Your skin will wrinkle and your youth will fade, but your soul is endless.
Zod, people will complain about anything.
I’m running the latest WinAuth, 3.18. You can get it to dump the keys with the export selection in the settings drop down of WinAuth, the gear.
If you don’t want the exported file to be either a password encrypted zip file or a PGP encrypted text file don’t check either option and simply click on browse to chose the folder where an plain unencrypted text file is dumped.
Open that file and look for the line containing the word “GuildWars” and your 16 character key is after “secret=” and before the “&digits=6”.
otpauth://totp/GuildWars?secret=<ThisistheSecretKey>&digits=6
Worked for me, thanks!
Love you Gaile.
Well this is disconcerting as I just bought Season 2 a couple days ago. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.
For those of you saying “China dragon”, you meant Mystic Dragon from Cantha right? Right?
Is it just me when people say “original Lion’s Arch”, the Lion’s Arch from Guild Wars 1 comes to mind?
There used to be one called Sweet Agony [SwAg], but I haven’t seen that post bumped in such a long time; cannot tell you if they are recruiting anymore or not (frankly, if leadership/officership is active enough to recruit).
I joined it early on since I main a necromancer, but then (from what I understand) the guild creator left (but I do see that person in these forums from time to time). Then, no matter what time of day it was, no matter how many showed online in the guild list, nobody talked. I’m a bit of a social person, so it kind of bugged me that every time I tried to start a conversation, nobody talked.
So I left.
I don’t mind Traeharne at all, but then I’ve always been a very patient person and not easily bothered.
I’m thankful that I’m in a guild that’s filled with supportive people that are ok with me bringing my necromancer to their dungeon tours.
right, kryta was quite african before, wasnt’ it?
I’ve always felt it was more Polynesian of possibly South American.
Erasure?
Sometimes it feels like Anet is a Ship of Fools who fail to give even A Little Respect to the lore of GW2. I understand that the Chains of Love that people have for GW1 makes people wish that this game would Star more of the old history.
Lots of players feel Oh, L’amour, for GW1 of course, but I fear Cantha is a Victim of Love… and Who Needs Love Like That?
People really need to Stop all the Drama and leave it in The Circus. Anet crosses River Deep, Mountain High to bring us this amazing game!
How long have you been waiting to do that?
Updates are generally every other Tuesday so I wouldn’t expect one today.
So far they’ve been every other Tuesday except for the times they weren’t every other Tuesday but either skipped a Tuesday or didn’t skip a Tuesday but was the following Tuesday in which case the Tuesday following the Tuesday that was or was not skipped then became the new every other Tuesday.
I hope that clears it up.
This is why you’re one of my favorite posters.
Obviously the final boss will be Anet.
Fortunately, Thread Necromancy has a VERY long cool down.
If people are otherwise carelessly throwing out or destroying items from inventory, it’s their own fault.
If something so insignificant bothers you so much, that’s your own problem.
That’s exactly what I was thinking.
One truism that I’ve learned in my gaming life is that some people just aren’t happy unless they’re complaining about something. I’ve witnessed this in every game forum I’ve ever joined.
~breaks into golem dance while singing MJ~
Mini Jeans can barely cover
They’re called a pair but really they’re just the one.
And they don’t shield the sun.
They’re really just the one, and they don’t shield the sun
~keeps on rocking the golem dance~
Hmmm, interesting. We’re already pretty short, Heck, my Asuran is already shorter than most other Asurans. We’d be wearing the shortest shorts ever made.
Same here. Lag that’s not been experienced before and frequent disconnects.
“But trust us and prepurchase HoT, it will be an awesome experience on release.”
Yep, sometimes I get about 10 disconnects in 6 minutes. A several of my guild mates and people in map chat are complaining about the horrible lag as well.
Edited for spelling

Going back to Cantha?
Sure, I’d love that.
But so long as some cooperate desk jockey thinks it will offend people, I won’t hold my breath for it.Was that their reason for not doing cantha again?
smh…..
cause it offended the east from what i heard
Refresh my memory, was anyone offended by Cantha in Guild Wars 1?
A few days ago I came across a bunch of role players in a tavern in Ebonhawke. I was with my Charr warrior getting the place explored and hearts done when I noticed role play chat. I actually love listening in on role play, some of it is quite fascinating, but I’ve always been reserved about jumping in as I don’t want to make things awkward.
So I decided that I would be a background character so to speak. I set myself to walk (can’t have a Charr just running into a tavern), and while all this chat was going on, I walked inside the tavern and approached the bar.
Me: “Barkeep, a drink please.”
There was actually a player behind the bar, and he walked over to me.
Barkeep: “What’ll you have”
Me: “Ale, make it two.”
He walked back to a different part of the bar, crouched down to make it look like he was getting something, and walked back.
Barkeep: “Here you are sir.”
Me: “Thanks!”
Then I used the /me function to describe how I drank down the first ale in 4 gulps, but spent some time to savor the second one. Then I described handing over more than enough money and telling the barkeep to keep the change before walking out the door.
That small interaction there was so full of awesome for me and I really hope that added to whatever the real role players were doing by making the scene be more alive.
To the OP, just keep your eyes open on the chat. I’ve witnessed plenty of role play action in places like Divinity’s Reach, Black Citadel, Wizard’s Feif, and Ebonhawke as described above. Good luck and have fun!
Total Characters: 3. One for each order.
- Necromancer 1 – 80 (Order of Whispers)
- Elementalist 1 – 26 (Will join the Priory)
- Warrior 1 – 74 (Will join the Vigil)
You don’t need to buy an unlimited harvesting set for each and every character you have. I only have the one set (Mad Scientist’s) that I trade between my three characters.
This is pretty much why I never play with PUGs.
I tried to stay as true to Guild Wars lore and naming conventions as possible.
Keirlann Aurion - I started playing Guild Wars in the year of its release, 2005, which was not long after the release of Tales of Symphonia on the GameCube. Kratos was my favorite character, so I ganked his last name to use on Soja Aurion, my Ranger in that game. Keirlann is his descendant, and also takes his first name from one I cobbled together from Anglo-Saxon elements for a Ranger in a Pathfinder game I had back in 2009.
Interesting, my first character in Guild Wars 1 is named Aurion Ulster.
Can’t please everyone I guess…
“You break IT, I break you.”
All of my characters have the name Tyr in them. I got the name from Breath Of Fire 1, it was the main of the end boss at the (which was actually a girl) but years later the changed it to Maria because Tyr was just a bad translation. However ive been using the name for almost 20 years now and almost legally had a name change (yep).
Tyr XIII
Tyr X I I I (tattood on me)
Tyr V I
Tyrannus Krogan (Mass Effect is King)
Tyrzamaeus Krogan
Aelia Valtyrie
Tyrael Stormbringer (my most used name in every mmo, though its usually Tyr Stormbringer)
Tyrael Worldwalker
Czar Tyr Boudabras (Boudabras is Elven for Chaos in the Demon Wars elf language)
Tyr Almighty
Tyr Above All (name ive been using the most recently)…
I really hope you know the origin of the name ‘Tyr’ – it’s a norse god.
It’s also where we get Tuesday from. I think it’s interesting that 4 out of the 7 days of the week are named after Norse gods.
Zerina In Aeternum – Zerina doesn’t really mean anything, I just thought it sounded nice. In Aeternum basically means “eternal” which I thought was fitting since I played Guild Wars for 10 years now.
Alastrine Aeternum – Alastrine was the name of my mesmer in Guild Wars 1, Alastrine Isolde.
Thorsimund – Named after the Visigoth King Thorismund, (there seems to be two spellings of his name but I like the way I spelled it because I think it sounds better this way).
Looking at a Charr character right now in Black Citadel named Dirge of Gibberish.
Does this mean that everything this person says is gibberish?
Just one of the many useful and wanted things that were in Guild Wars 1, that somehow, for some unknown reason, did not get included in Guild Wars 2.
It really makes no sense at all.
bad idea and I’m not even going to go into why, I’m sure you can figure it out for yourself.
Agreed, bad idea. However, since OP started this thread, I doubt they can fidure out why.
Well since you’re just standing around taking pictures, maybe you could help out a bit.
“Thanks for pitching in!”
The .dat file for the core game is about 20GB (at least that’s how big mine is) if that’s what you’re asking.
Hmm, I’ve heard that whistle, but I certainly never dropped dead. Interesting.
Spared no expense? Is John Hammond involved?
I like rezzing them over and over, just to watch their armor disappear.
Wow, we made it 11 days without a mount thread, that should be a record right?
LA is awesome. It’s pretty and magical. Not even close to my expectations, not even in the same neighborhood. The architecture is really pretty wild and out there.
That’s not why LA is awesome. LA is awesome because it’s more alive than it has ever been. There are amazing things happening all over the city that just weren’t before.
Have you met some of these people? The very best is the crazy conspiracy theorist. That guy is hilarious. The fake Evon Nashblade. The Asura woman who is caring for the displaced human and char girls, plus dog. Some random guy riding around on a broom. There are so many more instances of people just having their own lives.
I also love that NPCs are actually using waypoints. I’ve never seen that before, and have often wondered about it.
Oh yeah the crazy conspiracy theory guy! lol
The transporting NPC’s reminds me of that Charr trying to sneak a keg past Vigil Warmaster Wylliam in Camp Resolve.
Star Trek also had no bathrooms. Illuminati confirmed!
Interesting. Well, then I guess we’d better watch the ledges.
Yes, of course something fun like this happens while I’m at work….
Am I the only one that thinks of Lion’s Arch in Guild Wars 1 when people mention “Old Lion’s Arch?”
may not be best…but include the one at the top of the new lighthouse in your tour…and then try the dive off the top…have fun!
I agree, the lighthouse. Plus that dive afterwards. There was some serious pucker factor!
Yeah, first person view is pretty neat, and as a mainly Asura player, I can get some very interesting perspectives.
~that is until a Charr or a Norn decides to stand in front of me with those massive wings~
Cheeky… Are you one of those asuras who happen to stand around behind human and norn females, going unnoticed?
I don’t know what you’re talking about.
~whistles innocently and nonchalantly~

Is this OP’s goodbye thread? It’s kind of hard to tell. They did state that they hate Anet now, so why stick around right?
Personally I love how Lion’s Arch evolved from it’s simple beginnings in Guild Wars 1, to what we witness today.
~golf claps for Anet~
Is it a Rock lobster?
Well it certainly wasn’t a rock. Everybody had matching towels though.
Being Asura size with a Charr or Norn sporting those huge wings in front of you adds a bit of extra challenge when doing jumping puzzles.
By the six, what have I done?
GW1 had saving, Changing, and Sharing builds as part of the game.
One of the myriad of things GW1 did right that GW2 chose not to implement.
…and nobody knows why they chose not to implement these very useful things. ~shrugs~
