Now if you remove The Moot from the list of those 3 legendary weapons and replace it with Eternity, would you girls/guys still vote Frostfang as best legendary?
Yes, I will still vote Frostfang. (Frostfang / Juggernaut / Eternity)
I value the looks of my character so much. I can’t stand a weapon that will change appearance based on time (i am perfectly fine if it is by manual swap), no idea how to mix and match the armor in order to fit 2 different alignmented weapon…
I do have rate Sunrise and Twilight the best looking legendary on my list.
To answer the question:
Frostfang > Juggernaut >>> Moot
My personal taste:
Best: Twilight > Sunrise > Predator > Flameseekers > Incinerator> Frostfang >
Bolt > Minstrel > Frenzy
Ok: Juggernaut > Rodgorts > Kudzu > Howler > Metreologicus >
Kamohali > Bifrost > Kraitkin
Ugly: Dreamer > Quip > Moot > Eternity (don’t like the day and night skin swap)
The reason made OP leave, is the same reason that kept me hooked. I play GW2 for skins, LS, and open world contents. Never loved dungeon or fractical contents that required to party up.
Organized open world combat is fun. Battles that you can walkin in the middle and walkout anytime without breaking up the whole fight is very comfortable to me. I don’t have most of the dungeon skin because it require many loops of exp mode which i rather spent time explore the world, doing events, fighting world boss. Therefore i have more gem store skin than dungeon skin in my wardrobe…
I like GW2 the way it is and i am sorry that it is not your cup of tea.
honestly i own 8 lv80 before trait change patch. i made a new lv80 to try the new trait system and i love it. i del one of my pre patch lv80 as replacement.
I’ve also made 2 new characters after the npe patch. First one already hit lv80 in 2 weeks. Lots of fun therefore i started the 2nd one right away.
When i was trying to get my zone completion in timberline fall. i was mining a platinum nod underwater at the krait lake. i was ambushed by a lv60 shark so i killed it and an orange icon pop up on my loot list, this is my only precursor i’ve ever met: Dawn
I shared the same reason to play GW2 with OP.
I have done my 9th lv80, he is created after the NPE patch and after all, i think the leveling experience is great.
On the other hand, i preferred the trait update right after Apr15 patch (before some trait unlock requirement changed). As i have a new character created and lv to 80 before a trait requirement change, I actually enjoy map completion to unlock trait instead of killing this and killing that.
Well thats just me.
I am actually agree with you OP.
I have 9 lv80 and none of them are Charr, at first i think i hated the running animation but finally i realized i can’t even mix and match a good looking Charr, since then i totally given up leveling a Charr.
There are good looking armor “piece” here and there, but it usually happens on glove, shoulder, legging that only left side or right side looks good. I can’t stand using a skin that only left shoulder looks good and extremely ugly on right shoulder…
If you want good looking armor, go human, still a great amount of solid choice.
A fresh new lv1 character of your own account, in game leveling buddy is what he will actually need. Give him the items and gears you looted that fit his needs along the leveling jounery is much better than superior gears that you send him at lv1.
Try install Overwolf, it has his own screen shot link and shortcut.
There you have 2 folders for screenshots and 2 shortcuts.
Guild can claim a fort in WvW, when different forts are claimed by different guilds, there you have Guild Wars. No matter the name is named behind PvP concept or PvE lore, the name sounds quite suitable to me.
heirloon is a lovely choice, especially on some armor piece, the red will have high contrast and gradient from dark red into black.
Sclerite Sword is another choice after Ceremonial Sabre i will add.
Rapier, no idea which part it looks like a katana.
By the way, if it is not for the ugly animated eye and the dirty water, its blade shape is closer to one of the katana type.

We need at least a third heavy class, it has to be.
First, i guess no game company will hate you for buying multiple acc.
Second, you can have extra laurel each month, try to think about it, use the alt acc only for doing dailies and monthlies, all convert into T6 mat….
see what i mean?
i really do hope to replay my personal story.
remove vulnerable from RF, change hunter shot back to apply 10 vulerable, remove stealth.
Otherwise don’t change at all.
By the way 100b is never OP just like RF. Bad players can’t avoid 100b full damages are mostly the one complain about RF.
Get a skin and sell the item for 1 gold.
What? You can’t sell Ascended, they’re Account Bound. :-|
To answer the OP question though, I’d say save it for an alt, or, if you have literally no interest in ever make an alt that might use the weapon, you can always Salvage it. (At least, I’m pretty sure you can salvage Ascendeds…)
You can sell it to vendor for 1 gold. And i am sure i cannot salvage my ascended weapon (crafted), though i don’t have a looted ascended weapon.
I am actually happy about the RF buff.
Remember the good old days when warrior was the lowest tier in pvp food chain. How many times we use L2P to defend our 100b? Yet everyone claims warrior are OP and press 2 to win.
Is it ranger’s turn press 2 to win? Guys, they can’t even walk away from stood still 3.5s 100b, how can you expect they can dodge a run and gun 1500 ranged 100b?q
I have been running 2 shout + balanced stance since hitting lv80 (long before we have CI)
I change my trait a lot, 6/5/0/0/3 for GS damage build or 0/5/0/6/3 for shout heal or might support build.
Works very good to me.
Agree, 5 sec buffer time is quite reasonable.
I start with 0 adrenaline on a 2nd foe even after killing one trash foe 2 meter away.
I’m just going to throw this out there since I’ve been playing a GS/Axe/Shield burst build. Eviscerate will hit harder just because it’s single target, and single target damage has to be higher than the AoE version(Arcing slice) otherwise why take Evis over Arcing strike?. Now., one thing to note is no matter what bar level of adrenaline you have you will hit for the same amount of damage as you would a at any adrenaline level with the new Arcing Slice. More bars of adrenaline only translates to longer fury times. It is also much more usable than the old Arcing slice which was very awkward and hard to land.
Yes, that’s why i suggest damage increase according to adrenaline level and only for BONUS damage to foe below 50% hp.
Even with 100% bonus damage, it is still lower damage than Evis. Evis is a leap, so its a bit longer reach.
If follow my suggestion, AS will become much much more useful and tactical. As a lead attack, 1 bar AS for fury, 3 bar AS for execution.
I really miss the skill bar preview version AS.
But:
100% bonus damage on a 1 bar AS is OP, 50% bonus damage on a 3 bars AS is UP.
What about 50% bonus with 1 bar adrenaline AS, 75% bonus with 2 bars, and 100% bonus with 3 bars?
I am okay if the bonus damage is 50% only if they buff 8% base damage instead of a reduction. It is now a waste to use if enemy above half HP. And it is not worthy enough to hold on the adrenaline for a final AS.
On the other word, GS got nerfed after all. Please be honset to us Anet if this is your final intention. I lose faith in you because I felt being cheated.
Krytan Samurai~~
I have 10 characters, most of them have their styles, but out of all, this is by far my favorite.
The patch isn’t something that OMG amazing to me. I am with many players that wants to see new race, new class, new weapon, new map.
But there isn’t something that very disappointed either. So I am pretty much still happy. There are no reason for me to be unhappy. The game are not going to be much different with or without the patch. I am happy with the current state of the game, therefore, i will still be happy after the feature patch.
I only hope we do see new class, new race, new weapon, new map soon enough.
1) A toggle allow Charr to run with 2 legs with or without weapon.
2) Less bulky Norn body type (closer to human male, like female body)
3) More bread style for human male
4) More mature face for human
5) More young face for norn
6) Tengu….. o wait
you do understand even skipping foe require some skill right? Thats possibly the most basic control skill that every mmo game out there. I guess you didn’t buy a game and expect every enemy is dummy target right? Sure they have some power to block your way because they are no dummy.
Although we knew the mega server will merge our guild from separate server long enough. But we don’t know when exactly. Now it is going to happen, what stop players to feel exicted?
I am exicted about it, my guild is a very small guild founded in a very low populated EU server. We’ve moved to a more populated NA server and left everything behind. I do hope to get those lost influence back. I can’t find a reason not to feel excited.
No to PvE duel.
All PvP contents should be done in mist. All PvP contents should be using PvP build only unless it is WvW.
It is every PvE players’ right to demand a PvP free environment in GW2.
I’d love to see where the right to make demands of private property owners on their property is enshrined.
Anet has said that its something they would like to see added to the game. Doesn’t mean they will though. I prefer arena style team play for my PvP, to each their own.
We do not own the game, GW2 is not our property, we bought the right to play the game, this is in the T&C, go check it yourself.
PvE is a place for PvE contents, it is introduced as a PvE only environment, and many of us insist to remain as is. For PvP content, Mist is over there, help yourself.
I personally don’t mind duel option, but i prefer to keep PvE free of PvP content.

just kidding (or dead serious)
black hair or white hair is a good choice
So I have done the final story twice now. Once over a year ago with some guildies who were at that part of the story but I wasnt, I just wanted to see what it was like and if the claims of it being a super lame ending were correct (SPOILER: THEY WERE).
I just started playing again after about 5-6 months away and figure I’ll go ahead and finish it, I’ve been sitting on the “Victory or Death” story for way to long so why not finish it, right? Get some achievement points, close that part of the story and never think about it again. Guild I was in is dead, super dead, so I have to wait and join with rando’s from the LFG system. Finally get a group, start second run, get onto that last airship and happen to look top right and what do I see? Not the green “Victory or Death” stuff because I had forgot to switch my stupid living story back! “Oh nos” I say and try to change it but cant! Cant change while in an instance. kitten, super annoyed. Finish dungeon and cross fingers. Maybe Anet accounted for this kind of stuff and will actually let it count when i switch my story back to the main one. Click the “continue this story” button. Nothing, audible grown is let out followed by slight sobbing. Gotta run it again for the third time. And yes I realize this is mostly my fault.
Let me tell you my story, I beat the story mode with a friend, when i am watching the ending movie where me and destiny’s edge are being welcomed at trinity fort… my friend skipped the movie and i was NEVER able to watch that hero moment with my main character EVER…. because we are not allowed to replay PS.
I rather play 10 times arah story rather than missing out that movie….
It is my biggest regret in GW2.
I am not buying because…..
Belinda, my love, she ate up my gems.
And for real, i regret my decision of buying the assassin outfit. Without the ability to mix and match, the skin is as good as a dead skin to me, none of my characters wanna take it. So definitely NO MORE outfit i sweared.
My elementalist
Acolyte mask
Profane Mantle
Trickster’s vest
Flamekiss glove
Aristocrat’s pant

I have a different experience after all.
My gold generate ability is extremely low in GW2, my best income was AC run all paths and only done that for couple days. My current average gold income per day is about 1g~2g.
I got plenty of good loots through out the 2 years play time. Best loot was Dawn, Lord Taeres’s Shadow, Crystal Guardian, final rest. The days i grinded gold for my legendary (constant dungeon run, world boss train, champ train), my drop rate was awful. But most of the good drops included Dawn was happened after a long break from GW2.
I don’t know if there is secret mechanic that balance out the loot for hardcore players and casual players. I do feel that, the more gold i can generate though out fixed income (dungeon, champ bag etc), the less good loot i got. The more casual I played, once a while a dungeon run, join a world boss event if it cross my path, taking some breaks from GW2, doing map completion for 7 other characters… I got better loots.
Maybe that’s just me.
its good that i stopped to make the backpack because of how ugly it will become.
So far i am failed to find a decent looking backpack.
Since the day they moved berserker power to grandmaster, all non full dps build are not able to obtain it in thier build including my shout heal build. This makes a huge damage gap between dps build and hybrid build for GS user. I am more than happy to see this damage shift in order to bring up builds that can’t make use of berserker power.
So My GS build will do more damage once the patch is up, for “dps only” build, yes, its a nerf.
On the contrary, this will affect you far more than it will affect us. We will still be able to get the adrenaline very quickly, but your effectiveness got significantly lowered.
For someone use shout exclusively, to adrenaline management, there is a trait named inspiring shout….
I can see the trend Anet is making the pve content towards. AI will dodge away from you 100b, boss love to use knock back, or high damage melee damage that make your 100b final hit failed to hit. In zerg DE contents, 100b hardly able to finish because trash foes long dead before your 100b is half way done.
I am very happy to see the ai and boss encounter improvement, so as the GS changes which more adaptation to new ai designs.

The pic is nicely done, good job!
It is the most easy understanding guide i’ve seen so far.
i guess no body actually compared the modeling. I’ve compared the one hand sword with kryta sword and found the mesh of both sword to be quite different.
Yes they look similar but the detail are actually not the same. They, indeed, are not from the same model. Therefore not a reskin.
I love them. I think that most people saying they’re simplistic do not have high enough graphics to see the light blue designs in them. ^^
The only one that is lame to me is the shield. :P
It is beautiful in actual screen shot, another proof that the preview suck. i wonder what its look in actual screen of sword skin though. I think i may spent my ticket….
Not the best angle but it’s what I have on my phone lol
It is the simplicity that attract me, thanks Lilith, can’t decide which one to take. i am more lean to great sword though. Which one you think is better?

i like them, but i love to have the glow tune down a bit to show some weapon details. Afterall i really like the shape especially great sword. If it is not the glow is too much and covered up all details, i will have it cover my sunrise before i get Belinda’s katana.

It is way better than what we’ve have now. Especially someone who build the warrior to a swordsman like me. I won’t use a hammer, a mace, an axe as melee no matter how better they are compare to great sword and sword.
This stays true for all the MMO i’ve played.
And one point of new AS i’ll have to bring up, which is the damage don’t tide to adrenaline spent. The fury duration is a very minor effect to our concern. That means whenever we use on our 2nd set, if we’ve already land a burst skill as a lead attack, switch GS, CC then 100B or WWA, or inspiriting shout, you can quickly burst with AS with just 1 bar is filled.
What i was saying is, AS is more easy to launch as long as CD is finished, you don’t need 30 adrenaline to bring its full damage benefit as long as target is below 50% hp. Anytime you can switch to GS and hit F1 as long as you have 1 bar of adrenaline and target is below margin.
Suddenly pops up to me, it is a very good burst skill to use with burst mastery, you can launch a burst consume 2 bar of adrenaline then switch GS for a AS finisher.

From a PvE perspective…
The affected hits (first 8 of 100b and 4x WWA) equals 51% of a warrior’s DPS. This means overall dps for a warrior is reduced by about 2.5% roughly speaking.
What does this look like?
For the standard meta build (65003) the base dps with no vuln goes from 9,589 to 9,345.
In all, it seems like an extremely dumb thing for anet to be nerfing because…
1. In PvP Hammer and Longbow are the dominant weapons especially at higher levels of competition. So why nerf greatsword dps?
2. In PvE warrior is 4th or 5th out of 8 in terms of DPS, so it isn’t like they are addressing some PvE imbalance.
Most likely this nerf is “compensation” for the “great” new burst skill nobody will ever use in PvE and probably never use in high level PvP either. Sounds like a bad trade.
So in conclusion, the nerf is relatively minor overall but still annoying.
I have been waiting a reborn arcing slice like that for ages. I really don’t see a reason not to use it. Yes MAYBE the nerf will hurt the sustain damage with berserker power in long run, but with good adrenaline management, it is easy to gain adrenaline in long battle, and the more the foe hp, the more AS bonus damage you will deal, its actually more than make up the lost dps in long run. If the fight is a short one, your burst damage is much much bigger than the current 100B alone.
I hardly see a reason not to use it, seriously.
You’re never going to use it PvE. If it takes about 10 seconds (being generous) to build up adrenaline after you burst, that means you lose 15-5% of your dps for 10 seconds.
Let’s say you lose 10% dps for 10 seconds. Warrior dps in a fully buffed party is around 12,000 so by activating this skill you lose around 12,000 damage. This skill would have to provide +12000 damage vs whatever else your options would be. Meaning, the skill would have to do around 24,000 damage before it breaks even. FWIW, a 24,000 damage skill in a fully buffed party is around a 3.0 coefficient.
This is the same coefficient as Eviscerate. And that is just to break even. If you want it to be an actual dps increase it would have to be even higher. If you think Anet is going to make this skill hit as hard in aoe as Eviscerate does in single target I would recommend rethinking it.
First, didn’t i say i am a damage + support warrior? That means i never have berserker power in the first hand, so using burst skill never hurt my dps. 2nd, with the new mob ai at LS2 constantly moving, it is hardly able to finish a full set of 100B, new arcing slice is a solution. 3rd, during long fight, like legendary boss, you have plenty of time to gain AS bonus attack because every AS you hit after hp reduced below 50%.
Sonic Boon was a very good build before first nerf hit warrior.
Now a might generator warrior with phantax strength is a similar build that you can try.
Balancing consists of the following steps:
1. Collect Data.
2. Review Data to see if Balancing is required.
3. If required, propose solutions.
4. Determine if solutions meet your goals, are realistic, and do not significantly impact other areas of the game.
5. Select a solution.
6. Develop the solution.
7. Test the solution.
8. Revise the solution if anything comes up during testing.
9. Test again if revisions are made.
10. Repeat 8-9 as needed.
11. Release Balancing changes.Start over at step 1.
They can skip steps 1 and 2 in some cases by playing the game and seeing what creates unhealthy play patterns ie. player can’t react because there is no way to avoid something/they don’t have enough information. This goes for most cases, they are (hopefully) professionals at this. Another thing is listening to feedback and looking graphs if they got them, sure
Step 3 only occurs if there is something detected so it’s fairly obvious
Step 4 is the reason why PvE and PvP should be balanced differently. There is absolutely no need to lift your hands up in the air and say you can’t do something because it would affect another aspect of the game if those aspects are easily separated
I doubt the existence of 6-10 even existing in most cases. A lot of the changes aren’t too well thought out and we don’t have a public beta testing going on where they could even gather the data required for revisioning the changes. Most of the changes are numerical anyway and not new mechanics so the ‘development’ doesn’t actually take timeIt sure as hell doesn’t take 6 months to figure out 5% tweaks to skill damages. I do appreciate the big changes WHEN we get them but as for balance updates, they don’t really help the balance much at all. The patches are too infrequent and the balance will be skewed in some other direction in just a few weeks at best, causing the game to be pretty much dead and stagnated when it comes to innovation for more than 90% of the time
And this is why you are not in charge of balancing any type of content for any game.
Step 1 is the single most important step in the chain. Without it you are literally just making dumb guesses. You may as well spin the “wheel-o-nerf” to make all of your decisions.
I thought the same as your first line actually.
Collecting data and facts find are always the most time consuming and critical step on any problem solving. Balance patch every 6 months to me sounds very reasonable. Faster than that sounds like rushing or kneel jerk to me.
