I seriously wonder if there are people with more than one legendary. You’d simply either have to buy from gold sellers or literally farm the “end-game”. It just seems so unfeasible to do it any other way.

Not necessarily accusing but like Firegoth even said, he made his cash early in the game which couldn’t be done today. Alot of the people tho tha have multiple legendaries tho did get the precursors from exploits or shady deals.

I must correct your statement, I made the right choices through my gameplay at the early low end market, that is true.
But I did not buy any precursors or made heavy profit from it directly.

I farmed my commander title on first week past release, farmed, that’s right.
I got a knack to understand how things work, and earning fast gold is among these things. But I’m also very diligent, which lead me to where I am in the game today.

So I did not take the easy way at any point in the game.
Had to make that clear.

P.S
Right now I’m buying a precursor for its current value, I point this out to show you that when I got a goal, I don’t care how high the bar is set. I’ll get it done.

Legendaries- What remains to be updated

Juggernaut could be improved.

Pretty much, it could use a weapon trail or maybe they could work on the chromatic effect so it looks better in dungeons, I like the chromatic in some areas though.

Maybe better footsteps? The current ones are so small compared to the greatswords.
And chromatic effect should always stay when the weapon is equipped. My armor looks like kitten compared to when chrome effect is added.

Footsteps are one of the smallest despite being covered in our quicksilver, you’d think we’d make giant messy puddles everywhere we go….. there’s a bug I’ve been able to do where the juggernaut will make a “weapon trail” while I run. http://i.imgur.com/iyerJi9.jpg < that’s what I wanna see and not just cause it’s bugged

+1 to this idea, I know what you’re talking about, and it’s pretty neat.

I’m making the dreamer right now only thanks to the new ridiculous effects, so would be very disappointed if they get reverted or downscaled!

And everyone else pretty much pointed the same necessary updates, mostly the underwhelming 1h weapons, bolt and Quip aside. Their effects aren’t visible enough, and can hardly be told for legendaries to normal weapons.

Yeah, which server are you on? I can’t go to a zone without running into a fair number of other people. All of the starter zones on my server are very highly populated. Even “unpopular” zones like Lornar’s Pass or Fields of Ruin have pretty constant interaction with other players and semi-active map chat.

I’m from JQ which is one of the if not the most populated server.

JQ if I’m not mistaken is mainly a pvp oriented server?

Most DE’s outside of Cursed shore are for karma and exp only.

If you want to make some gold, there are other ways to do it, and if you insist on DE’s – do Penitent / Shelter / Plinx.

Unfortunately there will be several smaller, casual guilds who will complain that the larger scale content is too difficult. Just wait!

They got no room for any complains.

A small guild is just as good as a party of 5 people doing an event.
Anet’s goal is to increase guild sizes and create notoriety in the server, rather than people sticking to the small guilds. And so – increasing in size.

But I did take advantage of the low end market on release to get to where I am today. (not high end mats wise, like I said, I do not relist items on the TP)
I can guarantee that a new account will not be able to achieve what I achieved today, thanks to smart choices I made through my playtime.

Own 3, very soon 4.
How many I plan to make though? who knows, I craft them on a whim.

I already made a topic before how long it took me to get the 3rd one, which is probably less time than the haters /age.
Got a wife, a proper job, I play whenever I feel like it, I simply enjoy accomplishing goals I set for myself, and know how to properly manage my time, rather than waste it killing mobs or farming dungeons.
I got nothing to hide, but I don’t own anyone answers on what I do and how I play.

Lately I’ve been doing all kind of things in game, and couldn’t but wonder how 90% of the people I group up with suck at this game. They’re so bad that I’m not even surprised anymore how everyone come to these forums to complain about everything to be handed to them.

My whole team wiped at Old Tom, I had to solo him from 40% with my engi.
Same with Raving asura, only me and another member left to kill the last 3 golems, him eventually downed and I’m left to clear the place out.

But yes, I have seen some terrible engi’s who walk around with a flamethrower and elixir gun only for dmg purposes. I was shocked and horrified.

Also, I cannot understand how engi’s are bad in any sense? well at least a good engi will make sure to carry Sigil of frailty, lifesteal food and some good crit.
Spam those 25 vuln stacks (10 on champs and legend), and add another 10~25% dmg to the whole team. Would NOT call that useless.

That was a month ago. In terms of a game that is on the market for about 5 months, that’s like a decade.

Right, a month ago, we knew it wasn’t on track for the Jan / Feb / March patches.

So…. why do we expect continual updates saying ’It’s still not happening in Jan / Feb / March…’

And in the lifespan of an MMO, a month is a short time compared to the total life cycle of the game’s live support and content updates.

The lifespan of an MMO is ultimately decided by the players not the developers.

If the developers ignore the issues that players are concerned about in favour of their own ideas then they might find out that 5 months isn’t actually all that early in the lifecycle after all.

GW2 is shedding players – in my guild 80% of its members have already moved on to other games and with Eldar Scrolls coming out soon that will only increase.

Talking to those who have moved on their reasons are a combination of boredom and frustration; boredom with the repetitive nature of the end game content, and frustration with ArenaNets blatant reversal of almost every one of the design principals they promised us before release.

In short, ArenaNet might find out soon enough that 5 months was not “early days” but in fact about half way through the lifespan of GW2.

Totally agree!
But then again, see you in next expansion!

Naekuh.7925 –
Copied from another post I made

Allow me to break the completely logical reasoning behind the prices spikes -
Dusk of rage – 66g. Release month, precursors flood the market due to god skulls exploit.
Dusk – 200g. Expolit fixed, people start working towards the weapon.
Dusk – 400g, after people start realizing how desired these weapons are, they buy them in large quantities to resist them for more later, speculating on their true market value.
Dusk – 600g, legendaries are allowed to be sold on TP.
What I’m getting at, is that the prices will remain static unless we’ll get further improvement to them, such as the dreamer’s new effect that caused the price of the lover to spike.

Surferboy.1649 –
I worked from 0 to nearly the full amount for my 4th legendary, so no.
If you can’t get a legendary on your own with current prices – you can only blame yourself.

Downed state has too much impact

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Firegoth.6427

You’re talking from a point of view of what other games when you die, you simply die and have to respawn.

GW2 does things differently, and in GW2 there is downed state which is integrated as part of the difficulty of the game in both PvE and PvP.
It is something you must adapt yourself to.

The devs do not want you to single out players in a zerg so easily, or want to turn PvE into a chore where you have to keep respawning. Let’s admit it – it’s not fun.

Nope, sorry, both of your arguments don’t hold.

When I started Aion (Release) and wanted to get my Fenris armor later on, boiling blood was cheap and available to anyone who rushed the game. But I wanted to enjoy the content first, so I ended up hitting max lvl slower than the hardcores.
Result? giving up on the idea of even farming the item due to the availability only through a world pvp area.

Conclusion? rip your fruits early or suffer the consequences. In our case – precursors hitting their actual worth in the game, and not a bloody pathetic 300g.

Edit:
Mind you, I currently work my way towards another legendary in its current price.
No complains, this is what I must deal with if I want one.

Also one more thing, if we get a 100% sure-way of obtaining a precursor.
Well, good job screwing it over for anyone else who doesn’t want one, with spiking all T6 mats, lodestones and ectos.

As far as I’m concerned, those who complain about precursors are people who want stuff handed to them and refuse to commit the time to get one. It also includes people who decide to gamble and then complain when things don’t go their way.

Faulty logic. I have completed Twilight, Sunrise, Predator, and Bolt. And I still think the current method of obtaining precursors is utter garbage.

I have no desire or plans to create any more even though I can currently afford to buy all the materials and precursors for at least three more.

“I support the cause! yay for precursor prices nerf!!! by the way, I’m super rich.”

I totally support the current prices, I can’t afford another 5 legendaries, since I work towards them one by one whenever I get the legendary bug again, but can easily make any legendary in less than a month if I put myself into it. With minimum effort compared to any TP tycoon out there. (OH YEAHHHHH BRAGGING FEELS GOOD)

so stop complaining everyone.
These are the current prices, don’t like it? don’t buy it!
Someone mentioned something about people with 3+ legendaries are the outside the 90% who can’t afford that much.
That’s exactly the point, we who got a goal and know how to manage our time and set fun aside and gold earning aside – deserve by all means what we work for.

You want to jerk around cursed shore and farm dungeons with your friends for legendary? well too bad, keep farming.

It is a legendary task, without an ounce of fun in it (Gift of mastery aside).

Me? I keep enjoying setting myself new goals, and I’m far from completing them.
But either way, if I felt I was suffering at any point I’d simply stand up and walk away from this game. Why should anyone even need to wonder about what to do next? or even start a discussion about it?

So what’s the logic behind the roughly 150g increase in price for Zap? Did it get a visual update or did the prices for mats change? And how come, if this increase is due to price fluctuation, the price and amount of available Zap have been stable before and after the price-increase?
What you’re saying is probably true for most cases, I just dont see how it’s true for this particular incident.

Zap is “merely” 419g atm.
It stands nearly at same level as the 2h weapons rarity, yet still cheaper than them.

It is a reasonable price to pay considering how much its brothers cost and how popular bolt is.

Well yea, I never claimed otherwise. And it was not ever something I discussed.

Just saying, there was a huge price spike on the precursor for visually unchanged Bolt, and it happened at a suspiciously fast pace in a fairly “stagnant” market. Maybe 7-10 people managed to save up enough to buy out the TP’s supply of Zaps in one evening, but my bet would be on one or two manipulators. Kudos to them anyway.

What I actually meant to say is that someone worked out that Zap’s true market value is more than what it was listed.
And he was “right” to conclude so.

Manipulated? yes, to some extent, but I would have to agree that due to the points I stated the current value sounds more than reasonable.

If Zap cost 200g (or any other highly popular precursor), we’d have no precursors left on the market. It really feels only natural for people to sell / relist them for higher price considering the legendaries popularity.

There are currently 14 dusks listed on TP.
5023 people on demand for 500~600g offers for top 14.

They are WILLING to pay that much, so if all of them get what they wish for, how many dusks are going to be left?
You do the math.

You all want a skill based method or a scavenger hunt of some sort to get a precursor, but what if I told you it would be just as long, tedious and hard as making 660g?
That you would have to go through same equivalent lengths to get it?

There will always be complains, no matter what – this situation right now is best for everyone.

And you prolly believe everything posted on the internet is the truth to don’t you? People and gold sellers/TP players whatever you wanna call em, aren’t stupid. They will list the precursor or any item for X amount and then put up a buy order for 2,3 or however many of that item for alittle under their list price to give the illusion that people are willing to spend that much. That’s not to say some people out there aren’t but i’ll guarantee you, the majority of the people aren’t.

What’s even funnier is watch the TP and precursors awhile. You will see alot of certain ones listed at X amount for a week or so. Then they all dry up and then a few days later BAM, there will be like 5 or 6 listed at about 100g+ higher. Coincidence? Did 6 people just get lucky and all try and sell their precursor at the same time? Did everyone all of a sudden come into 600g+ and buy out the TP of supplies? No, it’s the TP players bumping up precursors 1 more notch. Believe me or not, i personally don’t care but i will say in 2 months if nothing is done about precursors, they will be over 1k for the big 3(Dusk, Dawn, The Legend).

I also watch the market as I play (special thanks to zicore!) and I can tell you that the precursors are sold maybe 1 a day. And trade orders remain the same. (currently actively watching one as I play every day).
Allow me to break the completely logical reasoning behind the prices spikes -
Dusk of rage – 66g. Release month, precursors flood the market due to god skulls exploit.
Dusk – 200g. Expolit fixed, people start working towards the weapon.
Dusk – 400g, after people start realizing how desired these weapons are, they buy them in large quantities to resist them for more later.
Dusk – 600g, legendaries are allowed to be sold on TP.

What I’m getting at, is that the prices will remain static unless we’ll get further improvement to them, such as the dreamer’s new effect that caused the price of the lover to spike.

I was more taken by telling me they love me.
No one told me that in years.

Source?

Otherwise this is just conjecture.

Emphasis on “IF”.
Imagine the situation in your head, and then answer.
