500 gems is roughly 130 gold. Sprockets are currently, after fees and taxes, roughly 2.3 silver each. 20% chance per wack for a sprocket, 4 copper per wack with a ori pick. That’s 50 copper per wack savings so 26K wacks or 8.7K nodes harvested to pay off the watchwork pick.
Of course this completely ignores the convenience and 0 inventory space for spares which is really the purpose of these tools. It’s just the watchwork pick pays for itself in 1/12th the time.
Well, can’t wait for my lunchtime in about 45 minutes so I can buy this and get to whackin’.

When entering combat, you’ll become a beacon of your heroic deeds as the armor set comes to life, animating around you.
Wasn’t one of the more common complaints about the game the fact that it has too many particle effects thrown around the screen blocking peoples’ vision of the enemies?
I’m worried about the point a year down the line when most people have a piece of legendary armor and we’ll be unable to see literally anything that’s going on during world events.
You think that’s bad, just wait til you’re with several Charr or Norn that have those view blocking wings AND have Legendary armor and weapons.
Well…save your gems for something else? ~shrugs~
The first time I ever heard of Angry Joe was during the whole Microsoft Xbox One revelation fiasco. He was pretty angry about that (I was too actually) and had a pretty accurate assessment of the situation.
The second time I heard of him was after I bought the game last March and was looking for gameplay videos. Only watched the first 10-15 minutes, but thought the comparison to the game who shall not be named was rather amusing.
Now he’s like Billy Mays, always there yelling at me to watch his review video every time I finish watching some other Guild Wars 2 related video.
I’m more interested in seeing how many of these Free to Play’ers actually ended up buying the game.
As an Asuran, I think it’s totally fun to hide under Charr or Norn characters.
~looks at hoard of over 2 million karma~
Hmmm…
Bought!
What do I want to see added most? Cantha!
Of course weaponsmith can’t craft it. Do you bash critters with your backpiece? No. So it’s one of the armor crafts.
Silly rabbit.
Are you saying you don’t bash critters with your backpiece?
~Puts regular weapons away and performs triple back flip and lands on targeted critter, killing it with spinal blades~
What I miss is the ARMOR the Guild Wars 1 Charr had going down the back of the neck, specifically the Axe and Blade guys.
I bought the game for $10 in late March.
Since then, I’ve spent about $130 in gem cards (not all at once mind you, just $15 here and there whenever I had some extra cash, and a $25 card this past weekend).
I have not purchased Heart of Thorns just yet, but I expect to get the Ultimate Edition in about a month.
That initial $10 was a great investment and I don’t find it necessary to ask for a refund.
I still have a gazillion of my old Guild Wars 1 screens.
I think it’s sad that patience seems to be a lost virtue these days.
Silver-Fed-Salvage-o-matic on sale today only for 500 gems!
I’m not boycotting it, I just haven’t bought it yet mainly due to money issues (bit difficult to buy while supporting two households and paying off lots of medical bills. Yeah, we’re poor. ~shrugs~).
I’m just putting away a few dollars here and there until I have enough. Now that there is an official release date, it’s a bit easier to plan financially.

Twice this thread I have go.
I want Rata Sum as compensation! ALL of it! Then I can charge people admission for use of, well anything! I’ll be rich!
#goingwiththegreed
55 days until Heart of Thorns release. 55 Monk. Coincidence?
The Six sent you someone, but you put them in the friend zone.
This little exchange comes to mind.
Turhan; “How will this end?”
Kosh: “In fire.”
No time for sitting when there are dragons to deal with. Chop cop let’s go!
The Beard has spoken, it MUST be obeyed!
No one in Tyria ever witnessed the remodel? (Well whatever resides there might have performed the remodel overnight)
I never knew there was a warhorn sound. When should I be hearing it?
I never knew there was a warhorn sound. All i ever hear is the whoosh of my dagger.
Byer beware.
I don’t do dungeons and don’t care about the meta. From my point of view you are as OCD and fixated on stats as the most rabid Meta Warrior. Let it go. No one is forcing you to join the meta groups and play like them. Make your own groups and play how you like. Why in the ever loving world do you feel the need to dictate to them how they play the dungeons and what stats they use to do it. Play your own way and stop worrying about how other people play!
Once again, the Black Knight demonstrates why he’s one of my favorite posters on this forum.
You had me 10 years ago during Guild Wars open beta, you still have me today.
Happy Birthday.
Honestly I have no idea what the rate is. I spend time in the zone for a week doing all the events, champions, harvesting etc. Sunday evening after guild missions, is when I spend the time opening bags and selling stuff. Usually get 60-80g on that Sunday night, but I really couldn’t say how many hours I spent during the week to get all that.
Because everyone and there mother has them for the lolzimanageldemon look how cool I am for looking like everyone else. And they don’t flap and look stupid not to mention they are gemstore skins
Couldn’t stop to think about this video ^^
Ha!
I’m predicting that Divinity’s Reach will have an important role in a future Living Story seasons.
I don’t mind the wings at all….until a Charr or Norn with those things are blocking my view, especially when I’m trying to jump to the next location.
I, for one, don’t really give a kitten what the meta says, I’m having a great time playing my necromancer. However, I don’t really spend a lot of time in dungeons, but when I do, I consider myself very fortunate to be in a guild that lets me bring my necromancer.
Picture is relevant:
All surrounding characters stop, perform emote /point @ <insert character name>, followed by emote /laugh @ <insert character name>.
Fun? Everyone knows that fun isn’t allowed here!
I gotta say that the double tap into and out of Death Shroud has gotten me into trouble more than a few times.
Darn, and here I thought they were making a Stargate Atlantis reference.
That was my thought as well.
As an Asuran, I find the Sylvari to be an interesting anomaly worthy of study. One of these days I’ll have to study a few in my lab. However, my lab is currently filled with Quaggans while I research how high their threshold of pain is.
~turn up power~ “Was that excruciating?”
#WhatMakesThemTick?
~looks up from her journal containing notes from her latest Quaggan test subject~
This bookah understands me, which in and of itself, is rather amazing. Who is he? I must meet him!
OOC: +1 for the PB reference.
I too love the constant fighting action there.
Not bored. I just made a new character the other day and I’m having fun leveling.
My first character has it via a signet. However, I just made a new character 3 days ago, and she doesn’t have it. I’m actually enjoying it a bit more to the point where I’m actually walking to different locations instead of constantly running. Seems more pleasant that way (That may change when I get her into higher level zones).
Lose my pointer all the time, and I’m forced to wave it wildly around the screen until it reappears. Features like this are mildly annoying in PvE and more than annoying in WvW or PvP.
Where oh where can my pointer be
Anet took it away from me
It’s gone, and I don’t know where
So I got to be good
So I can see my pointer
Before I leave this ol’ zerg
+1 for the Cavaliers reference.
Don’t really know. All I can really say is don’t turn around, The Commissar’s in town.
~uses a key on OP to unlock loot~
Ooh a shiny!
Mini wall of text, but the words scattered about in all caps give it appeal.
+1
would +2 if i could be certain you were sarcastic.OP: LS is short for living story. Can you go back and revisit earlier times in your life?
…wait? you can? how? YOU MUST TELL ME! I COMMAND YOU TO TELL ME!
Magic, duh!
Will happen forever if they don’t put loot on mobs.
I refuse to waste my time killing those unrewarding mobs for god knows how many times, thats just boring to pieces, ill go tag them and move on watch some show.
Fair enough. If you somehow get downed while being afk, I’ll refuse to rezz you. Sound good?
I’ve only been playing since last April and I already have two hoards from Tequatl. Hope this helps.
Tactician Yivva says they CAN establish waypoints, not that they WILL establish waypoints.
The OP brings up Black Desert. I’ve seen videos of it and it does look to have some cool things. The red flag for me, though, is that as I understand it BD will have open world PvP that you can’t avoid.
Hmm… well, I guess I won’t be getting that game.
I could be wrong, which is why I qualified the statement. But I recall reading/hearing that at one point and instantly going meh and having the same reaction as you. You may want to do your own research to make sure.
Yep, went a took a look. Turns out you have to be a certain level, AND you get heavily penalized when you PK, even when you’re defending yourself (lose karma points and items). It’s seems people who want to PK all day long are really upset by that.
Even so, I think I’ll still steer clear of that one. I had my fill of PK jackholishness in Age of Wulin/Wushu.
