You can only gain one skill point per character from the Obelisk….ever. Subsequently, as noted above, it can be used to charge Quartz Crystals, once per day.
I would still contact Customer Support. If someone is trying to have the email associated with your account changed, it would be best to let Customer Support know that that is not something you desire. If no one has any of your log-in information, no harm, no foul. Better safe than …a compromised account.
Edit: I looked this site up on WhoIs, and it does seem rather questionable. It may be the latest in a long line of phishing attempts. If so, you should bring it to ArenaNet’s attention, as there are a lot of people requesting email changes right now, and this email could slip in unnoticed by those expecting a reply from Customer Support.

Hey guys, I don’t know if this is the right place for this question, and if it’s not, I’d be happy to move it to the appropriate place, but I didn’t know where else to place it. I was just wondering if I could upgrade to the Heroic or Deluxe version of the game without paying for the entire thing outright. So basically, pay the difference between price of the regular version of the game, and the price of the Heroic version. If anyone knows the answer to this, I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks!
You can buy the Digital Deluxe upgrade in-game for 2000 gems. There are only two versions available from ArenaNet, and that is Heroic (Regular no-frills) Edition and Digital Deluxe. If you just want the items that come in the Heroic Edition, you can purchase them all in-game, either through the Gem Store, or the Trading Post.
Maybe if there was something like Nicholas the Traveler, and he needed 5 or 10 different trophies found only in 5 or 10 disparate zones, and he gave some sought-after items, or a good chance for said items, people would spread out each week to the zones to gather these trophies.
It’s things like this that make me wonder if there is any of the original team left over in Anet because so many of the problems in GW2 were solved long ago in GW1. It’s like they forgot the games even existed at all sometimes.
I actually expected a new Nick character with all the trash “trophy” items that pollute the loot tables in the game. Imagine if there was a use for ‘Spike’ other than collecting them for lol’s or just mashing ‘sell trophy’ whenever visiting a merch.
But people didn’t spread out. When Nicolas was looking for stuff, people found the most effective farm and for an entire week, that’s the zone everyone was in. Nicolas filled the roll, to some degree of the Living Story with one difference.
Many people just bought what they needed and left and didn’t stay in the zone at all. And then they were gone.
And because of heroes, no one cared whether or not they didn’t have people to play with…or at least many people didn’t.
Most trophies aren’t tradeable, for one…and I suggested 5 or 10 different trophies in 5 or 10 disparate zones. Encouraging people to visit all 5 or 7 or 10 zones. Not everyone would do them in the same order, so hopefully people would spread across the zones looking for said trophies. I am not sure trophies already in-game would be used, or special trophies would need to be added to loot drops specific to a certain, say, 3 or so zones. But if what Nick offered was desirable, maybe people would wander around the different zones collecting things. And possibly, do some events, etc. while they were there. It’s just a thought. =)
I thought the best we could get, before this latest release was Masterwork. So, I am thrilled to have received a Rare Aquabreather from the chest! =)
With the new support site, I can’t figure out how to see tickets I submitted and their status.
The only options are Submit a Request, choose language, and view common issues.
Is this a bug? Or is there some method I can’t see?
The new support only uses emails to correspond with you. Every email sent back will include the prior email received. Keeping copies of your correspondence is the only way to see your tickets.
This is a phishing email, as shown in the thread here in the Account sub-forum and in the sticky. Please remove the links, so others don’t inadvertently click on them, as well as your personal information. It is unwise to post information others might use to compromise your account. You can safely delete the email.
Edit to your edit: Lol, that should be a great tip-off that is a scam email! No need to contact support, there are plenty of copies of that email in the aforementioned threads.

I think you may have misunderstood the “How-to” sticky. Those instructions are for submitting a ticket to Tech Support @ Customer Support. Not for posting in the Tech Sub-forum. You would never post personal information such as your serial code in the forums for the public to see. Only in a private email (or previously support submission) to Tech (or Customer) Support.
Ahh…you meant possible ways to garner support. None of which are viable at this time. If, and when, they release in China, I am sure there will be an influx of revenue, so yes, that would be support for their game. I am not sure they will ever have licensed products out, GW1 never did, though that would be great. The model now is free content (including more maps), so paid expansions may never materialize.

I see people in Metrica, and especially Wayfarer every day. Because I go to these zones every day, so I see them. I think the starter zones still have a pretty good population, at least on my server, which is bottom tier. I see fewer people in other zones, though I always see some and I play at odd hours of the day and night. I guess I’m just on a lucky bottom-of-the-tiers server. =)
But, spreading out the population may be good…or it may be bad. Only so many people to go around. /shrug
That’s strange. I’ve seen some pictures over in the Gas Mask thread, and they didn’t have white screws. I am pretty sure my gas mask doesn’t have white screws, either. I will have to look.
Edit: Although, I don’t have white screws, I do have grey ones, that match the ‘ear’ pieces on the side. Using darker dyes like Abyss makes them nearly unnoticeable, but using lighter dyes does make them stand out a lot more. I guess they wanted them to be the color of the metal they are. /shrug

That number is on gw2wiki info about magic find. It came from a forum post months ago.
There is nothing in the wiki about 1% other than MF is increased by 1% each time you fill the Essences of Luck bar. The only Dev quote (which is only mentioned in the ‘Page Discussion’) refers to MF not affecting chests or loot after it has dropped of a mob.
So, I am not sure where this 1% comes from, either.
It is not possible. Characters are tied to accounts. This is one reason sharing accounts is against the ToS.
It’s great your friend has his own copy of the game, and now you can play together. Make sure he chooses your server to play on. ; )

Wake up! If you use your real money to buy those items it’s not different from any pay2win system, with the only exception that this is a pay2get. All this talking about supporting the game is quite useless, since they have tons of ways to get support even without involving the gemstore.
This is interesting. Could you provide a comprehensive list of the ‘tons of ways’ the game is supported that doesn’t involve the gem store? Options are always great to know.
And tons of others would not like this just anywhere in the open world. They may, however, instigate dueling somewhere. Hopefully, not just anywhere.
Have you tried using AutoLoot? or AoE AutoLoot? I have no idea what my loot is, ever, until I’ve looted the sparkles. Maybe your issue only happens when someone doesn’t use one of the AutoLoots. Might be worth a try…

Hello!Recently 3 of my friends started playing on Seafarer’s Rest,while i’m playing on Underworld.Can i go and play on their world,just like realm switching on wow?I can’t seem to find that option.
You can guest to their world to do PvE. You can not, however, take part in any WvW with them. To guest, choose the guest option at the character choice screen.
Another option, if desired, is to delete all your characters and transfer to their world (or they to yours) at no charge. Or buy a transfer (all characters intact) with gems purchased with in-game gold or cash. =)

No, it is not possible to change your display name on request unless it is for a security issue, such as using your real name, or because the name is found inappropriate. I know some of us wish we had been better informed at Display name creation…lol…I would have probably picked something easier to pronounce and spell. =)
Well, totally, Guardians have 23 fields/finishers and Necromancers have 20. So, not so very far apart. But, Necromancers certainly have more weapons with none.
You know what would be nice? The background reflects where your character is currently logged out at. As in the general area: Kryta, Maguuma, Shiverpeaks, etc.
They could use the current background that shows behind each character’s head. Which is, of course, where your character last logged out from (not including PvP or WvW).
Well, Necromancer has no combo fields on axe, daggers, scepter, focus or warhorn. So, I guess that would be a profession with even more weapon sets without combo fields.
Some professions have lots of fields and finishers on their weapons, some have only finishers. I’m not sure..maybe some only have fields. It is what it is.

Now I come from GW1, and even though I understand that GW2 is a different game, I wish the good stuff from GW1 wasn’t just shut aside like it was taboo by the GW2 team.
Now in GW2, to change your build (traits), you need to be in a main city (like GW1) and pay a small fee (which is ok).
What I don’t understand is why, like in GW1, they did not implement a local template system that allows you to save your builds in order to be able to reload them easier for that same fee (or no fee in sPvP). When I saw this was missing, I was expecting them to add it within the year, but they have shown no sign of having even though of adding something of the sort to GW2.
This can be very useful for people that play both PvE and WvW as chances of changing builds are pretty high and its just annoying to have to remember the builds and manually respec all the time.
I am not sure why you say they haven’t even thought about adding a template. They have talked about it a few times. Do you mean since they haven’t added it yet, they haven’t considered it? It would be a nice QoL improvement, and I am sure it will come along. It took some time to show up in GW1, as well. It might have something to do with their limitations on text characters, or something. Of course, I have no real idea.

Ahh, my bad…I thought you were confused about ‘party member’ vs. ‘anyone’. Instead, the confusion is about Hybrid vs. chamber. Yes, I suppose that could have been made clearer.
I, too, have this issue. I submitted an in-game bug report. I did the Hybrid, came out, still hearing battle music…I changed characters to a low-level in Caledon…still hearing battle music. I logged out, logged back in with low-level, did some Personal Story, had a battle, finished it, came out of instance…battle music still playing. I went about my business on the low-level, hoping after some time it would stop; it didn’t. I had to close the game, again, to refresh the music. I hope it gets fixed soon, it’s a bit irritating as the music does do it’s job, and helps create a sense of urgency.
I don’t think it has anything to do with alt-tabbing, or Windowed Mode, or anything else. This ‘bug’ showed up after a recent release, and is affecting many, many users. I do none of the things listed, and have the same issue. There are several threads about this.
I just did this chamber for the second time, no one in my party died on Hybrid, yet I didn’t get the achievement or the mini. I think it is bugged =/
Did anyone die during the instance at all? Downed is fined but no one can die in the instance from start to finish of the instance.
I know one person was downed at the beginning, but I’m not sure he died. If you can’t die throughout the entire chamber, then the achievement is somewhat misleading as it says “Defeat Toxic Hybrid without any party members dying” (or something like that), not “Defeat the chamber without anyone dying”.
I’m a bit confused by your statement. It is an instance, either you go in alone or with a party…there are no other choices. Although, saying ‘party member’ is a bit more precise, it is a bit redundant.

You have posted about this issue in multiple threads, including your own. You have received an answer from the Support team, as well as from Gaile. Support has seldom replaced deleted items/characters. You say you wanted to move on, and so deleted your characters (and their soulbound items); now is probably the best time to adhere to that.

You can not link two GW2 accounts. You could write a little note with each sent item, or both join your personal guild and trade items through it. There should be no problem exchanging items between your two accounts.
It is bugged, and has been for a year, sadly. Mine is stuck on mail, but there have been threads about almost every last hint not completing…sometimes even last two hints.
About 50-70% of the time, lately, I get stuck when rezzing someone. No matter what keys I hit, I am unable to move away from rezzing them, and often end up dying myself from enemy fire.
Does the support work on the weekends?

If you have an issue, then you would update your original ticket. If your friend is the one with an issue, your friend would update their original ticket. Submitting duplicate tickets always slows down the process for everyone, including the one submitting tickets.
My warrior, which is rather low-level, wears some greys/silvers and a dusty blue. But, I haven’t played it much lately, and it’s certainly not my main. In fact, come to think of it, it’s parked at a JP for silver doubloons, lol!
For me, it depends on the champion. The Wolfmaster in Wayfarer’s is very easy. The Troll in Caledon is a bit harder, but still solo-able. I’ve never tried to solo a dungeon, but I know there are plenty of videos out of others who have done so.
I am sorry for your loss. And curious. What difference would it make if the scammer was ‘face-to-face’ with you? I mean, if the method of exchange was the same….whether he is across the zone or standing right in front of you, you would still have trusted enough to send him the gold first, no?
In other MMOs that I have played, the face-to-face trade is a special window. All items to be traded must be in the box and then both can click “accept.” If one of the items is subsequently withdrawn (as in an attempted scam), the “accept” status resets and then both members must again accept. It is a much more scam-proof system than sending by mail. WoW also has a COD option on the mail which allows a person to send an item COD…and the other party cannot take the item until they accept…which automatically deducts gold from them. I don’t see anything in GW2 that works that way…but I have not really explored it.
Ok, you are asking about a different method…nothing really to do with being near said player. GW2 does actually have a method of trading that is scam-proof. It is the Trading Post, and barring a glitch, you will never lose your gold with no item to show for it.

You can just destroy it, and others like it. ArenaNet will NEVER send you an e-mail about your account unless you have requested they do so.
