Why do people who don’t understand the meta always try to comment on ways to change it? Who stacks? This is not a valid strategy that anybody who runs the meta has used since the FGS nerf.

  2. Actual communication between Anet and Players and not just from the PR people trying to spin things.
  3. Test servers so things like this weekend don’t happen again or happen less often and with less fallout.
  4. Return of festivals and returnable content that were completely glanced over and ignored this year.

This is the worst PVE event ever for GW2

The 30+ target for extra rewards is impossible to hit in that timegap.

20 stacks give you the maximum rewards and you can do it without leeching much, even if you do have to leech a little if you know what you are doing.

Without leeching much? Dafq are u talking about? I just did an event with 21 (in the very last 5 seconds). You know what it took to do that? I LITERALLY leeched EVERY event possible. I went in…killed 3-4 mobs..went to the next…and so on. That’s it, and i BARELY made it.

Is this honestly the kind of mentality you want to see being promoted in your favorite mmo? Constant leeching?

No, it’s a terrible design that should never be in the game and shouldn’t be in the game in the future.

But there is a difference between needed +30 stacks and leeching everything.

Or

Needed 20 stack so I leech 15 events and then do between 5 and 7 events completely.

It’s bad, but less bad that you said. And It can be even better. If you have a group of less than 10 people that know what they are doing, you can complete near the 20 events legit, but that hard. Event overscale with a lot of people. With a small group it can be super fast. The 3 catapults almost never die, the booms go quicly and you can burst the vine with a shield in one shot. This way, events go SUPER fast.

But it still encourages leeching as it is the simpler system. For an event that is supposedly meant for new players there are a lot of concepts in your post that they just wouldn’t get. How would they know what event scaling is? They are just following the tag around because it is the easiest thing for them. Hell they’re new players, they probably don’t even have 10 friends yet. Not to mention the absolute confusion and chaos that is not being rewarded for events and mobs not dropping loot. What game is this? Why have the rules changed so suddenly. Oh, I get rewards at the end, okay this isn’t that bad. But why isn’t it consistent? I got 30 blooms in this map earlier for the same stacks but now I only got 10. Well let me check out the rewards. Oh, 100,200,400 of these blooms I need to grind while not receiving any gold or silver or even copper PLUS a lot of gold.

I don’t know about you but this isn’t what an event that is designed for guilds and new players look like. And it sure as hell isn’t what the first content to come out after 10 months of content drought looks like.

IMHO the reason why the community was nicer in the past was that the
content was so easy and mostly couldn’t fail. Nobody is calling people names
when a Worldboss takes a little longer .. but if it fails .. then i begins.

So in the end, the more ANet listens to the “make it harder, give us more fails” croud
the more toxic the map chat will get.

Difficulty is not a problem, TTW isn’t toxic. This event isn’t hard, if anything it is super easy. There are no rewards, that is the problem.

I agree that it can be off-putting to the new players but I don’t see how that should mean that I should accept having my day ruined because I want one of the rewards and I can’t get blooms because it doesn’t work. If you want one of the potions you need to play for 90 hours out of the 96 available hours that this event is up. As if it isn’t already nearly impossible but it doesn’t give you rewards on top of that? It is frustrating. And it is even more frustrating having people in map chat telling you that it doesn’t matter if you don’t get rewards.

This sort of attitude is exactly the problem. Flame me all you want, but people with your sort of opinion need to take a break from the game. It has become a job where you’re expecting an hourly wage. This events intent was to bring guilds into these low level zones and expose new players who otherwise might never have met them. The event is bugged. That’s a bummer, but this is a game, not a job. You and people like you are treating it that way and that is the source of the toxicity. Having a tantrum because you didn’t get a reward and claiming your Entire day was ruined as a result is, frankly, ridiculous. A game is about having fun. The moment you aren’t having fun is the moment you need to stop and do something else for a little while.

Getting rewarded is the fun. Getting skins is the fun. Don’t pretend like your definition of fun is the only one that exists. That is more toxic than anything else. We’re all entitled to our own version of fun and having content not reward me is not an acceptable form of it. If you can honestly say to my face that you find this content fun and rewarding without rewards I have no choice but to believe you but I’d still be skeptical.

Hey guys, can I have a word?

If being kittened off that the event is broken after 9 months of nothing and that nothing has been done to fix it is toxic then yeah, I am pretty toxic and that is something I am justified in being.

ARE YOU JOKING. the halo is 450, lets say you actually do get the reward (im aware they are fixing it) and lets say you’re unlucky and get 5 each time. each event is 30 minutes long, it will take you 90 runs to get to 450. 90 minutes time 30 runs is 2700 minutes, which is 45 hours. FORTY FIVE HOURS. In a four day event? four days and you have to spend a entire day and a half playing guild wars to get that reward? what the actual heck are you guys thinking.

90 hours is still correct. Since it is every half hour you still have to spend 30 minutes between each 30 minute event waiting. So it is 90 hours in an event that will be up for 4 days (96 hours).

It’s something you want but don’t need. It’s not a new tier

many players would argue the same thing about ascended in fact i know quite a few players who haven’t even bothered to make ascended yet coz its stat gain benefit is so insignificant
so anyone who made it didn’t relay need it they wanted it coz i think we can all agree that you can manage just as well without it using exotic armours
i think too many players are hung up on the fact that theres no better stats on it and compleatly missing the fact that this armour IS better than ascended simply because of the option to change stats
no matter how i look at it i see this as an upgrade and the next step up on armour quality

I wouldn’t personally say that 15% increase was insignificant but I guess to each their own.

I wouldn’t either if that number was true….

Math is already out there, its a 5-7% increase AT MOST, not even close to 15%

No, it is definitely more than 5%. Higher weapon damage, higher power, precision, ferocity, higher everything. All of those things are multiplicative. The damage output doesn’t go up in a flat 5% it goes up to more like 12-15%. Math is math is math.

And yet here I am as the worst condi guardian in the world. Lost 15 of my 15 games last night as a condi guard, only won once I switched to some silly bunker bullkitten.

But seriously, OP, you’re just biased and bitter. Condi builds are no easier or harder than any other build. Pressing a button to deal 5k damage instantly is no harder than pressing a button to do 1k damage instantly and 4k damage over the next few seconds.

Actually it is. Most condi skills are ranged. And once you apply them you can walk away and watch your enemy die while they make a futile attempt to close the distance and fight you. They might clear your condis once or twice but since condi cds are incredibly broken you’ll just reapply the condis instantly while they die without the ability to fight back. I know this because I switched to condi and do this to people because it is the only way to be competitive in PvP.

Basically this, this is truth.

There’ll always be a number of people claiming existing content is easy, which is not true. Some of it yes, some of it is still challenging. You have to define what challenging is, really. Hammer fractal is challenging, for a pug. I still go into lfg groups that fail it so I rage quit because no matter how many times I explain how to do it, it doesn’t happen.

Other groups I join are steady groups of friends who race through the fractal => they will say it’s easy.
When you say something is easy or challenging you have to keep in mind which group of people you are talking about.

With raids, they can’t make them so challenging that only 1% of people complete them => only the steady groups. Then the rest of the people will simply not do the raids at all, because they don’t have time to dedicate to them or don’t have people to constantly practice them with.

So if raids are so utterly challenging that they can’t be completed by a half -pug, and if rewards are RNGed so I will see 1 reward in a year => yeah that’ll ruin the game for me and I’ll quit, like I quit other mmo’s because of raiding. 6h of standing around trying the boss and at the end no guaranteed reward for months? No thx.

There’s a balance Anet have to strike between challenging and too challenging. They are trying for engaging combat that feels risky and challenging and yet it mustn’t be impossible to do, I guess we’ll see how it will be.

Constant claims however that everything current is easy I’m sick of. No one does Arah p4 because it’s challenging. All Arah paths are in fact challenging. Some people will tell you it’s easy and the only reason they don’t do it is that it takes a long time. True. But taking X amount of time is part of definition of challenge for some.

It’s not a trivial topic and too many people trivialize it. Everything becomes easy after you’ve done it a 100 times. THat doesn’t mean it has to be made so hard that only you can do it. That means it’s time to move on to the next challenge, and if Anet pushes out raids regularly, there shouldn’t be a problem.

The current content IS easy. The only reason the zerker meta exists is because you don’t need defensive stats. You just need to invest a little bit of time to learn the mechanics because they are simple, predictable, and mostly a joke. People who fail fractals and dungeons do so because they don’t understand the mechanics and don’t want to understand the mechanics. You said it yourself “because no matter how many times I explain how to do it, it doesn’t happen.” Some people just don’t want to learn. Just because people who wish to remain ignorant can still fail something does not make it challenging.

Gear checks are a cop-out to decent content, and are utterly meaningless in terms of “challenging” or “interesting”.

Oh look, we added a zero, go grind 400 hours to get that zero so you can do the new content which is exactly the same as the old content but with more zeros!!!!11oneone1one

That’s what gear checks are used to cover up. They don’t make it more fun, they don’t make it more interesting, they don’t make it more challenging.

Don’t chase the zeros!
Instead, push the devs to actually make interesting content. More complicated events, more interesting fight mechanics beyond “dodge this dudes massive one shot AoE every 5 seconds or wipe, got it? Good, now do that for 30 minutes”.

The VW champs are basic examples. South and North at least involve more than just zerg the boss. There are complications to the fight. Sure with a zerg it can only be so complicated before it just wont work. But in a controlled setting there could be all kinds of interesting things to have to do.

This game has no gear checks, so I don’t know what you’re talking about. What zeros are they making you chase after? They haven’t added a new tier of gear, they haven’t done anything that would make you think this was a vertical progression game. So what is your problem?

Unless you’re implying people should be able to do raids in greens and rare in which case, too godkitten bad.

So, you’d agree that at least WvW players do have a need of it, and should have their own path to obtaining that gear?

They have a path to obtaining it, its called raiding. Do raids or don’t get the gear. They don’t “need” anything.

Having Legendary gear that can transform stats at will is a major advantage, and anyone who doesn’t think so is fooling themselves. The fact of the matter is once you have the set you are covered for gear in any possible scenario so having this will be an advantage over other players who don’t raid, simple as that.

Except that runes don’t change with the stats making the stat-swapping pointless. Same reason nobody uses the stat-swapping on their weapons with sigils.

I fully agree that the gear one uses doesn’t determine if one can speed clear or not. It’s why the true speed clear groups who intend to PUG don’t always kick players who they see aren’t doing max DPS. Because they know that it’s not the gear that makes the speed clear.

And he doesn’t prove anything to the players that matter: the ones he lies to. Because he lied to them. They think he’s wearing zerk gear.

Well, he proves it to himself I guess lol. Maybe after the run he dramatically unveils he’s been wearing Cleric’s gear all along!

And the final reveal? “Oh, we thought you were just bad, but now we know your gear is bad instead. No wonder that was 10 minutes slower than usual.”

And yes, people who join anybody welcome groups and then harass people about running a specific thing should be banned. It is downright rude and a blatant disrespect for the LFG system. So get over yourself and stop ruining runs for people.

And encouraging it on the forums should be a suspension. It is encouraging toxic behavior towards others in the community. Lying and ruining other peoples runs because you can’t be bothered to join a group that isn’t speed running. You want the benefit of all the people wearing zerker and running meta builds but you don’t want to put in the effort to do those things yourself so you piggy back off of others who do and then slow them down out of spite and laziness.

Legendary Armor Runes

So Legendary armor needs a way to save multiple runes to it otherwise the stat-swapping feature will be pointless. I think you should be able to add runes to the armor permanently or maybe there are a limited number of slots for each piece so like each armor can hold 3 types of runes and you’ll have to replace one if you want a 4th type at some point. I don’t know how it can work but something like that needs to be considered because for the same reason I never use stat swapping on my legendaries.

They are too easy.

Zerk meta is because it’s fastest and people want to farm as fast as possible.

I don’t know if you mean its too easy to see there is some trolls in here or if your saying wearing zerker gear is easy. If its the second thing then: Zerker gear in normal dungeons and even fractals to some extent IS easy. But that is because dungeons and fractals are easy. If you make actually challenging group content, then zerker will be the opposite of easy. Nomad will be easier. And zerker like the hardest to wear.

What is/was challenging content and why?
You say dungeons and fractals are easy and that’s something that contradicts my experience, so I was wondering what you find challenging enough and why that is so?

Well dungeons and fractals are easy. If they weren’t easy we wouldn’t be able to run all zerker and never die.

Legendary armor isn’t even that good unless you have a way to switch runes without spending 250 gems each time for each piece. I don’t know about you guys but in most cases runes need to change with builds often more than armor traits and patches can make them obsolete from one day to the next.

agreed, there is no point in stat swapping if you can’t save multiple runes to the gear.

Yes but NEVER sold as armor skins. They were removed when they were town clothes.

The notion that ANet been sitting on these and are refusing to release them is absurd, there must be a reason for not bringing them. Maybe there were clipping issues that they don’t have to time to fix. Maybe it’s because they feel it’s more profitable for the gem store’s asset devs to work on another outfit for 700 gems than do whatever is needed to release these pieces as skins.

If they thought it would be profitable, they would have been out already. Who knows, maybe they are holding them for the 2nd half of the sale.

Allow me to say it one more time because you’re clearly missing the point. They don’t have to do anything to release them as skins because they’re already skins.

And it doesn’t mean they hadn’t found problems when they were allowed to be used as skins otherwise why haven’t they offered them yet? It’s been over 18 months. What? They forgot they had them?

There’s a reason. We don’t know why. They let you and players who want the Buddy Holly/hipster glasses twist in the wind.

Because they don’t care. People use them every day. People use the glasses every day. There are no problems. It is genuine lack of caring.

But I’m sure there are players waiting to make their own Nachetania. So keep on asking for them, just don’t insist that what you are asking for was once offered as such because they weren’t.

There is smaaall little reason why legendary armor must remain locked behind hardest content in the game. It is called Crafting.

Nothing should belong only to a small fraction of the players in this game. I can go through a raid – this is no problem, I have years of experience in hardmode content.

But why is it necessary? Why this should be tied to the raid content? We have here WoW or GW2? I came to play in GW2. And I want to stay in it – not in clone of WoW.
So legendary armor must be hard-to-get, but only like legendary weapon. Raids must be pure challenge. This is only way to prevent the separation of the community.

Here we go again. WoW and doom in the same post. “Years of experience” yet you don’t understand why armor sets with free stat swapping should not be available to everyone.

Just like the weapons? Oh wait, I’m down to the stuff the needs gold. Gold is not hard to earn. And no where near hardcore.

It becomes something for hardcore players only and hardcore groups that can do it with a few under ten, they will likely sell the other spots for gold. Just like they do in dungeons.

So might as well make it doable by PUGs. It doesn’t have to be easy for them.to do it. But once guides get released, it should be doable, but difficult.

They CAN do it, there is no restriction blocking them aside from difficulty. It is CHALLENGING content. If they can do it they can do it. That is the only way to put it. Nobody will stop them from doing it but themselves.

I don’t agree that they shouldn’t be allowed to do it but they certainly shouldn’t be able to fake their way through it like with dungeons.

Honestly I don’t see where the “not allowed” comes into play? I mean what restrictions outside of difficulty would inhibit people from doing it? Being locked to a certain instance? Guild Only? Attunements?

Ps. This isn’t directed at you, but it is more me not understanding why people say casuals or pugs aren’t allowed.

I don’t know, I’m referring to the OP and the claim of not wanting it puggable. It should definitely be puggable, if they put in the time and effort. They should certainly not make it easier to make it “puggable” though for people who don’t want to put that effort in.

but you can play every part of the game as long as you want
so it is more of a restricted free to play than an extended trial

and narrow minded people who start crying or raging before reading properly will always exist

So you’re admitting then that it is basically the whole game with hardly any limits. Thanks.

Also " no unranked or ranked arenas until PvP rank 20" this limit in particular is the same for regular paid for accounts as of a few days ago. So that shouldn’t be there.

However f2p is a little bit an exaggeration. That’s more like a free trial. The amount of restrictions is insane compared to a normal f2p.

I’m not saying this should change. I’d like even more restrictions.

There are like 3 restrictions… What are you talking about?

how long will the outfit take to arrive? ive not got it, ive been playing since just after launch.

I pre-ordered months before launch and played all the beta events and the headstart. I still don’t have mine and people who I know bought their accounts at least a year after launch have theirs already. Pretty sure it is random.

100% agree, it will absolutely crush the economy. They shouldn’t be allowed to use map chat, mail people, use the TP, and a whole host of other stuff.

we have dungeon and fractals alredy and there too hard and create the zerkermeta

pls no more it will ruin the game for me. More zerkmeta wont be beter

Did you just call Dungeons and Fractals hard? The only reason the zerker meta exists is because those things are so easy that you don’t need defensive stats.

2 Months and Farewell Fractals.

+1 agreed. Rewards needed to be redone. Adding levels, yes. Nerfing fractals into casual mode? no, anet really needs to stop catering to the casual plague on MMOs.

Anet PLEASE what ever you DO NOT make GW2 ftp im ok with a trial accounts with chat, mail, guilds and trade post all lock and a max level of 15 or something but please don’t make ftp. but if they do go down that path only give players spvp with a taste of pve’s starter zones and the first chapter of the story. Because im not looking forward to destroying the friendly community of GW2. Just take a look at call of dutys

Read before you post.

Take your own advice, that free trial information is over a year old. Its from the September 2014 free trial weekend event.

It ‘s funny how people here want to play a MMO, complain about under population on WvW but still hope that no stranger will be allowed to play and interact with them. Come on, just the idea that the population may increase should be a good news. And if the new algorithm is right this will first increase low populated world in WvW where players have basically no fun since there are no fights.
And to be honest I’m not sure that a horde of new players will arrive in the game that fast. At least not after starting zones.

We don’t need the populations being artificially inflated by people who didn’t pay for their accounts. That is just going to lead to people filling up slots with free accounts to keep paying customers out, aka, stop the opponent from having real players on the map.

NO thanks, if you want to RP marriage then do what you want. But when you start getting advantages over other people because you want to marry somebody in a video game I am drawing a line.

Be careful about how quickly you re-log back into a character if you camp JP’s. Anet has put code into the game to prevent this type of playing and you’ll get ported to a specific WP on the map upon logging back in with that character.

I have tons of alts parked at JP and have never had this happen once over the past 3 years. Gonna have to call nonsense on this one. The only time I’ve ever been knocked out is when the “teleport to miniature” code was implemented so that when you logged in you teleported to where your mini was standing and when the new LA was changed and it moved everybody.

These merging really bugs me. I know the subject is related, but it completely screws the talk.

I honestly think that is why it is done, so the conversation is incoherent and all the important points get drowned out in the sea nonsense.

It is pretty ridiculous the way they broke it. It looked really good and now it flares out randomly for no reason.
