i think they are just there so that if you are mostly a pvper you have a way to obtain these materials for if you decide to transition to a mode where you might actually want stuff they can get you

id like to be on the optimist side but after legendary weapons being cancelled im not taking anything on faith re: gw2 any more.
that said what has been talked about for the future sounds great and if it actually happens i do believe it will put the game in a good state
oh id definitely like to see that boxing style mission come back, aside from that though i might prefer him as a stronghold summon more than a revenant legend
masteries are a pve progression thing, it would be a terrible idea to remove the progression part of it via tomes which by the way are too easy to get.
perhaps a better idea would be for anet to come up with some interesting sinks for spirit shards which is what the tomes give if you are already level 80
its not an easy thing to get together 9 other people who are either also new at raids or ok with you being new and being able to set aside a not insignificant amount of time to be able to practice them.
plus the amount of elitist bs from many who have actually learned the raids is very off putting

i dispute this one, there are areas fractals could improve for sure (like incentivising away from swamp meta) BUT i never had interest in them before they switched to only needing 1 per run, plus the legendary journeys encourage you to do different ones
i think you are much too late with this rant buddy, its been said before and they listened hence s2 of the living story
as for the season 1 stuff it is at least clear they have an interest in bringing it back, whether or not that will ever materialise who knows

disappointments aside i am overall happy with what i got from HoT
Rotating is a legit strategy and not leaching at all.
If anything perhaps the rewards should be changed so that people get 1 chest for each octo that was killed or 1 overall. That would stop lazy whiners who just want to stay in one side from having anything to whine about
refering to the hylek one with the stones in caledon where you match the stones to those images
puzzle itself is fine but then when you go through the exit door you are on a cliff blocked from actually leaving that cliff because invisible wall…
The precursor creation system is a complete waste of time and effort that serves no purpose.
I have to strongly disagree with that, the journeys lead you through content you may otherwise not have even thought to do and I’ve had a lot of fun doing them. Add to that certain elements of the new legendaries post journey had me more invested in learning the HoT metas than I otherwise would have been and although I couldnt see myself going through that 16 times it was pretty fun the first time.
In regards to the topic I have to say I am both relieved and disappointed at the same time; it would have been really nice to see what other legendarys you guys came up with and I would have at least enjoyed doing the journeys for them but at the same time it feels like it has been too long since regular players have seen any actual story progression and I am excited to see that.
I just hope the gen 2 legendaries dont end up like SaB in a perpetual state of maybe

its not soulbound so you CAN use it on any character
plus you dont even need to lose your place in whatever zone you are in now, you can just go to your guild hall or wvw home borderlands and use a crafting station to deposit it to bank for switching
for even more convenience you could buy and use the shared inventory slots for this purpose although from the tone of your post i suspect youd complain even more at that suggestion
they are fixing mega servers
in the meantime you might want to learn about server taxi-ing plus check the wiki page or ask in game to find when the meta events happen

if you dont have any masteries to level it could be accumulated to the point of a level up tome or spirit shard. maybe it could be done via a repeatable achievement in the achievement panel that captures xp gained while a mastery track is not selected to level
@torolan while there is definitely some rush and seems to have been some cut content (like the supposed nightmare court lane in ds and nightmare court related content throughout other HoT stuff) i dont at all think that adventures were a stopgap measure. pretty sure from the beginning they were talked about, plus they are quite fun many of them anyways
salvaging trinkets doesnt add them to collections, that only occurs if a skin is unlocked (or at least thats my understanding)
the unlock should have happened on account binding the object which since it is ascended should have been instantly so if that didnt happen then yeah i’d suspect bug

the trials was my favorite mission too, after that the one where you get those jump and glide skills you also use in one of the adventures
it would certainly stop add value to more sigils and runes again, aside from a select few they are pretty valueless thesedays
I hate the requirements for the new legendaries. Will only do the precursor collections for the AP, but no way I will waste time on 250 crystalline bars and HoT map completion for these mediocre skins.
to me the crystalline bars are mostly ok because they direct you to do HoT content, just the amalgamated gemstones i really disagree with, feel like such a grind
no why should they nerf them? many people have achieved max mastery lvl proving it is possible. if you can’t do the content you dont deserve the reward end of story
what does it say about these boards that i expected it to be a whiner topic…
anyways yeah tangled depths and auric basin are really awesome maps to explore

i didnt do either of those 2 you are complaining about op and i still have 10 spare mastery points for core tyria after maxing core tyria masteries.

a good fix would be to remove daily fractal from the normal daily category and make fractal daily achievements count for the daily meta
isnt that how we got to the state we are in now? people refusing to learn because there was no need to…
i am thoroughly against an easy mode, it would take away motivation to actually get better
just future proofing here, noticed i was a third of the way to the total amount of chak eggs i would ever need if i was going for the weapons, after that theyd be useless
be nice if you could trade em in for leyline crystals or whatever the map currency is called

Don’t care about Raids, but requiring you to play to get a mastery point is just wrong.
raids aside there are already enough mastery points in game that if you got all of them and unlocked all the masteries you would still have spare. this is an invalid complaint because you DONT have to do the raid to get enough mastery points, you dont even have to complete all the non raid mastery points to get enough
id be thrilled if anet could find a way to do that which does not affect legit players but im not convinced it would be possible. maybe they should buff the gems to gold conversion rate a bit and make the penalties harsher for gold buying. it might sway some gold buyers away which would make it less profitable and perhaps gold sellers might go away that way
You can say dungeons are unrewarding in your opinion but not unprofitable unless you can show me the gold you are spending to just do them isn’t equal to the amount you can get from them, including selling off all the loot you don’t care of.
Now looking at raising the liquid gold amount in dungeons is probably due to two things, one a decrease in the active players who only showed up for dungeons; and two, because gold is draining faster than it’s being replenished by the active players because of GH and items that require both coin and non-tradable event tokens.
the way people figure dungeons as unprofitable is by efficiency
if i could earn x amount of gold doing dungeons for an hour but can earn x + 5g for doing fractals for an hour then by spending that hour on dungeons i would be ‘losing’ that 5g
well there are plenty of maps high leveled enough to have orichalcum nodes try and go through all of them.
gw2nodes is a website which may help
you just need to type in an ip which you get by typing /ip on a map you are in and then if you are lucky people will have entered data for that map shard on gw2 nodes about where all the valuable nodes are which could make your search more efficient
I think anyone complaining about the xp required doesn’t really have a leg to stand on, all you have to do is play the content and the xp comes pouring in, if it isnt fast enough for you there are numerous ways to boost incoming xp even before you consider grinding.
