This actually sounds like a good idea, the amount of times I’ve lost a 1v1 2v2 3v3 or other situation because jimmybob necro has spammed Staff1 200 times 2 minutes earlier and filled up his super duper lifeforce bar to the brim.
Arenanet hasn’t thought too much about class mechanics and are just now getting around to adding them..
You can tell by the amount of warriors who have no idea what the 3 full little bars above their skill bar are because they’re constantly full and have no actual management associated.

Hi, I’m the devil’s advocate today.
I don’t like this function/Don’t feel the development of it is needed over other much needed functions.
It is already supplemented by sites like Gwshack.info or Gwscore ,which show your ratio for the day/week as well as graphs and other information.
Much more versatile then a in game ui could ever be, and doesn’t clog up your ui.

1. I understand that certain builds will naturally be better than others
Sub-optimal builds aren’t just a little bad, they are flat out terrible in SPvP
2. I have, like many people taken an average non meta build into PvP to only lose to an inferior skilled player who happened to be on a meta build.
Op Understands that Meta builds are better, but feels he deserves to win anyway.
i.e Holds two conflicting Ideas.

I think your cognitive dissonance comes from the fact that Meta means Optimal, and your build isn’t meta, i.e; Sub-optimal.
There’s a very good reason why bad builds aren’t “meta” it’s because they’re bad.
Build diversity would be cool, but most classes are forced into traits high in their trees, Mesmer is forced into iPersona/Deceptive evasion..
Warrior is forced into Cleansing ire..
etc etc..
Moving those traits down would create a quagmire in balance like never before seen.
I’m personally against buffing Ai builds :/
There’s enough cancer going around with Turret engies being playable.
Deceptive evasion is in a good place IMHO.

Right now in top end of PVP the only viable spec is shatter, and questionably viable at that because of the super high skill cap compared to the other classes (SdThf,War,Guard), so no one specs out of 4/4/00/6 not really anyway…
Adding some incentive to take underused traits would be good;
Overbuffing mesmer would be bad.
If you play the casual pvp mode… don’t take it seriously :/
If you want to play serious play teamque.

Thief has no tell and it can be done while stealthed+daze to prevent skill use during the pull, there is no way to counter this except with a very quick stability/invuln

Why is it considered troll spec to have a build specifically for this map?
You SHOULD be forced to play different builds or to switch your build for each map.
Stow weapon is one of those things that’s adding skillcap to the game but at the same time it’s also hurting balance.
Is stowing weapons to Juke opponents a valuable and interesting game mechanic? Yes
Is using Stow weapon to cancel attacks Mechanically spamming buttons a meaningful and fun gameplay mechanic? Not to me
Is it fun to watch/Skillful play? Look here john, mesmer a is clearly superior mechanically to mesmer b as he’s jamming his capslock intermittenly with his auto attack.
Are faster auto attacks that are completely unintended for mesmers good for the game?
The problem is that this is easily macroable and leads to exploits, unbalanced gameplay in any scenario other then 100% controlled anet LAN tournaments.
IMHO kill the after cast or add a iCD to Auto attacks on all classes 1/4th-1 seconds will do.

Touching Deceptive evasion in any way is probably a mistake IMHO
It’s super strong and actually dictates all viable builds with 20 point investment required.
Is it 30 Points strong? Maybe, but it’s also the only trait that makes mesmer builds viable pushing it to 30 would kill Boonstrip capability of mesmers or surviveability/damage of mesmer considerably.
Should It be made 5 point trait to allow extreme build diversity ? Maybe/maybe not.
a)Too strong! b) Locks crazy builds out, which is good. c) I honestly don’t want to see tank/condition mesmer meta.
I think what needs to be looked at are the underused-unviable traits/trait lines
I can only speak to pvp and mesmers are strong but not Optimal atm with only one real viable spec at high end play… which is why merging some traits could be a good idea. I’ve also heard that mesmers don’t bring much to the table in wvwvw/pve..

Right exactly, and ele has just started coming back into the meta people are starting to play it and realize how OP it is now, even though it has been for some time.
Do you remember when Hambow started happening? 3 or 4 months after patches that made them redic. People were screaming OP! but Warriors were like NOTHING CHANGED GUIS.
That’s how a meta works, it takes time for someone to figure out the better build and figure out how to actually play it, but after that happends welp…

I remember it was something like 10% base LF from necrotic traversal upto 12% depending on points in soul reaping. I stopped bothering with it after getting stuck with the minion a few times.
This wont help anyone in pvp but we also get LF after viewing vistas
Mine is a Legit tactic.. to help you do this quickly, stay in your base, have your minion Utilities up, start casting and switching them as they spawn..
I think you end up with a good bit of LF..
This is just like Ele switching to staff and blowing the Earth2>Air5>Air4>Switch to regular weapons > and blast.. Just a bit of mechanical play required..
The Reason Eurantien’s build works is because whenever someone+ tries to Attack him , His WHOLE entire team, drops WHATEVER IT IS that they’re doing, Gets off point and Starts 5v1gangbanging the poor guy off point.

I think there should be trail Solo Q and trial Team Q for the newcomers.
People who play less than 200 games in Solo Q/ Team Q will be automatically put into the trial Solo Q and trial Team Q and fight there among newcomers.
We’ll Call this innovative feature mmm Tiered Progression! no! Tiers, no no wait.. it’s coming to me, “Leagues”.

Most high tier necromances run 2 escapes; Wurm+Walk.
Weakness buffed so hard when Dhuumfire was added.
Also; Torment Added to necromancers for Free.
DS Absorbing More damage then it had was a bug, and how would this have been fair to absorb 10k dmg with 1k DS?
Nerfing Dhuumfire was a good call, and Scepter was OP Apex weapon for 2nd set, and still is really.
Spam Buttons on Point meta for necromancers is over thank god (8 months?)
Minionmancers were worse then Turret engies are now, you could literally 2v1 without breaking a sweat, these nerfs were called for, Minionmancer is still great 2v1 point control with it’s low skill floor at low tier play(i.e Soloque Look at Ni Hao Zi)
MM necro should never have been viable at high skill play.
There were actually additions to the amount of support a necromancer can provide through small heals.
Necromancer is a High sustain high CC class with Innate Tank due to DS access to blinds Weakness CONDIRESISTANCE THROUGH A HEAL and protection. Therefore not in need of access to blocks invulns and Having low access to Stability is intended afaik.
Necromancer is strong, but some abilities need a cast time or an animation (Corrupt Boon/Spite) One that actually works for spite please not one that plays after it’s been 90%cast and some abilities are just beyond ridiculous because you can get all of the traits, (Reaper’s protection) needs to be toned down, or terror needs to be moved up a trait.
The main reason not a lot of necromancers are played is IMHO Warriors pretty much being a super Apex build, why play a necromancer when you can offer CC Sustain point control and some mobility with Warriors? Oh did I mention that Warriors Can hardcounter Necromancers?

Sizer knows for a fact that if Sigils were nerfed the sustain/burst damage on Thief would take a big hit.

Do Sigils effect both parties? Yes, does it effect the Thief who is evading most of the damage in between his own proc CD’s more so ? Yes it does.
Do The 7k Larcenous strikes hurt? Yes they do, Do they hurt more with a 4k(double) proc and 3k steal? Yes.
If you could start using facts rather then appeals to emotion slippery slopes hyperbole, and Strawman Arguements.. That’d be great.
Also it would be awesome if you could point to where I said that reaper’s protection should be removed from the game..
I’m not saying necros need to be nerfed.. they need to be balanced out..
This ability is too low skill Required for the amount of power it has..
Balance in this game needs to be around creating counterplay and skill based play,

With the amount of Stability, Invulns and stunbreaks available in this game Lockdown builds are kinda weak in anything other then 1v1.
Unfortunately no we don’t “Aim” the illusions, but we do Aim their shattered bits.
But Neither do YOU Aim your Ranged auto atacks, Ranger Pets, your Instant no counter abilities such as steal (Sword2, Signet), Corrupt boon Signet of spite, PASSIVE Abilities such as Reaper’s protection, Large as all of foefire Longbow Special.
4/5ths of the mesmers weapon bar are NOT phantasms.
5/5ths of The mesmer’s utility bar are NOT Phantasms.
4/4ths of the Mesmer’s Special Ability Bars, are NOT Phantasms.
They do however represent about 20-25% of the damage(mostly from them being shattered) required to burst someone down or at least waste their dodge so the burst can come.
Phantasms rarely stay up past the first Strike, even if they are not shattered.
The thought that Mesmers are an ai class is absolutely abominable.
There are 0, Zero Phantasm/PU mesmers in high end pvp.
And Like 10 Shatter mesmers all together on the top 100-200 and I can only name 5.
There are at least 3 turret engineers in high end tpvp… that I am aware of.
