Pets will have 70% increase in their hp so i geuss this is gonna be awesome, still they gonna die in some boss fights but they give us some time to micromanage them.
Signets need some love
Some Weapons need some love too
But my biggest complain is shouts, shouts need A LOT of love..I like “sic em”, “protect me” but they need to be more effective…“Sic em” will have a reveal which is very good, i would like to see “protect me” adding prot to pet and a rework to the other shouts.

Bring pause to GW2 for event.

Imagine this scenario…NBA finals, red team vs blue team..everything goes smoothly..Suddenly the X player get sucked by an alien spaceship….“ok guys keep playing, we will address it soon, keep playing competitive, entertain the ppl like nothing happened.Some time in the future we will fix it, we forgot to put a anti-alien roof even tho there were many alien sucking in older NBA finals, we are sorry.”

I’m not defending any design decisions by ANET I was answering a question “why are traps in skirmishing” by saying “anet wants you to trap with on crit abilities”. If your playstyle is different and you want to make it better, that’s fine and stuff. I was simply trying to explain where anet is trying to push you when making a build. Make sense?

Example: trap potency + spike trap = immobilize. Maybe you have companion’s might and a sigil of strength and fortifying bond. Now your 20 stack might cat (with pet prowess) is chewing on an immobilized enemy. If you run beastmaster or basic traps build, you should be trying stuff like that for most effectiveness.

Ive tried it..they chew you faster than your cat can chew them, it was fun to play tho.

It always seem that if you trait for traps you should take 3 traps, if you trait spirits you should play full spirits,if you trait signets you should take 3 signet..

Its just that you investing too much on certain skills that mixing seem pretty bad idea…..And every 30 point trait is really strong.

Signets for example.They have a cd,an active effect and a passive…So its like 33%,33%,33%..Untraited are on 33%,at 10 points are at 66% and you have to spent another 20 points to get the 100%…This maths arent accurate, are just to prove my point.You make a huge leap.From 10 points to 30 you get the same % as you took at 0-10.
Another example is that Mesmers can play portal,blink without being forced to trait em

The whole class is broken to an absurd degree. It’s basically jump n’ run and evade with pets and other passive utilities that win you the game. Even in Super-Mario you need more skill to kill something.

You cant say the whole class is broken cause of a broken build..Can a power Ranger do that?Can jump in and passively kill ppl?No..Does every Ranger enjoy playing the spirit build that makes you sleep on your keyboard?No…What Rangers have been asking since release and never getting it?Range Dmg, a real range threat..Not “heres a power Ranger lets nuke him to see numbers”.We are not thieves to stealth(exept a 3sec stealth every 9,5sec) and we are not Mesmers or Ele to teleport out of combat..Some of our pets have some wonderfull skills that we cant control to support team..You cant say in team “hey stop moving and go close to Moa,i think it will start healing you in a sec” or “hey dude i need a cleanse remove”,“ill send my bear close to you,stand still for 1 sec…..ok now you got 1 cond removed”

I dont say that Spirit Rangers take skill to be effective,but you ate in the face storms spirits active..About 1,5 sec casting skill,which makes the spirit stop moving.So there you played bad…Other than this i agree that spirit Rangers are eating alive every GC build right now,with minimum effort

Some traits like Trappers Defense are totally wortheless..I cant understand how they decided to put traits like this in this game..I know that you think that there are more but if we start we will never end…

1500 range barrage is the best aoe in the game..If Longbow didnt miss so much it would be the best…about 1000k in pretty big aoe…Ranger is the best sniper but this is a conquest type so snipers doesnt matter

The truth is somewhere in the middle..Its not that they dont care about pvp,hate us and want to torture us..But still i cant ignore the fact that they dont give us pvp qol improvements very often, as often as in pve at least..A new map aint something new for pvp, changing some secondary objects aint gonna change the main conquest strategy..Builds stay the same,roles are too linear,classes cant try new things cause they depend to much in certain traits-traitlines-skills…Portal, empathetic bond, arcane power traitline, stand your ground guardian skill….these are some of the examples…Things that are too strong and they are not leaving room for other things to replace em.My biggest complain about pvp is that i cant try out new skills, new traits without being killed by someone who just copy pasted a build

So are you just denying reality then? Because in case you haven’t read today patch notes, there are no balance changes. Everyone that’s been paying attention has known the balance patch is the 15th for some time now.

If you had been paying attention you would had seen JPeters saying that statement..Also you had seen that noone said, “JPeters was wrong, actually is 15th”..And im not denying reallity, im just saying that JPeters said that oct 1 = yes patch and noone said that this was untrue till now…My goodness ppl are so narrow minded, even if they said that the major patch is at 15th doenst that mean that oct 1 aint at all, combined with JPeters statement i was expecting some small balance changes…..Is it clear enoug to you?

Its not the first balance patch..And in every patch we waited,low quality improvements came..(custom arenas with no option to disable the points capping,unfair soloq,AI,condition spamming,not so good maps(skyhammer-spirit watch),etc etc)

balance changes and conquest maps aint something new for pvp..Soloq and Custom Arenas aint either…At least Custom Arenas as it is now.You still are pretty forced to play conquest mode again…So we are playing pvp for a year and nothing new happened and we didnt progress in something but skill,oh wait,skill doesnt reward you as much as it should,so you go back to nothing.Thats why so many top players left

So low skill Ele..Still i believe that ppl see the tree and miss the forest with classes like Ele and Mesmers….they have such a huge burst,so much utility skills,mobility and group support.
The only thing that hurts em is the current meta and the conditions that are out of control…Its just that they gave Necros so many conditions not that they taken something from Eles-Mesmers…And if you add the rise of Warriors and the Spirits passive burning created no room for these classes..As soon as Condition dmg is toned down they will be up again,they dont need buff,they need a new meta

I want the heal to be cast when I want to be cast,eitherwise is pretty much RNG,some random player does some aoe dmg to Moa,75%,everybody run around full life,casts heal….Oh let me put stability on it so it wont get interupt,cause everytime enemies are seeing a Moa heals they focusing interupt fire on it.Dat 3,5k stationary healing on small aoe is so OP.Not to mention that no player will stop moving to stay close to a healing Moa..
Exept Wolfs aoe fear,the other skills can be cast pretty easily cause noone really interupts a 4 sec protection,or the aoe Weakness (they will cleanse it anyway) or a pretty obvious dodgeable breath that totally roots the Pet(They just need to go behind it).The main problem on pets missing their skills doesnt comes from them missing stability…

Personally I think signets are fine, they indirectly bring a lot of support to the group, Sig of Wild can guarantee a buff or CC skill your pet brings gets off (EX: Moa Heal, wolf fear, Moa prot, bear weakness, drake breathe etc), hunt allows you and your pet to get around easily, stone can give you those precious 6 seconds needed to swap your pet to safety, and then renewal , well that’s a kittening AoE condi purge on allies in the radius. The traits certainly are nice for signets, but I find they’re great for both.

My favorite LR idea I saw was that if you use it as a stun breaker it strips stability from nearby enemies and stuns them for 2s, because it requires you to break a CC with it it couldn’t be abused for the boon strip + stun but it’d absolutely make people hesitant to stun CC a ranger and fight in Melee range.

I dont think that Singet of the Wild worth taking it for safe casting of totally RNG skills..Moa most of the times use heal whenever so it may be good that they get interupted…
As for LR its a good idea i think..

Signets: Signets have the main Rangers problem…They require too many traits to take from them the 100% and its almost not good without traiting for them.
I would like to see some of their actives effects effect the Ranger as well..
Example
Signet of the Stone: Gives toughness and on activation reduce 20% dmg taken to Ranger and 100% on pet.If traited reduce 100% as it is now
The same goes with the other signets..give a small portion of the actives to Rangers as well

Shouts: I like the reveal on Sick em and i think that this is the way shouts must go..Affecting only the pet was a bit lackluster.
Protect me is working only with bears,i would like to see some additional effect on it.Like giving protection to the pet would be a nice idea,so the pet doesnt die so often.
Guard needs an additional effect too,its like Sick em,it affects only the pet and this is where it lacks.It gives stealth and prot but it does totally nothing for the Ranger or the party around it..Skills that are pets only arent a first pick

Survival skills: They are good,AoE immo,haste,stunbreaker,bleed,nice skills..I would like to see Lightning Reflexes more of a punishing skill,increase the dmg and reduce-remove the vigor.The dmg as it is its totally useless,i barely notice it and mainly in pvp noone thinks “i will stun the Ranger now but i wont go close to him cause he might have this stunbreak that makes dmg”

Spirits: Well many have talked about em..Some people are hating the AI,some are hating the passiveness.They are cool in pve but they are bad for pvp and for a clear view.I know its hard to nerf em cause they will disappear from pve as well (were they are already unwanted).I think that one solution maybe would be to reduce the number of spirits that Ranger need to take,like merge 2 spirits in one…I know that this may be too hard to achieve but it will surely clear things up in the screens

Traps: Traps are fine.maybe an additional cast range will be better..but still fine

Traits
Some traitlines are having so many good traits and some others hardly 2-3…There always a strong connection with weapon sets in every traitline that makes builds lackluster.
Skirmishing traitline is having some of the coolest pet boosting traits,if you want to be a Power Zerker Ranger you totally have nothing that you really want from that traitline(only Quick Draw and if you are playing with LB) and if you want to boost pets dmg you should invest at least 20 points on it.I dont disagree with traps being there,adding some crit dmg on the condition universe of Traps is a cool idea.
Generally traits should improve skills and mechanics that are allready strong and viable.Something like adding a 20% boost to them..Signet of Beastmastery takes the signets from 50% to 100%.Signets should allready be at a 80% level

Weapons:
One of the main reasons i main Ranger is the animal animations attacks..Especially GS which i think is one of the most beautifull weapons out there.It needed the boost on Mauls dmg but it still has a bear animation for players to dodge it.An excellent gap closer-traveler skill,survivability in auto attack and #4 and stun-daze on #5 for extra pet dmg..I think all weapons should be in that direction,i think they must be more clear of what they do and how you use em..Shortbow for a long time was a power Rangers option even tho there was the best bleed stacking in the game…Axes mainhand role isnt clear either,although #2 has bleed,the Honed Axes trait is for power builds.I dont say that weapons shouldnt have conditions and power dmg on them,i say that they role should be more clear,they must be very strong in one role and not being so all around..
Some will say i like mixing things up but imo in the end all this mixing is making a weapon weaker in every role..you cant have a weapon being strong in both condition dmg and power dmg for example…It will make it OP,you must lower both dmgs.And then you make a hybrid build to fit em,but its OP again cause you have much mobility for example,so they must nerf the mobility,but it destroys another build etc etc etc

Ok we all know by now that BM was a simple build to play and Spirits is a super simple build to play..
Still this doesnt make the whole class being easy to play..
Power Rangers are pretty tough to master..I wont say is rocket science but its probably one of the most tough builds out there..
I will point some of the things that makes Rangers easy to play..
Condition meta requires a lot of condition cleaners,Rangers have a signet that transfers all conditions to pet with a pretty long cd,one healing skill and the Empathetic bond trait which requires 30 points investement.Empathetic Bond is a passive trait that every Ranger in this meta is forced to take it,if conditions werent so out of control Rangers wouldnt take this passive trait..Its not a fault of the class mechanics,its the meta..

So even tho i still believe that Rangers are having some passive mechanics that cant be taken away (pets) is the meta that forces em in even more passiveness..
The class has many options for active skillfull play,ppl dont choose em cause they cant survive without some current traits

Even tho i hate to agree with Lordrosicky cause he is so full of himself (he always bash how pro player he is and other no pro players shouldnt taken into account by Anet), i will agree..
For the first time he wasnt offensive and inmature and he said something really cool..
Enough with the AI,not only Rangers AI..Ok you want the pet to be AI,you dont want to give Rangers tools to control it but enough with the creatures in the screen..
Noone likes it,didnt you figure it out yet..?
Seriously dont you guys see that the only reason ppl are still playing GW2 pvp is cause of the combat system..
Everything else is problematic.Dont you see that the top teams are quitting?Where is Team Curse,wheres Teldo?I dont know what your numbers say but i can say for sure that this is a downfall..

Im not sure that a faster Ranger can compare Mesmers Portal skill..Also this Ranger is melee,GS with S/Warhorn most of the video..
I totally agree with Battosai.
But they have problem in putting more dmg in ranged Ranger,cause they cant split PvP with PvE (even tho they said that they would) and in pve the ranged dps should always be less than melee..
So we are going back at the support.
What do you bring in team to ditch that Mesmer or whatever profession we got in the first place?
More ranged dmg isnt an option right now

Ive tried many builds as an alternative to the boring Spirit build.Traps still work,the problem is that Engis-Necros do it better..

The duration stacking is a game changer for sure. I could be wrong, but if there’s a max stack that might mean you have to wait until the 5 stacks are done before reapplying.

All duration stacking boons(Aegis, Fury, protection, Regeneration, Retaliation, Swiftness, and Vigor) and conditions(Blind, Burning, Chilled, Cripple, immobilze(now stacks duration), and Poison) now stack to a maximum of 5 times.

Look again.. this is a HUGE nerf to the Warrior alone.

Perhaps you are right a bit, but its hard too see how this change will play out.
But in my eyes it looks like the aoe conditions spam is going to have a glorious time.

they are probably official..we had this talk before and proved that they were official…Its just a nerf to Rangers,Maul wont help Power Builds and more active play,the nerf to conditions is affecting Rangers totally,we have no way in making power dmg,eles and mesmers will dominate again..Necros will stay strong and Warriors maybe they are gonna take their place as king of everything..

Move “Search and Rescue” and “Guard” (without stealth) on the pet skill bar, as permanent pet skills. This will make the pet useful when it’s on passive, and give more pet control to the Ranger. Any new player doesn’t need to use these skills, but they can make a difference at a higher skill level.

No, what they need to do is either give us access to a second pet skill to use on command, or redo how the entire pet is done.

And yet they are gonna do nothing from those 2..

Shouts give room for improvement..Need to take a more supportive road..Support mustnt monopilizing in spirits..Must be split in Shouts and Spirits,take some of the effects of both and combined em.
Ideas:
Protect me instead of absorbing all dmg,will absord 50% of the dmg taken.with apropriate cd and duration
Sick em will make the pet leap to the target and knock down the surrounding enemies exept the target one..No dmg or movement increase
Guard will is gonna be Guard…The pet gives aoe protection and stealthing allies for 3 sec.
Search and Rescue:if the Ranger is reviving someone pet will reflects projectiles and dmg nearby foes..Something like Whirling Defense.If the Ranger isnt reviving someone will just heal allies in a small aoe

I know thats hard to be done..Just some ideas

You know what’d be awesome? If Honed Axes actually made it so when you crit your axe bounces back to you, granting might, and then back at the guy it crit with a limit of once per axe.

or Axes can bounce to non enemy targets and give em a boon..It will synergize fine with pets and its gonna give some nice support.I dont know what boon,something not too strong like swiftness…
