I average about 3 to 4 whispers from gold sellers a month. Keep wasting time sitting in LA instead of out in the field and it will only rise. {:-þ

My 3 wishes would realisticly be;
1) The functionality of the GW1 UI in GW2
2) Some of the cool GW1 armor and weapon looks/skins
3) A LS that opens and keeps open a totally new region in one of the named clouded areas of the map(or an expansion|hint-hint).
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
Brrrrrrrrrrr, Nexon. GW2 in my opinion has/is turned/turning into a who can look the coolest by means of gem store aquisitions for items that again is only my opinion to be not so cool looking for 90% of the items offered for the most outrageous prices, so, I would have to agree with the P2W analogy.

So we have another thread with a lot of
“I have played a lot and did not get one of the rarest drops in the game” threads. So what? I work hard at my job every day, and I haven’t won the lottery either.Get over it.
Your job has NOTHING to do with the lottery, but, pay increases and performance rewards do which I’m sure you have gotten, so, your statement is MOOT.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
Meh, almost 5000 hrs of play and almost 10000 AP and nothing close to a precursor, the best I’ve gotten has been exotics and the best selling for no more than 12g. Time and effort put in this game means NOTHING.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
I remember rares were 0 to 3 and exotics was 0 to 5, all I can do is go hmmmm.
It was 5, i used to get 5 as well for exotics, when i used to play.
Smells like a nerf to me.
I thought so, I know you would have remembered it being 0 to 5 on exotics. Even the GW2 wiki lists rares and exotics as 0 to 3 ecto per salvage now with not one mention about the change, I thought there was a post by the devs about there not being any stealth nerfs? So what was this another feaux pas as it were.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
The worst thing about this issue is they appear to not care in the least about what it’s doing to the community by not even letting us now the issue is being looked into even if it were just to placate us.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
I never got more than 3 from an exotic and I salvage plenty of them. I got over 100 dark matter
The 0 to 5 ecto on exotics was from BEFORE the introduction of Dark Matter and the new items related to Dark Matter.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
I got 5 from exotic.
Recently? There’s some speculation that the upper limit got reduced from 5 – 3 in a recent (last month or two) patch, but you probably already knew that, fellow BLTC forum visitor.
I don’t recall reading any patch notes that mentioned the ecto rate from exotic salvages being lowered and I make it a point to read all patch notes, and, I still am remembering that exotic – ecto salvage WAS 0 to 5(another stealth nerf?). This is really starting to bug me.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
Could be or it was a good dream, oh well.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger

I have been noticing that the best I get from exotics is 0 to 3 when it used to be 0 to 5, when and why did this change?
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
I just bought 75 Toxic Dye kits and received only one of the newly released dyes.
Extrapolating out, this means that the chances of getting a particular one of the new dyes is less than half of the chance of forging a precursor. With every other dye kit, I would have expected to receive about 10-17 of the new dyes out of 75.
…. But RNG is RNG right? maybe I was just unlucky….
The problem with this thinking is that the prices of the new dyes are 4x to 5x as other dyes (for example flame & frost) at this point in the demand cycle. While last time, dyes topped out at 10-15g while dyes were still gemstore purchasable, this time dyes are up to 40-70g. Prices of gemstore items do tend to measure gem prices more so than simply demand. If rarity was stealth nerfed by 4-5x, then my results were not unlucky, but typical.
Circumstantially, the limited evidence seems to suggest that the price of new dyes was stealth raised by a substantial amount without any notification saying so.
Buyer Beware.
That’s how enablers(the game designers) to gambling get the suckers in the flow of things, before we know it there are going to be online gaming gamblers anonymous clinics popping up because of companies like this and just like gambling establishments there is not one iota of concern beyond making the next sucker spin that wheel so they can make that almighty dollar.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
I still get RNG boxes in the form of BLC’s albeit not near as often but they are still very much in the game.

The down-time wasn’t for patching the game it was a MAINTENANCE downtime for physical server maintenance.

I also recall ’ there is no grinding in GW2’ .
You’re missing something. There’s no required grinding in GW2. If you grind for something, you do so on your own free will. And by making that choice to grind, you give up all rights to complain.
And you’re missing the the fact that just starting the game is a grind and it as well is not required since it’s F2P. -LOL
Oh, so what you wanted is to log on and then create a level 80 character with all the best gear right away. WoW such a /facepalm there. If you think playing the game is a grind, then you picked the wrong game. Go play a First Person Shooter like COD, theres no leveling there /roll eyes.
Huh? Just HUH? Where on earth or the heavens did you pull that reply out of my reply. /rolls eyes back atcha.

The game is not ready for a expasion the optimization is terrible lots and lots of bugs etc…. wow is perfect in almost any aspect they can do that i bet if arena net realease a expasion they will lose half of ppl and i dont know if they can afford that
i bet in wow they dont disconnect 4-5 times per day
If this is the case, it will never be ready because with EVERY LS update a plethora of new bugs and optimization issues are introduced on top of making the bugs already in place that have been reported numerous times only to fall on deaf ears even more buggy, as for disconnects, I have had MAYBE 2 or 3 dozen since head-start(over a year of game-play), maybe, JUST MAYBE it’s connection issues on your end.

While we’re at it, they may as well let us stunlock mobs.
Yes they should because many can stun-block us.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
So tell me, when is ArenaNet going to make it so that players can knock off creatures in PvE from platforms and such? It’s really quite unfair that a player can be knocked off a high platform by creatures to their deaths, but players can’t knock them off in return. I just don’t understand the logic behind this double standard.
Before anyone says “It’s so you cant knock off champions and avoid them”, that’s what Unshakeable is for. Most boss encounters don’t have the opportunity to be knocked off. Even with the few that you could potentially knock off a platform, all you have to do is make it so that they automatically reset if they are knocked off to discourage such ‘cheat’ tactics.
My concern isn’t for the champions, it’s for the trash mobs like krait that throw a spear at you and send you flying pretty far back. I was scaling a krait tower, fighting my way up (not just running through) and as I was fighting one, another flanked me and knocked me off the high platform, killing me instantly. This sort of thing is why people try to just run past everything in the first place. There is an abundance of creatures that can send players flying around like lifeless rag dolls, often times to instant death situations like the one I stated earlier. I’m okay with champions and legendaries not being able to be knocked off, but the trash mobs should definitely be subject to the same physics that we do. You guys already have limits on AoE damage and effects (which I also think is bad, but that’s for another discussion), why surround all PvE creatures with invisible walls that only the player can fall through?
I have mentioned this on several occassions and have quit doing so because they obviously don’t care about real balance in game-play.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
What is does is start to reduce the amount of particles and details on effects once you have a certain # of them on screen. This system relies on us manually setting up a value for how noisy any given effect is so if turning it on does nothing in certain areas, we could simply not have set those effects up correctly. A cursory look at the data seems like they are setup, but there might be some caveats in how the Effect LOD system works that keeps it from turning on for those instances because it is an “important” boss. I’ll dig a bit deeper when I can.
Jon
And this is the problem. You (Anet) seem to have an issue with me, client side, controlling what I see on MY monitor. Instead you want to control it from YOUR side.
Give me the options, let me set my preferences, and be done with it. I don’t want an LOD to kick in. I want to hide useless, not needed visual pollution ALL THE TIME.
I don’t use my warriors Signet of rage because of the stupid, annoying golden bubbles of whatever I get from it, full time. I don’t want to see idiotic themed footsteps or annoying weapons spam. That being said, I don’t want to deny others from seeing it if that is their choice.
Client side. Please. Options, Please. The LOD setting does nothing to address the unrelenting, unwanted constant spam of Particle effects not even relating to combat.
Just standing in LA is painful. It’s just like when we suggest a show/hide option for story prompts. Anet responds as if we were teenagers asking for whiskey and car keys.
Wish I could vote this as THE BEST POST/SUGGESTION TO DATE and should be added to a suggestion forum labled must have suggestions that only devs could place said suggestions, along with a few others that have been suggested.

Will we see client side performance improvement? I have a Amd 8350-FX, I seen absolutely no fps difference between my Radeon 6970 and Radeon R9 280×.
This is mainly due to graphics being CPU rendered and not GPU, sadly.

Why is it I can’t send off more than two successful mails without getting hit with suppression while during the trial gold spammers could stand in LA and spam their gold-selling ads for hours under the same name, sometimes several times a minute, without being suppressed?
Because they vary the message, making each one unique, whereas copy/pasting is quickly flagged as spam.
Funny how this works for gold spammers but not for legit players, I have tried this without success; example: LFG invasion – after 2 times, suppressed, change it to Need group for invasion, still suppressed, wait 15 minutes try again and still suppressed, so, something is very wrong, it’s like they don’t care about the player-base.

The past few weeks the RNG has been very evil, I have gotten 3 exotics from the toilet, 1 as a drop and from those 2 ecto and ZERO dark matter. I keep chanting, ESO, ESO, ESO, can’t wait.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
I’m playing GW2 to keep me busy while I wait for ESO. If ESO is bad or not worth the subscription I’ll probably come back to GW2. I am put off by the lack of bug/balance fixes, stuff like no ability to easily swap gear, even not being able to keep a mini in my inventory when I use the option to send collectibles to my bank, etc. Stuff like that which we have been talking about for over a year now. But I don’t feel that AN is under any obligation to tell me they are going to do these things in advance.
But really, does ArenaNet have any obligation to tell us what changes they are going to make? Why does the community feel so entitled? Does it really matter? I mean, you are likely to move on to the latest and greatest game as soon as it’s available anyway regardless of whether AN tells you about upcoming changes in a more definitive way. Or are people just looking for something else to complain about?
There is a fix for the mini-pet issue you relate to, it’s called an invisible bag, nothing in there can be accidently sold and any collectables will stay there.

Yesterday 10/26/13 my guild was doing guild missions and we happened to get Devious Teesa for one of the bounties and were hassled by the champ train in Frostgorge Sound because one of the members had his commander tag on to help other members locate where he was at when Teesa was found, these TWITS need to go.

4- Again no effing way, sorry, there is nothing epic about riding around on a horsey
or whatever else, you want that, get the broom that is already in the game.In fairness, I think this is a little disingenuous. There’s a long tradition of heroes with special mounts, from Gandalf and Shadowfax to Bellerophon and Pegasus. One man’s “stupid horsey” might be another man’s something awesome, as with Odin’s horse, Sleipnir, which had eight totally absurd and impractical legs. You might not like horses in video games or feel they make a character cooler, but I really have to object to anyone saying Sigurd riding around on Grani isn’t “epic.”
Might as well just say “cool” if we’re going to discount magic horses, which are roughly as common in the epic genre as magic swords.
Ok, here is a VALID REASON to not have mounts, that being many would only use them to annoy people by parking said horsey right on top of an NPC making it a chore to target said NPC in order to interact with it, much like many do with the summoned merchants in LA by placing one directly on top of the banker or other interact-able NPC there, you see where this is going.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
The problem with dungeons is that they are not scaled like open world events are in that for open world events the more people the tougher the event but in dungeons where you can only have 5 in the event it is just as hard at level 35 as it is at level 80 which is why MOST won’t touch a dungeon till they are 80. Dungeons should be scaled to the highest player level entering for this very reason.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
After playing for a while there are a few things that don’t feel right to me. Or that doesn’t make 100% sense in my view.
First off let me say that I am loving this game so far, I plan on playing for a long time! For everyone one of these negatives, I could find 10 more positives to replace it.
Things that don’t seem right to me:
1) Gear. I have yet to see a level 80 who’s gear stood out to me saying, “That dude looks like he could own some crap!” Besides a few Warriors who looked cool, the gear in general doesn’t look that “epic” to me. For a level I am putting so much time/effort into getting, along with gear that I put a huge amount of time in for. I’d like the gear to look more fancy. Like the player is BA, or if you saw him in WvW you’d think twice about attacking him.
2) Zone level scaling. I get this one, you can always go back to old area’s and play them like you are still that level. Again, this takes away that “epic” feel though. Other MMO’s I remember playing, you’d beat an area and come back at max level and feel that power of being able to crush things that once gave you so much trouble. It felt like your character that you are role playing actually “advanced” and grew as a character. Things that once were hard, are no longer. Showing how far you have come. You never get to feel like you have a powerful character, things are always a struggle.
3) No Open World Pvp. I get that you don’t want spawn camping or there is no point. However, I loved that feeling while you were leveling and wondering who was going to be around a corner you turned. You truly felt like your life was in danger. Or after you have been killed, a higher level came to your aid. I get there are no fractions but maybe have guild vs guild? Example: If you are in a feud with another guild, you can kill them in your world. Guilds battling guilds, in open world. This game is called Guild Wars?
4) Mounts. Again, I get that they can take away from the world. I DO NOT support flying mounts. I want the world to still feel big, flying mounts take from that. I also get that you have Way Points. Mounts though, added to an epic feel and gave you something to progress for. That feeling when you finally reached a high enough level and enough money to get your mount. Another “epic” feel factor.
These are the main things I feel are lacking. The biggest one is probably gear. It has no epic look or BA feel to it.
Again, I love this game so far! For these small annoyances I could make a list 10x bigger about things that I love! Just wanted to see if anyone found these things similar. Thanks for your input ahead of time! :-)
1- You think armor is horrible now, wait for the EPICALLY horrid ascended crap
that has been shown to be released soon.
2- The zone level scaling is just fine, I absolutely STOMP mobs in lower levels
because ONLY your level is lowered not your armor and weapons which
significantly counters this slight disadvantage.
3- In all that is holy, no, all we need are people running around in open PvE wanting
to duel, disrupting peoples gaming with duel requests only to be harassed for not
wanting to duel.
4- Again no effing way, sorry, there is nothing epic about riding around on a horsey
or whatever else, you want that, get the broom that is already in the game.

GW2 is turning into a F2P game than it’s original B2P model, just take the recent Instant-trait reset item, a feature which was there almost since the beginning in GW1.
Guild Wars 1 had nothing like the trait reset item, because you could not change your traits anywhere, you had to go back to a city to retrait (which is exactly what you need to do in Guild Wars 2 if you do not want to use the trait reset item.)
Your right, it is BETTER it has BUILD TEMPLATES you can choose from, so what if you could only do it in a town or outpost where EVERYONE should do these things to get ready for the area you’re going to.
I don’t understand the comparison of build templates and the trait reset item. The two are totally different things.
All a build template did was instantly change your current skills and attributes to a combination you’d set up previously. It still had all the same limitation of doing it manually – you couldn’t change them in instances or PvP maps, you couldn’t get access to skills you hadn’t unlocked and purchased for that character….it just saved you some clicking and the hassle of remembering all your builds.
The trait reset item on the other hand doesn’t save any of your builds. When you use it it’s just like resetting your traits at a trainer – you still have to reallocate the points and set your traits manually. What it does do is allow you to do that anywhere (outside of PvP I assume) instead of going back to a town.
If you think everyone should be setting their build in town before starting whatever it is they’re going to do then the trait reset item is irrelevant. You could do that from launch and still can do it today.
The Attributes in Gw1 is very much akin to the Traits system in GW2 just done differently.

What is funny is that I see multiple people say. I spend (a lot of) money on gems but don’t like the way the game is going now so might stop playing / spengin money.. The way the game is going now is strongly linked to the gem-store as its being build around the whole idea of how to get people to buy gems. And indeed thats not good for the game.
So basically buy spending so much money you guys made the game go in the direction it is going now. Hopefully you learned your lesson. There is no bad thing in giving money however, better do that for expansions so you know the game will go in the correct direction in stead of spending it on a cash-shop resulting in a game focusing itself around that with all negative side-effects that come with it.
For your information, I stopped spending when the content was not to my liking, I haven’t spent anything for the last 2-3 moths or so, since Zephyr Sanctum.
Yeah thats very smart of you but you are aware that you help them to go into this wrong direction? Thats all I am saying. Some do understand that some don’t. It’s important that people do understand that.
And some just don’t care.

Ah this is true, however for some reason people will have arguments with you that the tool was supposed to be used to find groups fast not to find specific groups.
