bought that item from the itzel vendor in verdant brink, noticed it didnt ping any unlock on the side of my screen so i went to right click it to view what collection it was a part of. that crashed the game. 3 times I tried and crashed the game each time, mousing over the item does not crash it only right clicking it.
possible solution? :O and how exactly have yall come to a conclusion that there is a problem…
really excited to see this change come into the gametype, can’t wait to try it out
Awesome to hear
I can read them and get credit for the achievement but they save inconsistently to the book. found 3/8 so far and only 1 has saved to the book
edit
completing the collection corrected the error I think, story seems complete anyways

Today I got into an instance where the event chains were not bugged and I was able to do immelhoof. That horrible stuttering still appears whenever approaching norans so perhaps they are not related like I first thought
some kind of bug going on right now the event is bugged out with 0 white mantle remaining and no other events in that area are spawning because of it (including immelhoof and the ghosts)
also there is a horrible stuttering happening when approaching norans outpost
I can only imagine the reason I didnt have this feedback back when the map first came out might be because it was even more populated however…
Was doing the chalice of tears for the aurora collection and had gotten up to the 5th checkpoint, was reasonably happy with my progress when all of a sudden I was shunted out of the instance and lost all my checkpoint progress.
First issue slightly off topic but I imagine there would have been some kind of message at some point warning me of the impending map closure. Unfortunately it disappeared and went out of my mind while evidently it was still counting towards map closure in the background. Would be nice if the map closure timer persisted above the mini map so that we can know for sure if a map is still going to be closed and what sort of time we have before it does.
Second issue is the losing of the checkpoint progress… that really stung. I realise the reason they are needed is so you can’t just skip the whole thing (unless you have some really awesome mesmers) so my suggestion would be if there was some way to remember the checkpoints had been reached like how the game remembers if you did daily things that day
in map chat they were saying possibly this was related to having the fire orchid node already
i have all the previous nodes already so i cant test for myself which specific one is preventing the oyster node from showing up on the vendor though
using sb/a+t condi ranger build off meta battle and while it is very powerful I do struggle to survive with it in raids, any tips toward that would be much appreciated
Transferring has been destroying WvW communities.
Neither queues nor transferring are effective at retaining player interests.
An alternative solution is increasing server capacity and bandwidth to meet player demands.
I dont think that sounds like a good decision, wouldnt that lead eventually to all players being on the same 3 servers? I dont know what it would be but Anet needs to come up with a solution to encourage people to spread out to different servers so the numbers balance out better.
No way I disagree completely OP. It is completely fair to reward people who have been playing longer (i.e. higher rank) an extra pip especially at those intervals.
It also has the side effect of giving another reason to want higher rank.
Also wvw =/= pvp, and the rank system for each is quite different i dont think it makes a good comparison to say x should be like y.
edit
If anything they probably need to take a look at the outnumbered bonus. As is I do not think it is working as they intended, having that bonus gives you more pips than if you were winning the previous skirmish even…
My suggestion would be to change the skirmish placement pips to 2,3,4 and then bring outnumbered down to 4 (or have the skirmish placement pips at 3,4,5 and leave outnumbered as is)

Awesome list Linsey, would love to see most of those make it to the game.
Things like lumber cores and other scribing materials that drop out in the world I feel would make a good addition, if something had to be sacrificed to get them my experience of the cooking profession (no idea if im in the minority or not) has been that I only craft exactly what I needed for what I’m making.
it would be much easier to choose my favorite story patch (thatd be lake dorrics update)
theres actually a lot i love about all of the maps and its real hard to choose, gun to my head I might say ember bay pushes its way to the top by a thin margin
the one big pain from that patch was all the health sponge enemies in the story instances… nothing more challenging about them just a whole lot more tedious.
imo would have been better for them to have new mechanics instead although admittedly that could take resources they dont have so alternatively using mobs like they already had in the actual map the ones that hit really hard but if you can sustain or dodge you can kill them.
please dont repeat that mistake on ep 6
Keep in mind, you don’t have to face the barrier the entire time you are scanning it. Just long enough to target it in the first place.
My complaint with this achievement is that there isn’t a “leave instance” button until after the final boss, so if you get hit, you have to kill yourself to try again.
What i did was just glide up a bit till i was out of combat and then go to guild hall to escape the instance and then leave guild hall to get back to the map to retry.
Aside from everything else that was done in this episode that I enjoyed the single thing I am most thankful for is the idea of a glitch in time as in the last instance allowing you to skip dialogue and tutorial-esque stuff on repeat runs going after a certain achievement. I hope you guys remember that idea going forward for future instanced content as well
My suggestion would be to just add an extra pve daily for a dungeon and have it rotate between all 8 dungeons over time. The rewards can be the same as whenever a dungeon currently comes up in the daily rotation, only difference would be that there would now ALWAYS be a dungeon on the daily tab.
As with jumping puzzles I think this would draw people to the content and it would make it easier to find a group for a dungeon you wanted to do.
As stated above generation 2 isn’t even done yet
Announcing the next expansion without completing the second generation legendaries would be like giving every troll, naysayer, reviewer, and clickbait article a knife and a fork to tear into the game. Perception matters and its too soon to be discussing an third gen legends or even an expansion.
But if if I was going to discuss 3rd gen legionaries I’d say they should be plain mundane looking weapons. No visual effects such as football and all of them one singular set of weapons like the sets you see in exchange for blk lion tickets. The only ability would be changeable stats akin to a legendary.
The reason for this is because in Gw1 with Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, and I think EotN you were rewarded a legendary weapon for completing the game. In core Gw2 we were awarded a choice of a pact weapon however in HoT we were awarded a pat on the head and told to get lost. So I’d like a return to the GW1 still of a basic legendary awarded for beating the big bad at the end of the story arc.
The weapons in that case I wouldnt say are exactly legendaries however I did like that system. Also I think it would be a mistake to make gen 3 legendaries before they finish gen 2 and if they continue the current pace of 1 per ls3 ep they wont be done before the expansion (or at least when we are anticipating the expansion to be released).
Going that way for the next expansion could be a good solution in the mean time. Then they can keep working on releasing gen 2 and if they announce gen 3 for expansion 3 people would be hungrier for them.
I dont have the ability to make a video so I was wondering how I was going to explain this bug. I am experiencing the exact same thing and its horrible.
In case it matters my character I am playing SAB with is a thief
i think people who think the new rifle is a gag weapon are getting mixed up between the idea of a joke weapon and the idea of a strongly themed weapon.
anet did address this in the ama though and said they were not doing a 1:1 serious to joke weapon thing.
Why is this still a thing? its just as bad as the recruit permissions being tied into the kick permissions… they are separate things and should have separate permissions
VB Ordnance Corp collect event too long

My thoughts on moving the guy were that if it was less distance to go to hand the salvage in it could be done by less people leaving more to focus on the frogs. Or if everyone was running the salvage they would be able to get back to the fight quicker if needed.

Was not sure I could fit it all in the title what I am referring to specifically is the event in the ordnance corp chain in VB that has you go collect a bunch of airship salvage.
It can easily take 10-15m on this one event and even longer if just a few people at the event are not actually helping with the collection.
Possible solutions to this to me could be:
*Lower the amount of airship salvage needed
*Move the guy who we hand stuff in to up to where we get the salvage from
*Move the guy we hand stuff in to over to the jump mushroom and allow us to throw the salvage down like in that scar lane event in TD
you could removethe tactivators and simply add them as a dialog option to the upgrade npc so that people who dont know what they do wont hit them out of curiosity. that would eliminate over half of the abuse
Npcs can be killed which would make them unusable.
well actually wouldnt that make it a strategy for people to try to kill that npc? and then also on the reverse side to defend them
while i agree that it should be more accessible to wvwers considering what the main usage is for at the same time i would say if you are flat out refusing to do a tiny bit of pve to get them in the meantime you are bringing pain on yourself
how does squad participation work if you nominate someone to be getting that? could the same system be used to give healers rewards?
I was on reddit and going to direct someone to support as their problem can only possibly be helped by them but when i clicked onto the tab so i could copy and paste the link i got an error.
“en.support.guildwars2.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is only valid for the following names: *.guildwars2.com, guildwars2.com "
Noticed that the placement skill for the flesh wurm checks pathing which I think seems real stupid, it should only do that on the secondary use of the skill.
Im thinking surely im not the only one who noticed it so have the devs ever responded about it being intended behaviour or is it a bug?
OK but the problem we are having isnt that it is hard to see or that we can’t get to it. The problem is that it sometimes just doesn’t spawn the third console.
When that happens, there are only 2 objective markers on the mini map and 2 consoles to interact with. I am not 100% sure on the other times this bug has happened but the most recent time it was the console by the door that didnt spawn.
Also I would like to emphasize the “sometimes” because our experience has been very inconsistent, sometimes the right amount of consoles does spawn and sometimes it doesnt. Even on Guild Fractal night if this comes up as a daily we could find some groups having the bug and others not.
What is happening is we get up to the top room and we are expecting there to be 3 consoles to deactivate the trap and open the door and yet the game only spawns 2.
We tried to do it with those 2 but no dice.
The scale we were on was scale 24 btw
Didnt know quite how to phrase the issue in the topic title but what is happening is when I right click a name in the guild roster to kick from guild if I dont move down to the option fast enough it changes to invite to guild. This is not just looking like invite to guild, clicking it informs you that you cannot invite as they are already in the guild.
Extra information: I am clearing the people with 1+ year inactivity from the guild, possibly that could be having an effect (the 1 year inactivity)
I was asking first if i was correct in my observation that the limit seems to still be 3 (or if other people have not had that) and 2nd if the limit of 3 is out of date and was overlooked when the node was added or if it is still intended we can only get 3 a day
i could be wrong as i only started caring about them this morning before reset but i looked it up and they were limited to 3 per account per day before ember bay. a new node got added with ember bay but as far as i can tell from this mornings run and my post reset run the account limit is still 3.
oh if it wasnt clear i am referring to blooming passiflora nodes :P
Meh, misleading topic title. What content are you missing out on exactly?
As for it being a slippery slope they’ve actually already done worse than this when they added the mini pets that have quests (aka actual content) to get other mini pets
I have a feeling either it will be allied with us or some other group will defeat it (Largos maybe)
Sorry if its been mentioned here but there is a really obvious consideration that I didnt see get made.
Outfits they design once for each race and gender variation and then maybe add a little support afterwards if they messed up on clipping somewhere.
Armor they have to try to consider how each piece looks separately and how it meshes with existing armor. Plus there is an extra layer of designing it for the 3 different weight classes.
I bought outfits. I will continue to buy outfits I like. I do not know what other players enjoy, but I like fashion wars.
Outfits aren’t fashion wars – they are simply pasting a look on yourself. Mixing and matching is fashion wars.
I dont think I agree with that for example the harbinger of mordremoth outfit looks like puke unless you hide the head piece and dye it right.

Impressions so far:
Love the fractal, very well done and engaging. Even worthwhile rewards to chase over and I’ve been hearing of a challenge mode with even more rewards which is quite exciting to think about. And I wasn’t expecting it to continue the chaos fractal story or to like it if it did do that (I did), so well played there as well.
Love what I’ve seen of the new map so far, it looks awesome (especially the bottom right areas are my favorite with the hot pools and the jotun stones). Again with the rewards just from the vendors I’ve peaked at so far there is a lot I am excited to go after and work towards that could potentially keep me captivated for quite a while.
Story wise, I felt the instances had too many vets and elites to the point of being ridiculous. Sort of like it is taking up the mantle of the original high scale fractals before they started getting reworked. Times it did that were tedious and when I died I felt cheated not challenged.
Where mechanics were worked in instead I feel the instances did a lot better.
no way, i dont want it and i dont see it happening. the only reason unobtainable (as yet) achievement rewards exist is to support the achievement system for the future.
if we ever get zephyrite involvement in any future maps or perhaps if labrynthine cliffs comes back id expect we could see more nodes come into the game for quartz crystals and possibly to balance that off more uses for them
personally ive never liked the invulnerability mechanic for mobs, it turns the idea of positional strategy into a limp biscuit presumably just out of concern people would abuse it although I don’t see how doing so would possibly be a lucrative thing to do considering it would take longer.
no matter what you do though there will ALWAYS be a best thing to use in any given scenario. the best anet can do is try to make sure that everything does at least have a purpose

people saying anet needs to fix the issue are missing the root cause of the problem i think which is the expectation that anet WILL meddle in the economy. thats what makes (some) people hoard stuff and that loop is probably what they are trying to break
No, some of the NPE stuff should be taken back but the trait streamlining was good, makes it easier for them to add new ones (aka elite specs). Not to say that some of them dont need a rework because they may do but the streamlining itself was positive
Option 1 I dont like at all, I think it would further destroy world identity to just assign sides yet another name each time they are paired with someone new.
Option 2 I do like the sound of as it pushes guilds more into the spotlight but I also think this would not be good for preserving world identities at all (which I am ok with so long as it is an intended decision and not a side effect) and if you go this route I think it is (or should be) heading towards the end destination of getting rid of this idea of worlds and replacing them (perhaps with guilds or groups of guilds)
Option 3 is the one most likely to help towards preserving world identities but I think it would need to change a little bit and steal from option 2.
The way I see this option working would be having any objectives taken called out as captured by server, or if both linked servers particpated than captured by server a and server b.
If you are worried about the amount of text on screen, most people these days know the abbreviations and if not can ask about them for example Henge of Denravi can be cut down to HoD or Isle of Janthir to IoJ.
In terms of how other players see you there is the simple solution of just using borderlands colors as the names but I do think it is important to have server names involved. I have an idea but I don’t know how difficult it would be to implement, if the name plate was the color of the server then the text could be the name of the server without causing confusion as to which side that player is on.
Then of course in the UI both server names (or their abbreviations) would be listed.
Because it’s a priority poll.. they’ll probably implement both, they just asking us which to work on first.
I sure hope so because they both sound pretty important things to have (although i am greedy so i voted for rewards)
I think this could be done without making new servers to be honest. Just set the population cap on the servers that you want even if its lower than it is now. Those that fall above can be designated full, everything else can be free to transfer.
I think that would end up having the same effect as making new worlds except anet wouldnt get the gems from transferring to those other worlds. If they can put that aside from being a problem then they can deal with the other problem incentivising players to move.
This I really think could be as simple as giving a buff to people who take the transfer. (I don’t know exactly the balance of what it should be, that’d have to be worked out between what anet is willing to give and what players would take to move, but an example of what that could be is a month long buff to reward track gain.
Why isn’t straight up killing other players rewarded more?
Just on this there’s really no way to tell what amount of skill was involved and it could really vary based on if it was a 1v1 or 5v1 for example so the reward can’t be too good or it would incentivise lopsided matchups but you do still get stuff for killing other players and the satisfaction of making them unable to participate in taking objectives for the time it takes them to get back to the fray.
normally when i play i will also have youtube running and gw 2 runs fine no problems at all.
currently though i am experiencing these severe lag spikes that kick me to character select in most cases and it is very frequent. occassionally it has booted me entirely from the game. youtube meanwhile has had no issues and is running just fine in the background.
i have 10 bank tabs, 140 slots in inventory on my main and a fully unlocked personal guild bank
personal guild bank is the most achievable if you are dead set on not spending any irl money although you probably wont manage to get it fully unlocked solo
