Easiest: Guard (Dps and bunk), Ele
Hardest: Engi, ThiefPlaying Ranger
Easiest: Thief, Mesmer
Hardest: Warriorif youre beating dps guards on shatter mesmer youre playing some kittenty guards
Its easy enough when you have terrain advantage, LOS and they’re intent on decapping rather then winning a fight.
Also Running a setup that allows you to easily kite them i.e Staff/gs. works pretty well.
When it’s a straight up HONOR duel, then who cares who wins.
yes thats true, with our must have traitline we get at least a low protection uptime which is up on the moment i don’t need it much times after i dodged something important.
but of course nice to heave and useful in some situations.at least i just wanted to say the nerf of the endurance regeneration from 50% to 25% was never need.
this nerf just give no reason for a profession like ranger.
but on professions like elementalist they stay with 50% endurance regeneration.the access to vigor on ranger is also not so huge like on much other professions.
so ranger don’t have so much more dodge then the rest if you compare
and in the same time thats the only survive mechanic of this profession.if you look on longbow/longsword rangers they have even less dodges then an d/d elementalist but not this amazing heals and mobility.
Most professions time their burst to after a dodge. if you have constant evades and protection uptime after the evades well, that’s god kitten annoying.
Thieves have 1 stack of might on dodge.. whoopee (Minor).
Warriors have 2k~ damage on dodge if they can dodge into someone,(Minor)
Necromancer has a a staff 2 when they dodge.
Engineer has Create a bomb when they dodge.
Guardian has a Small AOE heal on Dodge (Minor)
Rangers have Protection on dodge(Minor)Remove PoisonBlind on Dodge(Master)
Mesmers have Clone on dodge ( Master Trait )
Elementalist has attunement Effect on Dodge (Grand Master trait)
When you think of the classes that have perma vigor..
Ranger does not have a bad deal here not bad at all.
Compared to the other classes, Only Mesmers and elementalists have a better on dodge skill, and they have to spec 20-30 points to get it.
In fact the only reason that healing poison and blind doesn’t see more play is because of the relatively easy time ranger has with conditions…

If you make it so that when you enter sPvP, your toon changes races and appearance, you can pretty much guarantee that no PvE player will ever try out/play sPvP again.
also, Helseth plays an asura mesmer…I dont imagine the Lord himself would be agreeable if he is forced to be a human
Helseth plays asuras for their obvious advantage.
Asuras must be dealt with somehow if pvp is ever to be taken even the least bit seriously.
The 12k Clusterbomb makes me more worried then anything else…
How about, instead of doing useless promo stuff like this, wasting ressources on it… you finally fix solo arena queue?

Fay you have like 300 games total from both ques.. And even then they seem to be so long ago that they’re not recorded on any leaderboard. Which is cool I guess, but it also means your rank isn’t really legitimate it’s just the rank you were able to achieve with the first 12 games.

The problem with your Meteor Shower and iZerker analogy is that phantasms aren’t one-shot skills, they’re more like minions. A closer analogy would be if Meteor Shower lasted forever until killed and you could stack up to three of them in the same spot.
Also mesmers can have up to four phantasms slotted at any given time, so the ele equivalent would need a Meteor Shower for every attunement to be equivalent.
Two .. phantasms.. slotted at any time if you’re refering to the kittenty Utility skills no one uses which aren’t damage , then you can have those.
The first idea is just straight up Over the top.

it’s a completely awful idea for skill based PVP.What are you talking about? Nobody kills a phantasm before its first attack. That’s the only thing that making it spawn invuln changes. You can still blind or LoS the cast of the phantasm, you can still dodge the attack of the phantasm, you just can’t kill it within the first few seconds of its life…which isn’t done anyway.
I kill the phantasm or CC it before an attack sometimes when I don’t have a choice; ie. no dodge and I’m too far from the mesmer to CC him.
In high skill gameplay this is not uncommon.
Balancing the game for the lowest skill gameplay where this is impossible is silly.
I realize this is a PVE oriented subforum, but still come on guys, I main mesmer this is blatently OP.
Buffing Mantra of Pain to do instant undodgeable AoE damage is also ridiculous especially with the damage potential and the 3-5 second cooldown.

99.9% of these people stay in soloque or kittenjoin because they’re not really a problem for a strong team.

Gwshack.info Is NOT often outdated not sure who’s spreading this false info around and why but this is the 2nd time I’ve read this on this forum the first time it was blu who said it. It scrapes the GW2 leaderboards and you can see the last update (within 15-30 minutes)
Obviously the GW2 leaderboards themselves lag, but the lag time is within 1 -2hours of actual play.
I have to clean my block list every month because of all the salt in the game.
it literally becomes completely silent everywhere I go.

For everything they “fixed” in the last patch…the created a new and even bigger problem.
On a macro basis, the game is now empty. They got rid of pvp ranks which makes all that effort (which was the ONLY “reward” for PvP before) wasted.
You’re kidding. PvP reward tracks are superior. Ranks mean nothing either then or now.
Instead of fixing underwater combat.
Even if it has an ideal balance and stuff – underwater physics and smooth of movements will kill all fun. Don’t kid yourself.
Reward Tracks only rewards the casuals like you, not the actual core of PvP (which is again a huge let down from A-Net). Second Underwater-Combat is still broken. Taking hotjoin or PvE/WvW as a POV of your experience is pretty unaccurate.
Here I thought the hardcore crowd always tells people how they don’t need rewards to play PvP…
When a hardcore player says rewards he probably means More tournaments like Mistleague, a real ladder and some sort of meaning attached to Leaderboards.
Not hardcore dressup endgame fantasies. (Although I love me some dressup)

Well okay wait; what if it’s only for Team Que(Or Special Custum arenas for High End Tournaments) pvp, and only asura characters?
Most people try out the non-competetive modes of play first and not everybody plays Rats.
There has to be a compromise somewhere; No should be forced to do anything like make a new character but High end Pvp Cannot have imbalances on a base level such as Race or Costumes.(Outfits hide animations/create Animation locks)
Even though Mistleague has banned Asuras, TOL can’t ban them (because anet can’t admit some things even with definitive proof)
Much easier to get top 100 tQ than it is soloQ.

You have to get really good at timing your skills to the end of their evades o_o
Most thieves will make spaces and are not in perma evade mode..
As soon as a space appears you can extend it with a Daze; hopefully your timing and the clone’s Rng movments coincide.
I’ve recently gotten kinda good at calling their shadow refuge and using my 1 second cast KB as they cast SR knocking them out of it as they cast it.
If you can play fearlessly and make the thief go into a panic you can win as a mesmer; but this is mostly mind games, and you have to disable their SR(Mostly luck here, because they can perma evade in it or cast it from stealth)
I feel like balance changes are important, but right now the meta is actually not completely awful sure there’s stuff to work on but it’s never going to be the case that PerfectBalance will be achieved, we keep finding things which are completely cancerous. #Warriors,IncindieryPowder,Strenghtroons+AirFireSigils,OutPlayedByAi.
What we need are Features; by keeping these threads in the community’s eye and not allowing them to leave the front page we might not get everything but we might get something.

I honestly believe that arenanet has two camps one camp that wants to help make PVP the best that it can be and one camp that says that PVP is basically irrelevant, the only way for the first camp to be able to do it’s job is when they can point to player consensus, especially when they have to fight the status quo of Making a profit by selling things in the Gemshop over implementing features.
“Hey look You’re wrong the players really DO want templates, and yes it might hurt us with our character slot sales, but this will be a really great feature for the game”

What I’m tired with in conquest is:
- being forced to fight near/on point, where aoe spam is king and certain builds/classes have distinct advantages.
- being forced to fight in a timely fashion against point bunkers – unlike wvw where you can kite around for half an hour if you like.
- being forced to do a silly dancerotationto cap the points/meaningless objectives.
What makes a fun to play/ Fun to Watch Game mode?
1. Kiting for hours
2.Fighting in one area.
3. No Point Bunkers
Really ? :/ I think that would be an awful to play and awful to watch gamemode..
Without Objectives which concentrate fights (PointsLordFlag) You end up with an unbalanceable Doki-doki-carebear-run-run game mode.
We already have that, It’s called Wvwvw, we don’t need to make PVP into Wvwvw.

Well, When the game is going to be balanced based on 1v1 rather then team fights point control and rotation ability, then these builds will be relevant until then however; 1v1 Builds are pretty much irrelevant;
@Darksteel if you feel “Unranked” is an insult you’re wrong, I’m just stating a fact that you have not even begun experiencing low-mid tier play.

PU Mesmers, Condition Thief, and Straight up Condition Warrior are irrelevant 1v1 builds only used on duel servers. O_o
Evis/Longbow Half Condie warrior is strong because of Burst potential+Point control+1v1 Ability.
There’s like one guy playing condi necro in high end play still.
I feel like Every class has a build for Skyhammer;
Guardian> Meditations Greatsword
Mesmer> Soldier’s amulet shatter Focus/Greatsword
Necro> Fear Chain / Shroud walk w/ Cc immunity trait.
Ranger > CC Immunity trait Longbow5 all day.
Thiekittentealth daze Pull all day.
Engineer > hahahahahaWHEEEEEEE
Elementalist > Uhh.. I dunno actually… Maybe a rocksolid build with Double Armor of earth. Staff or d/d for chaining CC

As of this exact moment there are 203 submissions, not sure of regional splits and this does not factor out any troll or nonvalid entries yet.

There was a dude that used to work for Curse that used to interview them all the time and call them out when the stuff they said wasn’t really lining up with what was actually happening in game. What happened to that guy? .
