Your skin will wrinkle and your youth will fade, but your soul is endless.

We shut down the game servers at approximately 11:30 am PDT (18:30 GMT)
~snip~
Thank you for bearing with us through this process. We’ll be back online soon.
Mo
It’s almost 8:00 pm PDT. I’ve been playing the Guild Wars franchise since open beta 2005. In all those years, I can’t think of any time where the game was purposely shut down for this long (8.5 hours). Amazing!
While yes, I’m frustrated and going through serious Guild Wars withdrawls, I can only imagine how frantic things must be at the Aner offices right now. I don’t envy them.
It’s been 8+ hours already. I don’t think “soon” qualifies anymore.
Hmm, looks like I’ll be playing something else tonight, just in case.
any idea on when do you think server will be back again?
Probably when Endless Soul gets back from lunch.
~EW
So about 42 minutes then.
Great, NOW what am I supposed to do on my lunch hour?
~frustrated sigh~
The Graboids are coming!
I never thought I’d see the day when I type these words out:
But I’m holding out for the Wedding Attire sale.
~hides face with both hands~
EDIT: Apparently I didn’t see Astral’s post above (wasn’t scrolled down enough when I was posting?)
Looks like I’m picking up a gem card on the way home today.!

Good luck in your new adventures, Lena, and may your experiments enhance your understanding of the Eternal Alchemy.
… and all the good skins are so old they cost 5 tickets by now, which is kind of insane.
I never really understood why this is. To get a full set of skins in the 5-ticket department, it would take around 75 Black Lion Tickets to complete this achievement.
My ears, that’s crazy!
I find it interesting that OP’s TL;DR is longer than the content of OP’s post.
It takes me maybe 10sec each day to sell my green sigils and runes, all less than 10 of them. Seriously count how many in a day you get. Do it and then list the number here and maybe time how long it takes to sell them.
Less than 10? I sell about 100 or so per day.
Yeah, I’m about the same.
As Was Na mentioned above a Sell all minor sigils|runes would be a blessing.

As an asura main (well 3 asura mains really), I cannot disagree with this more.
“*The Black Lion Trading Company is not liable for injury or death incurred by the use of the Storm Bow. Ensure that you are holding the Storm Bow properly, and do not attempt to destabilize the elemental subjection agent. Avoid bringing your Storm Bow into contact with water, lamp oil, ectoplasm, or necromantic magic.”
I managed to keep the bow dry, I don’t use oil-based lamps, and who has a necromancer with a bow? (no one, that’s who). But… I missed the warning about ectoplasm and tried to salvage a rare.
The results were not pretty.
(The bow, on the other hand: really nice.)
But now it’s covered in ectoplasmic residue, right?
I only have one character that’s been to Bloodstone Fen, and yet all my characters are seeing these ghosts all over Tyria, even in the guild hall. So that leads me to believe that these ghost sightings are not really bloodstone related.
What will really worry me is if all my characters do a (scream!) all over Tyria!
So Wild Eye Miller was right all along!
You can’t stop TWO Gnashblades!
Only time I’ve used it is to draw attention in VB, to assist with people gathering to defend rally points only. I would use it for anything similar, but not if it requires giving out information or instruction.
Wouldn’t do it any other time because mostly, I’m people-averse, and can’t be bothered with the hassle you get if you do even the tiniest thing wrong.
This is pretty much me exactly.
Don’t know the hours, but I’ve been playing nightly since April 2015.
Precursors found: 0
As I stated in another thread, we saw one when we were roleplaying in the Lost Precipice guild hall, but in one of the rooms to the west. It was too fast to get a screenshot.
Yes! I saw one when I gathered the bloodstone at Harathi. Was within a few feet from it. He looked like a normal-sized leyline walker. And yes, like you said, he stood there for a few seconds before he disappeared.
Intriguing.
I spent quite a while in my Guild Hall earlier trying to lvl up that most frustrating crafting profession….Scribing, when i noticed anomaly-like apparition there! It was an average human size, appeared for a few seconds then vanished, not just once but twice over a course of couple of hours and in different parts of the GH. First time i saw it, it really freaked me out and i thought whaa? in the guild hall? I was thinking i must be sleepy and seeing things, but when it appeared the 2nd time i knew this is either a glitch or intentionally done to scare us out of our wits lol. Well it worked! haha. At least for a little while.
For the record, we saw one in in our guild hall last night as well. Nowhere is safe!
WOO! SHINYS!
I didn’t really like “guild map ownership” in Guild Wars 1. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t like it in this game.
~snip~
After all, I may go into the map with the intention of doing the daily, but literally have no idea what is going on where/when. So therefore, I need to ask, to get me pointed in the right direction, otherwise I’ll be wandering around aimlessly.
~snip~
Interesting. The very first thing I do when I waypoint into a daily map is…check the map for contested waypoints. 9 times out of 10, there’s an event going on there.
I do block and report, but it really does get annoying when I get 5 messages from 5 different randomly generated names all saying the exact same message within 7 minutes of each other.
Someone on tumblr posted a screencap of a guy named Freddie Mercury, dressed in pink, with the “Killer Queen” title – that’s game over imo.
@mia: if you have a link, I’d love to see this. (I couldn’t find it via google or tumblr searches).
That’s awesome!
That’s why all the good players left, along with the good pvp community.
Today I learned that since I don’t PvP at all, AND since I’m still playing this game nightly, I’m not a good player at all.
I’m going to suggest rapidly respawning packs of pocket raptors for the guild halls then, and make them able to swim also.
I think they would be cool.
Oh, Pocket Raptors with with piranhas strapped to their backs!
If you really want to make your Guild Hall waters dangerous, add piranhas. They’ll take out any shark with no problems.
Sometimes when I’m in a particular RP mood, I’ll take my character Myndee to the Priory and welcome them. After a couple minutes, I’m already being message suppressed. ~sigh~
Or they could just bring back Polymock and enhance it with more collectible pieces you find all around Tyria.
Now you’re talking!
As an asura main, I wish there were craftable magitech consoles, desks, lab goodies, and other asura related decorations.
As an asura main, I actually got chills when Taimi announced her discovery.
Try to Tag up even around Mentors people gather.
This is true. I’ve sometimes used my mentor tag just to show that there’s someone covering a certain area of Verdant Brink and within a couple minutes I have 10 others with me.
This is pretty much my gliding experience in Bloodstone Fen.
You can make her stop by completing the event.
Again?
I agree with the OP. Dont add more of one thing that the other. Extras are cool but 10 extras for 1 point is a very slippery slope…
This is the problem, added 7 mastery points for a mastery track that requires 1 point, and the required point was even rewarded for completing the mission to get to Bloodstone Fen.
I say it gives the players more choice of where to get their MP. What is the “problem” with it?
That’s what we’re trying to figure out, because only OP seems to be upset with how it is now.
Never heard of it.
Same. I don’t WoW.
Me neither.
I remember in the old days of Guild Wars 1 where random people would pop up in All Chat saying how World of Warcraft was soooo much better than Guild Wars, which was usually met with “Then why are you here?” comments.
^Aren’t those default? If not, then I amend my former statement to say: I have those, as well.
Are they? I could have sworn I changed them myself. Maybe I’m going nuts in my middle age.
I set my “Run” to R, and my walk toggle to “Z”.
Jade event chain, collect from stalagmites after each battle, finishing with the unbound guardian. Ghostly Justicar chain. Mine all the bloodstone crystal nodes, kill every mob.
And those floating orbs? Glide through those, or fall though if you jump from the diving spot.
I’d like something that looks like the Plamsa Rifle, but bigger (longer?), and instead of bullets it normally shoots, I want an actual plasma beam (like the Memser greatsword), accompanied with an appropriate plasma-ish beam sound.
My engineer Jaxxi requires this.
Of course it’s fair, it’s being monitored by Top Men.
CTRL+X
Very, very “No” on both of those, thank you.
What I would like to see is a description field that the player can fill out, that others can read by right clicking on the character.
If you’re a RPer, you can fill it with a brief backstory or RP notes. If you want people to know what kind of gear or build you have, you can list it there for them to read. And if you want to duel people, you can start/join a guild made for that (with a guild hall arena), and put in your description that you’ll gladly accept all challenges by going to the arena in your guildhall and fighting.
Now, as an RPer, this I would like to have.
I’ll have to say no to both of OP’s suggestions though.
The wiki IS awesome, and I refer to it all the time.
FYI: For those that don’t know, if your type /wiki <name of thing you’re interested in> it minimizes the game and opens the wiki page of that thing you’re interested in.
For example /wiki World Boss or /wiki WB will open a page on the wiki that has a running and constantly updating list of world boss timers.
Please no weeb stuff
I’m sorry, what?
kinda takes the magic out of it when you can fly from the Cantle of the Sun to the water one, or the air one to the others
There is nothing preventing you from doing the JP the same way as before.
This is what I do at every jumping puzzle, the old fashioned way, even when mesmer portals appear all around me.
I really don’t understand OP’s complaint about people using gliders. If they don’t want to use a glider at a jumping puzzle, then don’t use it.
That asura should have invested in waypoints.
This guy has tones of amaizing asura draws!

C’mon Anet take inspirations from ppl who actually play and love asurans!
That second picture is exactly what I had in mind when I requested longer hairstyles for asura. Thanks for posting that!
I have no idea what op is so worried about.
Asura- Wraps, up-do’s, Nothing crazy fancy because they’re asura, but more practical styles.
Personally, I think asura, especially females, have enough up-do’s. I’d me more interested in longer hairstyles.
