enfeebling blood on entry to ds def has internal cooldown now
always did. Around 15 to 20 seconds.
necro is broken op. hope you guys are happy.
Broken op? The patch has been out for like 2 hours, and already you’ve decided that necro’s are now OP?
What is it with people, it’s like they scream everytime someone get’s a buff. And tbh the necro needed it!
Full knights armor, 2x cavalier acc and amulet, 2 knight rings.
I tried a few builds including 30 in soul reaping. I quickly found my so far favorite.
30/20/0/0/20
focused talisman, axe training and dhuumfire
weakening shroud and terror
either spectral mastery or path of midnight and master of terror.
I use axe/focus and first tried dagger/wh (or dagger) but have switched for a more defensive set. Now I use axe/focus and scepter/dagger for cripple and 5+ sec poison :P
Consume, wall, spectral walk and locust, plague.
dmg dmg dmg
That doesn’t seem to be the same build, it has less vit than what he has in the video.
You people make elephants out of mole hills. Is it good as it is no… its tiny radius should be as big as greater marks… unblockable part should be with staff mastery.
But its still very much usable in pve… For pvp when you see those tiny graffiti on floor just dodge right over all 4 of them for laughs. If you couldn’t tell if they are blockable or not it would at least be a gamble. But for gods sake don’t blow this out of proportions there are actual problems with this class(a whole kittening train full of problems) and this isn’t at the top of a list.
Whether or not this class has other more pressing issues, is not the topic in this thread.
Just because there are more aggravating problems that need solving, does not mean we can’t discuss the usage of staff, with or without greater marks.
That would be like saying, we can’t discuss which flavor of ice we like the most, because there are much more pressing issues in the world. Just saying.
Really good video, could you please add a specific build link?
I would really like to know, which sigils, runes and armor/trinket sets you use
Remember this isn’t the big patch. They have said that several times. This was just a bug fix patch.
so when are they going to release it?
i thought it would be this one, but it’s not.
maybe next week?
End of the month. On the 30th is my guess.
Just to be certain, and since I can’t get into the game atm, is spiteful talisman working correctly now? With both focus #4 and #5? And with recharge and with range?
What would a wvw solo roam ds build look like? With good dmg that is.
As the title says, what exactly doest bloodthirst affect? (blood magic II)
Inherrent lifestealing from the necromancer class, I am assuming it affects.
But what about the non-necro specific items?
Sigil of blood?
Sigil of leeching?
Rune of vampirism?
Omnomberry pie?
I’m trying out a bunkerish build, and am wondering if I should go for heal on crit or 50% increase in lifesteal. I use sigil of blood, and if the 50% does in fact affect it, then this would probably be preferable to steal on crit (and would even persuade me to use omnomberry pie instead of mango pie).
Anyone know?
Hello, I’ve been playing my necromancer again, and I want to make it easier for me to shroudstomp, but alas I find my keys far apart from one another. T and C and would have to stop for a moment to press the two simultaneously. Anyways, what I’m asking, is it acceptable for me to macro this function to my mouse, to use/press T and C with one click?
I did see the following from the API? I think:
As part of ArenaNet’s policy on third-party programs, we are often asked about multi-boxing and the use of macros. Here is our policy:
Macros
Guild Wars 2 players are permitted to use macros as long as the macros are programmed with a 1 key for 1 function protocol.
This means that if you program a macro, it must require one keystroke per action. You may not program a single key to perform multiple functions.
For example, if you Press A and it results in the casting of a single skill, you’re ok. If you Press A and it casts multiple spells, you’re not ok.
You cannot program a macro to perform the same or multiple actions on more than one account at a time.
You cannot program an “auto-clicker” macro that, for instance, opens chests while you play elsewhere.
Dual- or Multi-Boxing
You may use more than one account at the same time.
You may use more than one computer at the same time.
You must be actively playing on each account.
And as stated above, you may not program your keyboard to perform functions on more than one account at a time.
a. For example, if you press W on your keyboard to move forward, a single character on a single account should move forward. The keystroke or mouse click should not perform functions on more than one account.
And from this, pressing A (in the example given above) resulting in casting several spells is not okay. But, is this considered the same? Anyways, hope someone can give me an answer to clarify
I glow white and I LOVE it! <3
Nice! What color is the skin?
I’ve been melee since level 1, and I’m level 31 now.
Axe/torch and sword/dagger makes quick work of any enemy, with all the conditions I can send out.
In regards to the aggro zone of pets, they changed that in the latest patch, so that pets don’t create aggro when just running around. (afaik at least)
The pet only ever attacks anything, if I am hit or I hit something. It doesn’t attack, even if it ikitten, only me.
According to your build link, you use both life and corruption sigil stacking, I was under the impression you cannot use two different ones?
Just noticed the full on dmg meditation build, gaining fury on being set on fire, has this been changed to work with torch #4? If not, why run this trait? If for no other reason that you get set on fire a lot?
I use both in my solo roamer and the 1k heal per dodge is crazy good. Much more than an extra utility or more power per kill
Well I know a lot of people hate celestial because you can’t max/min your gear with them. I personally love them, I’d rather have a balanced gear set up then doing a lot of damage with little survivability, or vice versa. Sure I won’t excel at anything, but I’m not going to be bad either.
Really just personally preference. Either you love it or hate it. Also the Magic Find is great too.
I’ve been taking lots of advice/directions from this post
I had been tinkering with using GS and scepter/shield (or focus), and it works okayish, however, when there’s more than one guy to fight it becomes really hard I think.
Also considered taking up the sword again, is it great in this build? Compared to the hammer? The great part I’m finding out about the s/t combo is it adds a lot more to this build then the hammer imo. Your burst is obviously going to go up since they’re two of the hardest hitting guard weapons. Survivability also goes up as well. You get a blind/teleport which helps you get out of bad situations, but also a way to stop range attacks.
That being said, I still love the hammer for the amount of CC it brings.
Also for the 1vX, very difficult to judge in this game. Theres been times I’ve beat six players, and other times I lose just to two. It really just comes down to the skill of the other players.
The 1vX I was referring to, was just when using scepter it becomes more difficult to manage multiple enemies.
Dodge heal, heals for 150 hp + healing power in a 1:1 ratio. So, if you have 850 healing power, you’d heal for 1k on dodges.
Superior sigil of life, helps getting higher healing power, without sacrificing too many stats. Signet of Mercy also helps by getting 180 heal power.

In wvw you can wurm port from ground level, to bridges above you. In the north eastern part of the map, where there is a sentry, you can port from below up to the bridge, and there’s a good distance tbh.
wow they also tipped the scale for warriors when fighting guards. Very obvious PvP based things countering guardians. Like unblockable attacks. Do we get to keep our aegis at least when the attack hits? And 3% increased damage per boon on target trait. These abilities/traits are almost useless in PvE…. but certainly made for guard countering…ugh so annoying
cough elementalist countering cough (also)
For the jewelry, which gems did you put in, apart from the ascended ones?
Backpiece- Cavalier
Earrings- Full Berserker and Divinity(all stats)
Rings- Soldier and Cavalier
Amulet- Divinity(all stats)
From your listing, it’s not apparent to me
10/30/0/30/0 with Hammer and Zerker works good. Get 2x runes that improve Protection duration and you’re good to go, fill the rest with Ruby Orbs.
0/0/30/30/10 with Hammer and Zerker is very tanky and almost autopilot in most cases. I’d think if you want a tanky GSword setup this is it too but if you don’t run Zerker or Knights your DPS will be low. Start with Knights if you feel the need but move to Zerker as you get comfortable, keep that crit high.
Blood~
*By ‘Tanky’ do you mean holding agro or just survivability?
How would both of these builds be traited? Especially the 10/30/0/30?
Attack 3,214
Critical Chance 50%
Critical Damage 51%
Armor 2,511
Health 14,025Build: 10/25/10/25
+30% dmg when enemy are burned, in condition and when my endurance is low.
What’s the specific build here? :-) which traits are used? Which weapon besides GS, I couldn’t make it out from the picture.
Wasn’t the show going to be called boon virtued? Or is that a different show?
When I get my final accessory I’ll be at 3,082 attack with greatsword and 100% c. dmg. Considering increasing vitality with the change as well, but I don’t want to sacrifice critical damage (would be 1%, but still.) c. dmg could go up by another 2% and I’d have 2,806 armor. Pondering
What is that helm?
With the new warrior change, will this mean that if my shelter is interrupted, fx by a warrior with a hammer that stuns me, it will go on full CD and not heal? Sorta like if you dodge before the heal?
The image shows my stats fully buffed. I have Sigil of Accuracy on my weapons so my crit chance is 50%. May switch back to 0/5/30/30/5 if I feel I need the extra survivability
How the bloody hell do you get those stats? If you don’t mind me asking
Can you post a link to your armor and jewels?
I don’t know if it’s a known bug, or something else entirely, but when I throw Zealot’s Fire, it really often misses or is obstructed, even on a level surface. Anyone else notice this?
And I thought necromancers’ spectral grasp was bad :/
Lol focus is only good for regen anyway so it’s probably no big deal
So having 3 instant cast blocks, is not something you count as being good? Hmm, riiight.
I run GS – mace/focus and love the survivability.
Do you feel you are more vulnerable without fx focus?
1. Judge’s Intervention
2. Smite Condition
3. Save Yourselves
I run a meditation build, and healing for 2100 hp when I use either meditation is godly, just for that reason. In addition to this, a teleport stunbreaker that burns and sets up ambushes, well yes sir! Smite Condition, instant cast (traited as I have) 16sec 2100 heal that cleanses a condition AND does 2-3k dmg, I’ll take it!
Lastly Save Yourselves, I took this instead of SyG, simply because I love having both offensive and defensive boons in a fight. When using SyG I didn’t feel I had much usage out of it while in a fight, always used it to stomp, and while this is great, I simply love having multiple buffs to help me stay alive a lot longer. In combination with meditations, this works wonders!
Is the build still this: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fUAQBgiIXgtAsHYUjd86hDpIDB ?
With Writ of exaltation instead of empowering might?
Please do, I’m really looking to update my own build, same traits but different setup and gear. Insofar as you would be willing to do so you can plot everything in at http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/ if you didn’t know of it by now, would be much appreciated if you would
How do you find the healing from AH compared to meditation healing? Or do the shouts make up for the lesser healing?
Btw awesome play skills
Is the build listed in the OP still the actual build you’re using? Or has it been changed since you released?
For the love of Thor people, remember to add build and armor/sigil etc etc
At least for me, if I don’t know what’s used in the video I can’t draw inspiration from it.
Did you come to any conclusion regarding build, sigils and other things you may have switched around?
Good video, but would you mind posting a link to your entire build and equipment please?
http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/
This one can have w3 armor.
Do any of you guys (Brando and Krippler) solo roam for 1v1 fights? And if so, how do you fare? Considering the mad bleed ticks you can dish out.
I’ve been considering this too. I saw Nemesis’ video where he runs around in w3 and holy kitten his bleeds are hitting for 120 a pop, now that’s a lot. But I too am not sure about which armor to use and a good build to go with it.
wishful thinking… however I’d very much like this to go through
With 0 in curses, won’t your crit chance be awfully low all of a sudden?
Wouldn’t your overall dmg decrease? Or would this be made up for by the increase in soul reaping?
I find my point still valid, average players should not expect to do honorable 1v1s in WvW, therefor shouldn’t be focusing on finding a very good 1v1 build. You can go for a team play build that works well 1v1, in zerg and at sieges… or you can go for an infiltrator build which relies very heavily on mobility and escape (tankish dagger wielding power build with max mobility + 1 minion + Lich Form for handling 1v1s) but that would be too much information for the average player in one video.
For the average player that just wants to find the big zerg, or some big team group and get into large battles and standard tower/keep sieging all the time, yes, you don’t need to build for 1v1 at all.
Still even for those players, it sits uncomfortable with me that we should tell them, better hope you never get into a 1v1 because you are dead meat.
Also players should remember they can freely swap out utilities, and possibly even switch out traits they have access to, depending what situation they are in. For instance if I was 20 into death magic, in a group I would trait Staff Mastery, but alone I would change to Reaper’s Protection.
The build i was using was (except the gear which i didn’t change) made to do well in 1v1s (as the video shows) but it’s mainly used in team fights and also provides high efficiency while laying siege to something and defending something. So it’s not a bad 1v1 build…
I had a problem with the question/request of “finding a good 1v1 build for WvW” because that build won’t do much for you in reality… you either get a build that can do something 1v1 AND in team fights AND at sieges, and you use it properly or you find a build that can do well in 1v1 AND escape the zergs, and use that the right way as well. Finding a build that does well in 1v1 AND nothing else will eventually give you an unpleasant gaming experience.
It’s all based around what actually happens in World vs World… you could find the build that in some magical divine way you never lose a single 1v1, and then never have a change to do 1v1s… ever… I have exaggerated now just to make a point…
What exactly was the build and gear you were using?
Was it the rampagers off of your hybrid build? Giev details just so we know what was used
Arghh. It seems pretty inane to fix a trait only partially.
You would rather they not fix anything until they can fix everything? It is completely a point of personal preference, (no one can really be right or wrong in this), but I will take a small fix over nothing.
Yes I would, I would rather they fix the whole trait instead of only partially. Why? Because only half fixing the trait really gives the impression they are lazy, or just don’t give a fork.
Honestly, I’m with Bas and Bhawb a great deal along the way, when they’re defending the class, and I don’t usually complain, I try to think of ways around the issues.
But this one just grinds me, it’s just not right to only half-fix a trait. As one guy mentioned, Anet team clapping giving high-fives “nice work team… and Bob”.
So has anybody tested if heals work (regen, life transfer heal trait, etc.) work while in DS now?!?
The point of the ui update was not to let us be healed while in DS, it’s to allow us to see endurance and boons/conditions.
To be honest it is absolutely senseless to fix only part of a non-functioning trait.
I mean, come on, when you fix something, at least have the common decency to do it all the way through, not some kitten lazy “oh well, let’s do the rest tomorrow” sorta thing. Except now we’ll have to wait another month before we see the trait fully functional, maybe!
Can someone post a video of the new DS interface and the new scythe effect on a weapon like gargoyle scythe/scythe skin, and the new life siphon updated tooltips. Thank you.
kitten dark path would’ve been better if it was instant rather than unblockable but oh well, so close..
I second this, or just if someone could upload a photo of the new DS UI, would be cool! I’m very anxious to see how it looks now!
Thanks for the input Talentless, and it was actually a really good tip you gave on the podcast, to get a little of everything, for as cheap as possible. It made me decide trying new things that I was previously reluctant to do so thank you!
Running away is exactly why you’re dying. If you don’t match a thief’s aggression with the same, you’re giving him a massive advantage and throwing away our own inherent advantages.
Also DS can take any combo in the game, stealth doesn’t.
Edit: here are all the thieves I could find solo today, + some messy ele kill. This is hardly proving something, but you asked, and this is all I have recorded.
Which build you running in the video?
