Regardless of what that something is, I personally think the biggest issue here is the definition of an achievement. Is an achievement doing something difficult and overcoming a challenge or repeating an easy task for weeks/months?

Meaningful, challenging content with character build diversity and an alt friendly environment is what will build a passionate GW2 community.

Grinding, meaningless, easy repetitive tasks will chase everyone away.

Not necessarily. Some people enjoy farming(grinding to some), skill-appropriate(easy to some) tasks.

Just as what one person finds repetitive(boring), and game-breaking, another may find challenging(frustrating) content game-breaking, as well.

You will get no response from an in-game bug report. I think it tells you that on the form. Only email to CS gets a personal response, or sometimes Devs post in threads.

Often revisiting every city and map solves the problem. The wiki may be helpful for all the newly-added PoIs and Waypoints. Good luck. =)

Depends on where you bought it from and how you bought. If you purchased the box, some stores have a price guarantee, that if you find it at a lower cost within a set amount of time, they’ll match it and give you the difference back. Even some online purchases will do this… All you can do it check

Obviously, someone from China has your password and Account name. You should scan your computer for keyloggers and change the passwords to your account and email. It probably would not hurt to seek help from CS to change the email associated with your account. Good luck.

The most bothering thing, that I got that for "The Nightmare is Over " achievement, the Antitoxin Injector back item skin, what can not be re-acquired or purchased .

As a level 2, you may not have unlocked all 5 skills associated with dual pistols, yet. As you continue to use your pistols, the skills will unlock.

For me, I wouldn’t really want to ‘win’ this game, as that would mean ‘game over’. I’m not interested in PvP, which is the only place in-game I would think ‘winning’ has any purpose. I just like playing the game because it offers enjoyment to do so. I don’t really care what others’ stats are, as I don’t plan on fighting them, and what they wear is of little interest to me, because unless they are standing still in LA or somewhere like that, I don’t really notice. Lol, I rarely notice even if the are standing in LA. Occasionally, someone’s color scheme or something might catch my eye, but 99% of the time, it doesn’t. Only my gear really means much to me, and that’s just the looks. Silly me! =P

Dang, I wish all those people that want to Pay2Win would do so. Then the exchange of Gold to Gems rate would drop considerably. Sadly, it seems few take advantage of said P2W. =(

Ahh, I see. You are concerned that others spent their glory on gifts, and you did not. I can see how that would be upsetting.

I spent some glory on gifts, …today. As we needed gift for the daily. I wish I had one of those nodes that give quartz, then I could have an unlimited supply…but sadly, I do not. Some things we get in-game, and some things we miss out on. =(

100% true but my focusing in the glory is because I do not have a problem with gifts acquired in the new event via farming the event (the ugly sweaters and such). The problem I have with glory is because a lot of us were sitting on big piles of it and did not even know what to do with it until this. All of the sudden people got an insane return in their accumulated glory with the charged quartz return.

I’m not sure I understand. You say you had lots of glory that you didn’t know what to do with until you found out you could spend it on gifts. Gifts that could be had a multiple of ways. And now you are upset because you got too many charged quartz from said gifts? I guess you could always destroy them if you don’t want them. I don’t know.

You can always get a bigger frame and mat them. Either make the mat yourself or perhaps there are ready-made mats that size.

Have you changed any of your traits, or were they changed with the patch?

I noticed my Mad King costume is now bugged as well, as far as combat clothes and/or Costume Brawl-combat. This started around the Halloween update, I believe.

Anything soulbound to a character deleted remains soulbound to that character and is unusable to any other character.

There are, however, was to make some items account-bound by transmuting them onto white items.

I would enjoy quests something like the Black Moa Chick quest. Finishing it, and helping others do so, was fun and made me feel special. =)

Well, according to this, https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/27658858-Game-Regions Australia can register either version, so I would imagine you are allowed to buy either version. You might use the link at the bottom of the page to contact CS and ask them about it, telling them you would prefer to connect to the EU database servers, and then send the code along to your family member. It might be worth a try.

1. We didn’t want another tier of gear; you guys knew that and implemented it anyway, so now we’re stuck with it.

Players rarely ever want their pet class nerfed, but its still necessary to the health of the game to do it from time to time. Consensus and Balance are distantly related on the best days and full-blown adversaries on more than a few.

While I have some issues with the specifics of Ascended acquisition, it’s not that hard to recognize the pressures at work that convinced them that the concept needed to be introduced to the game.

Keep in mind that prior to the release of the first Ascended items, the single most efficient way to advance your character was play the Trading Post. Full Stop. If you spent your time doing DEs or running dungeons you were a serf laboring in the fields in the service of your Trading Post betters. It was soul-sucking. Nothing you could do swinging your sword came close, and even today most people have this obsession with amassing gold when doing so mostly fattens you up to get fleeced at the market. The range of rewards that must be earned rather than bought is still astonishingly thin.

If anything the current crafting-only model of weapons and armor is a bit of a backslide towards ‘TP-uber-alles’. I sincerely hope that the currencies of heroism like skill points, karma, and various tokens get moved back to center stage as the means and the measure of characters’ mechanical advancement ~ vertical or horizontal.

I really just set out to summarize the thread to see if anything new was actually being said about vertical progression, or if we were just going in circles, this far into the discussion about it. And, truly, without more meaningful feedback than “Interesting ideas” there’s not much more that we can do with the discussion, in my opinion. Regardless, that was basically the first sort of comment that was picked up and addressed in the thread.

I’m in total agreement about consensus vs. balance, but I think it’s clear that balance isn’t being discussed here, on many levels.

I’m all for progress, and there’s truly no way to please everyone, but given the possibilities for vertical progression in a game like GW2, it seems like a middle ground other than “gear treadmill” might have been a more viable solution.

There is a region-lock only in so much that you must have to correct version for the area that you plan to register your account. Once, registered, though, you can play anywhere in the world. Australia is, indeed, part of the NA region, and any copies of the game you purchase through NCSoft will be NA versions and your brother will not be able to register that copy from Italy. Perhaps, you could send him the price of the game as a gift, and let him purchase it himself. Good luck.

Edit: Come to think of it, some countries outside the EU and the North American continent were given the choice of which version to buy. I am not sure about Australia, I know ZA was given the choice. Have you tried changing the language in your browser to see if you can affect which version comes up from the website? Might be worth a try…..

No one said you won’t be able to get your Ascended armor and/or weapons some day using a method like you use to get jewels(trinkets). In fact, that is precisely what the CDI thread is discussing and deciding right now.

I don’t see how ‘the whole thing’ changed after one year with Ascended armor. Each release of Ascended gear started off in a particular area. Remember Fractals and rings?

If you don’t want to spend 10 minutes crafting each day you play, you don’t have to. What you will have to do is wait for other methods of obtaining armor to be released. Other than through drops, of course. Good luck. =)

One tip I have seen to deal with this is to turn off post-processing. That seems to work, but, of course, you will no longer see the effects of alcohol consumption, etc.

Ok, so what button did you click while rushing off to help your brother? Maybe that information will help solve the mystery.

At the character select screen there are, at most, 3 buttons to choose from….Play, Create, Delete. Were you trying to Play a character in your rush to leave, and hit Delete instead? Or Create a character? Did you, perhaps, leave the game running, unattended, while you were away helping your brother? Maybe someone else, then, with access available, deleted your character.

I have to say, I’ve never heard of anyone mentioning a character being deleted when selecting Play, nor of a character being deleted without affirming that choice by typing in said character’s name.

Each character will receive a birthday gift on their 1 year anniversary(birthday). Your account receives nothing on its anniversary. When you have a character 365 days old, it will receive its birthday gift. Hope that clears it all up. =)

In the future, should you forget your password, yet have it saved in your browser, just check your browser’s tools. You can access all saved passwords there. Good luck.

Type /age in chat to see how old your account and your character is.

I think events like Scarlet invading would be even less populated than they are now, if there were no waypoints. To me, it sounds like advocating for less content…and people are already complaining about a lack of content. /shrug

I have now done every unrepeatable achievement and a few times a repeatable achievement, but i dont get a higher achievement count than 16. So now I only can do repeatable achievements, but it says that i only have done 16 achievements. Does anybody know how I can get more achievements?

You get 1 AP each day when you do the Wintersday Daily Achievement.
