It will not double the waypoint fees, but it will increase them in the following scenario:
You are in Map A and want to go to Map B, Waypoint 7, which is a Waypoint that can be contested by an event.
You will have to go to Map B, Waypoint 6 costing xSilver, then once you are there go to Waypoint 7 (costing some more Silver, but not the same amount since the distance is less).
I’m seriously hoping that some of the people in this forum realize their characters can run places without having to pay any money.
“Oh dang the WP I wanted is contested, now I’m at the next closest. Darn you Anet now I have to pay more money to WP somewhere else, why oh why won’t they put in a system where you can travel short distances without having to pay money! Why ANET WHYYYYY!”

I will miss the Dyes too.. Because me and friends use to play “Dye Lotto”.. we each buy 50+ Unidentified Dyes from the TP, open em all up and compare what we got.. Now that fun is gone =/
you can still do that…
Dyes will still be craftable… and harvestable, and buyable with laurels, and given as rewards, the only thing they are remving is the RNG drops from the open world.
I am not wasting Laurels on Dyes, Laurels take days to collect lol, as for harvesting, i use the best tools and have gathering booster + guild buff.. never get a dye..
I dont need Dyes, i have all i need, its purely just a fun thing me and guild mates liked to do,
quite often,
Dyes are pretty much the only useful items you can get with laurels once you’ve already outfitted your chars with ascended trink/acc. I mean, what else would you spend them on? T6 mats? Pff, have fun with that lol. You can sell the 10 dyes and buy more mats with the money you get.
Just to put into perspective. 4 months ago I got 20 dyes with 10 laurels. I got Abyss Dye, Celestial Dye, and Midnight Fire Dye. I made quite a bit of money selling those. So it is definitely not a waste if you use laurels for dyes.
I also cashed in all of my laurels after they announced the dye changes. Had roughly 120 laurels, which got me 240 dyes. I’ve made 40g so far only selling the blue dyes. With 50+ more waiting to sell, and another 100+ Masterwork/Rare dyes I’m holding onto until after the patch (some of them awesome—although no Abyss or Celestials this time). I’m hoping to make at least 300g from the rest of these dyes. Meaning I would be potentially making ~3g/laurel. I’d be pretty happy with that considering I don’t have any other use for laurels. I’d be even more happy if I blow passed my expectations. I would finally be able to afford my precursor from TP!

If every starter zone had a champ train, then maybe you could possibly have a hint of a point, but since we are clearly only talking about Queensdale, I’m going to have to disagree with your entire premise.

That’s funny , because in WoW my dungeon wait times are less than 10 minutes as a dps and I don’t need to wait for raids because of guild/flex/Oqueue/open raid, etc.
10 years after the game’s release…..
And they did that because of the exact issues we are talking about. Disparity with trinity roles. People were waiting around forever, or just plain giving up. It is a shortcoming of the trinity system. So much so that Blizzard had to develop a very complicated (and IMO successful) system to try to alleviate this.
Considering the number of players who play WoW and that groups are handled with the flex/OQ system now, 10min still seems like a relatively long time to wait to get a group. (Also I will assume 15min, because when it comes to forums, people tend to fudge numbers to try and make a point. If shorter time helps make your point stronger, then I add time, if longer makes your point stronger, I subtract time—just the way forums work). It shows that even with millions of players and using a complex matching system, there’s still a pretty substantial wait time to get into a group for DPSers.

It really comes down to mob farming for gold versus gold farming in general;. You can farm for gold in this game very easily. You can’t farm mobs in this game for gold/items to sell/keep very easily. GW2 does not reward you with good items pretty much ever. But there are options to accrue gold quickly if you really want to.
The way I see it, if you were prepared to grind mobs for profit, then you can grind dungeon paths for profit instead. Grinding is grinding.

I love the people who are hating on SAB, don’t want it back, etc., when you have to go out of your way to Rata Sum, then into a special instance to even experience it.
You people act like running SAB is a requirement to log in or something.
It’s awesome if you don’t like it, don’t go in there. Problem solved.
It’s like someone hating PvP. How about you don’t go into the Heart of the Mists….?
I personally dislike going to dance clubs. Music is too loud and drinks are too expensive. Should I petition that such clubs be removed? Nah, some people obviously enjoy them and I’d be a raging **** if I went out of my way to try to petition them to be removed just because I don’t like them.

I don’t understand the idea of trinity balance.
Does that means that healer can defeat a fighter? That’s not balance, that’s making healer OP.
Your right, it would. Balance would be each not being able to kill the other. A tank is suppose to be good at taking damage without dying and not dish it out (that’s the dps job). A healer is suppose to heal damage and not dish it out. A tank vs healer, if balanced and all variables equal (eg. player skill), should result in a stalemate. The healer doesn’t do enough damage to break a tank’s…well…tank and the tank can’t out damage the healer’s healing.
And the third leg of the trinity? The DPSer? Can’t out-DPS heals or tankiness either? Or DPS can kill both. That sounds OP to me. And probably why the DPS:tank:healer ratio in trinity games is always terrible, causing groups to wait around forever just to get a group together.

Considering every class has access to AoE skills, I’m going to list this as a non-issue. If you are all about getting max loot, go with AoE weapons and skills, if you don’t care, go with whatever you want. The choice is yours.

The concern I suppose, from RPers, is that certain servers are unofficially designated as “role-playing” servers, meaning that more often than not the people you run into will be actually playing as their character. Maybe a grumpy Charr who hates humans, or a Sylvari that is new to the world and has many questions. They actually pretend to be their characters.
Putting players from other servers into a map could potentially water down the RPers to the point that they can no longer RP without someone in map chat yelling that they are losers, lame, etc. Or in general being idiots and ruining the immersion.
Immersion is a big deal for them.
In the end, though, it’s a good thing for the masses. I’m sure the RPers have learned how to ignore non-RPers in other games.

You are late to the party on this, OP. I agree with Belzebu here.
Did you waste your money? Yep.
But you made the decision ahead of time to waste your money on a duplicate legendary for the looks rather than it’s actual utility. In the end you do still have a perma-BiS with swappable stats, which is worth it IMO.

New flash for everyone who isn’t from the US. You prank people on April Fool’s day, not tell jokes. This is a prank. Pranks are supposed to inconvenience people, annoy people, insult, etc.
You aren’t supposed to be happy about being pranked, it is completely normal to be upset after being pranked.
It’s like you guys have never been pranked in your lives. Luckily the majority of the player base understand this and aren’t getting super upset about it, because it is a day known for pranking.

I think OP doesn’t realize that you get skill points you can use to unlock things starting at level 2.
That should satisfy your “put points into things” fix.
Play a Mesmer sometime and then come back and tell me what you think of no traits until 30 and no grandmaster traits until 80.
I have a Mesmer, I don’t know what you are referring to. I forgot to even put points into her traits while leveling up. I don’t play her competitively I guess, I much prefer Guard or Ele.

Roughly 400g into MF here, no precursor. Plenty of exotics, though. But typically in 1/5 attempts, and they are at most worth 2g, so can’t really say I’m making any money back, but 20% back is 20% back, I’ll take it!
Now I limit any MFing to whenever it is on the daily. That’s my excuse to buy 20 rare GSs to throw in.

Players say there’s not much progression after level 30.
ArenaNet pushes traits back 20 levels.
Be careful what you wish for.
Except there wasn’t other than trait points.
Also I expect a lot people to complain about this new trait change/system being pushed to lvl30 making the lower level players in their level appropiate zones easier targets for the mobs (granted trash mobs die in 1-3 hits to a lvl80 in zerk gear).
This is one of the reasons why I think they removed repair costs to be honest.
As long as a new character maintains current level gear, those extra points from traits will be unnoticed.

I think people actually may believe that now that their legendary skins on their own account can be duplicated, that somehow now everyone who doesn’t have a legendary will get one mailed to them in the form of a usable skin.
They aren’t giving these things out to everyone, the ones who already had legendaries will continue to have them. The ones that do not have legendaries will continue to not have them. Legendaries are not becoming more common, less rare, or whatever you want to say. The ones that have them already will now have the appearance of having more of them.
Now when someone finally gets their legendary, they don’t have to get a second one for the skin. That’s a good thing. Overall.
I’m sorry you decided you wanted two of the same legendary and spent oodles of money for them just for the skin. It really does suck, I agree with you. But in the end, you have two weapons that are perma-BiS and can change stats. That’s a convenience the guys with just one don’t have.

Keep promotion TESO, it will make you feel better about buying the game, trust me, lol
Promotion? I played GW1 ( still much better than GW2 ), still play GW2 ( obviously, not as often nowadays ) and I bought TESO to test it. Are you surprised? It’s the biggest MMO name in the recent years to premiere this year, in a couple of days.
Open your eyes.
TESO will be another SWToR.
You do realize SWTOR is considered more successful than GW2, right?
That is assuming we are basing success on the amount of money earned.
What time spans are we comparing? SWTOR from its start to current vs. GW2 from its start to current? Or SWTOR from start to 1.5years in, vs. GW2 from start to current (1.5yrs in).
Just want to make sure we are doing apples to apples here. I honestly don’t know information on either except for the fact I strongly disliked SWTOR.

Nobody wants trinity!
Nobody, eh? So why is WoW so insanely popular?
Because it was game-changing when it came out, created a giant following of up to 11million players, and can still maintain a little more than half of that because they have loyal players.
Have you spoken to someone who has quit WoW, then come back to it after yet another expansion? Odds are they aren’t currently playing anymore. The ones still playing it have been playing it for a long time and will likely remain. They are the die-hards. You also have the reluctant to quit players: they have a sub they continue to pay, log into WoW to stand around for a little bit, then log out and play something else. They will defend WoW to the bitter end, but don’t personally enjoy playing it anymore, they just have the nostalgia and the time-investment to continue giving Blizzard $$.
No one can argue that WoW didn’t get the formula right when they released the game. But no one can argue that others have tried that formula and failed simply because it was a “WoW clone”. GW2 is trying something different and people like it.
There are a TON of other games with the trinity system. I recommend you go play those rather than suggest GW2 jumps onto the bandwagon that has seen so many games fail.
It’s like you guys don’t want to play WoW anymore, but want to play a game that has all of WoW’s features with different lore. No. That has been attempted too many times, and it has failed. Time for something different.

Yea PvP you can start at level 1, you are upleveled to 80 and get maxed stats like everyone else.
PvE, fastest leveling is: use experience scroll (level to 20 auto) first, craft up to 400 in two crafts, then do events/hearts/personal story. Always have your XP booster on. If you have a kill streak booster and use it properly, that’s even better.
Dungeons give pretty awesome XP too, if you can get some quick runs of a dungeon path in, like AC for example, you will level up quick.

I think its a bit ridiculous that people that enjoy playing the game and doing dailys will eventually lose out on the AP they need to unlock chests because “completionists” don’t have the self control to stop doing something they don’t enjoy and they feel the need to dictate how people should play and be rewarded.
And by “eventually” lose out on the AP, you of course mean years and years from now…
I have not missed one laurel since they released the daily, and I’m around 4k AP from daily. So, basically I will hit the 10k number, in, I dunno, another 1.5yrs.
4k from dailies so far
1.5k from monthlies
6.5k from permanent
So basically, if I stopped doing ANY other AP hunting, and just focused on my 10k and 5k cap, I will have ~22k AP. Now factor in all of the WvW AP, LS AP, PvP AP, tournament AP, mini game AP, and all of the normal AP.
Are you really, honestly complaining about this cap? You should be well on your way to 25k AP by the time you hit it, unless your only source of AP has been dailies and monthlies, in which case, time to start playing the actual game instead of focusing on one area to get your AP. Plus the dailies are still there. A couple of years from now you can still do your daily, you just won’t get AP from it. Big deal.
True AP hunters get AP from everywhere, not just from daily/monthly grinding.
Anet wants there to be a max possible AP to hit. No one is losing out on any AP. They set the rules. If they’ve decided that 30k AP, or whatever the absolute maximum happens to be, is the maximum possible AP obtainable, then that is your new goal. That is what you work towards. That’s it. End of issue. No more infinite AP sources.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
OP, I know you don’t think player skill is taken into account without trinity, but I can tell you, at least in PvP, player skill is definitely taken into account. How do I know? When you play enough you can actually tell who is good and who is bad. I’ve been able to take out two bad Thieves by myself as a Guardian in one map, then next map get completely owned by just one really good Thief.
And PvE: have you ever run a dungeon with a good group versus a bad group? If you’ve ever been in a group and you guys keep wiping, things are taking forever, etc, then it’s a bad group. If you’ve been a group and next thing you know you’re done with the dungeon, nobody died, nobody even had to speak to each other, that’s a good group.
Player skill is taken into account Trinity or no. Without trinity you get to enjoy the luxury of not having to wait for tank and heals for hours, or risk shudder getting a “bad tank”. Man I don’t miss those days at all.

The only thing bringing people back to the main cities would be their home instance. If they somehow spruced that up to actually draw people back to them (the nodes are a start, but let’s face it that’s not enough).
But having played basically every MMO that has been released, this is a common trend among them all. There will be one or two main hubs where people access banks, TP, crafting etc. All other towns will be relatively empty.
I don’t see this changing any time soon.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
Right, that’ll teach me to make assumptions from the title.

Camera on JPs is absolutely atrocious. I’m used to it now, having done all JPs multiple times, but I feel so bad when I run a new guildie through JPs knowing that some of the easy jumps are extra hard because you literally are zoomed into the back of your characters head, blocking all view.

I never said gameplay, that was you, I said content.
So you want to go on the record saying that an optional infinite mining pick, that I and most others ignore because it is stupid cheap to purchase non-infinite versions, is content that absolutely must be purchased in order to “experience” the game?
And that the airship pass, which let’s you access everything that non-airpass people also can access, but in close proximity for the sake of convenience, is content that must be purchased to experience this game?
I’ll give you the Infinite Coin one, you’d be hard-pressed to complete tribulation mode and all achievements without one. But considering my Coin is sitting in my bank collecting dust, I am on the fence about giving you the acknowledgement on this one. But I’ll go ahead and toss this bone to you.
The two first ones. You’re seriously, seriously grasping at straws trying to make your point.
I’ve spent less money since the game has come out on mining picks, axes, and gathering equipment than if I were to convert the gold to gems to buy one of those infinite items. If you bought one, you bought it because you wanted the convenience of not having to go to one of the hundreds of easily accessible vendors all over to buy more gathering tools…
I’ve read many of your comments, Zudet, and you clearly have an agenda here against GW2 and will make any exaggerated claim you can to try and make a point. No one is buying that you need to spend $100/mo in gems in order to experience GW2 content. Nobody. You just come off sounding…..bad. At least try to make your comments fit the reality of average players and not someone who absolutely must buy every stupid item on the gem store and then complain that he bought every stupid item on the gem store because he “has to” in order to play the game.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
I still don’t understand removing the repair cost.
Are we being encouraged to fail?
Please take the time to explain how this encourages people to fail? I’m honestly curious. Bad players aren’t concerned about failing because they may have to pay the occasional 10s. Nobody cares about that, least of all bad players. They are concerned about failing because it a) slows down the group and b) makes them look bad and might get them kicked out of a group.
“Oh man, no more repair costs, hmmmm, that’s some good encouragement for me to wipe in my next dungeon run over and over. Yep, I’m only being rewarded here for dying and not finishing this dungeon, angering my mates, wasting everyone’s time. Yep, totally encouraged to fail since I don’t have to pay 12s every 10 deaths or so.”
Is this how you imagine the thought process would go?

Do you not have to equip the items in order to save the skins? I thought you did.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
In all fairness, you haven’t lost anything. You still have everything you bought. In fact, as far as dyes are concerned, you’ve got free dyes. I’m not sure why you are complaining. If you had lost something, I could understand it. But you haven’t lost anything, you’ve only gained. I don’t see your problems.
I think he’s saying, had he been made aware that this was going to happen, he would not have purchased those dyes for multiple characters in the first place. Not fair reasoning, otherwise people would be getting refunds IRL for all sorts of ridiculous reasons. “Had I known this TV would be on sale this weekend, I wouldn’t have purchased it last week! I want my money back!” Yea…..no.
I agree with you, though, that technically he’s gaining and not losing. His issue is in the fact that let’s say he purchased 3x Abyss dye for 3 diff characters, he will be in the same exact boat as someone who only bought 1x Abyss. Both players now have every character on their account with it unlocked. It cost him 3x for the same result. There’s no way he could have anticipated this, and the closest thing to a refund he is going to get is 1x UNID dye for each multiple he has. Who knows, maybe they will turn into Abyss/Celestial lol. I wish him the best of RNG.
That’s how life works though, sometimes things end up not being as great an investment as previously thought.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
You wasted your money in the sense that you will soon have the ability to have it appear you have two incinerators. You didn’t waste your money in the sense that you will have two actual legendaries that are perma-BiS and can swap stats on the fly.
So, I guess the answer to your question is, maybe?
For your dyes, yes, if you went out of your way to buy all of those Abyss and celestials you wasted your money. But, personally, I would have said you wasted your money doing that even if they didn’t make this change. I mean, come up with a different color scheme already lol, does each character have to do the black and white thing?
On one character sure I could see that, but to go out of your way to get white and black for multiple characters, especially paying those ridiculous TP prices. Meh, sounds like a waste of money in the first place, but to each their own.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
I’m pretty happy with my gold SAB weapon. I realize that it can be achieved through sheer patience if you have the Infinite Coin, but it requires some serious patience and the ability to not rage lol.

But post ascended the game has become Pay 2 not Grind.
And that’s a problem…….why exactly?
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
I’ve said it once and i will say it again until you learn it. These dyes will be worthless or at best there price will bottom out back to there original TP price.
There are actually two markets we are dealing with: UNID market, and actual colored dye market.
UNIDs won’t be dropping anymore, so I could see people thinking, “omg I will save all of these and the demand will skyrocket and their price will skyrocket!” Problem is, like grayskull says, there will be TONS of people dumping their UNIDs.
Your best bet will be the specific colors market, because there will be a new customer, the completionists who absolutely must have all of the colors unlocked. Overall I anticipate prices for individual colored dyes to stay well above what they were prior to this announcement, but nowhere near what some of them are selling for now.
I’m thinking more money will be lost than gained after this patch lol.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
Anet’s already charging around ten dollars for skins in game, now they’re also going to be charging you for the use of them, as well as the ability to dye them.
You are NOT being charged any more to transmute skins than you already are. It is the same exact system, but they are calling them charges instead of crystals/stones.
Skins you buy from gem store, will still be the items you 2click to apply to a garment, once you do that (for free the first time) you can access those skins on any alt you have, but will have to use a xmute charge (stone/crystal) in the exact same way you normally would have, except now you don’t have to buy the gem store set all over again for another $10…it’s a complete improvement.
And about your second point: that’s the most blatantly incorrect statement I’ve heard thus far. There are no charges to dye your armor.
You clearly aren’t understanding what’s going on, and your explanation as to why people are upset clearly shows that they don’t understand what is going on either.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
you will all change your tune in a few months when dyes are a few copper each legendaries r common place and everyone has every skin you worked for…..all i hear from most of u is greed greed greed
Legendaries aren’t already commonplace?
Did I miss the post where they said legendaries will be easier to obtain? Because any logical person would realize that only people who already have legendaries will be able to use the skins on their alts, and unless you can suddenly log into multiple characters at once, there will be no increase in the amount of characters with legendaries or their skins in game at any one time. It will be exactly the same.

I’m confident they will refund your gems for those. They’ve refunded for less obvious oversights. And luckily the gem store logs all of your purchases so it would be very easy to see if you did or didn’t purchase multiple of the same.
I would seriously be shocked if they didn’t honor a gem refund for this.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
I’ve also junked a bunch of t1 sets because I outgrew the look and didn’t have any other chars to put them on, plus I didn’t want to waste the bank space.
I wonder if there’s a way for them to know if you’ve purchased and subsequently deleted them in the past. That way they would know to unlock those skins for you.
