It even makes us dodge when we respawn if we tried to dodge before dying.
That’s actually the most funny thing. Try to be as fast as possible to get back on the point, but hell no, this dodge roll is really important.
Khylo is a great map I agree. Although there are some problems with it, like for example:
1. the fact that you sometimes can’t hear the Treb shooting
Guildwars 2 is back on the path. Yesterday we saw Team Legacy playing. It’s good to see old competitive Teams coming back to GW2.
Also our shoutcasters do a really great job. It’s not easy at all to comment a match, as so many important stuff is going on at the same time. Very appreciated!
95% percent of the GEM-Shop is money making crap. The rest 5% are the upgrades.
I see copyright problems everywhere :O
Unranked matches will end up as a pool of ppl trying new builds. So you not really have a high level of play there. Ergo your build testing won’t show the desired result. And Premades will more likely to scrimm in CA’s which are also unranked games.
How would it work with bleed stacks?
In general, Condition that stacks in intensitiy (Confusion)?
The more premades and guild-teams you have the more competitive this game becomes. GW2 forces ppl to soloQ because the game lacks of a LFG-Tool and splitting them into 2 regions, 20 servers. That’s not healthy. And insulting players that want to play on a competitive level is not right. It’s A-Net fault of being incapable to generate a working SoloQ.
I know hundreds of ppl that actually wanna play in a premade but they just can’t find ppl for it due to this splitted playerbase. Then they are forced to soloQ and getting frustrated because soloQ is in a horrible state. Ergo they stop PvP or rarely play it.
I give this game a year or two. There’s just sooooooo much left to do for A-Net. And with their pace and unnecessary patch-parts like qeue-dodging it will be definitely not this year.
Sigil of Energy is bugging too. Especially on Battle of Khylo.
at least i can’t que-dodged that often into shelter anymore.
There are no words to describe the map chat that would occur…
implement several districts and a real LFG-Tool instead of this useless thing we have now.
It will be hard to get good players for this, because they’re constantly scrimming.
You basically summarize everything we allrdy know and which has been over-discussed in several threads, every week.
There are better builds for bunkering as a warrior. But for all there’s the same rule:
Guardian > Warrior
On the topic of separating queues : a balance can be found in the matchmaking to give pugs a 50% chance of victory against full teams.
With something like:
Tier 4 = terrible pugs
Tier 3 = average pugs and terrible teams
Tier 2 = good pugs and average teams
Tier 1 = good teams. It’s a simplified classification but the idea is that by fighting with and against people who are in your tier the matches are balanced and exciting. Then you have the occasional play out of your tier to mix players and promote contacts.
I think we are really underestimating the importance of contacts and “networking” here and I hope the devs keep that in mind when they consider splitting queues – if they do, which I hope they don’t:p
I allrdy thought about that and agree with it.
Still it’s hard to get even matches between premades and SoloQ-teams. The influence of a VOIP-Program is, especially in fast paced games as GW2, a huge advantage.
For eg. it’s nearly impossible to do a proper Lord-Rush on Legacy without Voice-communication. And this is absolutely match-deciding.
The origin of this problem comes from not separating premades and Solo-Queuers. Many ppl tend to afk or leave if they see the opponents are premade.
Also there should be a entry-barrier for rank 1-9. So first the beginners have a chance to learn the maps and how conquest actually work.
I think this would solve the issues behind afk/leave and “crap” players.
I observed the forum a bit recently and tried to merge some fixes that the community is asking for:
- Skill-Queue
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/pvp/Root-dodge-bug-destroying-pvp/first#post1985249
Exist since the latest patch of this month. My suggestion would be a toggle for it.
- Split SoloQ and Premades
An issue that we are dealing with since the SoloQ-Implementation. This problem affects almost every player and should be on the top of your priority-list. This affects also the Leaderboards.
- Leaderboards: Not playing and second-accounts
The ELO-System forces people on the top to not play because they only can lose ranks and fairly are able to increase the gap to players behind them. Also people behind them have a hard time overhauling.
This issue creates a really static list, which isn’t able to represent what’s actually going on. In conclusion this means players on top tend to not play. (CA’s excluded)
I hope there are upcoming changes to the Rating-System, so this issue can be avoided. Maybe paired with visible Ratings.
- LFG-Tool
Everybody who played GW1 know that the LFG-Tool there was amazing. In GW2 it’s not really something that has been noticed.
If you could implement the old System into GW2 and do it Region-wide (one list of searching-players in EU / NA), this would really improve the PvP-Scene. Pugging would be more easier. So people not have to be in Desolation/Anvil Rock to actually find others to play. In the same time it makes it easier to connect with other players and expand the friend-list.
- Ranger downstate underwater
A bug since the release of GW2. No need of an explanation here. Affects Temple of the Silent Storm.
- Right click targeting
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/An-option-to-disable-right-click-targeting/first
An issue that is not only a good thing for the PvP-Community, but for all GW2-Players. Hope you are working on this.
There are many other issues like the Reward-System or the Random-Map-Rotation, Build Diversity and the Salvage-System etc. As you already mentioned them in past SOTG’s and on the Forum, I left them out here.
Forgot one thing, as some mentioned already:
- pets hitting like a truck while their masters are bunker-specced
But pets can hit only 1 target. What’s the problem with the bigger damage compared to every mele weapon that have cleave attaks?
I remember, one day…lost into the mist of the past ppl whining all day for 8-9k backstabs….clearly no problem with a bunker spec dealing 5k+ dmg with high tough and healing (And maybe some cond dmg too), working as all other bunkers right?
I can do up to 5’000 dmg with a sinlge attack as a full-bunker… oh wait it’s 50 dmg.
Assign “Sheath Weapon” to “x” key.
Start unwanted skill? Sheath weapon.
how about cancel skillz (weapon or utilities) that go for the full cd-duration?
+1
Allrdy mentioned thousand times. Seems like the concept of the old districts (international etc.) was not what they wanted, so they just made 50 different servers where in every server 10 ppl sitting there together waiting for other ppl, which ironically are scattered on the other 49 servers.
Do the simple math and recognize that this calculation won’t work out even.
Love it when it happens to my renewed focus and shelter. But hey, it doesn’t matter cause a guard is unkillable anyway, not.
I don’t understand what’s so broken about it. Claiming it’s so “broken” and not giving any real explanation won’t do. What’s broken about it?
The healing power? Condition damage? I understand people complain a lot about traps, but honestly it’s so easy to avoid i’m surprised they still do.
Read the whole thread before throwing random questions in. In general it’s the range of the pet, which is abnormal. Second thing is broken pet-rezz underwater in downstate, which is on temple a gamebraking issue.
Add NPC’s to fill up the lack of dedicated healers (in the lordroom + other positions). This makes it hard to just push in with 8 ppl and kill everything, as the opponent-team gets supported and healed there.
Make the Guild-Lord tanky (not as weak as on foefire). So even when all the support-NPC’s are down he can stand against 2 at minimum. And about 30-45 secs to kill with full-team.
Implement second objectives which are that important and can’t be ignored. And not only one, there should be several (flag, buffs, capture points etc.). This will avoid 8v8 zergs.
It could work, but is hardly imaginable in the current PvP-Situation we have.
It’s more about the build to start with. Catch a good one (you can find it on forum/youtube/twitch-streams). Keep playing and see the progress. If you feel comfortable with your build and know its pros/cons, you can watch at other classes and their mechanics to understand better how other classes interact with your own.
This can’t be done in a day and needs some effort and time.
I’ll make a fix for this. Thanks.
It would be nice if you also fixed the other 500 issues with the game, but I suppose a single bug fix and a thousand tooltip fixes a month is fine.
People like you making posts like this are why we don’t have more Anet devs (or devs for MMOs in general) willing to post on the forums.
Thanks.
Other companies are also able to create smooth content, why A-Net is not able to do that is a miracle for me.
They can’t copy/paste their standard messages anymore if you do that. But if we are realistic, this problem will never be solved. It’s since release there and can’t be fixed by them (same for random-map rotation).
There are thousand of ppl out there which had the same bug and left the game because of that. But it’s really appreciated that A-Net just ignores the problems when they don’t find a solution instead of just saying: “Sorry guys, we are incapable to fix this bug”.
Communication is everything, even when it’s not positive as in this case. But it’s always better to inform ppl about it and don’t leave them allone.
I do not like the idea. I rather play with low level players as with hotjoin heros
r10 is made easily in 2-3 days, that’s not a big investment of time. Also there are 5 different maps in rotation, which can’t be learned in one day. You need more time to know where what is. So don’t tell me a r1-9 actually understands conquest, the maps and the different objectives.
PS: the “hotjoin-heroes” are mostly above r30. Players which made 10k glory are not anywhere near the abuse of excessive zerging.
At least I got 1 fan lol, thanks blu <3
No worries! Hope my guild can get a spot on weekend though
as its intended to play the game more than just for 1 year, i think its ok that it takes so long reaching higher ranks.
you guys always talk about incentive and on the other hand want everything achieved now.
The issue is more on the distribution of the rank-points. Rank got meaningless because good players in tournaments never achieve that much points as a brainless hotjoin-zerger. I think the general-rank should be related to your success rather than how much free time you have and how many hotjoin you play. So the incentive to have a high-rank is for most ppl not existing. As in GW1 ranks told you how successfull a player actually was (c-title, rank, commander-title), here it became meaningless.
The incentive for ranks is only there if the ranking-system is in relation to your skill/success. Though in GW1, phoenix-emotes were a symbol of prestige, in GW2 the same emote will never be in that state.
Sorry to say, but A-Net messed it up completely.
Highest rank atm has Clik. He’s r68.
It’s actually too easy to outrun a ranger with a guard, as you can chain 5 blocks in a row + blind. So i wouldn’t say ranger is a strong orb-runner. It’s more like, you can send the pet to the orb while defending your close point.
It’s destroying gameplay when a pet can solo the treb and its owner standing on the node defending it. Same goes for defending the node while the pet is engaging at the orb, interupting players, which try to capping it. The split from a ranger into two players is a game-breaking issue.
Mesmer illusion for e.g. dissapear after a while, when the mesmer moves on.In conclusion: reduce the range of the pet and fix the pet-rezz in downstate (so the pet can reach the player, stop rezzing when its dead or interrupted)
Do you guys just make this up as you go?
I have NEVER seen a pet solo a treb. Ever.
Nor would it be effective, nor possible (unless the other team member isn’t wearing any armor, nor amulet nor traits and doesn’t react to the pet attacking him)Edit: I suppose you guys think it’s as simple as pressing F1 and forgetting about everything. Play a ranger for one day, then you’ll know what i’m talking about.
I’ve sent my cat out to solo trebs. It only works when the person on the treb is a moron and doesn’t attack.
Also in my experience the leash range isn’t large enough for me to reach a point. I have to stay withing the courtyard area.
Yep, but if the treb is free its an easy job. Other players have to be on the treb themselves to destroy it, the ranger not. In general I have no problems with ranger, its only the pet range that should be reduced a bit.

L2P Jeez. You guys want everything easy, and you won’t rest until everything that is good in this game is nerfed and we’re all left with bad abilities and horrible class mechanics.
**So picture this scenario:
The ranger pet is 40% of the ranger’s damage, even more so if you focus beastmaster. So, the genius opponent just focuses the pet down. In less than 10 seconds, the pet has fallen to 10% health. Then the ranger swaps pet. But the pet still has 10% health!! You being the extreme pro that you are just kill the pet. Now the ranger deals no damage and loses. What a noob! haha! For real now, the only way to effectively kill a pet is wait for the ranger to swap pet on his own. Then you’ll have 16-20 sec to kill the pet if you really want to. That will trigger a 1 minute cooldown on pet swap to his next pet. Though this is possible, i don’t recommend it as its a lot more effective to just kite the hell out of the pet.
Every class that is able to kill the pet in these 16-20 secs can’t hold the fight because of conditions. Even when you can manage this there’s still a ranger left with tons of def and evades.
In conclusion: Ranger is best 1v1 class, but worst teamfight class.
BM-Ranger is a weird build. You can compare it with 2 npcs, one makes dmg and the other one evade, dodge and heal himself up. Nearly as tanky as a ele but far more dmg (through conditions) compared to its sustain. I can accept it just because a ranger has absolutely no support for other teammates (besides spirit-rezz / roots)
The problem is not the daily… it’s more that soloQ and premade are not splitted yet. Otherwise these 2 wins wouldn’t take that long actually.
idk…
there are mim, idle, tp, boon in the lower bracket against only pish in the upper. How did you come up with this? Did pish just got lucky?
Other teams please don’t get offended – imho these are just the favs (at least when going from the ladder (yeah ik ladder /= skill but anyway))…
Organisator is from PISH. Question answered
Mantra-Mesmers OP!!!
BM Roam is good but nothing should beat a Phanta mesmer.
The problem is, phanta mesmer is useless in tPvP. So the only class that can pressure a ranger is prob a engi or power nec.
Map is too big for a 3v3. As dying is the same as loosing you will see prob eles or rangers the most. Or stealth-kill ppl out of shadow-refuge (w/e). So if smn dies the game is over. The conclusion of this is to pick one target out and get him at all costs. Nothing more to win is required.
If it’s too hard for you, do the PvE dailies.
But you know. . . there is stilla PvE-Daily
I don’t get why IDL and TP, the two best teams EU are on the same half . . .
This game is not dedicated to have longer teamfights. As said, lack of dedicated healers and lack of rezz utilities. Also the AoE is pretty intense at the moment. EG engineer, necro, elementalist.
In the actual state, spec-mode is not really helpful. Tournaments, which are shoutcasted are watchable via twitch. And beginners are rarely follow twitch-channels. And to observe hotjoin-players is not really helpful for beginners either.
Hah no. Rangers still repeatedly get their butts kicked by thieves, mesmers, engineers, and to a lesser degree elementalists.
Just because you’ve lost to them doesn’t mean everyone is doing so
If you ever reach the high-competitive scene in here, you will see that the BM-ranger absolutely never loose a 1v1. If so, he just played bad. (The position of the ranger in the teamfight is a different story)
Allrdy mentioned 100 times by the community and hopefully recognized and considered to implement in the future.
it can’t be said enough
Agree 1000%
But before bringing a new mode into play, they need to fix the allrdy existing content. (split soloq from premades etc.)
Rangers are clearly lacking, and need a new utility to compensate for warrior’s being buffed.
“Search and Destroy” – 10 second cooldown, unlimited range
Your pet grows three time in size, gains 300% movement speed, 300% damage,1000% toughness, 1000% vitality and 300% critical damage and is immune to stuns and conditions. Your pet seeks out the enemy Warrior anywhere on the map and aggressively hunts them down. Once defeated your pet gains permanent stealth and waits outside the enemy base, ready to resume his mission. This is a much needed skill in my opinion to combat the insanely power that warriors now wield since this patch.
Oh man . . . I laughed so hard. Made my day!
