Your skin will wrinkle and your youth will fade, but your soul is endless.
The OP brings up Black Desert. I’ve seen videos of it and it does look to have some cool things. The red flag for me, though, is that as I understand it BD will have open world PvP that you can’t avoid.
Hmm… well, I guess I won’t be getting that game.
You are mixing up the difference between gold reward and materials rewards.
The chest train contributes to the item side of thing, not the gold side, so it can’t ever be used to add money into the game. The fact that this course of action is profitable is only due to the fact that players would rather buy items at high prices then participate in the activity. The “value” of the chest train is proportional to the number of people who run it vs the number of people who need the things it drops.
If they nerfed the train you may find yourself paying 4s for a silk scrap and 1g for T6 mats.
I see this problem. But I only wish for the material awards to be added to dungeons instead of SW, because doing dungeons and fractals is a lot more fun. A good way to do this would be to be to nerf SW and instead let people buy raw materials bags with the dungeon tokens and fractal relics.
So, force people to your way and nothing else? What if the player doesn’t like dungeons or fractals? Too bad for them eh?
I played Guild Wars 1 for ten years, still do a couple nights a week. I expect Guild Wars 2 to last at least as long.
This comes up periodically when people misunderstand that salvage kits/mining tools are not a stack of tools, but a single tool with a limited number of uses before it “wears out”
It’s one kit that you can use 25 times, or 250 for the mystic ones.
It’s one mining pick that you can use 100 times before it wears out, not a stack of 100 mining picks each with a single use.
I mean come on, how silly is it to think a mining pick has only a single use and you buy them in stacks of 100?
This is why they don’t stack, and cannot be merged.
^ He’s right you know.
Hey, so let’s start by the beginning, I have recently bought a gaming mouse (Logitech G502, a very good deal BTW) and i’m trying to improve my clumsy key-binding.
Problem : It’s hard to tell what is “legit” and what is against the rules. According to my research there are 2 general rules : " key binding = OK, sophisticated macro = not OK" and “1 key = 1 action”.
But I would like your opinion (or better a dev opinion) on these cases :
1) What about using a script to create some chain events ?
For example : If I click once on my mouse button it will trigger my utility skill 1, if I click again on the same button it will trigger my utility skill 2, finally If I click a third time it will trigger my utility skill 3.
This way I could create a 3-skills combo by clicking 3 time in a row on the same button.2) What about : 1 click = a double click ?
Let’s say I want to use a ground targeted ability. I bind this ability on my mouse button 4, and choose that every time I click on my button 4 it clicks 2 times on the ground targeted ability. It seems to respect the rules of “1 key = 1 action”.3) What about binding a skill to the mouse wheel (scrolling up or down) ?
GW2 doesn’t let you bind a skill to the mouse wheel, so I will have to use my mouse software (and obviously it’s an external software).
Moreover my G502 have a “free spinning wheel” option, so basically if I bind the left-click on scroll down I can produce thousands of clicks per minute (I’m coming for you champ bags !).
Not sure about questions 1 and 3, but for question 2 I actually bound a key to act as a double click on all those stacks in my inventory, essentially turning 250 double clicks into 125 key strokes.
Anet doesn’t seem to want to make a “use all” option to save our hand health, so I gotta do what I gotta do.
So in other words, better get while the gettin’s good?
I can see it now, the entire zone has been conquered by nasty Quaggans. The horror!
I got the regular i7 4790 (I’m just not an overclocker), GTX 720 (or is it 760? I forget as I’m at work and my gaming PC is at home), and the game runs beautifully. Massive zergs aren’t really much of a problem on high settings even with all the particle effects going on. FPS might drop below 60, but it’s not too bad. Looks great too.
it would be more nicer if the Minis was keep in towns only . and not let out side of towns ever again .
Turning your own mini off is too difficult for you? Gotta punish everyone just so you can stealth?
I don’t know about you, but when I’m in combat I never see my mini because I’m focusing on the enemy. I forget all about it until the minis-are-hidden-due-to-high-population message appears during boss fights.
~shrugs~
No disconnects this time, but I did see lots of lag-related issues today.
Hm.. Maybe a Quaggan suit.
Y’know, made from actual quaggans. The back would be lined with fins, and the gloves and boOOoots would be yawning quaggan faces, deadened, glassy eyes set in horror.
I like your style.
Throwing in my support for a toggle. Hand health is important to us.
Actually I’m taking a break from Guild Wars 2 today, and messing around in Guild Wars 1 instead.
~the nostalgia is real~
I dunno, I had 10 shovels at the start of this week, I have 60+ now. ~shrugs~
No way in hell some of these changes stay.
I don’t know, I think a lot of what Robert said is very reasonable. The chill damage isn’t going to be amazing still. The greatsword will not do more dps to a single target than the dagger, the changes to shouts are necessary to make them viable. I think most, the greater majority, of those changes will stay.
AND IF ANYONE HERE GIVES FEEDBACK ABOUT THE REAPER BEING OP TO ANET NEXT BETA I WILL PERSONALLY CASTRATE THEM -.-
I’ll hold em down for ya
I’ll lock the door and stand lookout.
Going more for a goth-girl than death-approaches look, Zerina stands watch over Blue Oasis.
Well this is encouraging news.
What happened to Mai Trin? She’s currently residing in my Mini collection.
I get mine at Best Buy.
Same here.
Is there any discount or bonus to buying them that way? I’ve never seen any but I’d hunt them down if there was perks.
Not that I’m aware of. I think it’s just an option for people (like myself) that would rather pay in cash.
Why buy outside the game, can you find them cheaper?
Not everyone has a debit/credit card.
For others, some things are best left off the credit/debit card reports. Less arguments that way. ????
I get mine at Best Buy.
Same here.
The Charr, despite their warlike ways, are brilliant. Their designs may be ugly, but they work, and they work well, and that’s important. They’ve shown their worth and I have a lot of respect for them.
The Booka… I mean, the Humans, I do have a lot of admiration for them. They have lost so much, and yet their spirit and determination remains strong. If only their leaders of old didn’t make such dumb decisions which killed off entire populations.
The Norns, they have their brawn, but only a few of them have brains as well. Still, they will be useful in the upcoming events. I think I’d like to have one as a mount.
We Asurans, despite our small statures, have contributed greatly to this effort with our knowledge and our technology. We used our minds and everyone benefits from us. The Inquest, they’re a bunch of buffoons, and their attempts at controlling the Eternal Alchemy is hurting Tyria more than helping,
The Quaggans, I don’t see much use for them. They’re meat shields at best, which is why I’m studying them to find out what their threshold of pain is. I’ve gathered a lot of data (points at stacks of journals filled with notes that are well protected against vandalism) but more research is required before I can turn the data over to the Arcane Council.
The Tengu seem useful, if only we could get them out from behind their walls.
The Centaurs could be valuable allies, if only we could get them to give up their irrational obsession of wiping out the Booka….I mean, the Humans.
You Sylvari though….are an enigma, and apparently easily controlled. You need futher study for the benefit of all.
Love and comapssion is nice and all, but that won’t save us. Knowledge is where the true power lies, and don’t we all want to be as powerful as we can be to defeat these dragons?

I don’t mind him.
~shrugs~
Since there are no horses in this game, maybe Charr could be domesticated and fitted with a saddle. (I know of one LA Charr in particular, who would be a popular Mount).
As an Asuran, this might be useful for me. Who run Barter Town?

I recently built a beefy computer, so no.
Before that, I wasn’t playing Guild Wars 2, but I was playing other games on lower settings.
As an Asuran, I find the Sylvari to be an interesting anomaly worthy of study. One of these days I’ll have to study a few in my lab. However, my lab is currently filled with Quaggans while I research how high their threshold of pain is.
~turn up power~ “Was that excruciating?”
#WhatMakesThemTick?
Wednesday Addams.
1.
I’ve only been playing since April, and I only have three characters overall, but 98.53% of my time is spent with my Necromancer. Despite perception of the class, I absolutely love her.
The Black Moa Quest is unlikely if he is playing on his own, apart from the hunt for the parts ( yes wiki can help ) he would still need to beat the forgeman in sorrows furnace in order to get the lava pot drop ( unless its been changed ) and unless he has full heros to do it solo, henchmen are highly unlikely to cut it ( again unless its been nerfed )
I dunno, I beat the Foregman years ago with henchmen only (before heroes were introduced), and I didn’t have any runes or inscriptions either, because I was a noob and I didn’t know any better.
In the meantime, I programmed a key on my gaming keyboard to act as a left mouse button double click. Now it’s only 125 key presses instead of 250 double clicks.
Never thought about using mouse scroll, may have to try that.
Still, really need an “open/use all” option.
Glad I got mine last week. I had a nagging feeling that I had better get it soon while it was still on sale.
~whew!~
The outfits are nice, but really the only outfit I’d like to see that’s Guild Wars 1 related is the Elite Noble.
Yeah, I tried open world PvP in another game, where anyone can come along and gank you at any time, even when you’re talking to an NPC, even though there were flagged challenge areas. It didn’t take long for me to uninstall that game.
No thanks.

Oh, so it’s been 14 days since the last mounts topic. That’s two weeks! A new record!
You know, there are always other daily catagories than fractals you can do. No need to hate on fractals, just do other dailies.
Of course!
But I think the point OP is making is that in order to complete the daily, OP would HAVE to do a Fractal because Fractals take up two spots in the daily completion list.
Yes, I miss those events too, and I wonder why they didn’t implement more.
I think this can be answered the same way as questions such as…
Why didn’t they add:
etc.
The answer to all of these is “Who knows?”
I didn’t get the daily done because it was a fractal. Oh well, there’s always tomorrow.
Old Lion’s Arch from Guild Wars 1? Cool!
Welcome to Tyria, where life is a constant struggle, and there’s never any peace. Have fun!
I don’t. It just sorta happens.
This. It kind of follows me around where ever I go in the game^^
Same here. I don’t even pay attention to it really.
You must do what you feel is right, of course.
</Obi Wan>
My vigil continues. I will not shave my beard until I can see my utilities while in death shroud.
ANet, my beard is getting pretty grisly. It’s starting to effect my work-life and personal relationships. Please don’t let my sacrifice be in vain: let us see the cooldowns of our utilities while in death shroud.
I love your dedication, and I’m completely on board with your cause. However, I see one problem with your strategy. It could very well be that the fine folks at Anet like epic beards.
I’ve always wondered what was the reasoning for “Let’s have less emotes” was. I can only come up with two answers:
Laziness or greed (Oh you want more emotes? We have an emote package available in the gems store for cheap. Only 1200 gems, buy two sets today!)
Never heard of the guy.
~shrug~
~performs thread necromancy~
I saw an Asura in Silverwastes named “Silverwastes Hero” and I thought of this thread. That has to be some dedicated planning.
personally, i liked the heroes. It gave us options. I played GW1 from release, and quite frankly the majority of the time my heroes out performed most pug groups.
Call it anti-social or whatever, but its nice to go your own speed at times. Stop, smell the roses, sip a coffee, answer a phone. Heroes never got ticked off if you stepped away or were just being slow and meticulous.
In todays game, all you see are speed runs, people wanting an AP>xxx, gotta be on teamspeak, gotta do x amount of dmg or get kicked, or even get to the end of the dungeon and get kicked for no reason other than the leader wants a friend to get credit on the last boss.
That has been pretty much my experience as well.
Fortunately, I’m part of a very helpful alliance in Guild Wars 1, and a member of a very cool guild here in Guild Wars 2. They even let me bring my necromancer.
Silliest complaint? Yeah it’s pretty silly, but I think the “Remove and delete inactive/dead player account so I can steal their name” thread is giving OP a serious run for the money.
This OP has better style by far though, so +1 to OP.
The whole premise of this thread makes me laugh.
New thread:
Title: MY MINI IS TOO SMALL!ANet, please make my all my minis the size of the Mystical Dragon. And while you’re at it, make my dragon twice as big. Tyvm.
