Game doesn’t need Mounts
I mean it’s not like there is any difference between Swiftness and a reskin of your character riding one of the new enslaved former playable races we Sylvari will capture in HoT, is there!?
Or a glider skin that shows the mighty Sylvari commander riding on the back of a giant moth while singing Mothra’s theme song.
Now way a magic Broom/Carpet can be the same as a Bicycle skin!?
(If the game wasn’t designed for the usage of mounts then we wouldn’t have Swiftness of movement buff nor would we be getting gliders. The sure existence of both of these nulls the popular response and is the reason why the pro-mount movement can’t be culled. Enemies on mounts also means that the model exist and the only thing a mount model is run so placing another character frame on that mount and selling the thing for $20 on the TP is something that will probably happen in the future.)
4 new maps with three levels each is still basically about 4 themed maps. My only problem with that is I was hoping for some new environments to explore but I suppose something akin to the crystal desert/torment/fire islands wouldn’t make sense in Maguuma.
As for new maps while it is true we’ve recieved a couple of maps since Gw2 launched only three of them remain to this day. Lab Cliffs is MIA and certain special maps like instide the toxic tower are unlikely to return as well. Southsun is rather vacant and as for Dry Top/Silverwastes the story behind them were only free temporarily. So while we may get new maps for HoT they will be living story maps most likely lacking staples which will eventually be an extra fee down the line lie the two current ones.
That said just think of it as HoT coming with 4 maps and I’m sure they will be available at launch.
They want to keep up pre prices on the TP but I need the Chaos gun it’s 500g while other Pre’s are over 1kg and the underwater ones are laughably low.
This process may be great for making a GS but seems to be a much pricier option for some of the cheaper pre’s. This does nothing but fill the world with more legendary GS’s to which we have quite a number already in circulation. It also shoot’s the mats up breaking the market for everything one else.
Also 400 geodes!? If that’s how many Geodes they want I’m afraid to know the other mats….
Gw1 had templates and I had several for each spec back then…
Gw2 has or will have PvP, PvE, WvW, Raids, JP’s, WB’s, and you can always Roam in WvW all of which could easily fill a different template.
Templates at launch would have been nice but since launch we’ve had added modes and legendaries with changeable stats so at this point a template system isn’t something that people want it’s rather something that we need.
You’re not doing the same thing which is the difference. They’re having you do activities across Tyria. Much different than sitting in SW and farming gold.
You just don’t get how farming X amount of gold to buy a precursor is the same thing as farming X amount of gold to buy crafting materials to make the same precursor. Too caught up in the collection to see the cost of the recipe and where the equilibrium of prices will be.
What you don’t get is that you’re not doing the same exact same thing the entire time.
Because precursor crafting isn’t exactly the same as outright buying it on tp makes it better or acceptable? just no.
It’s less of a grind because you’re not doing the same thing over and over again.
Can’t image how many mental gymnastics you went through to get to that conclusion but the discussion between you and me ends here. Neither of us will back down on our stance.
Edit:
Do collection one, spend 250g in materials.
Do collection two, spend 250g in materials.
Do collection three, spend 250g in materials.Wauw you are right, this is so much better than spending 750g in 1 go on the tp.
Source that the collection materials costs will equal that of existing precursors?
Not so much but they did say it will be enough to keep the existing prices thus the materials should equal about the same in the end. They mentioned time is calculated as well but then again farming gold is time consuming as well so who knows how it will be in the end. If people start to craft Pre’s then the existing pre’s will eventually come down in price maybe to the point that simply buying it will be cheaper since crafting requires timegated items.

“The second collection ensures that there is a proper gold and time value to each of the precursors to maintain their value in the game.” – Cited from that Link
Gw2 launched with the user base from the original game and while the original game didn’t have a tank spec seeing how they lacked Taunt. It did have a heal spec and since it was mainly gw1 players at launch it makes sense such a thing would continue even more so with legendary armor.
Heck if heal output would be calculated into an event I’d run heals but it doesn’t so I don’t this is something that has existed since the beginning of this game. If you want to tank then go PvP and if you want to heal then WvW. Tanking in PvP works because you have to tank points and kite enemy players to gang up on ya. Healing in WvW has always worked since your fighitng other people and not insta kill bosses so a single pure heal guardian can lead a zerg to victory. Well back when they had tomes and I suppose that replacement skills sorta works…
Game lacks traditional trinity as the only role is DPS
No one is going to spec for perfect heals or iron wall defense as this is a pre DPS game. Thus the maximum amount of DPS you can squeeze out of your character will always be the Meta and thus the glass cannon shall remain the Meta for this particular game. The only time Zerk may change is they make it into another Zerk with Ferocity focused gear or something cause people already play Zerk for raw and Assassin for crits so why not introduce primary attribute ferocity sets?
What got me was when they stated enough gold and time at tier 3 to keep the value of the Pre’s on the TP.
So it sounds like simply buying the pre strait up will be the way to go. All I need is my pre to finish my legendary which is 500g currently so instead of the equivalent time and gold it’s better just to buy it. The time is what bothers me as you make all these gifts for a legendary then reach a time gated pre!?
Also who has over 1kg on hand like that as if you didn’t notice that was how much gold was on the toon they used to showcase pre-crafting the jugg. If you have that much gold then you’ve already bought everything you wanted hence why you let it sit and get to that amount. So they already purchased there pre’s and have no reason to do the crafting in the first place.
1. Warrior(Berserker) Zerker Zerk Only
2. Guardian(DragonHunter) Actually Rather Different
3. Revenant(Herald) Flood Day One
4. Ranger(Druid) No Vid Druid
5. Thief(DareDevil) More Marvel Plox
6. Engineer(Scrapper) Build more Bots
7. Necromancer(Reaper) Eat Moar Souls
8. Elementalist(Tempest) Toot dat Horn
9. Mesmer(Chronomancer) Better than Mesmer
Reading these I think more than ever that Chrono needs a nerf and my main is Mesmer so I’ll be playing Chronomancer too.
All the classes sacrifice a a trait line it’s base but every other class can still do things utility wise that it’s specialization cannot. So a Guardian can do things a Dragonhunter cannot through the use of there F abilities. The Chrono however doesn’t replace anything it just adds on to what exists so the standard Mesmer has nothing over the Chrono and the two are hardly balanced at all compared to the other classes. They added an F5 button instead of replacing one of the existing F skills.
Why would anyone play a regular Mesmer over a Chrono!? Unless to purposely kitten themselves..

I know exactly how you feel as I bought a car and now all these people can all of a sudden by the exact same car for cheaper than I paid and I hear they will continue to devalue my car each and every single year. It’s redonkulous, outragous, infuriating how they can do this stuff. It’s not only the car but also my Tv provider as here I am paying my monthly bills and off goes some commercial offering people a sign up deal!? Where is my discount, refund, or heart felt apology!?
I bought it and stuff gets cheaper over time even my computer and I’m here for ya TC we need refunds and need to make a fuss as this nonsense doesn’t happen in the real world it’s not like we live in some sort of capitalistic society where time is indeed a factor in the selling and acquiring of goods or something.
What do the core specs get!?
No new weapons, skills, or traits at all it all goes to the elites and heck there even less than what they were before since Anti-Toxin Spray was removed over the summer. Most people will be using an elite of which I have no doubt however they may not be using there main toon for that elite but rather the elite of an alt for the early bits of HoT. this wouldn’t be a problem if the core specs recieved some new skills but its to no avail.
Toxic Spore Back isn’t a traditional back at all it’s a floating spore that follows you around and thus sets a precedent. Why can’t a legendary Quaggan Backpack simply be a Quaggan that follows you around or a backpack that doubles as a Mini such as a progeny or young skritt riding piggy back on your shoulders.
The current existence of the Golem, Toxic, and that birdcage backpack means that all of these are completely plausible for legendary candidates.
It’s needed for difficult content as it’s impossible to have any sort of challenging content in this game how it stands now. They have been bleeding players since this gmae launched and have already merged servers and soon to implement something to handle the WvW problem. The steady lose of players was easily bandaged with Mergaserver so people would never notice the loss however this isn’t the case for WvW and certain servers remain dead. Heck I use my WvW for the vendors since there is never any sort of que.
Dfficulty content would be nothing but zerg and rally with what we have now. If they tried to fix the stack, rally, and spank we have now those people would leave this game. However slight changes and making the raid mode be different from the onset will bring ire but its from lifers who would never leave the game in the first place and the tradeoff of new players would be well worth it.
Market determines jack in this game
The precursors that are up right now will remain and no matter the supply or the demand they will remain the same.
The people who will benefit from pre-crafting are those who have either been trying to flush one out or have simply given up with the final mat being the pre. I’m in the latter as all I need is a chaos gun to finish the legend.
Even with the additional carfted pres the influx of F2P players will offset this as they will flood the market with T6 mats. There are another group of legendary go getters those who were intimidated with gift of fortune and lower T6 prices will send these people into a buying frenzy. Thus increasing demand once again by a substantial amount. In the end things will fall back to prices set months ago so what you see now will probably be the same 6 months after HoT release.
What will change and lower the prices is the introduction of new legendaries that use seperate mats. That will drop the demand unlike anything else and let the supply increase enough to make a difference. Even with that however what is really needed to fix our economy is upkeep costs for the auction hall. Other games have 24-48 hours on the TP as a limit before it needs to be re posted. You can’t buy a spot on the shelf to sell your merchandise indefinitely and yet this is allowed in GW2. It is that action that makes the standard supply-demand model impractacle and a poor excuse for prices. Space costs money in the real world and yet this is absent in GW2 and a detriment to our economy. There needs to be a limit to how long a product can stay in the TP.
No new skills
If you log into your Mesmer for instance you will have zero new skills at your disposal the same is true for the other classes aside revenant since it’s well a new class.
That said we have specializations so you have to change into an elite specialization which isn’t the same as the core class. All class will drop a trait bar which is baseline also your special abilities that are tied to the F-keys are also swapped out or changed. With the exception of Mesmer. As while every class will swap a trait line the others go much further in there changes. Instead of changing and swapping the Mesmer adds on too with the addition of the F5 key. The other class with no changes the Ele doesn’t add onto but made it’s changes with the overload mechanic so it’s still similar to that of the Virtue and Shroud.
That said three years of playing a base class to have no changes to it in an expac will see the majority of players switch to elite. Those who don’t like the elite will no doubt complain and flood the forums since while they dislike the dragonhunter there guardian remains completely unchanged and even 1 skill short with the removal of Anti-Toxin Spray. Complaints like this have already started to pop up as well if you don’t like the changes you have zip to look forward too class wise.
Tiami’s Dye kits on sale or even on the TP I’d state if it’s too much to ask but I’m sure Anet is getting some sort of sick jollies out of it.
Bunny Ears are the same deal
Character slots probably won’t happen at all as while we get a free slot with HoT don’t the more expensive bundles come with an additional character slot?
But this post is mainly about DYE KITS!!!! and no not shadow and flame but all DYE kits as they can easily added several long lost dye kits to the TP just like they did for mini pets. A new expac is coming and people typically want to look there best. I can’t raise 1k gold in time unless Q. Bee/pre falls into my lap as I desire Electro Lemon and Purple.
Cosmetic mounts we for which we have 3
Magic Carpet, Witch’s Broom, and Drill
There is no difference from moving 33% faster with swiftness and 33% faster with a reskinned mount model. Mounts for every game are nothing but cosmetic editions. In this case it truly boggles the mind why we lack Mounts as this is a F2P game so there won’t be any grind for eternity then kill some uber boss 50times to collect said mount type of deal. In the F2P model its give Anet the equivalent cost to create this mount in cash and you get it. F2P mounts range from 5-$30 depending on game and the time needed to create and design. This is a F2P with mounts as a cash shop item?
Dye Kits like Tiami Dye kit that houses the Electro Dyes
Bunny Ears and old individual transmogable gem pieces
Makeover, Hair, Name, etc change kits
I’ve given a pass to every sale thus far aside the 25gem shadow/flame dye kits mainly because I’m saving my cash/gems for Tiami’s Dye Kit. It really was a poor idea not to have a release schedule or rather not have the core items for sale early on so people could be freed up to buy your new items and skins. I won’t be buying anything till the end sine I’m waiting on that dye kit. If It doesn’t show I’ll just be one of the many unhappy players flooding the forums the next day as we all know that people are waiting for items like Bunny ears and people have been saying that since the sale started. So there will be a bit of anger if those items don’t make an appearance and this close to HoT that simply isn’t good.
But who cares it’s game I’ll just play something else and have a friend message me if they dyes ever return in the next couple odd years but by then I probably wouldn’t care anymore.
Two dye kits? While I’m grateful that we have the shadow and flame dye kits on sale there are a great deal of other dye kits still out there like Taimi’s dye kit for instance and the other season 1 packs I mention Taimi since it’s the poster child for dye inflation.
Dude just likes to spit in other peoples lemonade is all and there are indeed people like that in this world and in Gw2. Raid system benefits those people who like to raid and does absolutely nothing to those who dislike raiding as it’s not needed for anything since this game has multiple methods to unlock items as is and that won’t change for raids.
So because people simply don’t like raids full well knowing they can simply just ignore them they go about spitting in everyone elses glass of lemonade.
Wildstar all over again. SWTOR all over again. Rift all over again. TSW all over again.
Listing games that started with a Sub doesn’t actually prove your point at all. Wildstar, SWTOR, and Rift didn’t provide enough content to deserved there subs and people left and each one eventually had to go free to play. Wildstar is dropping its sub in the fall which is also owned by NCsoft as well which probably played into Gw2 going F2p. Games like WoW/FF14 prove without a doubt that casual/elitePve/elitePvp/Rpcrowd can all get along in an MMO just fine.
This game never started with a sub and with such low expectations adding a feature isn’t going to spell the end for this game at all people as I stated before just love to hate/troll on people when their happy and the people who want raids are happy right now If you don’t like raids then don’t do them. Gear in this game is all baseline to rarity anyway.
Is it too much to ask to get some dye kits namely Taimi dye kit?
I’ve been saving both cash and gems for the day that particular kit returns and I started during Toxic Alliance deal so my toon is coming up on its second birthday not its third. I’d be more willing to buy other items after I get my dyes if the dye kits that aren’t available currently ever get put back up. I’d rather not have dyes be the last item either knowing that I’ve given up spending cash on other items I’d like waiting for dyes.
It made sense to release all the old weapons skins, keys, and mini pets as people will cling on to there wallets till those come up and be free to spend more liberally afterwards but we still need the missing dye kits to return to loosen more people up.
Oh also I want a mining and harvesting infinite tool in the vain as the Frostwasp tool. Basically an insect/arachnid/bug/wurm themed tool for both mining and harvesting. Also a similar based theme for mail carrier.
Three yeas since launch and all we have to show for it is 3 maps, a world boss or two, fractals, and one of those maps(Southsun) is basically just a place to store a WB. 2 JPs and guild challenge.
We’ve lost a heal(Anti-Toxin Spray), a PvP map, and the world is littered in garbage from temporary content that new players no nothing about..
Lost more people with the destroyed LA since that was the very dark and dreary hub which basically reflected the broken shape of the game.
So yeah to little to late they already had to introduce megaservers and certain WvW maps like my own are practically dead there are so few people on my server. They need to fold the low pop/dead servers into the larger ones. Raids will put a band-aid on the problem no doubt but HoT better be something special to retain all this returning and new players coming back to try it out.
Those that don’t complain leave it’s no biggy it’s just a game after all.
Those that complain like the other MMO you mentioned are those that don’t leave and take things more serious they will whine and complain about everything under the sun but they will never leave.
Those that are perfectly happy don’t typically respond to anything and if something does irk them they’ll fall into one of the two categories above of those that leave and those the reamin to QQ.
That said when the QQ gets too high with any MMO then the population is off balance and those old positive deals simply left. They always come back for an expansion though as is tradition.
In GW2 however especially HoT we saw what most people considered playable footage months ago and many people returned. Problem is those people returned to nothing and the fact there not even beta testing all the classes at once makes some people wonder if the game isn’t in alpha. We’ve seen druid and eng for instance months ago and yet they haven’t been present for Beta weekends 1 or upcoming 2. Weekly reveals doesn’t make sense to leave classes out of beta weekends and thus the reason beta weekend 2 only had half the classes and beta weekend 2 is missing two of the classes is because the classes are not complete and unable to be released. Thus if core classes are still messed up then the game is no where near release either. So people who were positive and did come back for HoT after seeing footage have once again left probably not to return since they already gave the game a second try.
So we have nothing but negativity left that most people can relate too.
No events all summers except for this Sellebration…
I’m going to have to agree with water combat, event rewards, and bring back Anti-toxin spray while we are at it as well.
The multiple day sale was alright the last couple of years but this year has been a bad one.. Nothing but talk about the China release and them being to busy to them Talking about the HoT release and them being too busy… been a bad year really and HoT better be well worth all of this waiting for something to do.
LoL
I could only imagine the post you’d make if they actually reintroduced the Tiami kit to the TP as that would’ve had a much more direct knock on the current price.
What if in real life the stock market never changed never moved and items always stayed high and pricey like you wanted.
People fully expected the dyes to return for the anniversary and they acted accordingly and it was your responsibility as a in investor to be aware that the dye market is a pure bubble ready to pop the second the supply chain started to reintroduce more into the market. The error is yours for being a poor investor and nothing else if anything your asking for corporate welfare well welfare for the rich in order to cover your bad investments as that’s the only welfare I see arising from any of this.
Correct this is easily shown too with the Balth Outfit the back side of that armor has a hollowed out shell. That built in hallow on the outfit is a slot for a specific back item that being the Balth back piece obtained only in PVP reward tract. Which is also the only way to complete the outfit and fill in that empty hollow in its back.
https://www.gw2tp.com/item/67287-electro-blue-dye
Highest price dye:
Sell order from before the “outrage”: 999g
Buy order from before the “outrage”: 715g
Number of sell orders: 4
Number of buy orders: 418Seller order from after the “outrage”: 1051g
buy order from after the “outrage”: 420g
Number of sell orders: 4
Number of buy orders: 416Well for all the whining it seems the sell orders have actually INCREASED in price, and ONE person withdrew a single overpriced buy order…
Yep the market is in shambles now…
A little soon to be calling “no foul” on the dye market.
Some of us haven’t even gotten home yet. =P
Granted, any price of more than a gold or two is out of my market for dyes anyway, so the prices are of no concern to me.
/shrug
Supply and Demand won’t take effect for some time as this is a video game after all. The seller orders have probably been up for weeks if not months and will continue to do so for months down the line.
The order people may not be aware as of yet but most likely haven’t received there 3rd year dye as well or they’d just get the dye they desire. Flippers would also pull out as well. However none of this will occur till we get a fresh influx of dyes. These new dye kits have indeed killed demand but since there account bound they have yet to effect the market. Adding Tiami’s dye kit back into the TP would have a greater effect than the birthday dye at this point however thanks to the birthday dye whenever Tiami’s does return the drop in price should be direct and quick thus reshifting the dye market.
It’s not the amount of points but rather the principle and I’m sure we will get more beta weekends and more places to explore. If we had beta achieves for an area yet to be explored or killing an enemy yet to be revealed for instance that would be a spoiler. So I fully expect there to be many more to come.
Cloned account is also true for instance the beta character slots only showed up for those characters in beta however I haven’t preordered and I can see the achievements. What will bother me is if they are indeed like season 1 and will remain unobtainable for the remainder of the game for me and future players.
Hopefully they are simply for testing though with more beta weekends to come and new things to beta test there will like I’ve stated be more achieves and there might even be a meta as a result with a meta reward. Though I may be getting ahead of myself in that regard.
Also asceneded gear and legendary items are account bound so you can just move all of your gear bags and items over to your new toon no problem. Also the more toons you have the more Queen Jennah mini’s you will get in the long run.
I have one main myself but I learned in Gw1 is good to have multiple toons as not only does that mean multiple birthday presents but certain achieves are easier to unlock that others depending on the class.
Also Living story chapters can be skipped around with alts so you can either redo them all for keys and loot or go straight to paths of no return to get ready for HoT.
Some games are ditching subs to go f2p heck Wildstar which also falls under NCsoft like GW2 is going F2P this fall.
Seems like GW2 just added the means to go the reverse path and start getting people to pay subs. GW2 15 dollars a month that’s would’ve been like paying for the summer without events we just had or subbing for 3 years without an expac. I suppose they want us to pay for all of that time.
Either that or there adding services that require a sub? or China?
Wedding dress because it’s racial!?
So is the Chef Outfit and it even comes with a toy
Is this a kickstarter campaign or something!?
Pre-order the game without a date months in advance
No new content or events for the entire summer except for the anniversary SELLebration in which you give more money to anet for a summers worth of SW farminging hoping something would pop up around the corner.
Before HoT and all these gaming show events were an excuse for lack of content it was there devotion to launching in China that halted progress. Before the China launch issue they made baseless and hollow promises some of which are coming with HoT over three years later mind you. So 1k for an outfit is no surprise at all.
Birthday dye was nice though and I am looking forward to it but things have compounded basically log in for a daily/teq kill and I’m out these days.
I don’t preorder anything without a release date it’s as simple as that really
I don’t mind the title or even the beta weekend events as eventually I will pre-order given they give out the release date for HoT and I’ll get the title then and get to try out the elites after launch.
However with this recent update we all have another achievement tab the Beta Weekend tab has been added to our achievement list.
Not sure how to feel about that though and wondering what the communities take is should we all be punished with less AP points than beta testers for not preordering a game we still know so very little about?
Mind you its about 4-5 achievements each worth a point each and might even get expanded on in the future to include more.
Better than Mesmers
(Other elites completely change there special abilities or simply how they will act. This isn’t the case with Chrono as they are straight up vertical upgrade not an alternative like others they add F5 without changing or even swapping out any of the F1-F4 skills. It would make perfect sense to swap F4 with F5 but that’s not the case. The argument of whether or not to switch to chrono doesn’t exist for Mesmers as this is an upgrade and not even remotely balanced compared to the other elites. They need to nerf Chrono by doing what they did for the other classes and balance out the special abilities F1-F5)
The balloon has finally popped in a sense
We won’t be seeing the effects until we actually get some new dyes that can be sold though but overall I’m excited about these new changes. Also Anets ability to finally tackle one of the problems of this game that they themselves cause by removing certain dye packs from the game causing supply to trickle down to 2-4 dyes of a color up at one time or gone completely.
That 1000g+ price tag will remain there account bound and this board brings a smile to my face.
You spent that much on a dye being artificially upheld to that level due to supply shortages it was a bubble pure and simple. If they had a 24 hour tiami dye sale it would’ve popped. It was your own choice and in business it’s your responsibility not Anet’s to be wise with your gold and see simplistic trends such as the dye market. So you and everyone else get what they deserve. You’ve had the product prior and you used it prior and there is no refund in any circumstance for such action. It’s like people wanting a refund for HoT after taking advantage of the Beta weekend events or spending there gems from the ultimate edition.
The price of electro dyes will remain around 1000g in the store even with people receiving or choosing to wait for there third birthday rewards. It will remain at that price until new dyes are added to the TP and supply and demand can come into effect those dyes that have been sitting for months may remain many months from now but new dyes will pad it back to its actually supply and demand amount however these new dyes are account bound and won’t do anything.
That said if you want to sell your dyes you best start rushing to those buy orders before there all taken down. Those buy order peeps will probably be the next crowd to complain they may be asking 700g for an expensive dye but not be able to log in to get there free dye and take it down before the request is fulfilled. So they will be next to post on this subject and it will remain to be there fault in the end.
I’m about a year behind everyone else so I have another year to go it seems…
I just hope the drastic drop in demand will effect the dye market but seeing how those items can’t be left on the TP for months I don’t think that will happen..
100g for a dye sure but over 1000g for a cosmetic dye is simply too much and before people state supply and demand like I said even with all these dyes and the drastic drop in demand the prices will doubt remain the same and unchanged just because there account bound.
7 classes can use staff and in the future it will be 8 classes as the Warrior will be forced into it eventually. Simply put the Warr had access to the most weapons at launch and with this elite spec process of tying classes to new weapons the limit to that system is the amount of weapons the Warrior has left to obtain. So the cap is probably when the war simply has no new weapons left for the system.
Rifle would make more sense since only 2 classes can use it which does kitten up the game a bit. Who wants predator and we can even use this to guess the three legends at launch as 7 staff, 6 sword, 6 shield, and 6 GS classes exist and all the others aside water are only available to a few classes. Thus they will get special treatment and the first three legends are probably Staff, Shield, and Sword from a logical standpoint since the have the broadest reach fill two, main, and off hand slots and while another GS is possible we have three currently.
I wish they’d spread out the lesser used weapons a bit more as I’m sure they like the underwater weapons which are overlooked for another reason will be left behind in the long run.
I think they will go the usage route
releasing a new legendary rifle is no different that releasing an underwater legendary after all. Only two classes in the entire game can use rifle and there only releasing 3 new legionaries with that I think they would be wise to go with scope by making the weapons that have the broadest use among the classes.
GS maybe not as I’m sure people who made Eternity might rage to no end but maybe Anet will release another useless title in the vain of twice told legend.
Staff, Sword, and Sheild will be the three new legends in my book
Simply put if you look it up most weapons are usable by only 4 classes even with the addition of specialization weapons the total is an average of 4. The Staff can be used by 6 classes in HoT while the Sword and Shield can both be used by 5 seperate classes. The only other weapons with this sort of reach are the GS and the Underwater weapons which I don’t think we’d get simply because we already have 3 GS and Underwater would start a pitchfork wielding crowd ready to tar and feather the first person they find.
So my prediction once again is a new legendary for the Staff, Sword, and Shield this also includes a two hand, one hand, and offhand plus a ranged and melee weapon.
GW2 launched and the only new game of substance to launch was WildStar which also falls under the ownership of NCSoft.
There wasn’t another major MMO release after this game to pull the hipster crowd away and thus it is true they remain in this game. Might have tried to go back to the core MMO WoW but WoD was awful so they probably returned.
With the current state of the community and dev non interraction it is true this game won’t survive a new and upcoming MMO. The only new MMO to stand up to this phenomenon was FF14 even GW2 saw such loses due to the launch of a WoW expac that we ended up merging worlds which still hasn’t solved the problem with small world WvW being empty.
We have new MMO’s coming now apparently and we have a new WoW expac that seeks to redeem itself the thing about WoW expacs is that they reshap the MMO map. Millions of people go back to WoW for an expac and then they shed those Millions of people after a month or so and those people don’t always return to the same MMO. The best MMO get talked up on WoW when people start leaving and those Millions of people may flood another MMO which seemed to be FF14 after WoD.
The Gw1 vets are leaving and Anet goes on about E-sports and it’s hipster crowd even if a new MMO launches and bombs it would be devastating for this game as they may get talked into trying another MMO or staying with that new game.
Give us money with any sort of confirmation for the release date while your at it we won’t add any content for the entire summer then expect you to spend all your money on our anniversary sales which will also lack content to do. Not about rewarding your dedicated play over 1-three years or anything its about getting us more money.
This whole thing feels like more of a kickstarter campaign than an actual reorder do we even know how far along the game is or whether it will launch this year!? Sure they could launch it late Oct, Nov or in December but no amount of marketing or showcasing is going to penetrate the highest shopping days of the year. MMO’s don’t release during this time because it’s a death trap. The marketting won’t penetrate and gamers will be loading up on new games and merchandise. If it’s not out buy Oct it’s simply smarter to wait till January. It’s late August so September is out since we don’t even have a release date. So that leaves early Oct which also seems out of the question considering we still have elite spec reveals and more beta weekends.
So no it’s not worth preordering anything unless you have a release date and if you want to pre order without a release date then that sounds more like funding a kickstarter campaign for an early copy than a standard pre.
I’d pre if we actually had a solid release date..
Still baffled at the fact we have so many leap before you look and pre before you know frogs playing this game.
Always look before you leap and in this case know some solid information like the actual release date before giving them money. This isn’t a kickstarter so they shouldn’t be trying to gather fund without a release date.
Swiftness vs mounts
Other MMO’s have tried speed boosts but they all go back to mounts it’s a cash cow after all. Mounts in TP and mounts that require ages grinding to obtain not only keep the population up but the income coming as well.
There is no difference from getting a 33% speed buff from a skill or from a horse. There just reskins anyway of your movement animation it’s a video games and mounts aren’t items that need to be maintained there just skins.
That said gliders are this games answer no doubt as I’m sure there will be glider skins in the Cash Shop or once that need an absurd amount of in game time to obtain. Heck we already have a pre-order bonus glider and I’m sure the TP will get it’s own tab to create a gold redistribution/sink then there’s the cash shop gathering collectors.
All that said swiftness is this games version of mount travel there both speed boosts and it seems gliders may be filling the other obligations of this traditional MMO staple.
Oh and the people who want mounts are completley aware that there purely cosmetic they win over swiftness due to the trade off required to obtain that swiftness. My Mesmer uses travelers runes has been for a long time and while I’d rather use another set it comes in handy for WvW and farming mats. Other Mesmers will be forced to trait Chrono for speed and my Guardian has zip the kittening of builds in a game with so few skills and complete lack of the template system is more than simply annoying just to decrease the time running between gathering nodes or roaming in wvw.
Dyes are account bound now which wasn’t the case at launch that said once a person collects on dye the no longer need to obtain that particular dye. In trading of the cheaper dyes there is obviously a ceiling that will happen when the majority of collectors obtain a particular color. When that happens they no longer have reason to obtain it and the will sit on the TP.
Coupled with the fact there isn’t a limit to how long a dye/item can sit on the TP the higher price will be maintained and even pushed higher in some cases. The supply is is lower than it once was due to the changes with binding it to an account but once the supply dries up and those higher sellers are either sold out or remove there dye the price should pitfall since at the second the TP see’s a clean slate the demand/supply factor kicks and people aren’t basing there prices on some poster from 6 months ago when the demand and supply rates were different. Then again even 6 months ago the prices were probably hovering around the supply and demand limits put in place when dyes first became account bound. If supply gets high enough then the old prices would be ignored but eventually rebound back up when it starts to dry out sine the old postings would remain and it would rubber band back to them.
Tis a bubble simple as that no one is trying to edge out anyone.
You can still get Karma Boosters from level up rewards so I don’t see how there exactly removed. Unless Anet overlooked level up rewards and this very post is a red flag and there next course of action would be to tamper with the system and change the level up reward boosters as well. Though that would mean they actually read the forums so I’m sure that those karma booster rewards will still be there for years to come.
not goign to bother quoting everything as I’ll be on for a sec
Even if the dye kit is brought back for the Anniversary it wouldn’t be in the system long enough to adjust the prices. The other items get rotated on occasion but apparently seeing how Taimi isn’t even available from a BLK Lion it isn’t one of those items.
The auction hall is flawed and designed in a way that allows for rampant increases in goods. In other games your auction hall requests will stay active for maybe 48 hours however in GW2 I haven’t noticed a limit to the amount of time an auction can be up doesn’t exist as I’ve had items up for months beck when they first introduced ascended armor so I had overpriced rare armor at the old rate sitting there for months on end apparently. The process of testing out the waters with a premium rate doesn’t exist in the sense that you see elsewhere as you simply post and forget about. If there was a limit and thus you had to pay the fee multiple times to post each time then the free market would be more in-tune. You would be able to adjust those who undercut quite a bit fast and the gears of a the free market wouldn’t be held hostage by persistent items. Anet has there Auction system set up this way so items are typically always present in the shop but it does more to increase the cost than to provide a convenience.
As for whether or not I’d post a 1000g dye for sale on the TP the answer is simple I couldn’t afford to post an item for that much currently. Only the rich can afford to costs of putting such a hefty item on the TP.
Farm SW VW Chest for a Preserved Queen Bee also worth thousands of gold is an option but like the dye that would be an item I’d use instead of sell. Well actually bank till some magic update allows the thing to be used with ascended trinkets.
For the record the last dye I purchased was Imperial Red and it was 66g at the time so I am willing to purchase dyes.
Electro dyes aren’t found on the TP nor are they found in BLK Lion chests.
That said the most expensive dyes in this game are indeed from the Electro set Electro Blue for instance is usually found hovering above 1000g on the TP with the others around 500-800. That’s more expensive than most precursors and while as of the time of this post Electro Blue is currently 890 on the TP it’s been known to reach levels where it’s bumping shoulders with the cheaper Legendary Weapons.
I’m sure Taimi’s Dye kit which contains the dyes may return for the anniversary well at least I hope it does but I’d simply like more rotation of the dyes. No dye should be that expensive even Celestial and Shadow Abyss dyes are cheaper than the cheapest of the Electro dyes. You could even combine both of those dyes and they’d still be cheaper than the cheapest of the Electro.
Fire isles are volcanic islands and it’s been years since they were last visited.
In addition the sea level dropped
So combining the new land mass created do to the lava flow and eruptions over the years plus the fact the ocean receded around Orr so why not there too.
So a landmass rivaling Ascalon in size and scope plus more green and life present than there used to be as while the landmass grows it’s not like new Volcano are growing to sprout out around the edges.
That said the landmass would no doubt be livable in this age so there would no doubt be numerous reasons to return they could even plug another consortium deal if they wanted.
Shield’s only Chronomancer
(meh basically that new weapons are tied to the elite specs and the elite specs only.)
