That’s odd…I feel the Jack-in-the-box scythe is much faster than the regular scythes, or my Bone pick (kinda hard to compare scythe to pick to axe) or whatever the Lightning axe is called.

Though, I don’t own that flowery one, so I can’t compare to that. I did not care for that animation, at all. Nor the fiery pick one.

I see you keep referring to all armor looking the same as level 10 armor. For me, at least, the special armors you can craft as you level up particular crafting disciplines do look different than what drops, or you crafted before, and…there are different dungeon armors to acquire starting at level 35, up to and through level 80. And, again, for me, Arah armor is the least appealing one of the bunch. There are also some rare and unique weapons that drop in particular zones. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on your view, they are very, very rare.

This is not to say that more armor or weapon models would not be appreciated. As the game matures, I am sure there will be more choices for character progression, horizontal-wise. =)

You can be in overflows for the tower. I get what you are saying, it will be interesting how they handled that.

what happens to the tower on a server when players from that server inject the anti toxin in an overflow zone?

On a buffer overflow, i imagine only the tower of the overflow ends, and if you save on the overflow player on the server might decided to end it.

Dont get me wrong im at work, so still speculating on the process how Anet is envolving something that does not fit in the game engine, talking about chooses, events decided by players, it does not make sense with overflow system…

I might be missing something, but as i understand this, the tower will only fall after the bloom has been injected a number of times. It’s like a server wide thing. I injected the bloom last night, and tower is absolutely still standing. There appeared to be a progress bar for the how many times it had been done, and was barely moving. Given that the overflow isn’t persistent (I don’t think? ), is that progress wasted?

As far as I understand, when you enter an instance it is hosted in your home server, and you have to enter an instance to inject the anti-toxin.

Hmm…but if your party is made up of people from many different servers on the overflow map, whose ‘home server’ is the instance created on? The first person to enter the instance’s server? Then we are back to ‘does injecting toxin on another server count towards your home server, or the server on which you are’?

My only complaint with skins currently is the new gas mask skin. You get it from the new meta and its a one time use instead of something you can make multiples of from the achievement tab. I like the skin a good deal and want to use it. Problem being is it looks good on multiple characters I have.

The other meta items I have apply to all my characters. So why not this skin?

I’m not sure what you mean…‘apply to all my characters’. I have a set of dragon wings, which I can use on one character (at a time), same with the holographic wings, same with this or that. Why is the gas mask different?

Wow, I had no idea certain/all Legendaries or any weapon changed your skill animations. Is it mentioned on the weapon description? Or just ‘common knowledge’?

Ahh, just looked it up, and it doesn’t say what the theme will be…just a new Logging Axe. It may be Wintersday-themed. Or it may not be.

This is a glitch that happens occasionally. Usually if you log out and back in, or just wait for a short time, the items will appear.

I’m not sure what ‘it’ is. If you submitted a ticket to change your email address, you will get a response to your email, and Customer Support (and only CS) will associate the new email address you give them with your game account. There is no other way to do so at this time. =)

No, I don’t. If you are in an instance, you have an hour. If not, then it’s not really a problem for me. I’d rather they do updates, than let things go for 2 weeks.

I’m not sure about that…the bar moved on our server before reset, so obviously something other than reset affected it.

It would be interesting to hear from the Devs about whether injecting while playing on an overflow server has any effect on your home server.

If you are having code 19 problems, do not send in support tickets. The issue is currently being worked on by ArenaNet, and they will put out a hotfix, I’m sure, as soon as possible. You can find a thread over in Tech Support with a Dev response.

I am sorry to hear you feel that way, StinVec. I thought you were doing quite the community service. It’s too bad it’s no longer appreciated as it should be. I think there must be many open positions for hire, as things seem to be bigger than can be handled easily by the amount of people currently available. =(

I’m trying to set up the mobile authenticator. I have the app installed for iOS and when I link my gw2 account (manual or qr code) I go to enter the 6 digit code shown on the app and I keep getting the “invalid code” error when I try to link them. Soon as this happens, the secret code changed and I have to re- set up the app. Why does this keep failing??? Anyone experience this issue before?

I logged in etc perfectly, then wanted to do Citadel of Flame dungeon, so I found a group and when I clicked enter explorable mode, my game and account just crashed and everytime i try and log on it crashes until im kicked out the party. Any ideas?

I use Orangespring, it matches perfectly with my character/armor. I just use it as the border color, as I don’t want my whole armor set that color. I had previously used it with some brick colors, and/or Midnight Fire, but currently I am using it with Deep Teal and other turquoises. My main colors change with my mood, but the border/highlight colors remain Orangespring.

I believe some of the Mystic Forges in WvW are still Halloween-themed, as well. =P

That’s not how it works. Each day (reset to reset), you are allowed to guest to two(2) different servers….as many times as you like. But only those two. Once reset happens, you may then choose 2 different servers to guest to, or the same 2, or a combination.
There is no timer started the moment you enter a server, nor a time-limit on how long you can be there.

Perhaps the new build just released solved your problem. I hope so, good luck. =)

Maybe it’s just not understood. The particular LS team responsible for a 2-week release patch doesn’t work on that patch for just two weeks. They work on it, and its corresponding ‘sister’ patch for 4 months. Sure, a patch with more polish might be nice, but having one of the LS team ’do something else’ for four months isn’t going to help the bug-fixing/polish team. That is the point. Those people aren’t particularly trained to fix bugs, so what exactly is the advantage to having the LS team not do their job?

If you want more bug-fixing, you need to hire more bug-fixers, not just make some people idle for an extended period of time.

If the account your friend ‘gave’ you has been used by anyone else, then you should be careful, as that would be against the rules of the ToS.

I can’t find anywhere where I said tools don’t require coding. Or that people would continue to work during a bug-fixing patch. In fact, I said they would have nothing to do, but sit around and wait whilst the people who were proficient in bug-fixing fixed bugs. The point is, when spending a month concentrating on bug-fixes only, there would not necessarily be any more people available to do that particular work. Geez.

The OP is asking for one of the LS updates to instead focus completely on polish, and you come into the thread talking about quality of life changes that have happened in the past. Those may be loosely connected, at a stretch, but they certainly don’t preclude each other.

You are correct that there probably aren’t 1000’s of threads, however I bet if you read the LS collaborative development thread you can find ~1000 posts that ask for the content to either be slowed down, polished, or both.

QoL also isn’t really polish… polish would be fixing the DE’s that still bug since launch… look at JQ… currently just taking from world bosses:

Or the 100’s of clipping issues that exist. Or the lack of dyes on recent armors. Or the still numerous tooltip bugs. The list goes on, but I would be here all night.

A patch that focused 100% on polish would be a great thing for everyone. Plus it would give us 2 weeks without scarlet, it’s really a win, win for everyone.

First of all, two weeks is still nothing and I did say that. Two weeks would fix like six bugs. The rate of stuff coming out has nothing to do with the speed bugs get fixed, which was also part of my point.

And you ignore the point about dynamic events being bugged after they’ve been fixed. Most dynamic events were fixed. Changes are made to code and some bug again. I’m pretty sure there’s no a single dynamic event that’s been bugged since launch that needs to be fixed. What you have is the same dynamic event bugged again, maybe with a completely different bug.

See saying someone isn’t fixing bugs means ignoring every patch note that comes out with the bug fixes listed (and many bugs get fixed that aren’t listed. I know because I’ve found some myself).

I am on record as saying I want the living story to slow down too…but it’s not because I think slowing it down will fix bugs more or faster, so these things don’t even necessarily relate.

Quality of life fixes aside, there are tons of bug fixes that has been happened. And you know, throwing more people at a programming problem doesn’t guarantee the problem will be fixed sooner. Sometimes, throwing more people at a problem will slow down the coming of a resolution to a problem.

two week cycle does not equal two weeks of dev work…there’s 4 living story team’s, given only 1 team get’s content out each 2 week period (and occasionally it’s not 1 of those 4 teams but 1 of the other teams) that’s 2 months of bug fixing….

Actually, each of the four teams is responsible for 2 releases in a row (a whole month’s worth). Each team works for 4 months on their ‘release package’, the first half and then the corresponding second half. The developers use tools created for them in-house to create our patch releases, so they aren’t necessarily coders or programmers. Even if one of the patches was dedicated to only ‘bug-fixing’, it would not necessarily mean there were more people available to work on it. Someone whose job is Audio and/or VO may have no bug-fixing skills. Prop Artists, Creature Creators, Armor Artists, Terrain Artists, Text, UI, Writing….many different disciplines are needed for each patch. Few are probably proficient at bug-fixing; they should just sit idle, or should they give it a try, and break things even further? I don’t know…….

A simple apology when mistakingly ‘permanently banning’ someone would go a long way. Or when advertising items that do not live up to their description. It would be nice if there was a change in the text that is scripted for some of the responses.

I am a great champion of ArenaNet and the Guild Wars franchise, but I think support needs some work and, perhaps, additional training in customer service.

Oh? I didn’t read where it was a bug, and was going to be removed. Do you have a link for that? I like the glory and rank in Activities, as that is about as close to PvP as I will probably ever get. Too many ‘passionate’ players there for me to even try my hand. Lol.

Considering how the announcement is worded, it can be confusing about when you would receive the mini:

In addition, everyone who completes the Premier Season Veteran meta achievement will receive:

the title of Veteran of the Mists,
a WvW Season 1 Reward Chest Key, which will unlock a special chest at the end of the season which contains rewards based on your world’s ultimate performance, and
a Mini Dolyak.

If everything is awarded at the end of the season, why not just state you will receive a chest (no need for a key), mini and title at season’s end? It does sound like you would get the key, mini and title at the completion of the meta.

They have also just stated that a change to Unlimited Harvesting Tools is coming very soon, making them account-bound, rather than soul-bound. That is certainly a lovely quality-of-life update. =)

And, you know, every single release patch note has a section on polish and bug-fixing. Different teams all add to each release. I’m not sure the Living Story/World team are trained to do bug-fixing/polish…perhaps that is the bailiwick of the Bug-fixing and/or Polish team.

It was posted in another thread that the account was returned, and had the bonus of a level 80 Necromancer, which was appreciated. So, all is well! =)

If it was a Sigil or Rune recipe, I believe each recipe states which crafting discipline uses it. If they did not, we would never know which one to buy. =P

If it was the Oil, Crystal or Stone, Leatherworker doesn’t use any of those recipes. You will, most likely, need to gather or purchase spores to purchase another.

I have cycled through the Achievement twice, already (I only do it once per day), so it is working just fine for me, as well. You won’t get an achievement point, though, if you don’t get the chest each time (which means you got points for something other than just surviving).

I guess I misunderstood the OP. I thought you were asking for examples of things currently in-game to keep players from straying afar. Not suggestions for improvement.

Gee, I do and have done all the content on my ranger, and it has no specific build. Sometimes, others wander by, so they also do the content. I thought warriors were supposed to be easier than the lowly ranger, but maybe not.

I guess you could join a guild…there are many that are happy to help their members do content they find difficult to do alone. Best of luck. =)

If the character holding the claim ticket speaks to the BLTC vendor at the top of the stairs in the Trading Post, the menu for jade weapons will be available. =)

Customer Service will only speak to the owner of the account, should an account be compromised. Only the game account’s owner could possibly qualify for an Account Restoration. Restorations never include anything pertaining to guild banks or the TP.

When an item is soulbound to a deleted character, nothing can be done with it save store it in the bank for nostalgia, or destroy it. It is best to heed the warnings on items that are, or will be, soulbound on acquisition or use.
