I have 100% map completion in non HoT Tyria (twice over.) No reward received for VB completion.

That worked. Mattis granted the wings.

NOTE: He will not grant a second set of wings until you use the glider pack you were given, in your glider skins page. Get the first glider, then ‘h’ for hero panel, use the skin and then return for the second set

I’ve tried the various change methods. I’ll try finding Mattis.

I have both white and black wing back packs on this account. All attempts to claim them at multiple scouts have failed.

Suggestions?

I like the spinal backpiece idea.. also butterfly wings, daydreamer.. I’d alos like to see witch brooms and magic carpets as gliders.

I don’t agree, I use them constantly. On a map like Verdant Brink they are really needed for completion. ANET probably wanted to make sure that players noticed.

I have both the white and black wing gliders. However, I destroyed the actual packs as a useless inventory item. I can skin any pack with either skin and the originals were too low quality to use on any of my characters.

Scout Acan refuses to speak to me at all. I did glide to him and speak to him to advance the mission the first or second day of the release.

How can I claim the wing gliders?

Night and the enemy is a major HoT theme. Mordremoth and “his?” forces are stronger at night. Like rl plants, (and the Vietnam War. I’m convinced that one of the anet devs is a ‘nam vet. The parallels are striking. ) Mordremoth’s minions have a diurnal cycle.

They make selling difficult. An alternative strategy would be to set the listing price at the minimum if it is below. That’s fairly basic coding.

Either fix would remove the need to manually type in the minimum price and streamline inventory management.

Don’t permit bids under the minimum price. This would make inventory management less frustrating/time consuming.

It would also reduce the number of meaningless orders hanging around in your database.

Well, I suspect the betas were considered the “early access.” That being said; “Is not equal to” is usually written “!=.”

Cool, I didn’t know that. I still think magic carpets and witch brooms would make fine gliders.

While I’m on the subject of gliders.. how about a colorable and/or guild glider as a gem store item? Witch Brooms and Magic Carpets (which already exist in game ) would make keen gliders too.

I’m doing similar, playing as a Chronomancer while unlocking it. The practice is great. Rata Nova has me pretty excited, though I haven’t actually made it there yet. I have to gate grind for a bit.

One more suggestion;

We need droppable munitions. I can envision defending a rally point from the air, as a close support bomber.

HoT is amazing. I’m deeply impressed. Chronomancers are the answer to many offerings to Lyssa. I’d have bought HoT just for the gliding. ( Yes I pre purchased the delux version on my main account )

I’m grinding away on glider mastery and spending 15 and 20 minutes thermalling (riding updrafts) near the Verdant Brink entry point.

I find myself wondering if Chronomancers will one day find a means to briefly visit old Tyria.

Bumping this because I want the team to see it.

It’s frustrating to only have one chance per hour at some very difficult flights. I therefore suggest;

Make a gem store glider launcher. This could take one of three forms off the top of my head, ( four really but I’m not sure the fourth is really appropriate.) These could be allowed to be used only at the specific launch points already used by the Pact choppers.

Alternatively, make it possible to get into the canopy, perhaps by ley line gliding.

Quaggan Balloon. A Quaggan aviator picks you up for a leisurely ascent. This would be not unlike launching SpaceShip 1.

Hyperlaunch Jumping Mushroom. Blasts you straight into the canopy.

Trebuchet Glider Launcher.

Personal Helicopter Call Device. An Asuran innovation that launches a flare, calling for a special airlift.

First, let me say I love Heart of Thorns. Chronomancer is the answer to many offerings to Lyssa. The glider is just.. wow. I’d have bought HoT just for Verdant Brink and gliding.

My first pass through Strange Observations, I skipped the first two Mordrem fights by using [Blink] to bypass the traps. I completed the objectives and Taimi joined the group. She never explained about Rata Nova though and the story wouldn’t advance.

( I’m totally stoked to hear of Rata Nova. Is it possible that some day Chronomancers will find a way to return briefly to Old Tyria? )

I reset and did the story step again, killing all Mordrem and it worked.

Also I found that I had to reposition the mushrooms some of the time, The Bristlebacks appeared, but never went hostile if I misplaced the mushroom.

So I insta-levelled my new Revenant in the first 10 minutes or so of the launch. This would appear to mean that I can unlock specialization mainly through easy and quick Hero Challenges in central Tyria.

I have to admit, I’m disappointed at that. My two mains have each gotten 100% world completion. For having had “Been There, Done That” I have to work much harder to unlock Specializations.

Also, ANET, I seriously doubt that HoT has 200 Hero Challenges. Does this mean that my mains are locked out of specializing? I had 52% specialization on launch day. The math looks like I will never be able to complete specialization.

Ragnarox, I don’t agree and suggest you give it a try. It might help to have a post match beer standing by.

As to sword 2 on Mesmer; It’s been complained about for years and nerfed. It’s not going away.

I had a warrior tonight try to hundred blade into my (Mesmer) sword 2 several times. It surprised the kitten out of me. They walked into the Cuisinart.

If that was the OP, you can’t hurt a Mesmer for a very short time while Blurred Frenzy is running. Don’t attack, you are only hurting yourself.

It’s short duration, I’m not allowed to move while using it and it’s damage has already been toned way down. Just back up a couple of steps, problem solved.

As to citation, “grouch” complained about the build and having lost to it on an episode of ready up. The removal was announced shortly afterward. I don’t know, offhand which episode.

They were removed after a dev lost to a player running a condi clone death build. He complained about it on the GW2 stream and it was gone.

I read that channel skills like Rapid Fire will be re-targetable. Does this also mean that they will no longer seek through invisibility and other evades?

It’s true that at this point, unless you are playing the build off metabattle, with the prescribed skill rotations you are going to be stomped.

The OP is right, for most classes there’s really only one build that’s appropriate to take into pvp and that is not healthy for the game.

My past week or so has looked like that. Interesting that we’re not seeing anything close to 50% win/loss in this (admittedly small) sample.

@Akikaze I am saying precisely the opposite. If I wished a profession to carry me, I’d play a ranger. Mesmer is one of the more difficult classes to play well.

@Bliss Mesmers have been targetted with a number of nerfs since then. It’s clear to me that you don’t honestly know a lot about Mesmers from personal experience.

Again, I don’t care about a player who streams or what they do. First, that’s a different and minority tier. Second it’s beside the point.

Please read what I say before posting. You have essentially agreed with me. Yes MMR should be taking into account my match history and striving for a 50% win / loss.

However, my alt account is now under a 30% win rate, vs my main at 45%. It’s reasonable to assume that my main, after playing 4 years reflects my skill level.

So, your argument is both rude and meaningless. You don’t match paid professional players in GW2 with casual gamers for the same reason you don’t match a little league team against a professional baseball team.

You are dead wrong, on top of being rude. Mesmer was glamour nerfed and nearly useless quite literally for years. Shatter, heal, blind and stealth have all been heavily hit.
It’s pretty clear you speak without much experience.

The class has also been a favorite nerf target the whole history of the game. I suggest you try it before you talk.

Hah! Mesmer condi? It’s been nerfed into the ground. I don’t play PU, the shatters, blinds and heals have all been shut down.

As to power, it’s harder than ever to hit a decent shatter with all the cleave and aoe.

Oh and btw Bliss, most players aren’t ESL. Something that seems to have been forgotten. When a minority is favored, a system becomes top heavy and unstable. Hence the great crash and the depression that followed.

Well, I also main Mesmer, which is historically probably the most often underpowered. I play it because I like Mesmer and not for any cheese factor.

I’ve used Temporal Enchanter successfully in pve and pvp. Most consider it a weird build. I’ll use [feedback] and [null field]. It works well in the team fight at mid but I get asked wth I’m casting a “useless” glamour for. eg Feedback over a melee fight.

It works well in dungeon stacks especially in combination with Warden’s Feedback and Temporal Curtain.

I run a condi shatter Mesmer with limited success. I run doom and fire sigils. The main attack mode is to use confusing images while closing the enemy. When on top of them, hit torch 3 ( for the blind ) and torch 5, then shatter, f3 and f2. Swap to staff.

It goes without saying I’m traited for blind on shatter and confusion on blind. I’ve seen as many as 14 stacks of confusion for a short time.

Temporal Enchanter or Warden’s feedback will work with this setup. AoE condi cleanse or a reflect that will work some of the time.

ANET nerfed the heal on shatter to near uselesness and the blinds. It kinda works. This is a stop gap for me, hoping for better with HoT.

I have this issue on a laptop frequently. In my case, it’s caused by getting excited and pressing too kittento the lap top casing. Not sure of the nuts and bolts but it seems to move the cursor momentarily off gw2. The controls then fail to respond.

I’d like very much to see solo queue come back. It would probably go a long way toward solving the issue the OP is talking about.

@Saiyan I don’t agree. The entire point of a ladder or ranking system is to prevent gross imbalances and, yes, guarantee that wins are distributed to some extent.

As a personal example of why this is so;

I invited a guildmate to PvP. This person is a friend in STO, the former CoH and in another game world. He plays a reasonably effective PVE bunker Guardian. He’s also a good ANET customer buying stuff regularly.

After a rough evening. He absolutely refuses to PvP. In fact, he’s become more active in STO partly because it emphasizes pve play. We actually won the the first match and one or two others.

PvP lost a player and GW2 has a significantly less enthusiastic customer because his first experience of PvP was mostly being hammered.

Very few people will stick with a game they consistently and / or badly lose.

Having been away from pvp for a few days to take a break, I came back and got crushed by 200 + point margins for 9 consecutive games. In several of those games ( 3 I think ) I faced the same enemy team.

With matchmaking like that, you can bet the new f2p players will get run off fast. Once again only the hard headed players like me and the exploiters will remain.

Sure it’s fun for a small group of players who win often. Then they wonder why population is so low.

I haven’t been playing Chronomancer. After playing in the first BWE I had to stop.

It would be too heartbreaking to start playing this and see ANET crush it with nerfs or some crippling trait change. I just don’t want to deal with that.

So, I’ll take it up if I see that ANET allows it to be viable.
