Couple things and suggestions:
- as mentioned by Chris only one CDI overall at a time (if this means more and better participation from Anet)
- for each new CDI Anet should send out an ingame mail announcement, something like “our new CDI is about [topic], we are going to discuss this because of [concerns], if you want to help improve the game come visit [forumsection]”
- the devs from Anet that will take part in the CDI should introduce themselfs in extra posts following the starting one (their thoughts on the topic, what they have to do with it)
- for a better overview as the thread grows i would suggest linking every dev reply in the first post, e.g. http://forum.tibia.com/forum/?action=thread&threadid=4015891 (it think you need to copy&paste the link manually to work)
even if you are late to the party, just by checking the first post you get an easy overview what topics have already been addressedI think we should continue to discuss the CDI cadence for example 1 at a time or a hybrid of this and the original model.
The rest of your points are really good and i think we should probably do them unless anyone has any concerns?
Note i would have to check the logistics around the email idea, but more exposition of the initiative would be great.
Chris
Taking Nike’s suggestions to get posts read, perhaps.
I still do not understand the purpose of having one CDI thread at a time, when you have stated a few times that each thread is ‘manned’ by different Devs. I thought you had stated previously the reason for ‘one at a time’ was to allow more time for Devs to focus their attention on each thread and not be spread too thin over the three. If each thread has its own Devs, why would they be spread over the three threads?
I’m not sure there is a lot of advantage in having to wait 3 to 6 weeks for each topic. (So far, each thread of this type – those created by Devs for feedback – has seemed to stay open longer than originally intended.) The length of some threads also may discourage participation from those ‘coming late to the party’, or even those who haven’t ‘kept up’.
I noticed that at the beginning of this thread when we were discussing which topic would be next, it seemed most replies favored ‘Dev choice’, but ‘next in line’ was chosen (by a Dev). I guess that worked out, in an odd way, but when Devs choose to implement something other than popular-demand, it would be nice to hear the reason why…if possible.
Oh, and for those of us who have missed it, or failed to understand, could you give a synopsis of what we (Devs and players) have learned and/or decided on so far from all the previous and current CDI threads. I, personally, feel a little lost. Thank you for your time.
I am curious. Was there a particular reason you thought this reward would be different than others earned from metas? As for ‘difficulty’, I thought this meta’s achievements were earned more quickly than many of the others.
It would be nice if we were to get Costume Makers and Festival Hat makers, again. Very nice. =)
Had you already finished the pre-requisite: Tower Antitoxin Injector?
You must kill the Hybrid and then inject the antitoxin before the other two achievements (Tower Hybrid Master [no dying] and Tower Hybrid Slayer [just killing him]) are unlocked.
I will probably be swatted down, and infracted, but….
It’s almost always Nike. Even if someone else proposed nearly the same ideas…..it’s Nike.
I give up. =(
I’m not sure you answered any of my questions…..
But, good luck on your suggestion. =)
Sweet Revenge only increases the chance that you may rally off of Vengeance, which has a 25% chance to work. So, with Sweet Revenge, maybe a 50% chance? (100% increase)
Ack! I forgot and used potions in the tower, last time. Maybe that’s why I suddenly started dying!
Of course, I gave one to my guildie, and he didn’t die. So….maybe not. =/
So I bought a Grandmaster manual for my level 64 warrior and I can’t use it. When I try the sound effect goes but nothing happens.
2 gold down the toilet apparently. I don’t want to buy a second one because if that one fails it’ll be 4g down the toilet.
The required level for use is Level 60. It may state that on the manual.
Ooops, I have number dyslexia, evidently. Have you already bought and used the Master Training manual? You need use that one first.
’Grandmaster’s Training Manual is a trait manual that gives access to the grandmaster tier of traits, allowing up to 30 trait points in any single trait line. Players must first unlock the master tier with a Master’s Training Manual before this manual can be used.’
I read many of the Dev posts, being a fan of the Dev Posts sub-forum. I often see them remark that some question or topic is out of their area of expertise and thus, have little or nothing to respond with.
My impression, also, was that the three CDI threads were attended by Devs whose area of game or content concerned that particular CDI thread. I’m not saying other Devs couldn’t post their opinions, but it seemed as though, mostly, the threads were answered by Devs who were associated with the development of that thread’s main topic.
So…I question why there would need to be only one CDI thread active at a time, giving the reason for this mode to be so Devs would not be split between threads. I can understand Chris and Colin having input for each thread as Game Directors, etc., but not so much the other Devs.
Perhaps, the Leads for each area could be the ones to summarize in the threads, and send those that may be spread too thin their synopses, and those game-wide Devs could then follow-up where they felt the need or desire to do so.
Maybe I don’t understand how it all works, though….
Edit: Also, aren’t there CDI Process Evolution threads in each of the 3 sub-forums? Why do we discuss WvW’s thread or PvP’s thread here? Is there no one there to discuss their threads and upcoming topics?

I’m not sure this instance would not have the same problems as say, Fractals, or the Tower.
If the level is set to whatever level you previously completed, within a few weeks, people would find it hard to locate others to play the beginning levels.
If you must re-do the beginning levels each time to advance, people would find it boring and repetitive to get to the higher levels.
If it scaled, to whom in the instance does it scale? The new people? The veterans of the instance?
Does it work like WvW and everyone is scaled to 80? Would only certain servers be allowed in, or is it every person for themselves? Are there allies in the instance, or are you all alone, except for your party of 5, should you have one?
I am not sure, exactly, how this instance would work, and still be ‘open world’.
Leveling in this game is extremely easy. It has a linear (not exponential) levelling curve, meaning that every level is roughly equal in difficulty to the last because the XP rewards for everything go up even on the low level maps or when downscaled. Furthermore, eveyrthing in this game gives XP, so you can level any way that you like.
Please, if you think GW2 is hard to level in, don’t ever play any other MMO where you actually have to grind for your levels. You will want to enter a mental institution after killing something like 1,000 mobs for a single level in Everquest-style games…
P.S. You can level via WvW, Living Story or Champ trains if you prefer it fast. You can also eat food and utility consumeables for 15% bonus XP, get 30% more bonus XP from the laurel merchants daily, and get 50% bonus XP from boosters, and that’s not even counting guild banners or guild-wide boosts.
Okay where are these food buffs for someone at level 20ish? Can I get them at that level range? Can I also get the xp buff from the laurel guys without any laurels? Or are these laurels account wide?
And I have been in guilds and didn’t notice any xp buffs. Are those only from very advanced guilds?
You can buy the rice food buff at any level for very little karma. Laurels are, indeed, account-wide. A guild does not need be ‘very’ advanced to have the ability to put out XP buffs. You need not be in any guild to take advantage of Guild Banners placed out in the world. Also, XP buffs are somewhat common from AP chests, Black Lion Chests (you can easily farm keys), and elsewhere. There are also XP buffs on other consumables easily crafted by many of the disciplines.

You can contact Customer Support about getting a gem reimbursement for your unwanted Sickles. Top of Page – Support – Submit a Request. Good luck.
It’s a long-standing bug, that the last 1 or 2 Hints just won’t complete. There is a long thread about it here in the sub-forum.

Fortunately, spending more money in the Gem Shop makes no one a ‘special snowflake’. ArenaNet is better than that. Your ticket will be responded to, once they take the time to close all duplicates and research your issue.
If you have heard nothing after 72 hours, you can post your ticket number in the appropriate Sticky. Good luck.
If you truly want to preview the items, change chat from /map to /guild to /say to….
No excessive messaging problems then. =)
Sadly, you have now broken the ToS:
‘You warrant and represent that You have no economic, physical, emotional, psychological, or privacy related considerations that would be adversely impacted by Your use of the Game.’
Yes, there is a larger thread on it. And, no, waypointing to a city has nothing to do with it, as I get it almost every time I go into battle, and I don’t waypoint afterward.
Whenever i open the game i login, choose my character, then on the loading screen it freezes and says the client has stopped responding. I have re installed three times already and still the same problem. i have tried the -repair and didnt work.
This issue is not a Forum or Website Bug. You might try posting in Tech Support, or even Game Bugs, where others may be able to help. Good luck. =)
I’ve never heard that particular rumor before. No evidence that that is true, unless maps are capped at 50 players/map.
Btw, is this email an official mail from anet?
“noreply@guildwars2.com”
It can be. Or it could be one of the many phishing emails going around that use that ‘reply’ address, as well. It depends on the email.
I had this bug just this last week. Only restarting the game fixed it.

Suit yourself. Best of luck.
Sometimes, logging out and back in helps with this issue. Also, it may take a few hours to resolve. I’ve had it happen to me, and within the next day the items showed back up. Good luck.

You should never submit new tickets for an existing issue you are discussing with Customer Support. Just update your existing request. Submitting multiple tickets slows down the process for you, and for others.
It would be best if you closed out the new ticket and updated the previous one dealing with this problem.

You will need to update your ticket and explain that you still need help resolving the issue. Good luck.
You are most welcome. =)
ok so i have avast running a virus scan but i cant find the number to call for an account relog where ould i find it
You need to contact Customer Support through the site page. Top Left of this page – Support – Top Right of that page – Submit a Request.
Good luck.
Yes, you need to designate either the Bone Pick, or Molten Alliance Pick, if you have/had either of those. That might help with your issue. Good luck.
Worst part is that you cannot ever purchase the item you desire.
You really want a molten alliance mining pick? Too bad. Never one on sale because it’s account bound.
The mini for winning the rollerbeetle race was tradable, even the character specific tonics that were created were tradable in GW1…
I can’t see them allowing Gem Store items to be traded. That just seems counter-productive.
I think it is good that everyone does not own every item in-game. Otherwise, it would be so homogenous and rather boring. Just my opinion, of course.
When in doubt about how something might work in-game, you can often find answers in the wiki, thus preventing a loss of a whole day’s game-time.

Hope this will be helpful in the future. =)
I don’t PvP, it just seems too scary…lol…but, I wanted to say I really enjoyed the livestream. It was very informative, and both Devs were a pleasure to get to know a bit better. Keep up the good work! =)
so i got hacked the other day but didnt notice until i thought that is weird were is my armor and weapons… oh and my inventory is cleared out how quaint so i checked my bank and my 71 vials of powerful blood 61 globs of ectoplasm and 81 orchilium ore’s were gone then i decided to check my black lion transactions: sold and i saw my lvl 80 runes sigils and other expensive stuff sold and my money was mailed away. so is there any way to get anything back? like maybe my armor from Cof without having to do the dungeon several times to get that armor? or getting all the stuff back that was sold in the last like three days?
First, you will need to secure your computer, as your game account has been compromised. Possibly, your email account, as well. You need to change the passwords to both, and run scans, etc. to look for keyloggers and viruses. Support can help you with this, if needed.
You will need to contact Customer Support, and once it has been determined you have been ‘hacked’, you can request an account rollback and regain all your lost items and currency.

This bug happens to me occasionally. Once you have used a waypoint (or very occasionally when first logging in), your camera will stay at the waypoint/spawn location, although you can still move your character. I find it happens most often in LA. It takes a few minutes for the camera to finally catch up to your character, if you do choose to move. I usually don’t because I can’t see where I am going.
Maybe if people showed others where these pre-events were, more people would go do them. I have no idea where they are, lol. I’ve no clue where the champs are in Queensdale, either. Except the Oak. Ha ha, just call me Clueless.
I think some people don’t leave because, in the past, the big bosses went down so quickly, they didn’t want to miss them.
I think I’m not any of the four listed. =)
There are probably a lot more than 4 kinds of players. Different things motivate different people. As well as combinations of things.
I am currently encountering this problem.
My guild is not displaying it’s tag, the people in it, the upgrades, nothing.Which kinda sucks because there’s a lot of stuff in that guild bank
I believe you are referring to a different issue than what this thread is about. There seems to be a bug with guilds currently in-game; I am sure the Devs will address it as soon as possible.

The obelisk give each of your characters one, and only one, skill point. Subsequently, your characters can use it once per day to charge quartz by communing with it.
support request (#71572)? - concerned player

As a suggestion, a perusal of the release page, and the corresponding patch note Highlights, might serve the Support team in good stead. This particular issue was addressed there, and wasn’t really that obscure. It only takes maybe 5 minutes every two weeks to become slightly familiar with the current patch, and could be helpful in addressing concerns players send in.
No way to enter an activity as a group at this time. Perhaps, some day….
You might find this thread informational: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Official-state-of-skill-lag-and-server-optimizations/first#post2970255
So is there some weird prerequisite for the hint to appear? Cause to me all it says is "Approach any Juvenile Creature and press [insert interaction key here] to charm them. Unless I’m mistaken, I’ve done that about four times now. And no hint, so what am I missing here?
If you mean the Hint Completion action isn’t updating, yes, it is bugged. For many players, the last 1 or 2 Hints (or certain Hints) just will not complete, be they Charm Pet, Full Mail, Profession Mechanic, what-have-you.
If you are referring to not being able to charm any pets, or certain pets, then that would be a specific bug related to your account, and you would need to contact Customer Support. =)
So with that in mind, that the last two or one hints for a person can be bugged, would I just be best off ignoring it, remaking a ranger for the hint?
A few people have posted about completing the Hints Achievement on new characters (usually that concerned the Mail Hint), and some have found ways to complete it on existing characters, but many more have just left it….waiting for the inevitable fix in a patch some day. I’ve not read about anyone ‘fixing’ the Charm Pet one by creating a new character. That doesn’t mean that solution could not work. There is a thread in the Game Bugs Sub-forum about this issue, if you care to peruse it. Good luck! =)
This sounds like a WvW/PvP issue, not PvE. I don’t play much WvW and no PvP, and I would much rather be downed on my Ranger, or my Guardian, than my Elementalist. Moving those few feet in PvE does little for my survivability. Lol.
Of course, that’s just me. =)

Keg Brawl is on Sundays, only. I think it might be the only activity that has a set schedule.
There is a schedule on the wiki, or there was….I will try to find it. =)
Edit: Well, this is all I could find. It may have been removed and reside in historical, or what I am linking might have been what I saw previously. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Talk:Daily
Since Keg Brawl is what you are interested in, and that is on a confirmed schedule (Sundays only), I guess it doesn’t really matter. =)
