First only the daily / monthly (starting Feb) will count.
Then the unrepeatable ones will add up Laurels as well later on according to Anet.
Which means if someone thought that one day he’ll be rewarded for 20k achievement points through salvaging, at the end of the day he made sure to be the laughing-stock of GW2
Still waiting on my 10g, nothing comes up in mail.
Scam?
Dear god, quaggan backpack….
I better stock up on gems for the other items before it’s too late.
How much gameplay do you expect out of a single game? This is an honest question and one that doesn’t seemed to be asked too often.
Do you want 500 hrs? 600? 1000+? What is realistic for you and what you think a company can (and should) supply for your investment?
There are a lot of people saying there is not enough content for the long run, but that determination seems to be after hundreds (if not thousand) of hours of play. Shouldn’t we discuss our expectations before we start saying that Anet is not living up to what we want?
Or do we just expect that there should be unlimited amount of content to continue to provide entertainment for as long as we want (or can) play?
+1 Seriously, how come more people don’t realize this..
+1, well said. The topic could just be called “Typical Day of <Random MMO>” as well.
+1
Not sure what how long OP expected the game to entertain him.
There are so many games out there for you to play until further content update.
Works for me, I’m done farming ori and this results in other tied-in-price items rising instead.
Just waiting for the bubble to burst and in the meantime ripping the fruits
If I was an investor I’d definitely buy stacks of oris at this point, it will go up and even up to 3s once new gear is presented.
Quetion is, how patient are you?
When they’ll run out of ideas how to milk out the community, be prepared for the “low tier” legendaries boost in cosmetic look.
Everyone will go after the minstrel once it starts showing big notes flying all over the place with a different melody per skill used.
Everyone will go after the dreamer when it’ll leave a motion blur effect when you walk.
And so on…
It actually works for Anet’s best interest to boost these items.
So go ahead and complain about them since you can’t get one, but when they’ll get buffed then we’ll see you talk again
I like how you blanked out your character name, but anyone can follow or whisper you based on your forum name.
Unless…
You have more than one account.
In which case, you probably bought that will money instead of earning it with sweat and blood and a pure heart like everyone else here.
Did you read the whole thread first? I posted screens of the moment I crafted them.
Revan.6259 – Thank you and for anyone else on their congrats as well
I do not plan to make any further legendaries, as matter of fact I’ve been too focused on GW2 since release (for me 3h a day is too focused, since I do have commitments in life as well).
So I’ll be mostly chilling and doing fractals whenever I can for the shiny capacitor.
But… if I do happen to get an extremely lucky drop, I might consider going for a 4th.
I was planning on doing a daily MF lottery, throwing each day 4 rare GS and see what I get.
Just for fun

In my experience it costed me about 10g to level artificing to 400. I don’t want to have to do that on another toon because then leveling my original artificer was all for nothing. Wish there was some way Anet could transfer the recipe from my elementalist to my mesmer.
10g to lvl artificer to 400?
What in the world did you craft?
I’d rather they not be sellable.
That said, it doesn’t really matter that much. It’s more expensive to buy one than make it yourself, it’s just a matter of whether you’d rather pay extra by buying it on the TP, or save x hundreds of gold by making it yourself but needing the tokens, karma, skill points etc.
For most, buying would likely only be preferable for those on their 3rd, 4th etc legendary where they might not have racked up all the karma/skill points etc to do it yet again.
Unless a jackpot precursor falls on me from the sky, my 4th one might be in 2014.
I’m totally burnt out on that section.
Guardian is like the Dervish of GW1.
Always a buff, never a nerf.Man I loved that class.
What are you smoking, guardian has only been recieving nerfs and no buffs.
If they even think of touching our greatsword/hammer skills im quitting the class, and there isnt another class I enjoy
What did they nerf? the GS switch between symbol and leap?
I can’t recall how anything we got, been significantly nerfed to the point of “omg”.
Personally, I play all classes, they all got their appeal as long as they have viable builds, and right now I play guardian, thief, warrior and engineer.
Anet going to buff other classes and nerf guarding? go for it, will just switch around.
How is this different from GW1 where obsidian was bought with ectos and obsidian, both of which were readily available from the traders?
Obsidian armor didn’t require gift of mastery.
Let’s face something here – the only people who will be willing to pay a legendary’s 1.5 ~ 2x the price are people who bought gold either from Anet or black market, simply because they can, and to avoid the only part of the weapon that actually requires a mastery of the game to some extent.
Putting gold aside, they are pretty much spitting in anyone’s face who worked hard towards his badges, skill points, 100% world completion and karma gain.
This also resulted all the precursor spiking in prices once again thanks to players making large profits off them. Creating an even larger gap between the dedicated vs the “wise” players.
And just in case you might think I’m some kind of poor beggar complaining, I’d like to direct you to my thread here:

Have a great day.
It made many people lose faith in the company.
Whatever that fella’s name from Nexon that’s running the show, he made a clear stand where he’s taking this business model with the legendaries decision.
Such a shame too, well no wonder the company got sold to the creators of Maple Story.
Prepare, this is just the beginning unless Anet start to treat their dedicated players with more respect and less like a bunch of idiots.
kiba.2768 – Please try to keep it to a minimum of one screenshot.
We don’t want to turn this great thread into an kitten show.
Please don’t take it as personal offense, only to understand the real purpose of this thread.
Your post belongs more to this thread imo:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/guardian/Post-a-Screenshot-of-your-Guardian/first
And if you ask me, the first pic is the most unique of the bunch
33g a day isn’t that hard guys, but it turns the game into a job, which I had enough.
So only running fractals now for shiny capacitor.
But I’m very curious myself how can one get 1m karma simply by playing 3h a week + a few on weekend?
He either bought the weapon as whole off the TP or had some massive boosts piled up.
But yeah, 33g a day is very doable…
I know its the Jugg’s effect. Didn’t know the dye combo
Thanks for the info man!
p.s. Awesome pics
Many thanks
Twilight is epic, but I think you should find a background / scenario that will flatter the character you worked so hard on to look good.
I was moved by by these Screenshots in this thread, for example:

Most are joke names such as Ledengery Miskate and Harry the botter, I like to be remembered and put up a smile if I can
Honor swiftclaw, Tylor hailstorm,Darksoul Arthur and their buddies just don’t cut it for me.
ShaiHulud.7410 – All armor pieces color schemes are Sapphire (top square), Blue Sky (Left square) and Celestial (Right square)
But you won’t be able to achieve it without The Juggernaut’s effect, and depending on which map and area you’re on.
Wow! I love what you guys posted! keep ’em coming!
This should be made a sticky
Here’s mine – I was messing around trying to capture a cool moment, and came up with this:
Sorry dude, but that pistol…. that pistol…
Was the best thing I ever crafted in this game, it should’ve been the first legendary I crafted.
I can’t get enough of it, worth, every, copper.
The real losers are the Warhorn, focus and torch (“ok” design for a legendary, but no big enough).
The kitten ones are The dreamer, Frostfang, Meteorologicus and The predator.
They could’ve been done better.
Underwater weapons are for TP playas only, since you only make them either if you’re a complete idiot or got too much gold in your bank to know what to do with.
Well I guess that speculation also goes out of the window.
Also you can look up several posts of mine from a month or so ago, I’m highly against playing the TP.
Anet can be my guest and check my account, I wouldn’t make this thread if I had something to hideBut I also don’t owe anyone answers, just the joy of reading what you have to say ^_~
no, you don’t, but I’m still highly curious as to how you got the mystic coins necessary for those legendaries. could you please divulge your secret, if you did not buy them off the TP?
I’ve mislead with my “stay away from TP like fire” post.
My apologies – I meant that I don’t terrorize the poor citizens of Tyria only through creating a false supply/demand.
I did buy 90% of the items I needed off the TP through farming other more worthwhile items. Which makes it pretty much the same.
I also don’t believe like many others that it is possible to get all these items on your own, because you simply can’t in such short time.
As for the Zhaitan comment – I know, shocking isn’t it?
I actually did finish the story mode, but before I got to that part of the story quest, which makes me one of the first people to finish Arah Story. Yet I haven’t cleared a single Arah explorable simply because I was too busy focusing on the legendaries.
Well I guess that speculation also goes out of the window.

I stay away from the TP like fire, only to sell my junk
Closest race to human size and shape that doesn’t look like one.
+1 for me.
I find full spirit weapon build great in sPvP, but in PvE you’d rather take shouts like “Save yourselves”, “Retreat”, “Stand your ground” and other utils like Purging flames or Wall of reflection.
I do advice to take Shield of Judgment now and then, and especially on dungeons heavily infested with ranged mobs
Guardian is like the Dervish of GW1.
Always a buff, never a nerf.
Man I loved that class.
This game has become impossible for potentially dedicated new players.
I personally will milk whatever fun I can still get out of it.
Omg please stop correcting me, I totally forgot about the guesting and that post was made before they announced how it’ll work anyway so gimme a break.
On topic: is Darkhaven still uncontested, or any other servers are?
Much appreciated.
This thread will soon become useless with paid transfers…
Why are weapons reduced to nonexistent size?
I have to buy a new slot and remake a larger race to actually show the weapon I’m wielding :/
Why such tiny scaling?
“please MMO industry, stop forgetting your nerds.”
I’d like to hear from OP a good example for an MMO that made him feel different and delivered his needs and why, also why doesn’t he play it anymore.
I seriously recommend single players by the way, I don’t think you’re cut for this game.
Vesper you seemed to ignore half my post (edit: and ignored most of KensaiZen’s as well), and pretty much set hard on warrior’s DPS.
Also not sure why you said being a tank in WvW is good for Guardian? maybe elaborate a bit on that.
Along with how Guardians can’t handle a zerg of mobs?
Are we playing the same class?
@Archer
Warrior’s have defenses that last seconds. Guardians have plenty more defenses tribute, the class that can provide protection the easiest, also many regeneration utilities, and not to mention 5 in honour grants vigour on critical hits.
Also if you’re trying to burst as a guardian you’re doing it wrong. Guardians are EXCELLENT are sustained DPS, and outlasting their opponents (Look at how many retaliation up-time they have).
Go play a Warrior and truly experience the class before you theory-craft. It will really help broaden your view on the “favorite” class of Anet
So your plan is to continue healing while doing minimal damage? While your opponent can heal too, and dish out more damage. That makes sense. Oh I have 2 lvl 80 Guardians and a lvl 80 Warrior. In addition I have over 1000 hours played between my 2 guardians and have theory crafted every build possible. A good warrior will beat a good guardian 9 times out of 10. You have to spec into retaliation uptime, and if you plan on playing the boring “retaliation bunker” then I would say go ahead for boring gameplay.
You’re hopeless and probably a troll.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/guardian/WvW-PvE-The-Healway-Guardian/first
Putting this right here.
i don’t follow… cleric guards have awful DPS even compared to the awful DPS of guards in general.
and in PVE warrs don’t even need the defense since they just melt everything. geting mobbed? that’s np, just use 100b and everything in front of you dies. a guard doesn’t even have half the DPS. i’d rather be able to hit a 16k 100b and not have aegis/f2 than have them and hit a 6-7k WW if i’m lucky.
Glad someone agrees that warriors only good for DPS on mobs.
So what are we arguing about?
Or anyone here claims that Guards got better DPS? beacause that is false, but DPS is far from everything you need in this game, unless you only do world PvE.but the thing is you don’t even need the defense. guards can mitigate a few attacks, but are useless vs sustained attacks or multiple enemies. aegis is good for blocking the occaisional incoming big hit or taking slightly less dmg etc… but a party with a few dps warriors doesn’t need to worry about defense because they kill everything before they need to worry.
guards have some useful skills in certain situations but in most dungeons a warrior is better. i see warriors going around 1 shotting the acolytes in CoF path 1. it’s a joke to survive when all you need to do is whirldwind into the acolyte and it dies. or in AC they pull a bunch of breeders and then just 100b them down.
Some points:
- 100 blades is limited to 3 enemies, when mobbed you better gtfo unless you’re on quickness + endure.
- Forget defense for a moment, think about the group:
Hammer provides small AoE protection to the rest of the melee members
- Shields reduce 100% of incoming damage to the whole team.
- Often blast finishers.
- Give might constantly to your whole team.
- Reliable condition removal to the whole team. (Torch mainly, complimented by “Save yourselves” and Purging flames)
- AoE pull, good against those pesky ranged mobs, instead of making the team take them out 1 by 1.
- As warrior, after you blow your first heal, you’re screwed until its cool down since endure pain, even traited is not enough to keep you alive.
Now, I’m not saying warrior is useless because I’d love to run a group with 4 warriors and 1 Guardian, but in terms of team player, Guardian takes the gold medal.
I did see however, many Guardians who consider themselves support only because they could heal everyone for 1k hp every 10 seconds, which was pathetic, lame, and a waste of a party slot.
Glad someone agrees that warriors only good for DPS on mobs.
So what are we arguing about?
Or anyone here claims that Guards got better DPS? beacause that is false, but DPS is far from everything you need in this game, unless you only do world PvE.

2 immobilize, WoR if needed and you’re smoked. Immobilize break? dance around / inside my circle and eat my dps while you turn into a pinball.
OP, you are one of the players that keep getting obliterated in the various youtube glory videos out there.
I don’t even know where to start.
If by telling you that glass cannon got higher surviveability than any warrior.
Or by telling you that we can literally make every dungeon wipe-or-swipe.
Or by how we can completely push a whole zergs with shields, crowd control, and teleport sudden AoE spam combined with all the above.
Warrior? what can he do? High burst of DPS and…….? (I play on my warrior every day, this isn’t from Guardian only point of view)
I’m gonna make a norn thief in clownish look just for this weapon.
Maybe name him Lord Mcsdfahvxz
Oh no, just as I thought, it’s very hard to be able to tell on an Asura if it’s a legendary at all.
Just compared it to other races with Quip, and it’s more noticeable on them.
Biggest problem is that I already got full invader’s on my Asura >.<
argh what to do
Many thanks for the vid!
i can tell you the 10x recipe is also 33% true. or better in my case. people are just afraid to do the 10×. there have been people screwed with the 1x recipe as well. 300+ shards later with 1x and still not at 77. the smaller gamble doesn’t ‘hurt’ as much, but it’s just perception.
There is a much greater sample rate on 1x rather than 10×.
You’ll virtually need 750 shards to for a real 33% chance
Unless the chances on 10x recipe are higher than 1x so you end up with similar results for a stack of shards on each recipe.
If you get the same odds on both recipes, then the risk is much greater on 10x, it is all-or-nothing.
I’ll bet with you that there are much more people who got burnt by the 10x rather than the 1×.
This reminds me of another post from the elementalist forum.
Another poster with wall of text about his amazing abilities creating fake Q/A, dunno maybe he wanted a medal. But he did teach me about using Chuning earth + Lightning flash combo.
I love you big shots players, you pretty much do what many players see as completely casual. (but since you’re so insecure and need someone to massage your ego you make these kind of threads).
I do applaud to you sir, however, for teaching me about the svanir rune trick. +1 like for that.
Dungeons: Knights + Ruby set. Altruistic build.
World PvE: Full Glass cannon. 20/25/20/0/5. Focus on dealing more dmg to burning foes and to foes with conditions (+20% dmg) also add dmg increase by 50% while downed and losing health 33% slower while downed since you’ll be indeed down a lot
WvW: Knights + Ruby set. Same build as World PvE. (can replace 33% with glacial trait)
sPvP: Whatever works for you, as for build I recommend spirit weapons. Works splendid at 1 v 1.
Here’s what I use as a “Burst”, but do note – I only use this at world PvE and wouldn’t dare taking it to dungeons. Maybe just for fun at WvW.
Gear: Glass cannon (Assuming you know how to build one)
1st weapon set: GS (Superior sigil of fire)
2nd weapon set: Hammer (
Use Purging flames utility, then “Save yourselves”, right after – use GS Whirling Wrath (combo adds more burning), followed by Leap of faith (Fire shield combo), and Binding blade (more burning bolts), finish with symbol of wrath and quickly change to hammer and use Mighty blast for 3 might stacks. When done use Judge’s Intervention for additional burning or have bane signet equipped instead for more power.
This is my personal burst on one enemy, while not as fast as my quickness built warrior, it does the job.
Been farming tons of karma on both characters and both make 10k in less than 20 mins.
the rewards seem to be cosmetic only.
I wouldn’t call obsidian shards or gear packs cosmetic.
The RNG only plays big part at the 10x recipe which is your decision really.
Want to gamble? do 10x and don’t complain if you get screwed bad.
Or you can play safe like I did and 231 clovers later, I can tell you that 1x recipe stands true to 30% – 33%.
Anyone got a screen or video of an Asura with the legendary pistol Quip?
I’d really like to give it to my thief, but worried about the smaller scaling of the weapon and its effects.
Tried to google, no go…
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Are all these complains about quip serious??
IT’S A CLOWN GUN!!!!
What more can you ask for to own your enemies while throwing bubbles and confetti in their faces?
