Just two things that have been on my mind awhile.. short and sweet.

#1: Make it possible to mix 4x Masterwork aquabreathers and have them upscale with normal mystic forge chances to rare and onto exotic. 8 months overdue imo.

#2: Add an easy mode for dungeons like the infantile mode of super box.. not with easy routes/skipping sections like super box. Just a tamer dungeon run that could be solo’d by 1 person when/if no groups are available.

Rewards for easy mode dungeons would be significantly less then normal mode.

10 dungeon tokens per path, 5 on repeat per day.

I know a lot of people that don’t want to party and as a result miss out on dungeons etc, so an “easy mode” with no enemy above veteran would suit these people without taking away from the normal mode experiences or rewards of a 5 man experience.

Why play an MMO if you don’t like grouping? All Anet needs to do to make finding groups for dungeons easier is to make them ALL a part of the story-line completion like the Missions in the original GW were.

I think they should make Dungeons story-mode a part of the Story-line completion. I know you have to do Arah right now, but I think it should be all the dungeons. It would give people a reason to do them as they level just like it gave a reason to do Missions in original GW.

I’ll play PvP when Anet brings GvG and HoH to GW2. Untill then, I’ll stick to Pve/Dungeons. I’d yather see WvWvW be HoH oriented than how it is now. And give us a reason to do it. Back in GW, whoever held HoH opened up FoW/UW for there side. No reason they can’t do this but make it between 3 servers instead of between continents.

This would actually be cool, but favors population too much unfortunately. In GW1 it worked because of fixed team sizes, but we wouldn’t want this to end up being “Whoever has more people gets to play this cool PvE content on their server”. Talk about a fast way to empty out servers that can’t hold the point that rewards the PvE content, though.

I totally agree about making whichever server holds WvWvW in it’s current state have access to UW/FoW. I’d like to see the current WvWvW turned into the old HoH where it’s 3 teams(1 from each server competing) does battle for control like HoH was in GW. Just do away with the current WvWvW format and it’s ZERG mentality and give us HoH from GW.

can i ask why people play a game called Guild Wars and don’t participate in pvp?

Crossbows, Spears, and Bo staff for Rangers would be great. I loved my R/P in GW. Used to go into RA w/ a Spear and shield and wolf and tear up kitten. Other team always ignored the wolf till it was too late, lol.

I’ll take a look at how it compares to Necro staff auto. I will say that when this does hit it is the highest DPS #1 skill in the game. We wanted it to feel this powerful but difficult to land but the effect may be too exaggerated. I’ll play some PvE and PvP scepter Guardian later today.

No, Guardian is a strong profession, but the Scepter autoattack is obviously not tuned correctly. However, I’d say the same is true to a lesser extent for most ranged weapons. Lon g Range Shot is a pretty egregious offender also.

My point was that Guardian is one of the strongest professions right now and Ranger is in the bottom 2. Why not look at our ranged weapons and the problems they have to make us at least on par with the others?

The moral of the story is, rangers can pump out some serious DPS, if you build them properly. Running bows or axes, on the other hand, severely gimps their DPS and gives them a bad name in dungeons. Hell, I have to admit that until I actually looked into it, I thought rangers were bad DPS too.

The problem is that most people rolled Ranger to be a “ranged” DPS with a pet. And has already been said, Thiefs, Wars, and Guardians do better melee DPS and bring much better buffs and CC.

I’d love to see Anet implement Javelins/Spears like the Paragons had in GW:Nightfall. I loved playing my Ranger/Paragon in Random Arenas and watching the other team ignore my pet as it killed their healer in a few shots (I specced full BM for RAs). I’m figuring IF they ever add new weapons, it’ll be in an expansion. And I hope they just add new weapons to existing professions and not add new professions(they already combined most of the GW professions to get the eight professions we have now, just missing the Nightfall weapons).

Nice build, but to me Ranger is the Bow/Pet class not another melee class. If i wanted to play melee w/ medium armor I’d roll a Thief. They need to fix the longbow and our utilities then we’ll be much better.

If they bring back UW/FoW then they have to bring back HoH also. Make it so whoever holds HoH between the 3 servers battling in WvWvW that server gets access to FoW/UW.

Heroes ascent in gw1 was 8vs8 you kill the other team you win that and GvG it was great please add it. I’m not interested in deathmatch which is just a slaughter fest the one with most kills win no thanks rather play this in fps games.

+10 GvG definately needs to be added. This is GUILD Wars after all. I loved HoH in the original. It was a great way to test out GvG builds and it gave you an objective(whoever held HoH opened up Underworld and Fissure of Woe for their respective contiinent). Perhaps if HoH was added again you could have the HoH holder open up FotM for their server with the 3 WvWvW servers being the ones battleing for it.

All the Dwarves except Ogden were turned to stone to fight the first dragon that appeared in GW:EotN. So Ogden is the only one left. And Sylvari are the “Elf” race of Tyria.

I’d love to see my Necro get his Elite Scar Patterns back(Scar patterns on top half and pants and boots) and my Ranger would love his Stormbow back also (Actually thought the longbow skin from HoM would be Stormbow).

The only things missing from this game are Guild Halls and GvG just like Guild Wars had. I mean come one, the game is called GUILD wars, not arena team wars or server wars. I know they are supposedly working on GVG, but it should have been a priority to be in at launch. If it wasn’t for GvG the original GW would have failed, but Anet saw fit to take GvG and do million dollar tournaments the first few years which lead to a great epsort and game growth.

The only other thing that I’d love to see implemented that was in the original is Hall of Heroes battles. HoH was the training ground for GvG and in the beginning the only way to get to FoW or UW was for your continent to hold HoH.

If these two features were implemented then GW2 would be guaranteed a long life just like GW had.

I have to agree that a Last time logged in feature is needed. And maybe even a last time represented feature. The being able to join multiple guilds thing is the worst thing I’ve ever seen in a MMO. Especially for casual guilds. My guild was able to get about 50+ members in the first few weeks without really looking, but 90% of them never represented us and so it was like only having 10 people not 60. I proceeded to kick out those that I knew hadn’t represented us since joining and that did knock us down to around 15 people.

These are good ideas but what about the Small Guilds? Big guilds would have a huge advantage in capturing and holding different guild halls over the smaller guilds. Also, there are probably 100’s(possibly 1000’s on some servers) of guilds per server. That would leave some guilds out of having a Guild Hall.

I say bring back the Guild Halls from GW1 where you can add upgrades and it would be your home map for GvG battles. After all Guild Wars isn’t Guild Wars without Guild battles.

Instead of new professions How about adding a secondary class to the characters? or branching out the current ones in 3 or more. Exemple:

- Warrior/Ranger
- Guardian/Engineer
… and so on

or branching

Here’s a post I made in the “Spears on Land” thread:

Spear and Shield reminds me of the Paragon from GW. You could make the “Javelin” usable by Warriors, Rangers, and Guardians since they all already have shouts. Then you could add in some special Skills for the shield and warhorn when wielding a spear in MH. Echos and Anthems would be a great addition to these classes.

I’d say that would be the best way to have Paragons in GW2, especially since they say the Guardian is the evolution of the Paragon.

Long time forum lurker and player since launch. Main is Ranger with a 80 Guardian as alt. Mainly play PvE and Dungeons. Been using builds I found here and on GW2Guru since launch, Finally decided to try making my own build:

10 Man dungeon

I’d like to see them bring back their 8-man and 12-man Elite Missions/areas from GW. Fow, UW, Sorrow’s Furnace, Urgoz’s Warren, The Deep, and DoA were some of the reasons people still played GW after 8 yrs. If they added some Elite Dungeons like these with hard to find weapon skins it would go a long way to retaining the population and probably bringing back some that have already left.

I guess I wouldn’t be surprised if they added more classes in future packs/expansions/gem purchases. The more the merrier! I don’t know that they’d make any class that was focused on support though since that would dangerously approach the trinity that they try so hard to avoid. I’m sure they could bring those classes back though as long as they changed them enough to stick to their “I don’t care how much you like to play a tank, healer or support character, you’re going to play a DPS character and like it!” philosophy.

I played all 3 professions in GW and all were able to DPS and support with Dervishes able to tank also. I don’t think it would be hard to make Ritualist like a Necro with spirits able to tank like minions, Paragons have heavy armor so should be able to tank easily, and Dervishes could have a Form that allows them to play support.

The mention of Paragon teachings doesn’t mean that the Guardians are the new Paragons. It means that there’s room for Anet to add weapons like Spears/Javelins and skills like Athems, Echos, and Chants like the Paragon used. As I said before, I’d be happy if they just made Warriors able to be spear chuckers and use some of the old Paragon shouts/anthems/chants/echoes.

The thing I liked best about Paras was that you could do good dps while playing a support role. And if you had 2 Paras in your group the buffs were just nasty. Monks loved having us in there group because we not only helped buff their heals but could throw some heals ourselves to take some pressure off them.

I loved the Paragon in Nightfall.It was my main alt. I’d be happy with them just adding spears and some old Paragon skills to the Warrior if they don’t want to add the class.

A problem with them making spears available is they already have them as underwater weapons for most classes tho.

Also, I really really want to get the guild capes back! they were such a nice feature to your guild in guild wars 1 and imo it would fit well in gw2 too

I loved Guild Capes in GW. Much better than the Guild Armor/Weapons in GW2. Got Guild Armor on my ranger and now wish I hadn’t. Ugly as hell and a waste of gold. Also like the feature of being able to turn off the guild cape when not in a town or city.

Myself I’d love to see the 100’s of skills we had per profession and not have our 1-5 skills locked to a weapon. I loved coming up with new and original builds and not being pigeon-holed into 3-4 builds because of weapon choice.

Getting to max level in GW1 was only the beginning of the game.

Getting to 20 in GW meant you could do the “real” content in GW. Loved that aspect of it too. Now you hit 80 and don’t feel like finishing the story because you’re already bored with your character and just want to start a new different profession.

1. 100’s of builds per toon
2. fast leveling(but not too fast) and most content was made for max level(end game content)
3. Armor/Weapon skins were much better and profession dependent( you could tell a ranger from an assassin by their armor)
4. Elite areas like Fow and UW to get Hard to find weapons and crafting mats
5. HoH and GvG (I know these are supposed to be in the works, but not here now)

Agreed!!! I’d love to see some of the GW skins brought into GW2. I’m currently wearing my Heritage medium skin on armor because I don’t like ANY of the Medium skins for my ranger. My Guardian is also wearing his Heritage skins because it’s the best looking Heavy skin.

I’d like to see them give us the ability to wear the GW skins that we point in our HoM if they add some of those skins to the game. Love to wear my Elite Luxon Ranger gear again.

If they give the option to turn off the big weapon/spell effects then they’ll need to give the option of a casting bar for interrupts. I personally would rather see the cast bar than a million fireworks going off when doing a big event. Would definitely help bring in some people on the real low end systems also.

With the spell effects the way they are now, I stay away from the big events like Jormag and WvWvW because it lags me too much. And I have a feeling even if I upgraded my CPU/MoBo that I would still lag in big 100+ player events.

They need to implement the LFG system they used in GW for missions. It could be you only see people that are LFG in the zone you are in and allow you to list why you are LFG. Then a person could invite people to their group. GW2 doesn’t need an automatic group maker like WoW and many other MMOs have today. That takes away the social aspects of MMOs. I still remember using Dungeon finder in WoW and no one even spoke while you did the dungeon. Just zerged their way through and left after getting gear/tokens.

I’d rather see some of the later storyline require a group also. It was one of the things in GW that made it great and a social game. Didn’t have people just soloing theendgame Missions untill Heroes were introduced.

If they just bring HoH to GW2 they could then give FotG(Gods being the Norn Spirits, Pale Tree, maybe Kormir since she is youngest human god, etc). FotG could be an extra siege weapon or another buff for WvWvW. This would keep WvWvW significant and give those of us that hate all the zerging a place to PvP like we had in GW. And HoH would be between the 3 servers that are competing in WvWvW not America vs EU vs Oceanics.

The idea of the differently “tiered” Dungeons is to give a sense of progression when doing them. The loot will still have a base stat level the for the “non-endgame” dungeons. The level 80 Dungeons will have max level gear and the different tiers of gear will be based on the rarity of the drop not the stats. In other words, just like it was in GW with Missions and the endgame instances like UW, Fow, Urgoz’s, etc.

My Ranger looked the same from lvl2 till 80(HoM Armor). But that’s just because I don’t like ANY of the medium armors for a Ranger(I want my Elite Luxon Armor I had in GW). And one of the funnest things in GW was finding stuff like a “perfect” stormbow in UW. That’s what I want, all level 80 gear equal in base stats with the ability to modify it with inscriptions, runes, sigils or whatever, and just do dungeon runs/Dynamic Events/Farm for the skins.

I just want to see them take gear back to how it was in GW. As I said before, I had numerous toons that left Ascelon city and were run to Droknor’s Forge to get armor. I would also give my alt toons the Rare named weapons that they could use. All this BS about Rares, Exotics, Legendary and Ascended gear would be gone if they implemented the same type of gear progression they used in GW. In other words no gear progression just story progression.

And Kaimick, Guild Wars may have only been a CoRPG and not a MMORPG; but it survived, nay thrived, for 8 years with no gear progression.
