You guys never used that trait before hot and was doing fine vs condi people. I know because I played water/air or fire/arcane and that was enough. Was it only the reaper chill and rev viper? Some of us have very poor condi cleansers but we had to deal with them with out a ^90% passive trait that made you break most condi builds with out even trying.

lets not forget though guys. even with the dagger AA buff, sword relyed on AA far more then dagger does.
I had a little play in pve with dagger and staff and i did not notice a massive change in dps wise.

Tbh, after all of there’s years you should of dealt with it by now. Nothing can and will be done about it although the only channel skill that does end on stealth is rev sword UA.

Archers are a pain. Few times I have been in a game where people were fighting over mist champion spawns and or, supply and forget about the archers, 2 killed all guards and 1 bomber was left to take down the gates.
The issue is the people Lord rushing in the 2 minutes, and removing supplys on start would just delay that for an extra 20 seconds or so. Can have ri buff on npcs like in wvw camp and tower lords at the start of the game.

I find the trait to be more passive garbage that will likely cause thieves to be very OP in the upcoming meta. They can already dodge more than a rev (which is really saying something) so do they really need more evade frames?? Bunker teef inc.

You play vanilla d/p cynz so it is difficult for you. After a year playing s/d and now with daredevil staff I find it no issues with being revealed. If I am in trouble I will just short bow 5 away, high lvl if possible and ranged them for a bit.
Engi would make sence I mean they “could build a device” to reveal in pheaory, but rev? I don’t understand that 1

Why is it that people keep picking on thives. We can’t really do much vs anyone compitent because they can just drop aoes and we are half dead before can even use a dodge. The buff to thief is very over rated the only thing that is worth to worry about is the rise of s/d again but no 1 can see how effective the 30% attack speed will be.
Dash is our version of protection, reduce ours then reduce yours too.

They did try to make d/d useable by shifting the evades from end to front – the deathblossom spam fest took of from there. Ofc people who wanted to play power was left out.

Made a thread once or twice about this in the past. On gw1 it was a must have, playing healing signet warrior in pvp and gvg – having cancel action saved my kitten so many times.

“Heavy dmg buff” ? Most of our sustained dps came from fire and air sigils anyway. Only sword needed to be looked at anyway.

Is that everyone’s excuse, if the thief beats class x then they must of been bad? Or may be the thief was just better and not rushing in. In pvp 9/10 fights I fail (not get killed) but because I couldn’t down them fast enough before my or their ally shows up.
On topic. Tempests can be killed
Scrappers I tend to ignore, same with DH

“Red is dead” people sound like they are from the #1 button hero’s from a zerg that get ganked by roamers and can only seek revenge by interupting duals. Sad really.
Also the comments about going to os/gvg, try roaming for once and actually enjoy the fights you get into. You might even start to respect them too. WVW is dying so leave people to play how they like, it’s not as if winning a dual means they won the tower/keep … ok maybe a camp – whoopy do!

So its ok For a lot of you guys to turn obese with the amount of boons you get pretty much at will(Ele/engie/rev) but how dare you get some form of counter play for it. I don’t think the aa is going to be that strong after the first week or so.

Mesmers got them self’s nerfed because they took the kitten and everyone pretty much played the bunker spec, and they over played it too.
I dunno if the high end people are to blame because I understand winning is winning but people who wanted this to stay shouldn’t of milked it to death like the other op stuff.

anyway, the only real thing they can do is buff #3 because making buff’s to /d would mean buffing s/d and p/d which both still better then d/d. it is really hard to think of anything to help d/d in the weapon set, ad again buffing certain traits will again buff p/d and s/d. s/d is already getting a nice buff and we don’t want it too powerful for the sake of doing buff d/d. both weapons are really good alone but kinda crap together, just like p/p. ofc they both have their gimmic styles, unload spam or deathblossom spam.

Dagger main hand needed to be ignored. Nothing was wrong with it. Sword needed love, not had too much issues with staff. So I dunno why they buffed dagger dps.

thief main. I am not sure why they gave aa dmg buff to staff and dagger, they were both solid, i mean kitten . dagger has endurance gain and poison on it, staff has reflect (not a reliable 1 but still) the sword buff was needed very much after they gutted acro line (fluid strike’s and PoI) and how clunky it was to over ride AA with other skill’s because it just “lags” for half a second before the next attack happens, example, AA warrior, he uses evis. i us flanking strike – it bugs out/lags for half a second and evis hits me then flanking strike triggers. (avg ping of 30)
the only class i enjoyed fighting in pvp was a mesmer because it can end very fast on both sides if someone screws up. the Chrono bunker is anoying, but all bunkers are. they already nerfed WoP to be invul so points decap why nerf it even hard to agis when a thief can just run venom share and pop BS, that makes no sense to me.
I hope they stick to their words and say this is just a preview and that they will take into consideration of feedback, I dont want to see mesmers totally destroyed again, thieves counter them anyway because we are the only class to keep up with you (rev can i guess too) but they cant play mind games like a thief or mesmer does.

its called a bond, not being stupid. i have several bonds, 1 irl, my 12 year old sister (my dog) past away 4 years ago, i hurt sometimes now as i did when she passed away on that day. I know i went OTT on this subject but a bond is a bond, jana likes/loves d/d so much even though it is dead she still plays and hopes it comes back.

Having a bond with a DOG is alot different than refusing to using a different weaponset because it is your favorite. one is a living creature and the other is something you liked to use and only still use because you’re ignorant!

i dont thnk so. you’re a full if you think relying on vualt/bound spam will work. I see a lot of thieves fail at this in pvp ( i know its not pve) all the time you mindlessly spam you are wasting recourse’s for an escape root if something kitten goes wrong (initiative and endurance). great if you can kill them in time but i dont think thats the kind of approach staff was meant for :p

that’s not true. i mean sure, can kite with d/p and then use shadow shot but then again if you are going to kite then you are not attacking so it shouldn’t matter what weapon set you play. when i use to play d/d i did kite, but i also used dancing dagger too.. at least i could hit at range.
todays age of gw2, I dont thik it is worth chancing with d/d, people are just too switched on and know what to do. 3 years of gw2 wisdom, relying on cnD and back stab just won;t cut it now. weapon sets with utialty (d/p staff) are the way to go and even they struggle. you know this i know and i know you hate me for saying this. I miss my warrior from gw1 and i know i can never go back to it.

Both sets with the same weapon on each hand are pretty weak compared to 2 different weapons. I can’t defend nor disagree with this as I have no interest in either of them. I only play staff or d/p or on the odd occasion yolo s/d and short bow is just too good to give up.
I would like to see some love for power d/d but what can it realy compete with? Back stab is nice dmg, aa is nice dmg with poison and Hs is, well… I don’t think d/d was really designed in a way that we would of liked it to of been. It’s more of a hybrid weapon but again, why? Other classes can do that far better anyway.
