Every month same thing. Every time there’s an event going on, PvP becomes completely unplayable. We’re now making bets what’s gonna screw up when we play. Maybe we won’t be able to even make a roster? Maybe the que for second round gets delayed for 30min? Maybe we’ll have constant lag spikes when we actually make it to the match?
Maybe PvP community should just take a break from the game during the events?
Because looking at the developement priorities past those couple months, fix seems highly unlikely.

Well Hammer is one of the worst weapons you could use against ranged classes, too easy to get kited to death. You should use something to make up for its lack of mobility on 2nd set – GS/Sword/Rifle.
Also, mesmers are weak and useless class. Why else would they get ability to stack insane amounts of might in last patch if not to make them viable in tournaments?

That isn’t even going into the fact that you have just put a Mesmers 2 biggest damaging skills on cooldown to get that stack (and their stun break and all their endurance) and by the time Mind Wrack comes off cooldown then that stack has gone back down to 9. Must I teach you how rotations work?
Indeed. You missed one thing though. The second he gets 25 ( or 18, whatever) stacks, he hits Signet of Inspiration to share them with the whole team. This inculdes Thieves, Warriors (who can bring those 18 stacks up to 25 in 1-2sec anyway) and any other high-dps class.
By the time Mind Wrack goes off cooldown there’s a good chance there will be no one left to use it on.

I’ve been running without it forever :P. Immobilize can be quite productive sometimes. Whirlwind Attack hits almost as hard as 100b when you land whole instead of just one attack. I welcome immobilizes, chills, cripples and nearby walls when fighting someone in meele range

Razer is complete garbage. it’s cheap and breaks in less than a year. while my Death Adder felt great under the palm, it broke after 6 months of moderate use.
Does your ‘moderate use’ mean you throw it every time you get killed? I can’t think of any other way it could break in 6 months. I’ve had the same Death Adder even since it was first released and used it heavily for years, including traveling with it every couple weeks. Still works perfectly.

The time different between hitting in a sequence like 1, 9 is a huge different because the travel distance is less than an inch for your thumb as opposed doing it with your fingers.
Who uses numbers above 5 anyway? I’ve bound everything around WASD and works like a charm. 1-5 for weapon skills, Q for heal, R,F,V for utilities, E for elite. Weapon swap and target assist under mouse thumb buttons. Travel distance is less than an inch for every skill.
Before buying mouse like Naga, make sure it’ld go well with your grip. I’m using a variation of claw grip, using three fingers (including thumb) and a slight wrist movements to control the mouse, and I probably wouldn’t be able to switch to a completely diffirent grip style to free the thumb for pressing buttons constantly.
As for mouse, I’ve been using first generation Razer DeathAdder for years and I love it. Right now I’m considering changing to 2013 version, as I need extra mouse for my laptop.

It makes the world of a diffirence. If you get notified that your base is under attack, you might have time to react. But when thief skips the door and goes straight for lord, there’s 95% chance he’ll be done and gone by the time you get there.

- Is ANet thinking on any way to improve communication with PvP community? IMO lack of communication is one of the main reasons PvPers are leaving GW2. I think we all agree occasional post from Jon, Jonathan or Evan plus a blog post once a month is just not enough. How about introducing someone like PvP Community Manager, person who would handle communication between PvP devs and community through all avaliable channels?

Right and wrong. Axe 5 has the same target limit as every other AoE skill in the game- it can only hit 5 enemies at a time. However, the fact that it hits 15 times and hits 5 random enemies each time means you spread the love around quite effectively. I agree with what you’re saying, just wanted to clear that misconception.

When using GS + popping For Great Justice & signets you can easily stack 25 Might, meaning things will die fast. Endure Pain is for those ‘oh shi…’ situations and will often save your life.
Axes are great for events, as Axe 5 has no target limit, meaning you can easily tag every mob.
If you want to solo champion mobs, you can go 20/30/0/0/20, pick up Crack Shot, replace Axes with Rifle and kite them to death.
It’s very glassy build, but the point of it is to kill everything before they can do any real damage.

I think idea is good, but the execution you’re proposing is way too complicated.
I’ld be more in favour of system TF2 has – a collection of short messagesyou can send by pressing 2 buttons.
Say you press V – this pops up a small window with messages. Then you press 2, sending short chat&voice message like “Help Henge!”
I once wrote a simple script for Secret World that did something like this (minus voice messages) and judging by it’s popularity many players feel the need for such tool.

Fun fact: You can achieve much higher stats in PvE/WvW than in PvP. My PvE Thief in full Berserkers got almost 60% crit chance and 100% crit damage (base stats ofc). Single Unload does same damage as full Backstab combo in PvP.
So you can mix in some defensive gear and still achieve stats that only full glass cannons can get in PvP.

Anyone with half a brain can say that Warrior is going to pop Vengeance soon. Then it’s just a matter of avoiding/kiting him until he drops. Which isn’t so difficult.
Ofc, I often pop Vengeance and burst people who are in the mid of stomp animation on me. That’s exactly the reason I never try stomping a Warrior who’s been on the ground for ~10s already.
Also, many of us play just fine without the GS. I had a lot of fun & success playing axe/mace + sword/shield. There are many other weapons that do not belong in PvP though: Rifle. Longbow. Offhand Sword. Offhand Axe. Mainhand Mace is very rare. Warhorn is used pretty much only for swiftness when running between points.
Also, Sir, I believe you are in a serious need of reality check. 80% of patches since launch never mentioned Warrior. The remaining 20% were either minor bug fixes (like wrong icons in this patch) or buffs to underwater combat no one cares about. You are free to head to News subforum and read old patch notes for yourself.
Also the fact you see all the other classes being useless/ignored makes me wonder which pararell universe you come from.

Turns out, sPvP gear is character-bound when placed into your PvE bank. So don’t do it. Due to said limitations, I was trying to remake my character and since there already was an exact item in my PvP locker, I decided to place it into my PvE bank. Here’s the problem though – when I deleted that character and went to pick up the stuff from the PvE bank, I could NOT withdraw the items because they are bound to my deleted character. The items are now stuck in my bank.
I had similar problem, what I did was withdraw duplicate items from PvP locker with another character, then deposit them from a character I wanted to delete.

Is it a bug or something? I mean when I use Revenge (3rd skill at downing state) you are on a state where you might die after… Was it 5 seconds? So yeah… I do kill the mob but I still die afterwards… sometimes I have to kill more than one mob. :/

The skill itself is awesome but I don’t know how it works at all.
Gives you extra 15s of moving around. If you get a kill during that time, You might get a rally and keep fighting.
Bug is though, if you get enough damage to die before 15s run out, you will die again, right after respawning.

As for GS 5(Rush)… Why not just replace it with Ranger’s GS 3(Swoop)? That one works fine.
Also, there seems to be a number of ninja changes that didn’t get included in patch notes. The ones found so far:
- Bladetrail improved, can actually hit enemies on uneven terrain now, or even follow them down the ledges.
- Healing Surge grants full adrenaline now.

It works. Not perfectly, but works.
First, you can target enemy, then you see them, and then their nameplate.
Still needs a bit of work, but it’s much better than 1-2s of extra stealth.

Fast hands only is broken on the very first swap after you turn it on our load a map. After that it works. Fixing that first time bug is extraordinarily difficult, but we think it is worth it to keep the trait.

I’m pretty sure I see it more often than once per game… And there’s still a matter of random 5sec cooldown applying even when swapping weapons out of combat (usually after respawn). I agree though, trait is still worth it.

@BurrTheKing I doubt it’ld make bow viable in PvP. Without some buff to autoattack projectile speed it’ll keep missing moving targets.

(Please note that I have no interest in PvE, speaking only from PvP point of view here)
Sword (Flurry) – very situational. Low damage, bit of bleeding. The only useful thing about it is AoE immobilize. Can be used as a setup for burst (since you don’t need a full channel for immobilize effect, you can chain it into 100b). It’s hard to catch multiple enemies with it though, unless fighting in a tight place, like Henge or Clocktower. Self root isn’t much of a problem, unless you sit through the whole channel. Overall, medicore skill.
Axe (Eviscerate) – One of the strongest single-hit abilities in game, next to Backstab and Kill Shot, critting up to 10k. Small gap closer makes it a great finishing move.
Hammer (Earthshaker) – Decent damage, stun and a gap closer. Awesome ability, the only downside being very obvious animation.
Greatsword (Arcing Slice) – I completely forgot this skill exists. Completely useless, dealing next to no damage. Couple seconds of Fury is not worth wasting adrenaline on, not when those 3 bars can give you permament 9% crit chance and 12% damage bonus. Not to mention 90% of the time we already have Fury up from Signet of Rage. I agree it needs to be changed. I disagree that swapping it with 100b is a good idea though. GS autoattack is not worth using. Bladetrail has a billion of collision issues, and it’s damage is pretty low (if we do not count bug exploit ofc). Rush is nice single target damage, but very situational. That only leaves Whirlwind Attack as another viable AoE damage skill. Making 100b burst skill would require a serious rework/rebalance of all the other skills. I think simply reworking Arcing Slice would be much easier solution. I like idea of making it a ranged attack, something like Blade Beam from FF7 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEsj2RV9Lq0). Perhaps knocking down/interrupting foes in a line, or creating a combo field.
Mace (Skull Crack) – My experience with mainhand Mace is quite limited, so can’t really say much here. 2 second stun is pretty decent and might work well in a lockdown build paired with Hammer. But on the other hand, if you use Hammer as 2nd weapon, it’s much better to just use Earthshaker.
Longbow (Combustive Shot) – This skill looks nice on paper. Fire field big enough to cover whole capture point sounds interesting, but due to other bow skills being rather weak (and autoattack being completely useless – insanely slow and rarely hitting moving targets), weapon as a whole is not really viable in PvP.
Rifle (Kill Shot) – High damage, long range… That’s it for positives. Long channel, self root, obvious animation… There are dozens of ways to stop this skill from hitting – interrupt, dodge, block, reflect, LoS break, invulnerabilty, death shroud etc etc. As Warrior is usually prime target in tPvP, I doubt you’ld get enough breathing space to fire it often.
