I’ve been playing since Pre and have had 2 very long breaks (6 months and then again 8 months). I had followers I have no idea who they were before I went on the long breaks, now I still have a large follower list and I think I only know 1 of them….it’s creepy.

There appears to be some nice debug messages for party join/leave that I’m going to see if I can turn into “LFG Messages” in the chat log which should make this easier…

Have had a ranger since pre. Currently have 3 80 Rangers. To this day I refuse to use the Sword. I don’t care about the paper dps, I don’t care how many talk about it’s dps, it’s greatness in wvw roaming, pvp, etc. The fact that it is a broken PoS is all I need to keep in mind. Whether you disable auto-attack and force yourself to press 1 and still get into an animation that locks you down or not, you are forced to struggle with using this weapon. To a point, I will debate, puts your DPS lower than on paper. We won’t talk about your lost dodge ability, your awkward movements in order to have auto disabled and try and move around even when the animation still locks you down, etc.

It’s rubbish. Anet has failed on this weapon, they have left it in it’s terrible state for 2 years.

Go ahead, use this PoS and rattle on about it’s paper dps.

With the recent announcements on changes to costs for the commander tags, everyone and their siblings now seem to have them, and they are all enabled.

This has created the worst UI blight of any MMO I have seen. It’s on my minimap, it’s on my map and it’s on my screen. 20-30 Commander Tags at a low level PvE event is just ridiculous. These vanity plates need to be removed, at least from my view and the views of others who find the clutter ridiculous.

1. Graphics Option to only display Commander Tags from my server.
2. Graphics Option to only display Commander Tags from my guild.
3. Graphics Option to display NO Commander tags.

This is about a year and a half overdue, and now it’s necessity is rather obvious.

Twilight Arbor and the cultural are about the only armors worth putting on them. Everything else makes them look……what’s that r word again? ret….something.

I would also like to see a crab pet, especially if it used the model either from GW1 (enhanced of course) or the special encounter one from Mount Maelstrom (I believe, it is a blue crab, not these puff ball brown snail shell things all over).

However I would like for it to have the ONE thing I think is missing most for a Ranger: Boon Stripping.

PBAoE (Point Blank Area of Effect) or very close range (30 units) call it Shell Shock, it does a brief shiver animation as an alert to foes then a quick spin and rips 2-3 boons from all in range.

The vanity plates, as I like to call them, are just about off the charts. I can’t do any maps while levelling without a cluster of 20-30 commander tags at some low level event. You know, like…The Shatterer being a static location and all that seriously requires this massive blue blob cluttering my mini-map, world map and if I am close to it, my view. Cause they needs that coordination!

It’s well past time for the graphics option to disable them from my UI to be incorporated in this game. Been requesting this for over a year and a half now. Now its just PAINFULLY obviously bad.

No point in playing something you don’t like cause when you get rolled its only gonna feel worse.

I could understand some sort of pause feature for actual tournaments, but outside of that, a big NO THANKS. Imposing on 9 peoples time is a bit much IMO.

Yeah the easiest way (As far as I’m aware) to get Tomes of Knowledge was Crown Pavilion, and the experience scroll is when a character turns 1 year old.

I earn them rather frequently in PvP, and I don’t PvP that much.

Working on my 3rd 80 ranger right now. 1st was started within 2 weeks of pre, 2nd just over a year ago and now the new one.

1. No such thing as builds when levelling now. Traits got changed, just stick points in holes that have benefits you find useful (seriously, its that easy).

2. I like to have a Longbow on switch just for those moments where face tanking something like an event boss is a bit much. You can use Axe main if you prefer, or shortbow, I just like LB for the KB, stealth, etc. It’s my Oh kitten tool.

Currently I am levelling my new ranger with Greatsword. Previously I used sword/warhorn. I run a stupidaly simple right side of the skill bar cause….levelling a ranger is stupidly simple. I prefer Troll Ungent cause I can use it when just running through a map with hateballs hitting me. I switch (rarely needed) to healing spring when I need to get my daily done that has Condition Remover. I have never liked heal as one. Water Spirit is something for level 80 to mess with. Sig of Wild, Hunt and Stone. RaO.

I prefer levelling in Zerker stats, Pwr/Precision (bizarre forum censor in there…) until you get all 3 stats around 58 on blues, 60 on greens (I think) or rares. I shove the same stated runes in armor (cheapest possible) and I tend to prefer Air/Fire sigils.

For pets I prefer drakes now while levelling.

It’s more likely his account is bugged, server side. All the resets and such would never, ever be stored on the client side. Far to open to hackable.

These penalties are bad because they are not/can not be implemented properly.

In WoW if you get kicked in BGs or Party through no fault of your own, you have to suck on a penalty you did not deserve to get.

I am sure someone will say “If you got kicked you deserved it” and that just isn’t the case. Just like guilds running content and kicking to replace someone with another guildie. I got kicked once in WoW because the boss we were fighting in a dungeon had a chance to drop an item that only my character and the other caster could use (for transmog), and I was not in their guild. Gone was I, for no reason other than their greed. They could have walked to that instance as a guild and just entered it, but they were lazy and needed to queue for it so they didn’t have to, and I was unlucky enough to get queued with them.

I have turn left bound to Q,A,Z and turn right bound to E,D,C. That way, I don’t need to be very precise when I keyturn.

I have this rather large pressure sensitive single button keypad I put between the back of my head and my chair’s backrest. I find just rolling my head from side to side during those high velocity key turn moments is much more satisfying.

When things get frantic I tend to blackout.

I use mouse buttons for my heal, utilities and elite.

Guess I will never measure up.

I already deleted one toon with karma armor I plugged Perplexity runes into (that is over 60g gone). I have another toon I put the same runes into a set of karma armor, while I am not going to delete her I would like to repurpose the runes (I no longer need/want them).

Not very happy about this situation. It’s not like I am trying to game the system by converting karma into materials I can make money on, I just want the runes I bought myself retrievable.

Thats because DDoS wasn’t as prevalent and widely conducted 10, 8, 6 years ago. The further ahead in time you go, the more prevalent it becomes. More people on the internet, more zombies to harvest, cheaper and more widely available hacks off the shelf that are even easier to use, etc.

Imagine yourself on two lonely islands, starving.

Does it matter that they taste differently? They’re both considered as food, something that you, as a person dying from starvation, need if you want to survive on that island.

So is Guardian’s.

I am not to keen on the whole wvw/commander thing but if I am understanding this post and the links, Anet changed their minds and 1 commander tag can be color swapped at any time, with no need to purchase different colors?

If this is so, it is good to know Anet took the feedback to heart and acted on it.

The only time I have had issues with this game over the last month is the random client crashes while in Sparkfly Fen, Timberline Falls, and the other associated maps.

In this case, I am not alone. It seems everyone on the maps were having the issue as it was a constant discussion in map chat. I assume it is some sound or graphic bug on those maps.

However I keep seeing these “Lag in PvP” threads and I just don’t have it, ever. Now, could it be a bug with graphics or sound and your driver (as in my drivers are different so I don’t have these issues?)? Could be.

This must be more of a EU issue. I don’t experience it in NA.

The monk would greatly trivialize current PvE content, if it was a healer similar to GW1.

I loved my monk. I mained monk in PvE and PvP. However I don’t see them relenting on not bringing this class to GW2.

The other classes exclusive to GW1 can stay there. I played them all and care little for their mechanics OR they already exist in the current GW2 iteration.

At this time it is one model per profession, per gender, per team. I do like the idea of doing some sort of ‘profession archetype’, or a way to visually see if they are a power/toughness/condi/ect spec build. Though I’m not sure what that would look like without adding clutter to the screen.

Archtype Icon attached to Class icon that already exists on target frame.

Examples: Square for Bunker, ^ for Power DPS, > for Condi DPS, etc. Not very good examples, but it should give you the idea.

I don’t think they are doing this because it cost less. Not only do they charge less than armors skin (700 instead of 800 gems) but also those are reusable without transmutation charge. As much as I don’t like outfit, they do come handy when leveling new character, I don’t have to spend charge every time I change armor. Someone talked about a skin and outfit version, that would be perfect.

Yep. This is one of those “We just can’t win” situations the designers find themselves in. If they make outfits, people complain. If they don’t make outfits, people complain.

I am, without a doubt, a cosmetic nerd. I am always addicted to dressing up my toons to be sexy or badas, etc.

I like the outfits, it’s account wide and requires no transmutation stones. However, I agree that it isn’t always ideal. I am guessing it is one way to address the clipping issues with mix and match items.

Usually I don’t have access to blinds unless I am on my thief. I also usually don’t have boon stripping and I rarely play mesmer.

Dodging, yes, while great unless you got some crazy endurance filling/regen, that only lasts … twice…if you didn’t dodge previously.

Really…if I got to meta against one elite, that doesn’t really bode well for the Lich Form balance at all.

The only time I see Lich Form get beaten is when its 3+ vs the lich and all the anti-stability/boon stripping/blinding/knockdown is brought on.

Am I alone in feeling this is the most OP Elite in DPS? By OP, I am comparing it to every other elite I can think of in PvP. I wish other Elites were this good.

Perhaps I am just too new to the pvp scene, perhaps you pvpers can enlighten me about how weak it is. Perhaps you have counters to it when you end up 1v1, kicking the necro’s bottom, and he drops this OP elite and just blasts you in 2-3 shots.

I believe people want to experience and play (and spectate) what GW1’s GvG had. It had objectives. The reason GW2’s current state of imposed GvG is lackluster is………there is no real objective. It’s just street fighting out of boredom.

A few weeks back I was mailing dyes I didn’t need to a random player who was very grateful. I had 180+ unided dyes and after the first few I was suppressed. I hadn’t been putting a title in, so blank title spam got suppressed.

It’s not the best system, their chosen suppression methods, you just have to get around them when you aren’t actually spamming.

I don’t get the complaint. Has happened to me before, if I wasn’t willing to buy the item at the price I paid, even if it went on discount the next day (and it has happened to me), why did I buy it in the first place?
