lost half second from chain 1 and 2. But chain 3 now has 5s bleed, longer poison. And skill 3 gets a potential 7 stacks of torment for kitten . Skill 2 received another stack in pvp which is a 33% buff. These are huge.
The lingering curse nerf i dont get either, people werent using it in pvp, and it wasnt OP or anything in PvE. PU was also reduced from 100 to 50% and i cant remember a single complaint about LC.
Technicality but Scepter#3 is 4.5 sec bleed.

I used to like some of his older work, but this just seemed like a “Hey I know better than all u’s kittens out there” and it’s just not cool in my book.
Having condition transfer on shroud was something I was playing with when doing the trait revamp. Plague Sending originally used shroud 1 as its trigger condition rather than critical hit. I ended up changing it because shroud 1 already had several traits that affected it and I didn’t want to overload it, plus the curses line had several traits that affected shroud in some way already. I think it would be a bit overpowered though if Life Blast could transfer conditions on every hit though.
On the topic of increasing the cast speed of Life Blast: I think we would need to lower the damage multiplier if we wanted to increase the cast speed. The damage per second on that skill at its current cast time is already about as high as we are comfortable with. It’s a tricky skill to balance because we’d need to also look at adjusting all the traits that affect it.
Just wanted to chime in here, since I would absolutely love to have the cast time lowered on Life Blast. Agreed that condi transfer is a tad too strong, but lovering the cast would be great since blinds and blocks absolutely destroy the current Life Blast. Bhawb’s suggestion was pretty good so +1 there.
With the upcoming trait changes, which are awesome btw, is there a chance of getting news on existing weapons? I still feel the focus (especially #5) needs some love.

Pretty kitten durable, and gets good damage out with wells and shroud (especially if you get full bloodlust and might stacks).
Basically, it’s a hybrid power/tank build (brawler build, essentially) that’s pretty forgiving of mistakes, to an extent
Maybe I should have stated more clearly that I only every solo roam I don’t like wells much in wvw as I often find my targets can evade the wells entirely.
(and to those who would say, this class isn’t for that, meh you, that’s not what I’m asking to hear. I’m asking for advice.)
Hello necro community.
I’ve played necro since beta, and don’t often post. By I’m growing increasingly concerned with the necro and have become quite disillusioned by the lack of… well, everything a lot of classes just do better.
You might not agree with me at all, but I quite often get the sense that I have to work 2x, 3x as kitten my necro to kill someone (when I’m solo roaming) than when I switch to one of my other characters (80 of every class). This kind of forces me to go full ham on condis, which I do well with obv since it does good dmg, however I’m still getting completely wrecked by mesmers (both power, condi), good thieves, good rangers.
Now you might be thinking, well hey you do well against every other class, and you shouldn’t be able to beat everyone. But I do like to fell I at least have a chance in hell, and a 15-18k burst from a mesmer just leaves me with the feeling I’m not entirely as effective, or defensive as I should be.
So in summation, I prolly suck. Give me tips so that I at least have a chance against every class, most annoyingly mesmers.

It wouldn’t show up since the bonus would vary from foe to foe depending on how many conditions they have. Similar to how Right Hand Strength (guardian trait +15% crit chance for 1 handed weapons) doesn’t show the increased crit chance because it only applies to your mainhand weapon and not your offhand.

I can think of one enemy that will potentially break you.
A hammer warrior with Rampage.
You have only 1 stun break, and an elite that might save you if you managed to morph and invis in time. Other than that, all the stuns from the warrior will break your build.

I only ever solo roam, 95% on my necro. I have yet to meet a class that I can’t beat.
Do I lose sometimes? Ofc, but I’d say I win at least 75% of my encounters (no help no adding players etc). Believe me or not, idc tbh what I run works very well.
Tbh, and I know you shouldn’t compare, but I can’t sympathize with any classes “poor” traits, compared to the necromancer. The necro flat out has the most worst traits, both major and minor. I play every single class cept thief, and I can say this in all honesty.
To clarify, this isn’t to say that there aren’t traits (major and minor) that should be fixed across the board, there deffo is. But I can’t sympathize at all since the necro has so many bad traits it’s almost embarrassing.
I’ve been playing warrior since beta. I spend most of my time in WvW, that is the basis of theory crafting starts for this build. [b]T.

Is clicking slower than keybinds? Yes for sure. Does this mean you auto fail? No it does not. I’ve seen Ascii destroy anyone he faces, he clicks. This in-yo-mamas-face attitude that clicking automatically means you’re bad is so 2007 to look at.
Try a 3/0/5/0/6 taking normal traits in soul reaping and spite and using protection on wells with either reapers protection or death shivers for aoe vuln application.
I’ve run this here and there using zerker necklace and pack runes and minus the burst from chill of death an20close to death I’d say it’s damage keeps up fairly well since if you are near your opponent in DS enough the extra vuln from death shivers gives you more dmg to targets above half and evens out when they are below. Also gives you a bit more teamfighting usefullness with aoe vuln spam possibility and aoe protection for allies standing in your wells.
And that would change the entire build. So this isn’t exactly criticism of this build, it’s a
suggestion to use something else entirely. Which would normally be fine, except that he prolly wants suggestions on this build.
Anyways, I’m running this exact same build, and have been doing so for like half a year. It works great, It’s quite fun I use it with soldiers gear for survival, not the best dps but wears people down eventually :P
25 stability stack Arenanet keeps kittening up their game now hammer is useless
Bit early to call that isn’kitten Just saw the POI and this helps hammer more than ruins it. Since you can now force stability off of your opponents, compared to rangers now having 20 secs of stability ^^ or whichever class that has good sources of stab.
What stability update are we talking about again?

The ranger never gets the stun, that’s why they aren’t interrupted.
It is working as intended. You have to become stunned or disabled, before the trait kicks in, it will not work as an “immunity”, in the sense that the first stun will not interrupt etc.
Sorry my bad there, I was thinking of whirl. See the two skills are constantly used together, so yeah 20 on rush 10 on whirl, it doesn’t work imo.

Are you kidding? You trying to make it sound like surviving is a bad thing? Then all thieves, rangers, mesmers and engineers are all a bunch of p*****s as well, due to stealth/charge/run/jumpback or whatever.
I’ve changed up my build a bit over the past few weeks. I’ve gone back to the old 2/6/6/0/0 medi build with increased crit on one handers. Against both mesmers and engy’s I just stay at range blasting my scepter/focus and get them as low as possible, while spamming blinds and immob. When they DO get near me I’ll switch to hydromancy greatsword and dish out the killing blow. If they survive I’ll try to kite again and keep going until they do die it’s what I’ve found works best for me at least

I’ve been having an issue of late, when I right click near the edge of my screen and move my mouse in the direction of my 2nd monitor, followed by a click of the mouse, I minimize the game.
Some of you may have heard about it, but I’ve only begun to experience this issue now. Has there been any way of fixing this that I do not know about?
Why wiki sequence / chain Blood Curse, Rending Curse and Putrid Curse notes say that it takes 3.0 sec.?
Using a stopwatch, I found that the chain is performed approximately 2:20 sec and the activation time is 1/2 each curse.
Should be performed in more or in less time?And why Grasping Dead inflicts only 2 stacks of bleeding in pvp as it deals 3 in WvW or PvE? is too strong 3 stack for PvP?
They shaved aoe capability in PvP.. You’ll notice mark of blood also only does 2 stacks of bleed. About the chain I cannot say, cause I have no idea.

I’m guessing this must be a graphical bug. The butterfly is not showing on the Luminescent Pauldrons (heavy), when equipped on an Asura.
It’s not really possible to have a build good at both wvw and pve, because they are so different. At the very least, you’ll have to change your traits and skill bar.
here is a really good pve build.
here is a decent wvw build. I tried to keep the armour the same as the above build as much as possible but I changed the trinkets because otherwise you’ll just insta-die. Bear in mind D/F isn’t that great for WvW anyway, but if you’re just zerging this should be fine.
I respectfully disagree on the last part there, d/f is amazing in wvw soloing. There’s preference, yes. That is subjective, yes. But d/f is very viable.
I am by no means an expert, in fact I only got to 80 2 weeks ago, however I think the majority of people talk about celerity stats, since a lot of what you can do, is affected by all of its stats.
I’ve played around with s/f, d/d and I like d/f the best it has a lot of neat tricks
I have spent tons and tons of money (irl cash) on this game, but with this change I won’t ever again, until they revert. Not being able to exchange every gem you have for gold is too stupid. What the hell am I supposed to do with 30 or so gems in my bag?! Who the heck came up with this and thought “hey this is awesome?” – once you’ve found this person, fire him or her, cause it’s braindead stupid.

The reason why I’m not going cookie cutter dd build is, well, it doesn’t suit me. It might just be that I can’t figure out how to play it, but it doesn’t work for me.
I’m s/f not d/d however, the build does ok direct damage, but when they passively cleanse immob (or decreases it immensely) it makes it difficult to land Dragon’s tooth (read: impossible)

I’ve been running a condi build, and it’s working quite well. However, I’ve found I’m having lots of trouble spiking down high-health-regen opponents, even with the doom sigil.
Warriors and guards are very tough and can basically just run away from me, since I rely on conditions to do the job, they cleanse or ignore confusion and it becomes quite moot. Meet a warrior in wvw who I couldn’t get under 90% with crazy regen :S
I was contemplating dropping earth sigil, though it’s usually pretty good in 1v1’s for something else, but I don’t really know. Any suggestions?

They fixed it with the staff range of necro’s. So they should be able to fix this as well.
Well the D/F builds I use all rely on Air attunements. 0-6-0-2-6. Against range enemies Focus can easily reflect back most of their damage and cleanse a bit. This makes the common engineers and rangers build have a disadvantage. Obsidian Armor enable elementalist to get a full heal with ether renewal, dodging in water to heal, critical hits giving a passive regen , and FA/LR for burst. FA is like halving the cd on air attunement swap or LR gives 3 of a D/F cc skills(shock aura, gust, comet) damage and weakness.

That was probably me. I recently faced a condi engi that it was taking longer than usual to take down and i was forced to flee seeing 2 more enemies were coming. . With perpl runes the fights don’t take as long but that just makes it one sided most of the time and that is boring. I used one of my condition builds.
I don’t think it was me, we fought for a very long time and I accidentally scooted off a cliff, when I returned we parted ways. No others were nearby.
How big were his heals and regens? He cleanse a lot of your condi’s? Was he tanky?
I’m not sure how it is on your server or tier, but in T1, Dire/Apoth/Settler’s mix sets with various 6 earth trait builds and perplexity runes are gaining in popularity.
some go 0/0/6/6/2, 0/0/6/4/4, 0/0/6/2/6, 2/0/6/2/4, 2/0/6/6/0 etc etc.
He was medium tanky, but I could still spike him, as he got quite low at some point. He healed for a very high amount though everytime he went into water attune, and cleansed a lot, so I’m guessing at least 4 in water.

I went up against a d/f build in wvw that I simply could not take down, he couldn’t take my engy down either, but it was a great fight. Just wondering what build did he use?
It was d/f and did both direct and condi dmg, so I’m guessing he used celestial outfit. But do you guys know the trait setup for the build?
Also, I’m guessing he used signet of earth, other than that I’m not sure what he used.
Its not a nerf, and who actually routinely sat in DS so long that it fully ran out of LF and then had enough LF in the next few seconds that it would make a difference? It was a bug fix to something that was obviously a bug. Death Shroud was always supposed to have a 10s CD between uses, this was simply a special case because it has some coding from transforms that gave it this functionality.
Is it a small nerf? Sure. But stop acting like ANet has it out for you personally. It was not an intended function, so it was removed.

But I did, I did exactly what you mentioned sat in DS for very long periods of time, the no CD on complete depletion has saved me numorous times. One press of SA, one hit on me and I could go back in. I had tons of sustain in my spectral build, and it was the only thing keeping me alive.
So the question from me is, is it better to spec for Dark Path, or to keep Dumbfire? With my current 30/20/0/0/20, to maybe turn it into 20/30/0/0/20 since I’ve already traited for DS abilities. Hmm tough question, and I mostly run sPvP.
