fractals shards/laurels/karma can be used. The biggest problem is that karma got over nerfed and was reduced by nearly 90%. Laurels are time gated. Fractals require you to play beneath your personal reward. Each has their own draw back as a means to obtain obsid. It has also been announced that the reworking of crafting legendary(s) that was meant to be addressed before end of year is now going to be delayed because it never made the time cut. Either make obsid non account bound so karma purchases of obsid for sale reduces stockpiled karma and creates sales on TP, or make obsid shards able to be crafted..preferably from blood stone which requires champions slayed to get once your lvl 80.

gw2 is great if you have 4 other friends online at the same time as you. If you only have 1, or a few guildmates, stacking is one of the few ways you and your friend can play brief games without WvW roaming w/ your full exotic/ascended gear needed. (Which some ppl can’t be bothered to grind it out to ascended gear and are only casual players.)

I have been running a lot of dungeons lately and I would like karma as part of the reward. I have dawn+enough gold to purchase many crafting materuals for it+gift of ascalon+exploration+battle+metal..need a few more things,..and whadda now..I am about 500K karma short for all the obsid shards. I play all aspects of gw2 dungeons>spvp>alt progression>wvw and all these modes don’t allow for specific karma gathering within apart from a wvw zerg train and karma farming becomes boring as hell when that’s all your doing.

When you’ve got enough time to wait for 7-20 minutes per match. Hotjoin is instant, soloq can have fairly long wait times.

Just stop. Were the warrior’s all rank 50+ vs all rank 12?..were they 5 vs 4?..there is a lot of reasons why 5 ppl may win that happen to be all running the same profession. Enough of this tired and stale thread of warrior is OP. Just get better.

No offense, I understand the supposed reasoning behind the nerfs, just not sure if they took account PvE at all, as I never found the Hammer to ever be the most powerful Warrior weapon choice.

ANET balances around top-tier tPvP/actual tournaments.

Which is why it is a terrible idea. 3+ million copies sold..only 10,000 regularly pvp. That means most of the patches have been based on 0.5% of game play, that is often in a flawed MMR system of where the veterans get placed against new comers. Reducing hammer by 25-33%..that alone shows questioable thinking. Changing burst mastery to separate dmg from stun?..that will also effect every other weapon as well, even though it is only targeted at hammer. The quote i like best is, “We don’t mind warriors having large damage or large control, it is just how easy they can do both.”

I don’t mind engi’s and necro doing large amount of conditions and aoe control…it’s just how easily they can do both…..seems the what is good for the goose is not good for the gander.

Warrior:

  • Earthshaker. Reduced damage by 20%.
  • Staggering Blow. Reduced damage by 23%.

This is really a huge issue for PvE even though it is probably much needed for WvW. This separation of the 2 really needs to be addressed and am hoping for a dev comment on this.

I completely agree that a few specific traits and a hammer is OP in WvW. but in dungeons it’s already not the greatest because of defiance, unshakable and some enemies with perm stability.

I think that reworking the traits at least for now would be better to see how it pans out. I never use UF or Burst Mastery trait with hammer. Rather trait power(for GS)/defense (for hammer recharge)with shouts heal in tactics

I couldn’t agree more. Split unsuspecting foe into PvE/PvP categories. Reduce critical chance for PvP version. Split burst mastery into PvE/PvP and reduce burst damage for PvP. This would adequately addressing the issue with the other changes stated. However it would allow for that one build type to play exactly the same in both modes with only the damage/stun output chain being affected.

Seems some of these requests do cut a very fine line between wise/unwise..but all in all I find myself agreeing with it on paper provide it is implemented fairly.

Selling your skills for faster dungeon running is not a bad thing. However what is happening at the moment with Arah has nothing to do with skills. Almost all the selling is based on the exploit of skipping lupicus.

But even if that is fixed, the fact that people can get the whole rewards for a dungeon in 10 seconds while completely doing nothing is just bad design. This way no one outside sellers would want to do the dungeon, and becomes just another part of the game turned into nothing but a cash farm for a small subset of people.

It was supposed to mean that having the tokens you actually were skilled enough to finish the dungeon, now every ranger and his bear who couldn’t even get to the first boss is fully decked in arah items. And to think arah was considered once the hardest dungeon, now has become a joke.

Everything would be fixed if they just spread the rewards across all the bosses in the dungeon. You then can pay people to carry you and finish the dungeon for you, but it still takes time and require some input.

P.S. I wish the mods would remove the completely off-topic replies from the trolls who want to derail the thread.

I agree. I entered p2 with exp team. We don’t speed run perse’, but we very rarely get downed either. We play casually, but can still drop lupi in a 5ish minutes through timed reflects in phase 3. We exited dungeon and the same ‘vendor’ had already come out before us, even though they entered at the same time. How does one solo lupi and path 2 faster than an exp team that rarely gets downed and can handle lupi considerably faster than your average PuG? I smell a rat, but can’t prove it because I am not with them whilst they do the run. It maybe 5 of them run it and 4 of them leave so the final person nets optimal cash and then divides it afterwards.

Thanks for pointing out that we seemed to have had a bit of miscommunication about offering “runs” as a service in the game. I can tell you that runs are not disallowed if they do not in some other way form a breach of the User Agreement or Rules of Conduct. We consider such an offer a form of a “gentleman’s agreement” where two parties agree to a specific service for an agreed sum in in-game currency (or in-game items, as the parties decide).

Naturally, if the run itself involves the use of an exploit, that service is strictly and fully disallowed. (And of course we want to hear about any exploiters.) Runs for real-world money or goods are, likewise, strictly prohibited. And if the service ends in a disputed situation — for instance, someone offers a run and then leaves the party, or offers to pay and then declines to do so — then we may take action against a scammer, if an agent is able to confirm what took place. But because the service is a gentleman’s agreement, we do not get in the middle of repayments, re-dos of the run, etc.

TLDR – It’s fine as long as no exploits were used.

They are selling Arah P2. There is a known glitch on asura abomination that allows you to bypass it and open the doors.

So is engineer, mesmer, ranger, guardian, necro, thief, ..everyone but ele. Each profession has a devastating build. Whether it be phantasm, fear chaining, stun chaining, running in small circles spamming mindless bombs, engaging stealth 7 times in a single 1 vs 1, having a pet that has more HP than Zhaitan, guardians with 5+ blocks that are on useful cooldowns..what profession isn’t OP?..notice how i didn’t mention ele.

To begin with I am Ventari (r52) and top 50 in the leaderboards and playing PVP since release without any stops that have lasted for more than 3 weeks, so I really know what is going on in the PVP section of Guild Wars 2. And currently I became even more frustrated than I was after the so-called “balancing patch”.

1.) Burning Problem!
Whenever I check my deathbreakdown, I see that I got most dmg from burning dealing about 20k-30k dmg and then there is a far distance and I get damage from other skills, mostly conditions which is really annyoing, eventhough I am playing necro. And the very simple reason for it is, that the base damage of this condition is far too high. Why would I get most damage from burning in a duell against a hammer/longbow warrior with berzerkers amulett?? It is not as if they get most damage from the direct damage of the attacks of my scepter as well??
Solution: Let the conditions scale more (and I mean a lot more) with condition damage and decrease the damage done by it by the same amount so the damage stays the same for condition classes and is only lowered for glasscannon classes.

2.) Warrior Problem
Every second player I am talking to (top100 laderboards) thinks that warrior is not OP but very close to it. If the burning problem is solved it will be a lot better with them, but the main problem is that it is the only class that deals 3k hits on a necro with 2.5k armor, while having all skill points spent in defensive traits. And yes my team has tested a lot to deal with double warrior setups and even tripple warrior setups but these setups are still too rewarding compared to the amount of tactical understanding and skill you need to counter it. And yes I learned how to deal with warris in duels…
Solution: Solve the burning problem or move the +50% crit chance on stunned foes trait to master or grandmaster trait or decrease the damage done by longbow #3 and the hammer skills by 20% or keep the damage and remove one of the hammer knockdowns or knockbacks so you don’t need to play energy sigil on every weapon set and still be not able to dodge everything.

Resume: This may sound a bit too hard, but if we think about the consequences warrior will still be viable without having more health, armor, damage and sustain with berzerkers amulett than any other class with rabid or other similar amuletts. I know the game is made for casuals but the ones who really want to play this game seriously want to have fun as well. So please make sure to fix this problem !soon!, or the rest of the top100 players will leave the game as well…

You want to take it seriously?..broken 4 vs 5..slow patches to fix issues. Broken MMR, broken leaderboards, massively unfriendly profession styles of some professions, too much particle, character model size issues with asura, glitches all in skyhammer, title farming, ton-o-AI, heaps-o-passive…should I continue?..and you want to take it seriously? why not set up a checkerboard with chess pieces and remove 20% of them and say, ’let’s have a serious game of chess.’

400ish health per second. Most conditions do 100-120 dmg per second..ergo any 2 dmging conditions+auto attack has heal sig under control..they cleanse those 2 conditions..well no one is going to argue it is difficult to stack 2 conditions regularly.

That’s not entirely true. Take WoW for an example. It completely changed Talents and how they worked like 5 times, WOTLK and early Cata were peaks of the game, too. Also they’ve had HUGE class rehauls in expansions where their entire gameplay changed, and generally -to make the game deeper- (like adding more class mechanics), and it paid off. When you own a business you gotta be able to take risks and go with you gut IF you believe it’ll benefit the long-run. And honestly, I think GW2 needs that because people are so bored with the game right now they foam at the mouth just to have basic class changes so something gets a little shook up. I think having an expansion of sorts that really changed some core mechanics that haunt the game into something better would at least give people something to look at and play with for a while.

WoW also 100x more cash each month to make this sorta thing happen. Gw2 is box price only and gems if you want..what your saying is akin to apple vs not-for-profit company and how they fund massive overhaul. The major reason players are bored is because there is only one game mode. Do the same thing over and over again and you’re only going to get what you’ve always had…which is repetition. Familiarity breeds contempt they say.

-“A small community of players.”-I’d bet less than 1% of ppl who bought gw2 on day 1 still pvp today

-skill means nothing on a tiny map where any old roamer can come up and gank the best engagement you’ve had all day. There is no tactic to being stomped from behind

-“leave new comers feeling alienated”- that’s what skill splitting does. The new player now has no recognition of the skills they’ve come to know in PvE. Balancing skills off 1% of players in one sector is asinine.

“Noob tube”-an effective means for new comers to have a chance vs veterans. “It benefits the game.” You post video supports the idea of a profession that allows new players to have a chance. Warrior is decidedly one of the most regularly picked professions. Hammer is user friendly. It makes sense.

“progressive development of skill” With only one game mode, there is a ceiling. There is only so many ways to approach a node and hold it. It is node holding that wins matches, not stomps.

You may as well just ask for pinball to be more balanced. It seems apparent that gw2 pvp most benefits from just pound-pound-pound..don’t take it too seriously. If you crave some form of elite skill use game play, maybe pick another game and just leave gw2 for days you feel like entertainment..but hair trigger reflexes/god like skill use is n not going happen in this game. Even if it did, there is no rewards for it and only an endless quest of grinding for skins and a title that was diminished from skyhammer farming. These balance threads are like watching a blind man in a dark room looking for a black hat that doesn’t exist and insisting it is there..you just need to work a little harder to find it.

Usually I can always see the boulders in path 1. However for the last week they aren’t showing and are just health bars instead. I have tried changing all video card settings, but i don’t think this is case as I’ve always been able to see them no matter my settings. Another player in team also couldn’t see them either.

400 passive healing signet only + 100 more via trait PER SECOND thats 5K! Healing per 10 seconds without wasteing time healing / without being able to interrupt and without being able to counter with poison (unless you somehow perma apply it which is just completely unreasonable)

best stuns in the game (either AoE or extremely long) on a VERY LOW CD

best condi remove in the game with the same trait that also gets another 100hp/sec healing – TRIPLE condi cleanse every 9 seconds TIMES TWO (two weapon sets)

very good damage output especially with a 10 point trait that gives 50%???!!!! crit chance when target is stunned

one of the best and most reliable stability utilities in the game (balanced stance)

reliable ON COOLDOWN!!!!! aoe might stacking with longbow hammer (2 explo finishers and a fire field every 9 seconds lead to reliable 12 STACKS AOE MIGHT ON ITS OWN!)

and also Berserker stance is one of the best – trololol they have 3 condi classes lets hard counter their setup – utility choices you can pick right before match

Run in circles spamming the ground, swap to pistol if they get too far, spam every condition there is, drop bombs for AoE knockback and have a 50% up time swiftness and and massive regen with reflect and block and more skills than any other player…yet some how you think warrior is O.P.

Give it up bro..pvp is dead. It is never gonna live. It has zero rewards, no man power, slow and unthoughtful updates, ungodly grind and is filled with bugs galore. I like the a-net guys, but i don’t like the pvp in this game at all. It is spamtastic and has major issues that cannot be resolved without first of all annoying the very few loyal players they have. Take your rant some where that it matters..it means nothing here. You say it will break the game?..it was broken from day one and has never been remotely fixed. If it was even 50% as sharp as the PvE side, it would be enjoyable.

If I had to choose, I’d rather have passive healing+ healing slot on necro minion master than healing sig on warrior. It baffles me that of all the passive area’s of healing in this game, the ones declared O.P are neither the strongest or the most useful. It is just another case of target the most played and ignore all other information that conveniently shows holes in your argument.

7 months ago the community screamed for healing sig to be buffed. It got buffed, now the same screamers want it nerfed.

This would greatly explain why rush rarely hits and always over shoots. If you use it on any sort of champ or dungeon tough guy it will constantly run against them, but never strike and just fall flat. Numerous players have make note of all of rush’s (and all rush abilities in general) that they’re not smooth, often over shoot and fail to strike some targets. I would be happy with a fix it made it as accurate as R.T.L

3 ppl who can communicate vs 7ish people who can’t…look who wins. The only thing I really saw was the target symbols and the fact they were chatting. Good example that all the warrior talk currently is not just about build that is making it “O.P”..it mostly the players behind them are just skilled and not spam happy.

Entertaining read. The burst skills loses adrenaline if it is blocked or missed is a bad idea though for the one big reason many warriors have stated. Many of the F1 skills become sensitive to ping and terrain. Flurry often over shots its mark, earth shaker often rubber bands you,. Evis moves via flight of the crow and becomes prone to missing on angled terrain, even though your opponent is kissing you. It is the same for all leap, rush skills. They often over shoot their target rubberband and/or don’t compute well with terrain. This change now punishes players for thigs that are out of their control and have been talked about to death in regards of needing some sort of fix/QoL. It would also require that if thieve’s get blocked/missed backstab in stealth..that’s it..they lose initiative cost and become revealed. It would also require that if mesmer clones shatter, but miss..the shatter still goes on effect..even if the clone is running against a wall or stuck on a ledge. It would also be only fair that if a ranger pet becomes snared by terrain when their F1 is used and a has a result misses, their F1 is also reset. Because of the hit/miss window being effected by issues outside of the players control, it is better to leave all f1 abilities as they are until these under the hood mechanics are cleaned up to work 100% effectively 100% of the time.

Everybody agreed warrior was substandard..they got buffed. It is not power creep when they were already in disparity. That’s like saying I put $15 in my bank account that was $12 over drawn..whoa..I just got rich!!!..you didn’t get rich, you just got a wee bit out of debt and slightly above zero.

It’s the same discussion over and over again. Some weeks ago, necro was the “flavor of the month” and you could easiliy find 8 necros against 8 necros in hot joins.
Previously, it was the cantrip elementalist. Earlier, it was the thief. And the list goes on.

Adapt, evolve. I personally find useful kitening them.

Agreed. Each month it is just another profession asked to be nerfed..we wanted thief nerfed..now we complain they got nerfed too hard. We wanted ele nerfed and then we complained ele got nerfed too hard. We wanted necro nerf,..they got minor nerfs..we still grumble..we wanted warriors viable..now we want them nerfed…tune in next month when we say they got nerfed too hard…tune in next year when it will be, “Pvp is too hard..we want it nerfed.”

1% of people who bought guild wars 2 play pvp regularly according to their statics. Why even think about balancing a game around 1% of its population when the other 99% are cool with it.

I speak for the opposite camp on this one. I have no issue with warrior’s. I really don’t see what the fuss is about. I see them get dropped by single targets..I see them get dropped by mobs..the same as every other profession. However, I do understand many would like things easier rather than just get better.

The reaper fight I’d say 0-20-20-30 w/ krait/perplex runes and traits in banners. The following duels 20-10-20-20-0 with all perplex runes. The confusion stacking on interrupt kinda makes me think they have taken traits from top line on interrupts. All dire gear.

Nice cherry picking. Because some foolish things are said about warriors doesn’t mean they don’t need to be to nerfed. My main problem with Warriors are too much damage with too much survivability. The stuns bother me as well but its not necessarily the idea that Warriors have them just that I believe access to so much hard CC is bad for the game. So explain to me reasonably why Warriors should be able to do so much damage and yet be fairly hard to kill at the same time. Conditions are fairly weak against them now and Healing Signet is a tad too good. Also, they are almost like the old elementalist in terms of escapability. If they want to run away most of the time they can.

Reasonably..because in one trait tree that is healing/toughness they have invested 30 points to get merciless hammer/adrenal health/dogged march/cleansing ire. If you use hammer and healing sig without 30 points in this tree, they are weaker than tap water. Any profession that invests the maximum amount of points into one tree should see benefit from that tree. The next 30 points are now invested in burst mastery and crit damage. With the remaining 10 points they gain unsuspecting foe. Add to this sigil of impact/para and you have a complete package. If anything this is an example of perfect synergised build. We all asked for synergy..necro’s and warriors got it. However when it comes to build wars, this hammer Juggernaut will pretty much always lose to mediation guardian, evade thief or even a sword/axe-longbow ranger/halting strike mesmer played in a sound fashion. Some builds are the counter to others. The same as this warrior build crushes some and gives them little chance, there is other builds that crush this one. Half of good game play is paying attention to who is going to outclass you and who you can walk over. You ask for reasonable. You got what you wished for. Sometimes one has to concede you just can’t stand on a node and duke it out with everyone. It was no different in gw1..anti melee necro and blind bot ele’s simply walked over every warrior build..they were designed for that sole purpose. This is another aspect of good play..live to fight another day..or die trying..sometimes it is better to not die trying and go look for greener pastures.

I think you’d make a mint just keeping them on the TP..I already own one, but now that i’ve settled on profession and I’m working my way through individual build armour set-up..I say there is a 99% chance I’d buy 2-3 more..and so would many others I believe. Simple, change Cleansing Ire to require a hit + depleted adrenaline to remove conditions. If you miss with your burst you get depleted adrenaline + no condi clear. Sucks for bad players but that’s what you get for not making sure your target is locked down before you burst them. It wouldn’t even be a huge nerf, you can still charge adrenaline while Bursts are on recharge and 3 condis cleared every 8s is already a MUCH higher rate of condi clear than any other class can achieve.

I’d be fine with that.

yeah..never mind Hammer burst can randomly fire you in any direction and then rubber band you. Never mind that flurry over shots it mark, great sword is extremely prone to skill lag, evis is terrain sensitive and moves via flight of the crow..if your not good enough to lock them down on flat ground, without much going on round you on a low population map with an excellent ping..you deserve to miss and lose your adrenaline. Good thinking. We’ll add this one to if thieve’s get blocked in stealth they lose all initiative and if mesmer clones don’t shatter dead on, all their shatters go on recharge.

If you look at stated box sales of gw2, only 15% were in U.S and E.U. The other 85% were in area’s outside those zones. I assume these zones were asianic with China being the exclusion.

More important than playing warrior is being highly familiar with the dungeons and not screwing up key parts that make the run faster. I’ve done arah god knows how many times, and people that get snared by crusher, or can’t jump up the cliff face on P3, die regularly on lupi, don’t know how to pull bosses into corners on p4 are pretty much disliked. If you’re new to dungeon, watch youtube clips first, make use of potions and become familiar with the path you’d like to run before entering. The more someone screws up increases the chance of rage quitters because of how long they can make a run last when they aren’t entirely sure sure of how to run it. There is multiple guilds advertising on forums that they do dungeon tutorials and run dungeons often for new comers to them.

I have checked this site for the last 7 straight days. Balth is never open it seems. Players complaining the event is bugged and never becomes uncontested.

I play off peak hours and I do seriously think this can happen. I am glad I still get a some what timely match, but I have seen matches where all of us were rank 35-42 with one team having a mesmer at rank 9…guess who got squashed all match? I felt super bad for the guy, couldn’t hold a node, couldn’t capture a node, got dropped in under 10 seconds in team fights..poor fella just got ping ponged around the map all match…and just plain forget about them holding the treb and actually being fairly pin point with their shots. I hope the player went to spvp and got more hours under his mesmer belt before returning to soloQ or tpvp.

A guildy Warrior just finished his set of Celestial, was going to ask him in a week or so how he liked the new armor. He was “sick of having to find/buy all different kinds of armor for each build”. So, glad to see the thread and hopefully some answers will be forthcoming.

Essentially, this is the compromise. One set of armour that can cover a lot of bases, even if it doesn’t cover them entirely. This paired with legendary sword and/or longbow would allow a player to switch between a mid level DPS or mid level condition build in PvE. Considering warrior even at mid levels will out damage a guardian orientated at DPS, it still leaves the warrior as a go to primary melee damage dealer or close quarter condi stacker. In PvE terms with it straight forward nature celestial would prob do just fine for most PvE content.

Is it really necessary to have every single WP always contested? Have you ever thought about off peak players?..or dwindling populations? It is really annoying to try for a skill point for map completion to find 14 risen and 3 veterans in front of the SP alter that is perma poisoning and every other WP to get to it is perma contested. Just say’n. Maybe something to look into. It doesn’t make the game more satisfying through having to really work for your victories, it just makes it down right annoying.

I feel what your saying; Out of the 5 skill move set on GS 1) auto attack 2) uber stationary auto attack from hell 3) small gap closer that gets easily nullified if your on uneven terrain that takes you away from your target, or at best through your target 4) long range throw 5) long range dash that the longer you rush, the more likely you’ll over shoot your mark and finishes in perhaps the most awkward and ungraceful animation.

It does feel at times that in close quarter situations, you only have 2 skill available, and one of them is auto attack. Thank goodness for quick hands weapon swapping. Greatsword on its own is good, but too much of it is dedicated to when your target is not in front of you..giving it a ranged weapon feel.

Sadly, I’ve seen a lot of bunker warriors these days, and I always wonder myself, is it fun to play as that? I mean, you don’t do nothing literally, you stay in the point and all you do is evade evade evade, block and evade again.
Where is the kittening fun there? I can’t find it.

Saw this a long time comin. I made a bunker warrior and a LB GS warrior the second cleansing ire came out. The bunker was pretty awesome even before the heal sig change and I would have ran it if it wasn’t seriously boring as hell.

But yea, a lot of the non-bunker wars are a random variety of stun specs for power which are tanky in and of themselves… Seriously had 4 team queue games where the games lasted for over 13 minutes with 2 of them going the full 15 minutes. They were running bunker/stun warriors with a lot of tanks in general.

If you are trying to run a team like that, please don’t. I can assure you that in a legitimate high-level game you would lose. It also honestly makes the game unfun for everyone and you’re making pvp look like a piece of kittenhown in the video above. Those games made me understand the GvGers QQing about conquest. A bunker/stun meta can only happen here, folks.

They don’t need to. It already is simple and fairly powerful to the point I don’t even stack any sort of condition based runes. The key thing is that too many people are caught up in stun/hammer meta to realise condition warrior is just as powerful and has a tonne better mobility.

There should be no Rank farm in Hot-Joins and its actually easy, just cap Rank gain to Level 10 in hot Joins and after that people just get Glory.

The 10+ rank should be left to SoloQ/TeamQ.

Too many people reach for this as the solution. There has already been plenty of threads from South pacific/ocenia players with screens shots of soloQ times reaching in excess of 30 minutes. Also because pacific login is at offpeak hours Tpvp is worse as you can’t always have 4 ppl ready to go when you feel like playing tpvp.

I really agree with this. The pvp becomes a lot more fun and skilled when player number are limited. It allows time to swap skills and/or weapons to what your about to face and gives breathing room without all the harsh video card spluttering mass particle kill.

One has to be careful with ideal teams though that you don’t create a game of chess where how and when the pieces are moved is more important to winning. Much like chess where you need your rook to always be a rook and your bishop to always be a bishop. This creates a scenario where it will lock down profession builds rather than expand them, because you have your ideal that always moves a certain way and it is more about getting it into position at the right time, as opposed to what it potentially can do with creativity.
