I’m playing Druid and occasionally Mesmer.
I am mostly working on:
– Identifying best rotations for situations
- Identifying winnable and unwinnable fights.
- Awareness of where my team and enemy are on the map.
- Skill combos.
- Judgement calls between stomp and res.There are other area’s for improvements but these are the ones that have the most impact on my play style.
I don’t mind being in Emerald. I’m just sick of being spawn camped.

I’ve beaten pre-mades before too, and sure, being a pre-made doesn’t guarantee anything alone, but it does typically indicate a level of coordination that you aren’t likely to get out of a pug. For example, a pre-made is more likely to have voice coms, more likely to have a well balanced party comp, and more likely to have individual strategies worked out.
Keeping such premades quarantined from the general population is just common sense, if you want balanced matches.

It’s just that 5 premades vs 1+1+1+2 is not fair on paper. And I thought they stated this would not be possible anymore.
The game was good, indeed. But that is just cause that premades probably were drunk and not on Teamspeak.

nah, league tickets should only come from crossing league divisions.
I thought that matchmaking system is supposed to make matches between equally skilled opponents. But it doing anything except that. Its so far worst matchmaking system that I ever seen (and I mean exactly that).
current match making find 4 other players with similar skill to you and put you in a team of 5.
it does not consider the other team ’s skill level.
you earn 1 pip for a win
you lose 1 pip for a loss
you earn 1 extra pip on your 3rd consecutive wins and onwards

lost the match, -1 pip, fine, fair.

what if the 480 team is predicted to lose due to lower team MMR ?
at least increase their MMR by a bit, or do not increase, due to good effort in trying to win.

If somebody runs in first and is first to die, they are doing the wrong thing. As soon as someone is being focused, they need to get out of that situation. Be patient at mid, there is no need to go and sit on a neutral point to die. If i get focused hard at mid, i get back behind my team, around walls and such (Los them) until i know i am good to go again. You can get kills this way as well, they follow you to there death. GL with your team.
Yeah just watched some Twitch streams and idk why not a lot of people just leave mid when it’s obvious the cap is gone. Like as soon as someone died, the rest of the team at mid dispersed instead staying mid to just die. Still I’m in Ruby T1 and when I solo Q it’s no different. Team loses 4v4 at start and everything just falls apart from there. Will make sure to pass along this info on my next matches. Thanks m8.

your team got 2 cap at start, and they are down by 1 member, and they must decide to zerg or split.
perhaps it might be easier if anet changed the pvp system so that naked characters behave as if they have full armor on.

Don’t spam chat, but use it to let your team know whats happening. i.e. If you find yourself outnumber and you go down. Let the team know, where and how many are there.

This and the mini map, should let your team make good choices on where to rotate or where NOT to rotate.
Taking 15 seconds to type something isn’t going to work with almost every interaction the other players do. If I need to tell the person to stomp in chat that takes about 5-6 seconds, and more for them to register and actually do it, it’s faster just doing it myself, If I explain to a person why are they off the point stomping when they clearly have a range weapon it takes longer for me to get them to realize what’s going on then actually doing it myself. If I have to tell some one to res me when I’m trying to res or rally, I can’t type res me when I’m about to get stomped. etc, etc, I could go on and on…
I admit there are situations where you can type something while auto running to a point where I have a few seconds to type something but one cannot simply expect to be handheld in every single situation in pvp…

the whole point of conquest is to force uneven team fights in your team’s favor so you get to kill the other team members effectively.

This sounds like pay2win to me; I definitely don’t support this idea. Yes, it can be frustrating, but losing points is part of the risk of queuing ranked.

this proposal will not benefit me of course since i cannot get any win streaks, but it would get the better players out of my division fast so i can duke it out with other average players!

maybe can consider introducing new gem store item
meet the pip protector or pip guard,
final name pending anet’s approval of course!
if you would lose and lose a pip, pip protector or pip guard prevents that one pip loss!
for example, using one pip protector or pip guard would add one stack of pip shield to your pips, preventing pip loss on a ranked match loss!
to protect your previous pips at
emerald 3/20 7/20 11/20 15/20 19/20
sapphire 4/25 9/25 14/25 19/25 24/25
or even 29/30 ruby or 34/35 diamond
pip protector or pip guard would not work in the legendary division though.
you could use them at any pip levels of course, but it would be more economical to save them when you are just one pip away from the next save tier or new division

The only way i can see the system being abused is in pre-ruby divisions. Sitting at a 0 pip tier, losing a bunch to get the 2 pip bonus, then going for win streak? So you would get 2, 1, 1, 2—-?

No, they just shouldn’t be getting paired together against pushovers and getting win streaks like they are. The streaks are the problem.

improve the win streak bonus drastically so that they go back into the divisions where they really belong.
