Your skin will wrinkle and your youth will fade, but your soul is endless.
i wish that mount were avilable in that game its can be nice and solve mobilitay problome what do you guys think?
What mobility problem?
Don’t games with a goodly amount of blood have a rating of M? That would be the reason, I suspect.
I’m happy to have a less gore-filled game to play, but that’s just me.
Yeah I’m pretty happy too.
To be fair, they’ve responded a few times and even talked a little about it in developer chats, but nothing concrete on the issue. I think it’s important to keep this discussion going for both veteran and new players of both games. Even if we don’t get Cantha in GW2, perhaps it will change things for the next installment of the franchise (GW3) etc.
Oh I know they have responded. But that hasn’t been for a while. And this is one of the longest running threads on the forums. Surprised it hasn’t just been locked.
I’m hoping it’s because secretly the mods want to return to Cantha too. In the meantime, let’s not give them any ideas about locking this beautiful thread.
I’m interested as well as I just got one of these yesterday.
I only have the one character. She will have to do.
~snip~
Why aren’t everything… asura sized?
~snip~
Because we think big.
This game pails in comparison of other game’s emotes.
Then again they took away one of the female auto stances and refuse to explain why….
They did explain why but it was a terrible reason. The explaination is someone complained when certain idle animations were playing during cutscenes. Namely during the one cutscene back during LS Season 1 at the Breachmaker. Some players felt it made their character silly during a serious scene.
So they took out that idle animation. Which is funny cause fast forward to LS Season 2 where our MINIs ruin another scene involving Caithe.
Reminds me of Guild Wars 1, where if you had a Minion Master in your group, their minions would be attacking things, usually NPCs, during the cutscenes.
The new female charr hairstyles are horrible. Even if someone offered to pay me money to get them on my charr I wouldn’t take it.
Orly? What if they offered to pay you one MILLION dollars.
A million dollars isn’t exactly a lot of money these days… </No.2>
As a newish player myself (started in March with one of the 75% off sales), I think it certainly is an injustice to those who have been here for a while and someone who just started demands to have Item X right away. Work for it just like everyone else did. That’s what I’ll be doing.
Kids today…
Its not elitisism, its a valid option if you are too lazy to make a group.
They are already soloable, just takes some effort instead of steamrolling.
They are not soloable to the vast majority of players. Take your elitism somewhere else.
how is anything what malediktus said elitist?
how is “story mode dungeons are soloable, there’s just some effort involved” elitist in any way?
or are you just throwing the “e” word at any post you dislike?
Let’s all just all just through sweeping generalizations out there at each other.
Also, Kal Spiro has contested a few posts already, but because he used “elitist” once, apparently he’s out to get everyone that disagrees with him? Let’s not go down this road, it leads to nowhere.
Anyways, I would like to be able to actually see my character in story dungeon cutscenes, but unless I enter the dungeon first I can’t. And if more than one person in the group is in this situation some one is getting the short end of the stick. I personally like playing in groups, but some adjustment to this would be nice, like rotating who’s talking in each speaking part or something.
This was actually my biggest problem with Arah storymode. It’s the last step of the personal story (if you exclude the epilogue) and only 20% of the party gets to see themselves in the cut scenes.
It’s the only time in the personal story you’re required to group up at all, and it’s not only unfair, but it’s annoying to see another character, possibly a complete stranger, being thanked by Destiny’s Edge for bringing them together. It’s just bad.
This is the main reason why even in Guild Wars 1 I didn’t care for groups, especially if it was a mission I hadn’t done before. Someone else was in the spotlight in my story.
I’d also like to add my vote to making dungeons soloable since my only character is a necromancer and I like to watch cutscenes (even in Guild Wars 1, after 10 years I still like to watch the cutscenes), that’s a double guarantee that I’ll be kicked from a group. I’d rather just keep to myself and not take up other players time.
The cowbell is strong with this thread.
~dok~dok~dok~dok~dok~dok~
Since my only character is a Necromancer, I’m very interested to see how this will all turn out.
If there was an option to make a Charr that looked like the Axe Fiend or Blade Storm Charr of Guild Wars 1, complete with running on two legs, armor down the back of the neck, etc., I would create a Charr character in a heartbeat.
Oh, you mean this old MMO?
It’s got daily updates
It’s a kittening kitten to grind though.
And that one life limitation….

Runs just fine on my CAD machine at work (when I’m on my lunch break of course).
My wife is Chinese so everything should be good to go. ~thumbs up~
I think an even more interesting question would be how many 5 year old humans could Mordremoth and its minions take on?
My necro’s name is Cascade, my guildies think it would be funny if it was called “Palmolive”.
Well you’d certainly be soaking in it.
Hmmm I must contemplate these names on the Tree of Woe.
On topic, well sorta, are we going to look over the fact that OP has an astonishing 36 characters?
Im getting there, i have 12, with another 4 planned…so…
I have…five…with no foreseeable extras….
Ewww that is so boring!!! xD I have 10 charr, 1 sylvari, and 1 human. All female. When HOT drops im going to get another 3, for an asura(for AP), norn(for AP) and a male(Maybe) Charr Revanent(To level to 80). Each one of my characters uses different skins, sets, traits, skills, weapons etc, so its never the same playing experience! I hate swapping builds on my characters once i get them set up in something, so i end up making another for another build!
Be prepared for further astonishment (you’re sitting down, right?):
I only have ONE character!
Excuse: I’ve only been playing a couple months. I have others planned but it might be a while before I create them.
In Guild wars 1 I only have one male character, a ranger who also happens to be my oldest character at 10 year old now. I hated everything about him from the way he talked to the way he moved to the way he spoke. The only reason I still have him is because he is my first and oldest and I just can’t let that go.
The rest of my characters are females which I enjoyed greatly for a wide variety of reasons.
In this game, so far I only have a female Asuran and I’m having a lot of fun with her.
Did you also play with barbies instead of GI joes growing up?
No, I played with Tonka trucks, green army men, and built models of airplanes. So much for your idiotic stereotype.
Did you know in Guild Wars 1 the dragon Glint lives in a grain of sand?
I’ve witnessed players post stacks o 2 to 5 portal stones in map chat and say they weren’t even trying for them. They just got them while doing regular things.
Make of that what you will.

- M570 – yes, a trackball – for my mouse. Mumble PTT key is mapped to M4, full GW2 map to M5. Left click is starting to break down – a common issue with the M570 – but I just need to open the case and coat the contact pad with crazy glue to fix it. In the meantime, I’ve been practicing with mouse emulation mode on the G13 – not ideal, but serviceable.
That’s funny, I thought I was the only one that used the M570 Trackball in this game! I have a legitimate reason thought, the machine I play on also doubles as an AutoCAD machine, and that mouse is perfect for long AutoCAD sessions.
I’ve seen Dhuum in action in Guild Wars 1, it’s chilling to say the least.
Glad to see justice done here.
It seems to me that the majority of the people that do not want mounts in the game came from Guild Wars 1 (such as myself), and the people that want mounts in this game came from some other game such as World of Warcraft.
Mounts will just make you lazy and fat.
Will there be jumping puzzles?
The idea has been brought up, but the implementation on a 2d surface is a bit daunting. But right now it’s onthe back burner as we want to get combat nailed down first.
But we did account for jumping mechanics in the game, so it is something we want to explore and flesh out.
~I hate when I get a New Private Message and get all excited, but then it turns out that some mod just moved a thread~ :/
Actually, that was a bit a of a joke question, but that’s really cool that your group has actually considered it!
Man, I haven’t done any table top adventuring since, ‘84? (I don’t count my friends Axis and Allies game that he recreated on a 8′×5′ sheet of plywood).
Will there be jumping puzzles?
Apparently, according to op, the rest of us aren’t having any fun at all.
Wear sunscreen.
Wow, the forum veterans were right, there really IS a mounts thread every week!
Here you go http://fantasynamegenerators.com/ this helped me alot
Yep, I always use that website whenever I have a name creation block.
I almost want it to come come back just so what I can see what all the kittening fuss is about.
I’ve been playing today to get my new weapons. I do like my twin axes.
Yep, I got those axes as well. To be honest, I was completely surprised they added new content, albeit small, to a game that is on maintenance only status.
have a look round FB for the group: Guild Wars: A New Hope
still plenty of active players if you’re needing a group to play with
Yep, I’m a member of this group. It has over 1,000 members, so it’s quite easy to find someone to play with.
Looking at a Guardian in Lion’s Arch right now named Deal or No Heals.
They haven’t found a way around this for 10 years. I don’t think they’re going to address this anytime soon.
It never ceases to amaze me to see the lengths people go to stalk others, both in game and in the real world.
Of course we’re not rats, we’re Asurans!
Just remember, we don’t get older, we level up.
46 here.
Technically I’ve been a gamer since my mom brought home PONG in the 1970s.
You also gotta remember that forum folk are the vocal minority
It’s good to remember that. Thanks.
Jeremy kittening Soule! There’s a reason why he’s called the John Williams of game music.
Yes, spaces are characters and are a great way to meet the 15 character limit. Which reminds me of the time when we were at the movies. We sat at the top row and the movie hadn’t started yet. There were some teenage girls across the aisle from us. One of them got up and started down the stairs, when suddenly she slipped and fell, and all I could see from my position were her legs swinging over. Some people started screaming, but suddenly she popped up and stated “I’m ok!” and continued down the stairs. She eventually came bag with a huge plastic bag of popcorn. No idea how she pulled that off. True story!
And that’s why people type /15char.
From the other side of the Great Wall of Ascalon…
My Puppet Master has seen fit to only create me. I’m alone in the world. I have no siblings, no one to share my stories, or be jealous of. I’m it.
My Puppet Master takes me out all the time. Sure, I get to do and see a lot of things, but my little Asuran body can only take so much. When will I get some rest? Puppet Master has named me Zerina In Aeternum, which means “Eternal”, I fear I may be doing this forever.
~sighs~
FYI , three players just posted their portal drops in Dry Top in the space of 10 minutes.
Just spotted in Lion’s Arch, a character dressed sort of pirate-like: Picnic Plunderer.
I watched some gameplay of Dry Top last night as I haven’t been there yet (new-ish player), and it seems that one thing is for certain, I can count on a lot of deaths by falling!
For me, since I like to pay cash for things, buying a Steam card makes things a bit easier to pay for things, especially since Gem cards seem to be hard to come by in my area.
I completely understand Anets’ non-association with Steam though.
