I dont like the idea of Rangers getting access to Confusion or Torment..I would like to see a Trap that benefits our pets tho.
Something like a trap that when an enemy steps on it our pets gain 10 stacks of might and haste and attacks furiously the target

Conquest actually is pretty good bad needs some improvements.
I dislike the idea of a Arena or deathmatch as a competitive mode,as fun mode will be ok..
A thing that i notice as i played WoW arenas is that in 2v2 and 3v3 when 1 person dies the match ends right there…The numbers matters a lot,even in 5v5 Arena the team that gets the first kill takes a huge advantage..
The mobas have taken out this aspect cause is to unforgiving and cant entertain casual players,even if you die once youll have another chance.Kills is not the main purpose,they help certainly but comon you will get em next time.
So its good that Anet forces conquest,also the conquest forces fights on nodes,you can disengage but the points are ticking for the opposite team so you got to defeat that player standing on the point.
On the other hand i think that Anet needs to tone down teamfights a little,imo they must make each node have the same distance from bases for both teams,i dont like that capping the farpoint gives you a disadvantage cause you know its far…so you are pretty much forced to zerg mid and keep one in homepoint.Its not happening all the time,i know,but i think is better watching Teldo winning a 2v1 from watching aoe zergs in mid trying to figure out who did what..

Low Crit chance,youll have to depend on Fury buffs

Pros
Pretty high aoe dmg,with piercing Arrows at 1500 range,Barrage and with 10% from Spirit,10% from Scholar,10% from trait full endurance

Good survivability: 2600 armor,24k life,hunters shot,Protect me(with bear),weakness aoe from bear.You wont go down that easily but still be carefull about conditions,we are in a very heavy condition spamming meta right now..

We kinda force every power build to have crit chance and crit dmg,ive even seen builds sacrificing power to gain more access to crit dmg or crit chance..Maybe the answer is flat power and survivability,or maybe im wrong.Comment

I will talk about Rangers,Rangers had a very OP,strong,“please Anet nerf it” build..We used to call it Trap Build………

NOT A SINGLE CHANGE HAD BEEN MADE TO TRAPS SINCE DAY 1
and this build had became weak eventually.I cant find of better example

Teams allrdy change their setup towards having at least 1 necro, while avoiding to have a mesmer in it. Today I will try bunker-nec instead of guardian, just to see how effective high-health pool of the necro counters this condition-nonsense (50khp with DS + Plague-form). I think I can solo a bunker-guardian meanwhile being tank on my own.
Definitely will be funny.

I was thinking something crazy,something thakittens unique,i mean i cant play competitive and i cant really test it but you can.

Why not playing without Bunker at all?I know you will say that you have tested in the past and i didnt work but there have been a lot of changes since then…
Ive seen some roles-builds-classes being there for a long time and i cant really understand why..

There are some pretty limited strategies in the current meta,“1 go homepoint,others mid or 1 go homepoint,2 farpoint,2 mid”,pretty much every match i see goes like this…

I know that this game is kinda fresh but i strongly believe that there are a lot of things-strategies that havent yet discovered,the top players must push this changes and not expect Anet improve the current meta…Top players must change the meta with what they got

I run this,its still spirit based but it does power dmg and not cond….using storm spirit-drakes F2-Axe5 can do pretty big aoe burst.

It was a problem before cause i had to go meele to make spirits active hit but now with the stealth in Longbow i can engange more easy..also im a moving dmg boost for everyone…Sun spirit may seem odd but pets are getting too much benefit of it,the mights i stack on me are shared with pets and through Companions might i can stack even more..I pushed condition dmg into pets and i do the Power dmg..My average Rapid fire does like 7-8k dmg and my autohits 2k-3k on crits.Its glassy but forgiving,stealth in longbow and sword2 can build some distance to avoid bad situations….

Try it,im not a top player and i cant test it on good necros.. :/ im just using it in yoloq and having fun….

It’s just not gonna work man, sure it’s good at a range but once something starts training you, unless your on top of the CT and can position yourself well and get your pets to fear people off the edge, or cc off the edge, or get really good peels. Once you get an ele, a stunlock warrior, or a necro on you it’s over. Have no stunbreak and no stability. Sure, a good blind and a good knockback might keep you alive for awhile but the counter damage won’t be there. That doesn’t include the only condi removal is healing spring which is like 6 condis over 15 seconds and maybe your elite but if you are in a necro fear chain with no stunbreak and no condi removal then you won’t be in that healing spring for long and won’t be in control long enough to get that spirit elite up.

I’ve said this is a thread on the ranger forum that we need condi removal in other areas besides Wilderness Survival. That line is very strong but the rest are lackluster. I talk about some of it here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/ranger/The-Ranger-Problem-PvP/first#post2462140

Ive seen your thread and ive comment my opinion..I agree with you…Still tho i believe that GW2 is more complex than we think.Even the top players are pretty fresh in this game..Its not like LoL that many things have been tested through countless of tournaments and stuff.

I strongly believe that there is a Zerker Ranger build waiting to be discovered.

Sure will have some weakness,every build have pros and cons,its just that right now we are forced to build with a current meta in the back of our heads.Some roles have been there for a long time.What if the meta needed someone that can unload dmg from 1500 range,and was so vital that didnt matter if became oneshooted?What if meta needed no Guardian bunking mid?What if teams found out that 3 strong ranged power classes is the counter to Necros?(im not saying,just geussing).

In my small experience in competitive games ive seen a lot of strategies changing just because someone discover something that was there from the start..

Im not a top player,i never was and i never intent to be but i got a feeling that theres been a fuzz about the current meta without letting things settle down a bit…

I can understand thats its not only a Necro thing,its the cond spamming,the aoe,the AI,the passive play etc etc,but still i thing that maybe we must test some things instead of theorycrafting..

I dont see top teams trying new things,i know that they may seem lackluster and not working but that could change in a few hours..Top teams are still playing the same classes combinations with the same builds…Why dont you mix the cards a little and see what you get?

Insane burst if you combine em all.You are a moving dmg boost…You may wonder about the Sun Spirit but with some might stacks it does around 400-500 dmg per tick,totally worth against heavy armor builds..Ive tried in sPvP and i found it good alternative,still spirits but power raw dmg..

Really appreciate the constructive feedback, particularly yours, Phantaram. You seem to be analyzing from a very objective and unbiased point of view, which is very helpful.

Its pretty strange tho to say that Longbow doesnt make your screen filled with big numbers..Recently a thread was made showing Ranger doing almost 10k with autoattack,well this isnt a very often number but 5k is easily doable…5k every second and you still think that this is low?Ppl are just saying something without providing any reasoning or examples….“Longbow is useless”,“Longbow needs more dmg”,“Rangers are boring”..while out there are respectfull Rangers showing us with videos and calculations that numbers are showing that Longbow right now is the highest ranged dps weapon in the game.If i wanted a HB skill to make 50k dmg i will make a Warrior and play him instead,if i want to see a 20k backstab ill make a Thief..I play Ranger for what it is and i like this class…If i ever get bored i will just change class,i wont expecting the class to be changed for me……

Conan, longbow is second highest dps weapon as far as I know. Prove me wrong.

Rapid Fire = Dodge.
Heck a warrior with a bow is a tougher opponent than a Ranger using a longbow.

Every kitten skill=Dodge

Anet gives in LB one of the strongest mechanic in the game right now and instead of trying to adapt our gameplay and style on it we just ask for more dmg….Like zombies walking mindlessly saying “more dmg in autoattack,more dmg in autoattack”…The most of the Rangers are pleased with the changes ofc,but there are still some qqers out there still complaining….
Seriously guys.I really like the gameplay of Longbow right now,they way it changed the way we use it and the options that is giving now is more entertaining..Still there is place for more changes in Rangers but will come in time…I dont understand why everyone wants to see big numbers..

Am i the only one enjoying the whole combat and not only the numbers?

It is unfortunate but true. All Hman is suggesting is a place for concentrated “top player,” feedback without being drowned out by “Frenzy 100B OP!”

Thats one side of the truth that noone ignores,in the other side tho a “top player” is a human,even tho he has better knowledge in many things also can make mistakes..

A lot of ego divas from a game that in the last Mists tournament had like 300 viewers..And the “top players” streams have like 100-200……You can barely make 100 ppl watch you and you want a special forum place?

I’m not the God of Gw2 but there is alot of players who think they know what they’re talking about when they have no idea what is really going on unless you’re playing the game at top lvl of spvp you have no clue of what’s happening. Watching a game and thinking you know some stuff it’s not the same as playing it i’ve experience those things first hand.

And this is why the forums are a joke most of the time you got those players who doesn’t understand the game or they think they do talking all kinds of things. They should just make a forum for the top 2% of players that spvp in Gw2…..

Its kinda good idea..But in my head is something more than Pets are spirits that attack with F1 and F2…F2 is the same skill as it is now and it summons a animal spirit in x range infront of the Ranger and executes the skill…If you choose a brown bear spirit it will shown up and remove one condition in a small aoe…The F1 skill will execute the same way another skill..If you have Drake it will do the aoe attack,if you have a wolf it will knock down your foe,if you have Moa it will heal aoe…This way we can control our actions,we can have back our dmg and opens so many possibilities.But i doubt this will ever happen,it requires a lot of work and i dont think Anet agrees with that kind of pets…Anet wanted pets to be this way,good or bad they make the game,not us

Very good thread..I totally agree that every Ranger has,in the current meta,to take Empathetic Bond,i dont agree in the adding more cond removal…Shatter Mesmers got 0 cond removal still they more than viable and they specc for power.The utilities that they bring in table make em usefull even tho they suffer from cond removal.Thats what i want for Rangers too….If they add more cond removal they will just make Rangers immune to conditions.
I want more utility-teamfightning skills-traits..Mesmers portal is so good..I want something like this for Rangers too.Always combined with pets,i want a Power Ranger to have the dmg,the teamfighting skills and a panic button to escape from bad situations..So it will worth sacrifising cond removal skills-traits.Right now power Ranger cant bring something in team..We got some ways of helping ourselves survive but we depend on very specific traits that are far in traitlines..Signet of stone needs 30 traits and Protect me needs a bear or itll probably kill your pet.
Still even if we take both i wont feel totally safe..I got a feeling that i cant depend on them like a Engi will depend in Elixir S…
Imo the main issue is that we have some pets skills that we cant actually control and we dont synergize well with them…

Something like this,ive tested this build and i found out that actually i do less dmg than a regular power build..I geuss that theres no point in going +x% with conditions cause when you dont meet the conditions(behind-full endurance-etc) your dmg is bad.but only in pvp,i have test it in pve

I think they it is now raise the skill floor..We need to do micromanaging with F1 F3 to land em sometimes.Theres no other way,everyone wants it..Just put another skill in F1 to manage it.Drakes aoe,Moas heal,Birds swiftness,Pigs charge(and maybe we will start to use em eventually),canines leap,etc..These are nice skills that we have sometimes to miss em cause of the current system..Plz consider it,we will use Protect me with bears immunity,without killing the pet of taking Signet of the Stone…It will open so many possibilities.Consider it

What bothers me most is not that he said that Rangers are OP,its not that he say kittens for everyone that plays Ranger in sPvP(in some point he says,“wanna play Ranger,press 1”) its that hes so immature that he dont have the kittens to support it with value arguments..He just drop something in the air just because he dont understand it…..My little friend you got 15 stacks of bleed cause the pet used his F2 attack,that lynx that you dont know what he does,well he has a leap with 1,5 sec cast time,that you didnt bother to dodge…oh and bleeds from pet do half dmg…..NOOB

I found the idea good and i tried this build in some tPvP matches but it didnt seem to work,i couldnt kill someone fairly fast and with the current aoe condition spamming you go down very easily without the Empathetic Bond.

Still was very fun with some 1v1 encounters..Try it in Hotjoins

I swear that i saw in their little Asura faces a very “what is this kitten?Why cant i move?” expresion…:D…Cause you know,you have access to 5! immobilizations aoe skills and another 2 single target from the Spider

No,in the PAX tournament with the cash prize there will be no Rangers..Saddly from a very strong homepoint bunker Rangers became an meh homepoint bunker…Thank God Anet dont want to “whack a mole” with the balance..
Its ok to nerf this build,was easy and didnt required skill but why we still lack of team support(no,spirits arent enough),why we depend so much in Empathetic Bond for cond removal…and the new trait hasnt changed anything,cause Guard shout does absolutely nothing..Pet stands in stealth and will attack nearby enemies………
Seriously,you couldnt think of something better?Stealthing the pet and attacking?Cause every guy in pvp thats what he fears,being ambushed by pets……

I believe too that base damage modifiers are more valuable than crit dmg bonus and even might stacks..Might is a boon that can be removed
I once heard a guy estimating the 10% dmg increase in might stacks,he said a lot of mights i dont remember how many tho..I need to run some tests to find out….
Argghh i wish it wasnt so hard to stack might with my Ranger

Now imagine with this build,focusing totally in dmg,we had also nice team supporting utility skills like Mesmers have..Or we could control our pets more reliable to offer the utility from them,being able to control Moas healing and not doing it in a random place when it comes to cd,or Pigs Charge,or Wolfs leap,there are so many nice skills in pets that are random and stupid…

Actually with full Scholar its a total 8% crit dmg while with this is 10%,also im pretty sure that the 10% dmg increase it might not stack with the Peak Strenght trait,dunno i must test it tho

So 50% crit dmg it means that if you make 100 dmg with an attack you will do now 200 and 100% crit dmg means that you will do 250 when you crit…

In pvp you cant achieve more than 65% crit dmg,so if you do 100 dmg non crit,with crit you will do 215.

while if you have 55% crit dmg and 40% dmg increase you will do 205 + 40 = 245

Am i doing wrong calculations?

You can go further in the Skirmishing traitline to gain 5% more crit dmg but thats all,and with axes you have 10% more crit dmg so its 65%..
I mean the 100% crit dmg its a 200% dmg boost but i repeakittens a pvp build and you cant achieve 100% crit dmg in pvp

what do you mean critical dmg increases your base dmg by 200%?how much crit will increase your dmg by 200%..i dont quite understand…
Its nice to increase the crit dmg overall but in pvp this is the most you will get

Why discuss one or a few traits when our entire tree needs a good overhaul anyway?

Why? Other than this one, we only need merge of piercing + eagle eye. Rest is ok.

This will break the balance totally..Rangers will be OP and they will dominate in every aspect.They would be like Warriors in pve and like Guardians in pvp..

Yes i dont understand it either but then why they havent done it yet?
