Oh I did not realise the movement of the world was not necessarily correct anymore, is there a list of what has been changed from it?

I would kind of like something like a quest log but really thinking about it every game I play that has a quest log I always end up with a big backlog of quests that I dont end up finishing.

I do quite like how as it is you have map completion and general exploration and then as you are doing that if you take the time to talk to people and have a look around you will notice things happening (sometimes you can trigger them yourself) and then those things chain to other things and before you know it you just spent a whole lot of time doing something you never went in intending to do (and presumably having fun or why the heck are you doing it).

I would definitely like a larger time span on some events though, killing nageling giant feels kind of pointless because i logged off for dinner after having this epic fight with a group of people to kill it and then by the time i logged back on again it was back already -_-. Then in Dredgehaunt cliffs I did an event to help an npc kill an arctodus because he wanted its fur for a rug, did that and had to answer the door, came back to the game and i dont know what the hell he did to his rug but he needed a new one already and by looking at the chat log I could see it was only 4 minutes between both times.

TBH I would not like this idea at all, I am fully aware of the massive potential stemming from the modding community (especially having seen their work with certain bethesda titles) but I like how the guild wars universe is with everything (bugs excluded) is intentionally placed in the game by ANET

I believe a better way to acquire precursors needs to be implemented, one relying less on rng but to just straight up get one from achievement points feels too easy.

I would go for a massive scavenger hunt type thing where you had to gather a bunch of different resources throughout the game and maybe having one component needed to get your precursor in a non rng way would come from achievement points (perhaps you could get one of those components every 3000-4000 achievement points you got). Otherwise it would cheapen the whole process of getting a legendary if it was too easy to get the components.

Yeah for sure a dedicated equipment slot for it would be nice where you could tick it showing or not like certain armor pieces. I do find invisible bags useful for more than just a mini pet though

Its a big part of pve gameplay and if they were to remove it, it would seem very weird. I dont play much pvp but if there are legitmate concerns about downed state there at worst I would say maybe some rebalancing should be done but it would be wrong to just cut that gameplay feature out of an entire mode of play just because

coffers are practically guaranteed, they will be the only way to obtain jade tickets. The fact that it is an rng chance for them and most of the time the other stuff in the loot table will drop means that there isnt much of a chance the other stuff will raise for quite some time (the holo knight is possible but even if it rises it wont be by too much unless it doesnt come back next dragon bash but it would then be a very long term investment).

Wings are pretty sure to rise too imo its just a matter of time. Hard to say whether or not it is worth buying them to resell but if you get a pair as a drop definitely hold onto them.

You can not be scammed playing this game as intended.

If you want to use the mail system to trade its at your own risk just like it would be if you had condomless sex with a stranger. It’s not something you had to do nor were you encouraged to do so by any trustworthy source so the consequences are your own fault.

Well there were already other spoilers about the book in the game before the plaques (like the commodore and also the fact that lions arch even exists) so I don’t think its too big a deal.

Plus there are people like me who aren’t too likely to end up reading the books but are still interested in the lore of the universe which I think is why they were put in game in the first place

Yeaaaaah…. it took 5 races, 3 orders and everything they had to be able to kill zhaitan.

Plus since the time of the elder dragons last awakening zhaitan has been weakened

A portion of his magic was drawn into the bloodstone when that was created and the personal story has you weakening him as well. Also I don’t know if the cataclysm had anything to do with zhaitans magic but if it did that would have hurt.

My ideas on it are that
kralkatorrik is recovering from its fight with destinys edge
mordremoth is still sleeping
primordus is building forces and fighting the dwarves (in which case we wouldnt see him until either he defeats the dwarves and comes up or we go down)
deep sea dragon has an entire ocean to mess with and we will mostly see its influence through the races who used to live down there
jormag is probably sexing it up with those norn females that never return from fighting it

I don’t have evidence for what I am about to say but its what I think will turn out to be the case:

The seers we will see in a fractal, it didn’t seem like there were many (if any) left in guild wars 1 time so they are probably extinct by now. However we now have this really cool idea of seeing events that happened in the past, future or even a different timeline.

The dwarves will be there when we are fighting primordus

The forgotten will be there when we are fighting kralkatorrik

The Mursaat will be there when the maguuma jungle is expanded upon, I know they are supposed to be all extinct but I find that very hard to believe that will turn out to still be the case.

I think for sure it is inevitable that unlimited use harvesting tools will return but not that we would get the same ones back (I can’t see the molten pick axe making a return) which would suggest new animation effects and possibly different speeds.

Dragon wings are not a bad investment, they are a bad short term investment (unless halloween drops the same big stuff as last year then people will assume dragon bash will do the same too)

Sure you might be feeling the pain a little if you bought the wings when they were 10g+ but I am pretty sure it will go up again.

You can’t have a secondary profession so you would never be able to have them all on one character AND at the moment there are so few elite skills you would be done very quick. I would support the idea of something being in place to direct you to do certain bosses or content which we sort of have with dailies and monthly achievements but more indepth

Actually, do you realise how devastating it would be to the economy in game if nothing was soulbound? Supply would continually increase, prices would drop, nothing would have any value.

Also other things that are soul/account bound like karma or dungeon armor are so that they have to be earned by playing certain content as opposed to just buying them off the tp.

Yeah…. to be honest that sounds like a lot of work (especially if they never laid down any sort of infrastructure to support that kind of functionality) and very little benefit. I personally don’t see it happening and there really isn’t anything wrong with the current dye system either.

no when I started playing I was on Vabbi and it was in a period of time when we had no commanders but we managed to zerg just fine. All it takes is a quick message in chat like wheres the action at. Taking away commander tagging on any day is going to annoy more people than it pleases I think.

I agree with some of that, it is a pain that a lot of skills are unuseable under water. For example, you have so few elite skill options to start with but as a thief you are not able to use dagger storm underwater.

And to add to that it is also in a world where magic is a real thing? That pretty much negates any comparison to real world physics as magic throws that right out of the water and that’s far from the only thing that exists in Tyria but not our world.

I like the idea but would consider it low priority (if it takes away time from other new content they are working on then no thanks)

OP I don’t think its fair to complain about the amount of money you earn in game when there are plenty of ways to get it regardless of your play style, especially when the main problem just seems to be you aren’t willing to put any effort in.

-Fractals
-WvW (join a zerg or a smaller attack squad)
-Farming (either killing mobs of gathering materials)
-Events
-Crafting (not everything but you can learn what is worth crafting)
-Playing the tp
-Mapping
-Getting event items to resell when event ends

Most things you do in this game earn you some kind of currency and if you are unwilling to do any of them you should really question whether this is even the right game for you.

They have added bits and pieces of classes that arent in the game into ones that are so it’s not so easy to say yeah I want this class back as it would need to change to not be redundant.

The main thing I have to add to this discussion though is that I would LOVE to be able to use a scythe again. Don’t care how or why or any other specifics, I just want it.

That would defeat the purpose of laurels entirely. They are a type of currency players acquire at the same rate whether they are casual, hardcore or inbetween that they can use to get certain items.

Using laurels will take longer than other types of currency but they ensure that all players can get ascended items without having to be able to do guild missions or fractals.

Just what is the need to play instruments in pvp anyway? I would suspect it more likely the horn being able to play there is unintended and will be changed at a later date

Also I would love this idea but I reckon other poster is probably right about copy right issues.

Another thing is that I still don’t think they have safeguards in place for if someone buys a bank slot or character slot that they can’t actually use (because they already have the max) yet. They would then have to extend that to the new gifting thing.

On the otherhand, everything else would just be an item so while you might gift another player an item they already have they would still be able to make use of it on an alt if they wanted.

Yes definitely but this might be better to put in the suggestions forum instead. It’s a pain to get obsidian shards or alcohol from karma vendors if you want more than a handful.

Thurhalla an npc in sigfasts stead also seems to have the same thing going on, speaking like she knows you presumably from the norn personal quest.

It’s either a bug or an oversight but his dialogue is http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Tarkad even when you are playing a sylvari (and possibly other non norn races, have not checked).

The reason I say that is because he references the hunt which is your tutorial mission but only if you are a norn.

Was reading through some of the articles on the wiki and got really into it when I came across this particular passage in the Jormag article:

“Whenever a group of norn attack Jormag or its champions, the men always return as icebrood, attacking the source of the group of norn in revenge; however, female norn never return. It is unknown what happens to them.”

I realise we probably don’t know the answer to the question I posed in the title but what I really wanted to ask was where did that information come from and is it legit?

I don’t think we have been given any reason to believe that there was an elder dragon in cantha. There were normal dragons in guild wars 1 but that’s about it.

Records from the 5 races from the time of the last elder dragon awakening only indicate 6 dragons.

TBH that just sounds like it is needlessly complicating the dye system.
We have a preview color system already so you can figure out whether we want to use it ourselves or not.

Already as it is you can use any dye unlocked on a character for any of their armor pieces ever. That is very lenient compared to GW1 where you used 1 dye for 1 piece of armor.

Well as far as I know we haven’t had any new categories added to the slayer achievements which makes me wonder if its hard to do so in which case it might be easier to add them to an existing category.

I would like an aetherblade category just as much though

Clearing out my Bank and I noticed a pair of mad king slippers that I think were bound to a character I no longer have. They now can’t be used or salvaged (not that I think they were salvageable before) and because items bound to other characters can’t even be carried by alts I can’t merch them for the vendor price of a couple silver either.

My suggestion is this > Allow other characters to hold soulbound items in inventory (so they can at least merch them if they are in a similar situation)

Unless I’m mistaken about whakittens referring to are they not being advertised as sky pirates? And yet they don’t count for the pirate slayer achievement as far as I can tell.

my favorite thing was finding that the tavern up by the vista in traders forum in lions arch plays a tune every 4 minutes, I heard at least 2 different ones and one of those was the dragon bash one. Not something I saw advertised anywhere, just sneakily added into the game which is awesome to find.

Well the thing is there’s this thing called the vocal minority. What that is is a smaller portion of the overall community being upset about something and complaining about it. This happens because the ones who aren’t upset over that thing mostly wouldn’t comment about it.

If that problem gets resolved, people don’t necessarily switch to saying positive things they just stop saying negative things, unfortunately whatever was done to appease that first group probably annoyed some other people who will then start complaining.

In terms of rng with the game, as far as I’m concerned it’s all fine except the stuff you pay real money for. At the very least the real money stuff should have a much better chance (at least 33%) for the good stuff.

Something else I just noticed yesterday, hylek are typically smaller than the player but in caledon forest there is a champion risen hylek event by the spiral tree jp and its pretty massive. I reckon this indicates that either some races have a massive growth cycle or that being a minion of Zhaitan means he could influence what size you are

I know you guys at ANET get a lot of flak from the community for a lot of things but I would just like to make it known that at least one player (this one, presumably more too) is loving the dragon bash content. The effigies have given a great reason to go about exploring the world you guys have created, the dragon ball activity is imo at least the best one yet. Then there is the instanced and related content which I’m always interested in especially if its this good.

The only thing that would make it better is having a themed jumping puzzle like the mad kings clocktower or whatever the wintersday one was called.

In the same vein it would be nice if there were slayer achievements for branded and destroyers.
