If you bang the same mob for the heart, doesnt it…kinda…make…it faster?
Unless you want some kind of bonus experience for the sake of bromance.
No it doesn’t cause we normally run out of mobs and have to find crap to click on the ground, we have to find 2x more because it doesn’t share and then have to wait on the one that’s not done… so in the end, it’s faster when we’re solo.
Under most circumstances the stuff you interact with on the ground is also account-bound. In like 85% of the cases it will only be used by you and your friend will be able to use it as well.
What would also be nice is if you try to join into a full map you can join a queue for that map. So many time my guild will be doing a Triple trouble wurm kill with other guilds and one or two guildies get locked out and they get carpal tunnel trying to spam the join button to get in.
I think Anet needs to clarify this. More often than not, its the only way to organize
large groups for the more difficult world bosses, specifically triple trouble.
They’ve already acknowledge that they don’t care if people use LFG to sell paths, so if they don’t care about that but care about taxiing people into the maps I’d be not only surprised but incredibly confused. Ignore that other guy, he has no clue what he is going on about.
And like I said, you can turn all of that stuff off.
Also that “keylogger” is for the built in search engine. Google and every other search engine do the same exact thing. You’re surprised? Just disable everything it isn’t that hard.

It is not for getting players into the same map.
It is for the formation of a group. They spell that out explicitly. So if you advertise an event (SW, Teq, whatever) and people join you and stay in your group you are fine.
However, most Taxis specifically instruct people to join and leave.
Thus you are not using it to form a group. Strike one.
You are using it to advertise an access portal, which they explicitly say is not allowed in a post further down. Strike two.

All I’m reading is “I hate fun, don’t have fun, wah wah Q.Q”
An indicator would be nice, sure.
But you’ll want to be careful, using LFG to taxi people is technically against the rules.
If anet started banning people for doing that the game would die. Anet makes everything a numbers game, they have no right to complain when people play a numbers game.
I’ve never though celestial was any good. Its a set filled with a bunch of mostly useless stats and the good stats are all much lower than anything else. The short version is that celestial generally sucks.
ITT: People who think microsoft collecting random data is a crime. Just go to your privacy settings, turn everything you don’t want off and done.
The bigger issue with Windows 10 is that they seem to have killed the idea of turning off windows update or choosing not to install certain updates. That is actually the only real issue I have with windows 10 right now.

Are you complaining that you can see at night? The day this game becomes some bullkitten where you need to squint and can’t see at night is the day I leave. Get over that kitten, turn your brightness down or something.
I’m OK with it being available from the laurel merchant for 150-200 laurels after you’ve cleared the maps the first time.
You’re okay with losing out on 450 – 600 T6 mats? O_o
These are the same people who will post next week like “Why is everybody else so rich?” or “T6 mats are too hard to get.”.
They rather spend 2-4 months worth of laurels than just spend the 3 days doing world completion. They want to be rewarded for their laziness.
In case you didn’t spot the sig I main ele and necro, do you think I want cele nerfed lol?
The stats are the problem. I’m kittening tired of looking at every build and thinking “this would be better if I just went cele instead”.
Cele is literally mathematically better for no reason. There’s nothing to argue there. It’s just a fact.
But it isn’t…. You lose way too much power……
I never rocked it because its dumb and removed my hair. If I wanted to be bald I’d have picked a bald hairstyle.
Wow, you had a well thought out suggestion that would make Dragonhunter not suck and all of these fanboys kitten on it. I don’t know why you even bothered. Anet has some of the most delusional fanboys I’ve ever seen.
Screwed like Guardian.
There is nothing wrong with rewarding people who have been loyal customers from the beginning with exclusive content, quit whining. It isn’t like the tribal skins that were entirely RNG based, this was something you literally just had to log on for an hour or two to get. If you had an account and didn’t get it it is your own fault. If you just started now, well there are other skins in the game why do you feel like you must have everything the people who have been playing for years have. Will you cry that they have more daily achievement points than you too? Do you want free AP to catch up? Ridiculous self-entitled people.
World completion is rewarding enough to motivate you to do it again. I’ve done in 9 times and am working on 10th.
Absolutely NOT ! I have 9,3k hours played! I, just as people like me, DESERVE to have something which will show how long we,ve been playing ! There are very few items that show since when are we in the game … that’s also why I’m against Bunny Ears being added back to gemstore.
Only achievements showing that is not enough, people don’t see them unless they party with you or add you to friends.Except they don’t show that at all. I have just over 2,000 hours in the game and I’ve got them. People with less than 100 hours could have them.
The only thing they prove is that back in August 2013 you completed 8 achievements. That’s it. You may associate them with other activities from before or after, but they don’t prove you did that to anyone but you.
Yea I played 3k hours but dident get them since my computer was in for repair july to early september =(
Your computer was in for repair for 3 months? I find that unlikely and am going to call bullkitten.
Except you can do higher level fractals. They are just tougher without the AR. Its just the min maxers that want X amount of it.
Further – as has been said, if you really want to run all your characters through fractals (i dunno why) that is why there are infusions. Put the AR in the jewelry.
That said, the system IS CLUNKY. And needs a bit of an overhaul. Not even sure how exactly… its just meh. Maybe just make it like magic find (account bound) and have it either 1. completing a fractal scale bumps your account’s resistance up or 2. its like luck, you buy and consume the AR and level it up that way. *
Both ways can keep the AR that drops/is sellable on TP as you can still get extras that way on rings and infusions and stats and what not.
Good luck doing a level 50 without the proper AR. “Oh, I’m dead again… because I literally cannot survive the random AR checks that happen multiple times a minute.”
It kinda seems like you hate the game, y’know… if you despise pretty much every change that it’s gone through in the last year or two, then why are you even still playing?
I agree with OP, but my answer to your question is simple: Money and Investments.
I had a lot of issues with changes, from having double skins merged into 1 for wardrobe purposes to owning the same expensive dyes across all 8 characters (at the time) to the constant neglect towards the only game mode I enjoy, WvW. (which were all paid for in cash/gems)
Having played the game for 6-7 thousand hours and investing over $1000 into gems, it’s hard to walk away from that. Recent announcements about the expansion prices and further neglect towards WvW should make it easier for me to leave though and I look forward to that day where I can start investing my money on stable products where I know what I purchase with real money isn’t stripped from me without a refund.
It’s actually really insulting, you wouldn’t like to pay for a new PC and all it’s features only to have an update that renders most of what you paid for invalid.
Except they did offer a refund on town clothes.
Only within a certain time period though. I took a break because of the changes for a couple months and got back it was too late. I found out they let everybody else get refunds but I got screwed.
I haven’t had any issues with Windows 10 so far. Even drivers weren’t an issue for me. Ran driver uninstall utility (or whatever its called, use to be driver sweeper?) removed old drivers and installed the new ones no problem. Performance hasn’t changed in any noticeable way for me but that doesn’t mean it isn’t there.
I would wait until at least the third birthday, since it’s so close now.
Do character slots ever go on sale? (hopefully so as I want at least one for each profession)
Yes, they go on sale every now and then. From 800 gems usually down to 600.
It simple: You shouldn’t keep characters you don’t like or use.
I would only have one toon if I followed this logic.
Just get more character slots. Deleting birthday characters is always foolish. I’m a huge fool with only one original character from the headstart left, regrets.. regrets everywhere.
Between the name, the poorly designed weapon skills, and the fact that they gave us traps it is obvious they picked the worst 3 things to give Guardian on purpose. Then when the community hated it all they even went as far as to call us all dumb and say we just weren’t able to understand such “high concepts”.
They were only given out for real life events. Don’t count on them being readded. Also they use to be town clothes and now they’re only available in a kittenty tonic form.
(edited by Dinks.2478)
People will always find something to whine about. Anet tries to give us more progression while making it so we don’t have to spend 40 minutes to do max level fractals and people still find kitten to whine about.
It’s perfect as it is. You don’t have to use it. :P
An option to disable other players minis would do, just like other games have them, for those who don’t like it.There’s far more annying stuff like max height Charr / Norn with huge Wings or almost everyone using a legendary greatsword, while the slashing animation REALLY sucks in combat.
I actually like it a lot and do plan to use it when the initial hype dies down a bit (too many people currently using it).
“Turn off all minis because one is over-sized and ruins it” is not an appropriate solution.
They’re minis, miniatures, mini-pets, non-combat pets. This mystic dragon is over-sized not only by GW2 standards, but by the standards of most MMOs I’ve played. WoW, Tera, FF14, mags in PSO2, this thing is big no matter how you look at it.
GW2’s minis are perhaps on the small size compared to other games, and could maybe use a size increase in general if you want to get picky about it. But this Mystic Dragon is just huge.
Like I said in the OP, I can appreciate that some people preferentially like this larger size. I’m not going to say you’re not allowed to like it. However I am going to say that this is an MMO, and that you occupy the same game space as other players. Imagine if every mini in the game was of comparable scale to the Mystic Dragon, roughly the size of a human. The fact that some people like it being large and in-your-face isn’t much of an argument for keeping the current size.
Yeah, I am occupying the same “space” as them. And I want them to see my mini, not for it to become some obscure footnote that nobody sees because its too small.
As the title states, the mystic dragon “mini” is far too large.
While I can appreciate that some people preferentially like this, please consider that these are supposed to be miniatures, and that something that large and long is getting obstructive.
It seriously occupies more screen space then several ranger combat pets. That’s partly a result of its profile and animations rather then sheer physical size, but the size itself is fairly large too.
Even scaling it down to half of its current size would still leave it as one of the larger and more showy minis.
It’s a great looking mini, I love it, but the size is just too much.
Nah, its a good size. If anything most other minis are too small.
It’s DR. And it was not intended for you to be able to park a character at the end of a mini-dungeon just to skip over everything but the end and get loot, so be careful what you ask for. Probably the easiest way for Arenanet to fix the issue is to port you out of the area if you logout inside of it.
If they don’t want people parking there they should have though about that before making an achievement for getting his ring that rarely drops and takes long enough to get even when parking a character there.
Obviously we all will have different ideas on whats a good look. Here is my norn Elementalist though.
the bugs are mostly fixed. IE the trait points / unlocks, etc are fixed.
I assure you they are not, even thats not a big deal though. Its not game breaking in any way.
Why? I haven’t noticed any problems outside of the small graphical glitch telling us to train. I still have all of my skills/traits. Stop whining.
“Stop whining”?
LOL-maybe you ought to read the bugs area and the fact Anet has acknowledged the various problems being reported. I suspect you are trolling or just living up to your name. No, you’re all making a big deal out of a non-issue. Sure its annoying that it keeps telling me to train my skills/traits but its just a graphical thing. It will go away eventually when they fix it and until then it doesn’t affect my gameplay at all. I have noticed zero game play issues since patch. Anet may be acknowledging issues but none of those issues are rollback worthy nor do they warrant the crybaby reaction that is going on.
Try playing Living Story Season 2, then we can talk again.
K, just did one of the episodes. What is the issue?

I use OBS (Open Broadcaster Software), it is free, generally easy to use, and pretty easy to find a good balance between quality and file size.
Don’t you get more laurels now per month than you use to?
With the current system you get 55 laurels a month. With the old system you got one per day + 10 per month. So around 40-41 a month. I’m not seeing the issue here?
- They use to, but we already have enough ways to get ascended jewelry we don’t need a crafting profession for it.
- The greatswords are all basically the same weapon, they’re just 2 sides of the same coin.
- Spoken like a true person who has never done a meta/speedclear run. Try to run a dungeon in all zerker without knowing how to play or having proper builds on. Tell me how that works out for you.
- No trading is by design, that way nobody cries that they were scammed.
- I will agree that megaserver has ruined the game, both the community and ability to get into the same maps as your friends.
Ignoring all the fanboys here to whiteknight Anet, yes I remember the manifesto and I am as disappointed as well. Anet can backtrack and pretend they meant something else all they want but it won’t change the reality that this isn’t the game we were promised.
Every week a new thread full of people complaining about the zerker meta instead of just forming their own lfg where zerker isn’t required. Is it so hard to just form your own group? Everything is viable, some people just like to find the meta-game. It happens in every MMO since the beginning of MMO’s and will continue long after GW2 is dead. You don’t have to play Meta, what you have to do is respect people that want to and stay out of their parties.
Typical older generation complaining about the younger generations economic position. It is the older generation that ruined the economy so keep your ideas on how the younger generation manages its finances and perceives value to yourself unless you want to open that can of worms.
short and simple answer. Anet is entirely opaque. They don’t share their intentions. They hardly reply to players.
Most of the people I know came from GW1, we know the Anet of yesterday. The kind Anet with developers that made themselves part of the community that involved themselves in the every day occurrences of their playerbase. Todays Anet is a pale shadow of that great Anet that we all loved and we wish they’d wake the hell up and start caring about the quality of their game instead of penny pinching again.
lol, its one week. You still use WvW siege to play WvW. Get over it already.
It is simple, just join with whatever gear you want in any group. You don’t need to wear zerk gear at all even if they ask for it.
I joined many “ZERK ONLY” groups, wearing nothing but soldier gear.100% of the time, The run goes fine.
That is incredibly rude. You expect others to respect the way you want to play but have no respect for other gamers or the way they want to play. So instead of joining a casual group you join a zerker only group without zerker and not only slow down their run but make it harder for them because one person not in zerker can cause a zerker player to be hit more often.
I expect the run to go fine. And it does, 100% of the time whenever I feel like wearing my soldier gear.
I don’t join casual groups because the run is never 100% fine. Usually, it is 40% that is fine.
It might go 100% fine but it definitely got slower and you definitely got carried even if just a little compared to everybody else. If I ever see you in my group its auto-kick for you. People like you are ridiculous. The same type who would cry if you were trying to sPvP or WvW and I kept joining your team with no armor on.
Except, I don’t cry about the zerker meta bullies. I embrace it.
This is more like other spvpers and WvWers cry at me because I play a non-meta build and they die a lot, so then they blame me.
You embrace it by ruining the game for other people. So basically you’re a rude jerk.
The irony and hypocrisy of screwing over other people who want to play their own way so that you can play your own way is just painful. This thread is going nowhere because it is full of self-righteous jerks like yourself who feel that because they “play how they want” it justifies kittenting on the playstyles of other people. Setting LFG requirements is acceptable, ignoring them and ruining the groups of those people is not.Except, I haven’t ruin the game for other people. The runs goes fine 100% of the time. They don’t notice their experience being ruined at all.
They notice it, I always notice it. I’m just not a jerk like you so I let it go and realize that I won’t stoop to the level of the inconsiderate jerks who joined my party with no regard to me or the other members of my party. The runs always take longer when people like you join.
It is like the people at Teq who refuse to take off their soldiers gear now that you need to crit him to kill him. No respect for other players, just your own selfish needs.
I spy an excuse to cover up the inability to see a slight loss of dps.
You’re running soldiers gear they might as well 4 man the dungeon. It would practically be the same thing as far as damage output goes. This isn’t an opinion it is a fact. Pure power is mostly useless without ferocity/precision. Anybody who regularly runs dungeons would notice the damage difference without the high crit damage and high crit chance.
It is simple, just join with whatever gear you want in any group. You don’t need to wear zerk gear at all even if they ask for it.

How is it not hypocritical?
Since you addressed nothing in my post, I’ll assume you just didn’t read it.
I read it. You said it was not hypocritical for play how I want players to criticize zerker players.
I asked why not.
Now answer my question. Or should I assume you didn’t read my post?
The answer to that question was in my post.
*sigh
To repeat a different way:
“Play as you want” does not extend to social elements. If it did then WoW is “play as you want”. Can you play a WoW raid/dungeon without tanks or healers? Technically yes. But most follow a set meta and are therefore playing with like minded players and “playing as they want”. Since “play as you want” was meant to be a rebuttal of WoW style MMORPG then it is rather silly to interpret “play as you want” to include social elements, because if it did then “play as you want” means nothing at all.“Play as you want” applies only to individual play styles. Not to who you want to play with. For “play as want” to mean anything, it means that you play with everyone.
I want to play with like-minded individuals. The key words being “want to play” which is equal to “play how you want”. My INDIVIDUAL way I want to play is with like-minded individuals who also have the same INDIVIDUAL way they want to play. So basically what I am saying is, play how you want means playing with certain people that you want to play with.
The way you define the term makes it meaningless and is clearly not what other people are talking about.
The way you run your character has nothing to do with how other people run their characters. “Play as you want” not “Play as we want”
You’re straight up ignoring what it means in favor of your own selfish argument. You want to be able to play how you want and ignore how everybody else who wants to play differently wants to play so you ignore the meaning of the phrase when convenient.
Let us be honest here. Why should non-meta players be able to force meta players into their less efficient parties but meta players can’t force non-meta players out of their parties? It would be like forcing pro-abortion people to hang out with anti-abortion people. People want to hang out with people that have the same interests and think the same way as them and they should be able to.
How is it not hypocritical?
Since you addressed nothing in my post, I’ll assume you just didn’t read it.

It’s amazing seeing people wonder how others could possibly have trouble tolerating their intolerance of playing with certain players they deem inferior.
Anyone who holds the maxim, “Anyone should play as they want.” does not have to accept “Players can play with only like minded players”. The first is talking about individual play styles not group dynamics. The latter is extending “play as you want” to social dynamics. Which is a ridiculous leap of logic. The whole “no holy trinity” “play as you want” ideal is that you will play with any player not that you are suppose to go around excluding players.
Does that make zerker only groups wrong? That point doesn’t. It just shows how “play as you want” advocates are not hypocritical when critiquing zerker-only groups. But since the vast majority of meta elitist in this thread would be offended by now, no one is reading this last bit and will just assume the above point is saying zerker groups are wrong and then they will try to attack that straw-man interpretation of the point.
If playing with like-minded people is how you want to play then by definition it is wrong to say people shouldn’t play with who they want to if you are a play how you want player.
