It’s not allowed in WvW or sPvP.
Also to be clear, the recipe is exotic and tradeable, but the output of said recipe is not.
I would love it, if you could use it in WvW…
But as a pure PvE item, its only use is JP’s really isn’t it? So doesn’t really have much appeal…
Indeed. The experimental teleport gun isn’t usable in dungeons or WvW either.
It’s one of those things to pull e.g. a group of guildies through a JP without having to go “ah darn it, guess I’ll load my mesmer if no one else is going to”.
Not going to bother
Rest in peace COF
…you abomination.
Not to mention 800 gems equals roughly 16g to 26g depending on whether you buy with cash or convert gold.
How long do you think it will take a weapon that drops from a boss to fall to those prices? Not long my friend, not long indeed!
The unlimited tools are barely worth it for one character either.
The only appeal these things might have had to me was account bound. That wasn’t an anti-alt movement, that was just blatant money grabbing.Nah. They do add value. And for one chara, you’ll probably end up saving in-game monies before too incredibly long. But if you alt it up it becomes financially unviable as it will take far to long to break even on the initial cost.
By current conversion rates you need to use up about 647 orichalcum tools to break even, and that’s per tool. I don’t know how much you harvest, but that takes me a long time.
To put in perspective, if you’d use a a whole orichalcum tool a day, it would take you close to two years to break even.
The unlimited tools are barely worth it for one character either.
The only appeal these things might have had to me was account bound. That wasn’t an anti-alt movement, that was just blatant money grabbing.
Wouldn’t be surprised.
Most of what they wield is extremely crude. The rifles are likely salvaged of beaten soldiers.
What I mean is that you can probably barter with them using material goods, but not money. I doubt they see a use for gold.
Well Vampires are bats if you’re not going for the mythical/fantastical definition.
Chicken or the egg?
They financially back the bandits and the centaurs to cause civil unrest to make it easier to convince people that Queen Jennah is not making good decisions, and is too young to be Queen
Inquest, Nightmare Court, White Mantle (Mursaat? probably not), Aetherblades, and more! He has an entire army!
First, I don’t remember anything saying that the Ministry is backing the centaurs financially, if you could give me a source for that, that would be great.
The lost sister story line implies that Caudecus was paying both bandits and Centaur. Your sister was sold out to the Centaurs by string pulling from Caudecus. Financially might not be the right term though. There’s money involved, but I doubt this goes to the Centaur. I doubt they’d have much use for it either.
Moa jousting!
take my money now squawk
A cynical view on things in general.
I’m unaffected either way because I can’t spend my precious time in game on repeating the same old same content. I’ll be pleasantly surprised either way.
I’m just bringing some reasoning to the table as the general assumption seems to be that the community as a whole gets kittened over whenever they change something.
Keep in mind a necromancer doesn’t drink blood and has no issues with daylight.
You can make them sparkle though!
Assuming it’s a special box you get instead of the money added to the pop up screen that has the 60 tokens.
Far easier to link money to the 60 tokens and no money to subsequent lower token counts than go out and make special pop up boxes. They already have the system, just need to tweak it some.
Thus I assume you will get a gold bonus along with your 60 tokens.
I don’t see why they should make it accountbound instead of characterbound.
To spread people more over the dungeons? The money makers are going to find a most profitable sequence within a couple of days anyway.
Making it characterbound would still introduce more profession diversity in dungeons. After all, how many players have 8 lv.80 warriors? We might actually see some necro’s and engineers in dungeons gasp
I would still assume character bound, following the dungeon tokens reasoning.
I don’t understand why it’s being said A-net hates alts. In fact the whole token wallet seems to be a push towards alts.
Meh, My Norn doesn’t either.
Maybe it’s profession based? My Charr warrior does, my Norn ranger doesn’t. Nor does my Sylvari mesmer. My Human guardian does again.
Perhaps only heavies do. I really don’t know.
It’s too much. But then again, these achievements are clearly made so you have to pick on candidate or the other if you have below average game time.
It’s not hostility against the OP. Arguably, of the posse of followers the OP is the least demanding of the bunch.
I am however stressing that they use a personal evaluation of situation. The gilded infusion is not broken or useless after the removal of dungeon boss (read COF) gold drops. It’s just no longer useful for abusing this niche.
Considering the infusion will keep on boosting all monster gold drops, it will keep on working as intended and there no reason at all to refund the purchase.
For those who only recently bought it, it’s still better than nothing.
Expectations.
Yours differ from mine.
That is all.
Very unlikely that they will be ordered by Caudecus. The Queen and her entourage know he is after her fall from grace. They’re not that stupid to surround the queen with his machinations.
If anything these things must have been made by someone in whom they trust a whole lot.
Totally pointless. Isn’t that the shiningblade’s duty?
Exactly, which brings the question as to why she is replacing them. Also, is she replacing the Shining Blade, or are they thus otherwise occupied with the clockwork sentinels being a temporary solution for her safety? If so, what are they doing then?
Again pink weapons? The mists weapons weren’t enough? Really ANet, stop doing pink things.
Someone is insecure in his manhood
It’s not new. I remember it being examined a while ago on another fan forum. In the end, there was no way to even interact with her even if you manage to get to her before she disappeared. It’s still a mystery for all I know, only it’s a mystery with no answer to be found as of yet.
She comes in with a grand illusion, making hundreds of copies of herself, which in turn makes all the clockwork guards short circuit so they run off all around Kryta to look for the Queen, attacking anything in their way.
Sounds plausible?
You’re both missing the point. The gilded infusion wasn’t made to boost dungeon boss drops, it was made boost gold drops everywhere. This thing will still work as intended.
This is nothing more than player entitlement. “I can’t abuse this as much any more so you have to pay me back the costs.”
Your point is moot. Although you might think the infusion is now useless, gold does drop from all sorts of enemies in PVE.
The gain you’re going to get out of it will be significantly lower than you intended, but that doesn’t mean the infusion is now useless. It’s useless in your opinion.
No you’re not entitled to a refund.
Or as the laboratory by itself proves that some of the pockets in the Mists are in fact habitable, when stable, the whole Fractal could have been a colonisation project.
It would be a fairly safe place to be when you stabilise the Fractal after all, much like how the Mursaat fazed out of Tyria.
Which brings me to believe the whole project, funded by the Consortium (tie with Dessa) was completed to a certain degree (and thus the city itself is not originally part of the Fractal) before something happened at the laboratory and/or fractal which caused mass death and probably scambled the coordinates of the place making them unable to be extracted. Dessa may or may not have been project leader at this point. Probably she lost her boyfriend in said process.
It would explain her shock, but not why she is secretive about it. However, if you include Council and Arcane Eye orders, which by themselves are pretty threatening, she might just not be allowed to even mention the whole failure.
“What happens in the Mists, stays in the Mists”
Actually, does Dessa at any point explain the actual purpose of the facility? Exploring the Mists is all fine and dandy, but to what end did someone fund this project?
The fact that she mentions in her dialogue that the Fractals must be pacified/stabilised or they might collapse implies this has happened before. However we have no idea what that would do to something/someone that is not part of the original Fractal.
Play Prophecies where it’s outright apparent you can solo every mission there, even the kitten y Ascalonian npc’s can hold their own against them. The Charr were retconned dude…we’ve been over this.
That’s a pretty poor arguement. By your reasoning the fact that my Charr in GW2 can stand up to an entire separist base flooding over her means that Charr are incredibly superior to humans.
The Charr are born for battle and are naturally equiped with the killing tools. Saying they are inferior to Ascalonian soldiers because of game mechanics is silly.
GW2 Charr are physically superior to everyone else though, they could tear anyone apart. But that’s not how they used to be. :/
I truly don’t understand how you come to this conclusion. Are you implying Charr physiology changed so drastically over the last 250 years? They were giant hulking cats with razorsharp claws then, and they are much of the same now.
Read Sea of Sorrows or Ghosts of Ascalon where it’s outright stated that one charr is worth the fighting strength of seven humans (roughly on my memory). The charr strength wasn’t just in their numbers, but their fighting prowess too.

Oh and my ideas are better received by the community, just not the small crowd of GW2 lore junkies so much. Although I have gotten a few messages from others thanking me for standing up to you back when I posted a lot more. You shouldn’t bully so much Konig, it’s bad for the soul.
Oh is this a popularity contest now? An ego like that can probably stand up against at least 7 Charr.
What happens if its a draw? Do we get both sets of rewards?
Then they fight to the death, and considering the recent short stories Evon has one up on Ellen.
…Go do XXX content, get a “You completed XXX, congratulations!” …
my girlfriend never says: congratulations when we complete xxx content
Sounds to me like you’re getting bronze, maybe even silver, but haven’t quite reached gold on that event yet.
It’s a pirate election.
Because that suddenly makes is sensible…still seems silly pirate or no pirate. if anything I’d very a pirate election as a fight to the death.
You should take my answer with a hefty dose of sarcasm.
By the same reasoning that could be the Molten facility and Aetherblade base. All three get released simultaneously.
The royal architects are taking their time building the Royal Terrace, royally.
If it is anything remarkable, they might turn it into an every 10 levels boss fractal, with a special loot table. That’s as good as you’re going to get in the best of circumstances.
I think it’s very nice of you to share your opinion with all of us.
“Moving on.”
+% boon duration or +% condition duration seem obvious candidates for replacing MF.
Well, it was a good effort Malafide, but unfortunately your topic only enforced the generally attitude for Fractals to me, ensuring that I feel even less enticed to actually join any PUG team there.
Sorry I don’t have any ambitions to reach lv48 there, nor do I feel it should be the norm by which I’m measured.
It’s a pirate election.
Because that suddenly makes is sensible…
They could be related in one way or another I suppose. At the present I believe the name and functionality is just a wink to the Gw1 veterans.
However, if they ever add the Mursaat back into the game, and you need infusion like in Fractals to deal with them, then it would be the ideal moment to expand on the Mursaat. It wouldn’t be so hard to explain that the Mursaat learned their Spectral Agony from the ‘dimension’ they can ‘shift into’. Sounds pretty Fractal-ish to begin with anyway…
Nicely focussing on the ‘Evil’ Abaddon did, however, it’s said Abaddon was the wisest of the bunch and the other five often looked to him for advice or guidance. In fact if you read the extra lore, he seems holier than Dwayna in his days.
If we’re going to go on a wild speculation hunt anyway, I’m going to throw in “No Abaddon = no humans in Tyria”. After all, who is to say Abaddon didn’t have a vital role in that project?
$50 & Some gold = 4500 Gems
4500 Gems = 50 BL Keys
50 BL Keys = 50 Chests Opened
Results:
1 Claim Ticket
13 Claim Ticket Scraps
22 Support Reminder bags
0 BL KeysYou’ve effectively put me off purchasing anything from your gem store for a good while, Until I decide you guys have stopped treating us like stupid cattle.
Regards,
Formerly Paying Customer.
Well done, you’ve earned above average rewards!
It’s counter-intuitive actually. Scraps are supposed to be the consolation prize, however, as it stands you have to be lucky to even get the consolation prize.
So it’s no longer a certain consolation, but an uncommon consolidation prize.
False assumptions.
It depends on whether or not the reduced key cost will be a great enough stimulation to buy at least as many more keys as the reduction costs. E.g. if it’s 50% reduction they need to sell at least double the amount of keys.
Considering the appeal of the chests is already high due to the tickets and considering the initial burst will die off before the actual election and thus reduction, it might very well be that they could lose money by Evon winning.
On a related note, “Thank you for the great backpacks”
or well “At least thank you for the Zephyr Rucksack!”
Words can’t express how happy I am they made this apparently bland looking rucksack which fits so perfectly into my Norn ranger theme, bird in training included. The fact that it fails to be appreciated by the majority of the players and is thus both cheap and rarely seen is just too good.
I applaud your introduction of visually unappealing rewards which can shine gloriously when styled around!
And no, I was not sarcastic.
Well Faeros does sound rather male because of the -os, but it’s not too explicit and I wouldn’t find it worth the gems to rename.
On a side note, Asura names are generally very short with the male names heavy on consonants and the females heavy on vowels.
What did I do? :<
I still don’t get why Gnashblade is selling Kiel support banners in his business…
Because he uses the money you spend on it to buy his own support. Everything you buy to support Kiel is a stealth vote for Evon.
to all the morons who say nobody would spend money on this….there is a picture on this exact forum of somebody with 21 thousand evon tokens………feel silly now dont u
Why yes, a picture which was clearly fotoshopped as the total used inventory space didn’t compute with the amount of token stacks shown.
Feel silly now dont u
Without any vague indication on how the votes are so far distributed, who would spend a single copper on this? If they really want to make the money flow, show us how well both are doing (indicative) so the losing or winning parties can fork out the cash to enlarge/close the gap between them.
