Nice video, hopefully this doesn’t get nerfed like all other farms.
It would be nice but now that the word is out, give it a week tops more than likely, MUCH SOONER you can expect your fun to to be sucked dry in lieu of more useless gem-store items.

For me, my favorite part of GW1 was vanquishing because I could revisit all of the areas I went through with a new purpose. In GW2, I feel like there is a massive world out there with absolutely no reason for me to go. I also like the GW1 dungeons because they were challenging but soloable. I don’t usually like playing with other people in organized groups too much because I can’t do that casually. For example, on GW1, I could jump right into Frostmaw’s Burrows if I wanted without the headache of trying to organize a team.
Right now I’ve been doing a lot of SoloQ because my server isn’t the greatest at WvW, and to be honest, I don’t much like WvW because of food, perplexity runes, unstandardized gear, etc. So I stick with spvp where a little more skill is needed. Now if ANET allowed everyone to pvp in WvW with the free runes and gear like the pvp system in GW1, it would be a lot different for me. Then I would be able to gear up my toons solely for pve and not have to double grind to outfit them for WvW and also for dungeons and open world pve.
All in all GW2 is a great game, but the more I play it, the more I realize it isn’t for me. I know some people didn’t like it, but my favorite part of GW2 was exploring new areas, getting vistas, completing maps, and stumbling onto jumping puzzles. But now that I’ve gone through all of the open world, what once was a huge game is now rather limited for me. I wouldn’t mind going back to some of my favorite GW2 areas if I only had a real incentive to do it.
IMO, hard mode vanquishing in GW1 was THE SHIZNITZ.

Chakrams were actually a focus skin back in GW1. Wouldn’t mind seeing some be brought back.
Chakrams in GW1 are Dagger skins not focus as in the Split Chakrams(http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Split_Chakrams).

I’m not.
Gw2 is gathering dust.
And sadly, I found it really easy to walk away from.
Apparently you didn’t walk away from it as you are still here posting. If i left a game completely I would not even bother posting period. It sounds hypocritical.
Both games have their merits but i cant see myself going back once I did everything GW 1 had to offer. I have plenty games to play besides this one though, mostly mmos themselves, so I’m at no loss if I take a few weeks off of this.
As for attachment I felt more attached to my characters here than I did in GW 1. There was no RP guilds as far I knew. In GW 1 I pretty much got looks and stares.
Notorious I think he got you there because the #1 MMO to play is the GW2 forums. -LOL
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
Missed my first 2 days of GW2 since release of AA ready for my 3rd day and having a blast. Type at ya later.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
If GW2 is not working then why has it out lasted 2 major mmorpg that play a lot like it? GW1 at the end of the day was not a true mmorpg it was an online game with co-op GW2 is a full open world mmorpg there are just truth to dealing with that type of game vs just the simple “also has online play” type of game.
What 2 major MMO’s? And GW1 is still the #1 game that’s 10X better than GW2 even if it’s NOT an MMO.

This has been an issue for almost a year now without a fix, just one of the several such seemingly non-fixable bugs in the game.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
All I did was click the item I wanted and then clicked the purchase button, I didn’t select anything that would have made it an offer.
I have noticed it defaults to the lowest offer and not the lowest seller.
EDIT: Just noticed Devs caught it was typing my reply while Devs posted. -LOL

William, try to click in a zerg…
I can click a guy and an another one at 5 meter away gets selected. :o
ALSO, William needs to understand that for MANY the locked target(using the CTRL+T) gets dropped most times, so, still an issue. The targeting in this game is abysmal as are many other things in this game.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
Lol. Anet will never roll back. They do not care what vet players think.
^^^^EXACTLY THIS!!!!
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
There are SOME with HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS in gold(I have seen the in-game videos), sooooo, there a few making tons of gold farming/TP flipping.
I sure hope you weren’t confused by a lot of the preview-server videos that goes up once in a while, where they’ll have excessive amounts of Gold for no other reason than to test things out. Or the devs videos on that same server. The “test server” one might also call it.
Nope, actual in-game footage(I forget name, but, it’s on youtube).
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
What? Where is this magical farm that will give enough gold to buy an expansion pack using gold? Because I need a lot of gold.for my legendary. And I don’t have the money to turn gems into gold for it. I thought this game didn’t have any good gold farms and the best way to get gold is to open your wallet.
So why not put an expansion up in the gem store?

No mention of a change to the “Target Nearest Enemy” hotkey function was noted in the release notes as far as I saw.
But it has been changed.
Now, I’m targeting things that are BEHIND me or otherwise out of line of sight rather than things that ARE visible. This means I often go into combat only to find myself shooting off to some other direction with a gap closer skill because something way off to one side I didn’t even know was there has now become slightly closer than the mob in front of me.
I didn’t think this function could get more wonky, but it has.
Why not just remove yellow (and white) mobs and inanimate objects from the possible targets list? THIS is something people have asked for for months, not the ability to attack targets they can’t even see.
Couple this with the current implementation of Autotarget that essentially causes you to target AND attack in one move if your current #1 skill is in range even with skills that have absolutely no offensive aspect, and the usual issues with click-targeting often being nearly impossible to manage, and since this patch I’m sometimes finding myself entirely out of control, wasting skills on passive inanimate objects, moas, and things I can see but sometimes can’t even reach taking priority over actual threats.
Alright, you dev type guys need to have a seat and think about this. Remove yellow and white mobs and passive inanimate objects as potential targets with the hotkey function. Players can target these at their leisure as they are not a threat. Better yet, let us select tickboxes in the options page to decide for ourselves whether we want moas, rats, and boxes of vegetables to be considered threat-worthy enough to be included in our valid targeting list.
You need to revert/remove this change that causes us to target things that are not in our field of view ESPECIALLY things that are behind us.
You need to detach the Autotarget function from ALL non-target-requiring skills. This is never required, and probably extremely rarely desired (some people may have figured out ways to use this funky effect, most only want to Autotarget something when they hit an offensive weapon/utility skill).
Now, some people probably think I should be using tab targeting. I don’t care for tab targeting except when dealing with champs. Autotargeting and Target Nearest are functions that are available but flat out just don’t work right and can be corrected, or at least reigned in so they’re more reliable/predictable.
Comments welcome of course, but I’d be highly interested in examples that can illustrate how these functionalities I advocate changing are of actual use/benefit.
tldr: Target Nearest now targets things out of field of view, including directly behind you. Inanimate objects and yellow/white mobs are still in the targeting options list. Autotarget option setting still autoATTACKS targets within range even when using entirely non-offensive skills. These things need to be fixed as quick targeting things has become even more unpredictable than before. Tab targeting is not under scrutiny here. Though yellow mobs/objects should be removed from all one-key targeting functions by tickbox option.
There is no SPECIFIC MENTION of “Target nearest” being messed with, but, THEY DID revamp the “world boss targeting”, so, it may have bugged the whole targeting system in general, which is normal for this game.
Here is the targeting change from the patch notes.
“Improved world boss targeting:
Increased tab selection priority for world bosses.
Improved in-world click selection for world bosses.
World bosses can now be selected by clicking on the corresponding health bar in the event panel.
Increased automatic deselection range for world bosses.”

Asuran species got stupid?
Nonono. You got it all wrong. They dumbed down their starting zone to CONVINCE the other races that they got stupid. In the meantime, they have perfected golems. Series 7 attack golem on Asura characters does insane amounts of damage now. So, we don’t have any reason to believe that the Asura have gotten any dumber.
I think it’s a ploy to take over Tyria. ASURA THE RAT RACE!!!!!!
There, I fixed that for you. -LOL
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
Show me ONE existing player that has/had any intention of making a new character that now thinks ALL these changes are for the better….just one.
Well, I’m one? Although all is an encasing word that is inaccurate. I find the general principle of the update to have a solid foundation, because it’s definitely made my leveling experience faster. There are some things, such as skill acquisition and the introduction of utility skills, that should be reverted – but expecting everything to have a perfect reception without community feedback is an expectation for the insane.
This game IS insane, soooo, yeah. -LOL
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
Vayne will find an excuse for everything…
Yup, looks like.
How, exactly, is what I said incorrect.
People love using words like excuse, because it makes someone who’s correct look wrong. What I said is accurate. Not being able to gather for your first hour isn’t likely to much affect your game…and you can gather if you know how.
Not sure how anyone can misconstrue that as an excuse.
He may be talking about your little condescending remarks such as, this one;
“Maybe it’s me but I’m not seeing a big deal here. Are you saying not harvesting copper and softwood for the first hour is going to prevent them from getting a legendary?”
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
As of this post it seems to be fixed now with the very most recent build.

You could just give your friend the activation code. You don’t have to give him/her the physical game.
Chris
I did this for a friend too, but I used my paypal debit card lol
i would use paypal, but i have access to physical money only, so im just gonna go to a gamestop and buy the physical version. i can just get the code from inside the box and basically just discard the rest, since i already have the game. thanks for your help guys
Why not just SNAIL MAIL the whole boxed set to your friend?
EDIT: NVM, i’m forgetting it’s for overseas.
He can still send the box overseas even if his friend recieved the key by another means. It’s always nice to have the box and such (IMO).
I was under the impression that the US copy was/is somewhat different than the overseas copy, but, if not then yeah, send the whole thing.

Continually crashes on trying to start since last build.
Returned error report to ANET via the windows error reporting.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
OK, I just got the go ahead to post this as a temporary fix.
Please download that file from this link and save it to your PC: https://s3.amazonaws.com/gw2cdn/client/repro/Gw2_38697_proxy-test.zip
Once downloaded, please extract the contents into your Guild Wars 2 folder. This should ask you to overwrite the file “Gw2.exe” and a folder named “bin.” When asked, make sure you agree to overwrite these files.
Once done, please “Right-click” on ’Gw2.exe" and select “Run as Administrator.”
If you have already uninstalled Guild Wars 2, try the following:
Create a new folder on your hard drive, something like C:\Games\Guild Wars 2.
Navigate to this location and extract the zip file we sent you previously into this folder.
Once done, you should see a file “gw2.exe” and a folder “Bin.”
Right-click on “Gw2.exe” selecting “Run as Administrator” and it should start the installation process, using the new, updated launcher.
Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any additional issues, questions or concerns.
Regards,
Brian S.

That is what mine is and was set at Huy , but, my problem is solved and now working fine, just waiting on a reply from them to see if it is ok to share the steps they had me take is ok since it involves downloading a “zip” file containing an updated Gw2.exe and some updated files for Guild Wars 2’s new “Black Lion Trading Company.”

This accusation gets tossed around a lot – that certain people who post such high praise for Anet’s decisions might be rewarded in some way. I haven’t reached a decision on this yet, so I thought the best approach is just to come right out and ask.
Will someone at ANet please tell the rest of us if you reward certain people for their forum comments? If you could just issue a flat out denial then that might diminish the number of accusations, especially right now.
I don’t believe they do even though there are a few blind White Knights.
And therein lies the problem. Anyone who doesn’t agree with you is blind or a white knight or both.
Anyone who uses those terms, or hater for that matter, is doing themselves a disservice.
Exact same thing can be said for the White Knights.
No,. not at all.
I don’t call you a hater, or try to dismiss what you say by labeling you. You try to dismiss what I say by labeling me.
I might disagree with what you say, or more often how you say it, but I don’t use a single word to describe you that denotes blindness, or even bias.
When have I ever used the word blind in relation to what you’ve said?
See right now you are being blind in your answer(think really hard about it), and to my recollection I have never seen you call anyone blind or a hater but I have seen you blindly dismiss/discredit other peoples problems with the game as immaterial.
Maybe I didn’t do it “blindly”. Frankly, I find the way you phrase things offensive. It’s like you have a monopoly on seeing things, and I don’t see them that way, so I’m doing it blindly.
You’ve never seen me blindly do anything. You just call it that to try to discredit me.
As you also do as well, it all boils down to personal opinion and the thinking yours or mine is better, if you find that offensive my friend then you need a thicker skin.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
Are you by any chance using Hola? I was having the same problem and went to uncheck the “automatically detect settings” in my Internet Options -> Connections and it would always re-check itself. Turns out Hola was messing with the settings.
Having to ask you WTF Hola is will say, nope not using Hola whatever that is. Google here I come. -LOL
EDIT: I use the Slimjet browser, so, it’s not that.

Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
Well 2 days now and have HEARD NOTHING back from “them” in 24 of those 48 hours I have now waited to get back in game. Gather around, my children, and I will tell you a story. Another story about Forum Posters.
There is another kind of Forum Poster that I forgot to mention. This kind of Forum Poster is the worst kind. This kind posts on the forum without checking his facts, and goes and calls other innocent Forum Posters dumb.
Again, my children, don’t be one of them.
Why didn’t you answer the question RIGHT BEFORE MINE that this babble alluded to or do you just spout without doing what you yourself is babbling about here? Again, how do you turn it off? Your WHITE KNIGHT robe is showing.

Maybe this will get their attention.
I seriously doubt it since “they” are nothing more than a puppet on strings being controlled by another entity.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
Nothing is going right and I can’t enjoy the game anymore. This patch is a living nightmare and an insult to the intelligence of every player.
Freakin’ right it’s an insult. This game was great when I started playing nearly two years ago, but now… it’s like the dragon corruption got to ANet’s staff. It’s a mindless grind game for 9 year olds.
And, if we make a comment about “them” that even remotely sounds insulting to “them” we get infractions, it’s time we infract “them”, talk about double standards and thin skins.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
Hey, I’m not implying I don’t know how brainstorming works. I’m just pointing out there’s a pretty big difference between the constant “your opinions are really important to us” PR and the usual “your opinions don’t matter because metrics are OP and forum people are too hardcore” excuse. If people on this forum were as disconnected from the overall player base as some would let you believe, brainstorming with them would be pointless or even harmful.
By the way, in this case “we” is everyone on this forum, including you, Vayne.
See the thing is, Anet may well care about what “we” think, but if we are divided then who does Anet listen to.
Let’s say you have a son and a daughter. It’s time to go out for dinner. You ask okay, where do you guys want to eat?
Son: Let’s go to McDonalds.
Daughter: OMG No. That’s gross. Let’s get pizza.
Son: You always want pizza. Can we have chinese?
Daughter: I dont’ like chinese. Indian?
Son: The spices make me sick.So you care about what they think they’re your kids. But eventually you say, I’m taking you to a dinner. You can each get what you want.
Anet probably cares what we have to say but we’re seldom all on the same page and sometimes, they have other data which suggests that certain loud demographics might not be the majority.
All you did with this ludicrous reply was to make some people hungry. -LOL
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger

“In most games, you go out, and you have really fun tasks, occasionally, that you get to do, and the rest of the game is this boring grind to get to the fun stuff. ‘I swung a sword. I swung a sword again. Hey! I swung it again.’ That’s great. We just don’t want players to grind in Guild Wars 2. No one enjoys that. No one finds it fun.” ~ A Sword Swinging Backpeddler
And people wonder why Anet won’t talk to them. A quote from a four year old video is still being quoted today and used as a weapon of sorts.
Anet should just shut up and stop saying anything. It might come back to haunt them.
Anet was still referring people to this video up to the launch of the game. if it was no longer relevant they probably shouldn’t have done that.
THIS^^^^TY, Fernling.1729 for stating what Vayne and his cronies refuse to acknowledge.

Mine won’t either – all it says is “initializing” – and then it disappears. Happened a bit after they logged us all out to do some work on the game. :/
I got same problem like you… After “initializing” and the menu banner disappears and NOTHING Happen but it’s still drain CPU and making my pc slow.
It’s happen after the september feature pack… Arena Net please fix it so we can play again. :/
Good luck getting it back up, I uninstalled, tried re-installing and still no go(it won’t even INSTALL since this patch), soooo, it may just STAY UNINSTALLED now. Thanks guys for ruining the game for many.

Anet should just shut down these forums all together.
Anything and everything they say or do is met by angry, foaming at the mouth, insults and verbal throat jabs from the same people over and over again, who think they know better then everyone else…
I wish “THEY” WOULD shut down the forums as they are useless, illogically un-heeded unless it’s something “they” want to see in the game anyway and GW1 did just fine without a forums.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
Here’s an idea. Why don’t you just turn auto attack on? Then you only have to press it once and then just sit back and watch as your character swing his sword. And then swing his sword. And then swing his sword. And swing his sword again until the mob is dead.
Sometimes I think you pick the strangest things to complain about.
