There are some valid points here but I would just like to add that I am a GW1 player, enjoyed that game and am also loving GW2 and I definitely would say I think they are heading in the right direction with it.
I would love dwarves but I definitely expect Tengu (there’s even a starting city for them already right next to lions) and possibly Kodan.
Perhaps the Largos too but I haven’t seen any of them out of the water and having a water based race that doesn’t have an advantage fighting in the water would be dumb (giving them the advantage would have players of the other races up in arms about the balancing).
I would be surprised to see the quaggans as a playable race too, to me they are like moogles and should remain as npcs.
We’ll find out soon enough I suppose, they will eventually release elona for guild wars 2
I envision ranger but then thats because I fight with bows and in most things they are a pretty stealthy weapon
For general pve you dont really need one
-_- It sounds like what is happening is we are losing one week then we go down and win then back up. At that rate we would never be blue.
How is which borderlands your server starts on determined? I ask that because I only need the right hand side borderlands and their portion of eternal for map completion and our side either stands its own ground or gets stomped fairly consistently.
I’m not about to read 6 pages of replies so I can make a comment to the first post, TC is complaining that certain loot has a predefined time it will take to earn as being the issue as if a) there is no other loot worth getting that could be gotten in other ways and b) there is any significant competitive advantage to be gained by doing so.
If you don’t like doing dailies (personally I enjoy them) then don’t do them, there is other loot to go for
So…. they want to be spoonfed everything straight away? Which MMO does that exactly and how’s it working out for them because I can’t imagine the answer would be well.
I sold my friends on it by showing them some vids of wvw and that was enough, they are still enjoying it.
I want it but dont expect anything like it ever, would take away from people buying keys
Maybe they could have a mini pet slot where you can equip a mini and it will always be on
Yes I have come up against this as well and it seems like a ridiculous problem to even exist. The only reason I could see for it would be in the case that 2 guildies are looking in the guild stash, 1 player removes an item while another is trying to add more to the stack.
Also, those wvw tokens have a misleading greyed out option to deposit collectible, instead of teasing us put that in please
I kill ambients even without the daily
I’ve noticed heavy lag when 2 zergs clash, would expect similar if this idea was put in if the objective was worth fighting for (and if not it would be pointless)
This is a minor bug and it hasn’t stopped me getting in to wvw only prolonged the load time. Some times, when I go to load in to wvw it loads me somewhere other than the wp for the area I picked (most commonly the island in the middle of the lake then as if realising the error it puts me back in to loading to put me where I am supposed to go.
I won’t try and argue things I don’t understand (like the economy) or things that I don’t really have a clear picture of (like the bots impact) but I will say this – the price of gold to gem conversion is too kitten high!
Prerelease, the notion that the game had the option to buy everything from the gem store with in-game gold sounded great but these days 5 gold (a hefty sum for a casual player like myself) will not even buy me 300 gems.
I would like if they added more ways to control the pet, like how with heroes in guild wars 1 you could flag them to an area and they would go there
I’m for more ways to earn laurels, not sure its a good idea to give them for map completion
By that I mean ones such as mini risen priest of balthazar where you get it randomly from the lost orrian jewellery box. If you then happen to be lucky enough to get another you wont need it but you can’t turn it into anything else.
I had been playing other games and only came back to gw2 in the last week or so, last night was the first time the daily dodge requirement came up for me (that i noticed anyway) and I thought it was terrible. Was fighting a vet wurm that was shooting boulders at me and dodging them added nothing to the score. I ended up going to wiki for help which advised me the best way to get it was to run into a zerg in wvw or orr and dodge randomly into it.
I don’t see the point of removing it, I’m sure some people enjoy having another alternative to orr but I’m all for adding more stuff.
That doesn’t work so well for me, my favourite skill sets are ranger shortbow and ranger longbow. It feels like there legendaries should either be more mass appealing all around or like I said at first having more than one of each weapon type at legendary.
Alright I will give that they do appear to be unicorns but if this is not photoshopped (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:The_Dreamer_effects_2.jpg) then they might as well be ponies
So I finally decided I would try to go through everything to get a legendary weapon and since my favourite types are both bows that’s where I started looking into.
The problem is whereas greatswords are themed epicly with sunrise and twilight the bows seem like they are meant for hippies, bronies and girls. One shoots ponies and one is made of flowers.
While I admit it would be a bit of a laugh to shoot ponies at people I would much prefer to get something awesome for all the effort it takes to acquire.
mm for sure this is terrible idea to have it this way.
There are mini dungeons where you can get a chest easily enough without much time investment and I’ve noticed a few chests set behind veteran enemies. Also explorers have jumping puzzles with chests as well.
As with the halloween ones I am going after everything missable with wintersday as well, would appreciate if anyone could let me know what achievements are possible to get right now, thanks
I’ve done it twice, first time gave me achievement but not the chest because apparently I wasn’t quick enough. I would say it was fun and challenging but far from impossible.
Yeah considering they already have a space set aside for the tengu next to lions arch and they have history with cantha I think its a safe bet we will get them, plus I remember articles being released before guild wars 2 even came out that were building up the lore of the kodan in a way that made me think they might become playable at some point.
I main ranger so I would want this :P
When I see a thief go stealth in the middle of a fight though I usually just take my best guess based on their health status, how well they were fighting and what their numbers were like as to whether or not they will run away and then just fire a few shots where I think they went. I’ve managed to get them this way several times
agreed this would be a good feature to have.
Yes this would be very useful, i noticed the issue around halloween when i bought 2.5k candy corn for chef recipes.
For wvw I think that type of thing wouldn’t work so well. On the otherhand I would love to see it if they implemented guild battles with multiple guilds fighting each other on a large map and the ability to make alliances.
That sounds like it would be very annoying and personally isn’t something I would like at all.
There is no down side unless you’re like goat and believe less information is better for no reason what so ever.
Not for no reason, it doesn’t give you any real benefit, especially with all the anti troll measures they would have to enact because of it.
Goat – We’re talking about PvP in a video game, not warefare in real life. In this video game, there are people that stand out for one reason or another. Usually in an MMO, these people are known and its fun to fight them, or with them, etc. In that way, it would be more akin to movies than actual warfare…and the enemy knows rambo..james bond..etc.
PS: It’s fine if you disagree with the suggestion, but at least have experience with the content and/or a basic functioning rationale when responding to a post.
FYI when I said no experience with I was referring to real warfare, I have played WvW and was speaking from having played that.
I don’t think names are necessary for what you said either. As it is you currently can go on what server they are from, what guild they are from and what their character looks like. That is plenty and more than enough to go oh I have faced you before.
yeah… no thanks I like jumping puzzles the way they are.
lol yeah it makes going invisible pretty pointless otherwise
I think 1g is too much for taking a supply camp but if anet balanced out the values I would definitely be into the idea of a shared reward. To be honest, I would be into anything that might stop the zerg madness, it just isn’t fun to fight zerg vs zerg.
Nah I prefer it the way it is now where you know the server and guild but not the name, I won’t pretend I have any real experience in this but I don’t imagine that soldiers are stopping to ask enemy soldiers their names in the middle of a battle.
They should make it so minis wander around and pick up loot for us.
Yes that would be awesome
anet can sort out the charge they feel is appropriate but I like the idea
I wasn’t thrilled with downed state at first but it has grown on me to where I would be disappointed if they removed it now
If you think a certain item is being selled at a loss AND you think people will pay more for it then buy it up yourself and resell for profit. Otherwise that’s an indication right there that resetting the tp will not do anything for that item
go to vabbi and you wont have that problem, you will instead have a different one – finding people to group with on anything.
Yeah… Anet doesn’t just ban people because they were reported as bots otherwise there would be trolls reporting everyone just to get them banned. They have a lot of information stored their side that they can use to see what the behavior of the reported player has been like and there is no chance of a player being banned as a bot, the differences are just too much. I would imagine if the bot was done really well there’s a chance they might get mistaken for a player but that isn’t very likely and if it does happen it won’t have a direct impact on you.
I haven’t had this issue yet but I support the idea that it shouldn’t be easier for any one server to get the pet than for another server.
No way, even if the flaming and smack talking was a non issue. I quite like the way it is at the moment where it doesn’t matter who you’re fighting, just what side they are on.
Also I think chatting to people on over servers should be completely banned while in wvw to add another layer of annoyance to those trying to spy on a server.
