Exalted>Mursaat>More Coffee is needed???

Well, the Exalted need not sleep, nor… eat? I think I read… that would otherwise make them immortal, one would speculate, but… in this game it was already proven that magic/energy is a limited resource.

So, one could argue that if they neither sleep or eat, yet fully function, that may mean that they live off their own energy source. However, if magic/energy is a limited resource, one could say that are not immortal and their time in existence is limited?

(And yes, I know they can be killed)

Exalted>Mursaat>More Coffee is needed???

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I just wanna know if I read this correctly and am left to assume this accurately.

Under Glint’s instructions, roughly 300 years ago the Forgotten sought out human volunteers who shared their reverence for Glint’s dream of securing a peaceful future. After a rigorous set of tests and trials, the most worthy of these volunteers underwent a ritual that converted their bodies into pure magical energy which were then encased in golden metal armor. From this point forward, they were known as the Exalted.

Does this mean that the Exalted, in their once original form, were human?

Also, she said this was addressed on the Exalted introduction page, I like read it twice, maybe I need to wake up more:

Someone in FB said that the Exalted reminded them of the Mursaat. RB said this was addressed here: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/the-exalted-pure-dedication/

Heck if I could find it… but I just woke up too, so… more coffee is needed, no doubt.

Now from what I did read, the Exalted, MAYBE once human who became transformed tells me there are in no way related to the Mursaat. Mursaat were another entity all their own who didn’t even come from Tyria?

P.S., Humans undergoing that kind of transformation? That had to hurt…

Missing Rune of The Traveler???

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I took screen shots to enhance this for you all.

My husband and I are… confused to say the least.

We’re decked out with 6 exotic runes of the Traveler cause… we like our speed.

However, for the first time, I noticed I was swimming slow in the water, so, I checked my armor and as per the screen shots, in the water, it’ll read me as 5/6.

Out of the water: 6/6

I can only gather it was probably because of the aqua breather, which he and I both swear that before now, it wasn’t always like that, that if you have 6/6 that applied to you being in water as well. Or am I just crazy and it’a always been that way?

Tips for starting Twilight?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I’m making Twilight at the moment too.

This is where I started:

>>>*Gift of Metal*… "That one is rather easy to do. You can knock that out rather quickly)

>>>*Gift of Battle*

>>>Buy yourself, as I did 200 Onyx Cores and flip them. (Unless you want to pay 60g more for the Lodes themselves)

>>>*Icy Runestones*

>>>*500 Ascalonian Tears*

My advice is you start off with easiest check-list items first and gradually work your eay up from there

Removal of items with no real explanation?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Jaymee.1560

Okay, so… yeah over the summer, my husband and I got slapped across the face with the removal of Karma Boosters.

For my husband and I, who put those Boosters in the Enchanted Booster, while others got to keep their single use karma Boosters and had not converted them into Enchanted Boosters to conserve space, my husband and I got… screwed.

I had addressed this on the forums before with no avail.

NOW… ya took away my Laurel MF Boosters that I would buy regularly with my Laurels for when I go Farming in SWs. You replaced it with those Item Booster, which by the way, has a CRAPPY timer on it (Thanks alot snort)

By doing this you jacked me of 30% of my MF that I would have been buffed with almost round-the-clock when farming SWs.

I would accept this better if I knew why it was done. Granted, I don’t go combing every website out there, like say Dulfy, or whatever, to find out why it may have been done, but for what little research I did do on on this move, I came up empty-handed.

Anet is changing things, we all know this, but the changes would be better received if you told us WHY you were doing it. To me, I haven’t seen a reason given from Anet on why they took that item away, an item that I used avidly to increase my MF. It is almost as if Anet, you’re getting bored, oh! well, let’s just take this item out of the game, it’ll give us something to do.

sighs

(Unless once again, the reason was given and I… once again, missed it.)

Well, before my mind decided this was some sort of a scheme on Anet’s part… I remember one of things they stated in the past.

Example: They stated that they were removing certain BL skins from the Blacklion Weapons Specialist in order to make room for future skins.

This having been said, I just assumed they were removing the armor kinds to make room for what, I hope, they would be releasing with HoT.

f2p ruining dungeon selling

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

You know, it’s a shame at the amount of people there are who spend precious time complaining about The F2P players…

Selling dungeon paths: Oooooooookay. If you do this, that is your business, however, I don’t find this method to be a highly respectable and/or lucrative method to make money.

As many have said already, ArenaNet acknowledges it, they don’t condone it but… with business such as this is no more or less risky (and most likely foolhardy) to the seller as they risk not getting paid or having it come out in such a way that is the opposite of what they desired.

I believe ArenaNet will never do is prohibit the F2P players from doing ANYTHING in this game cause it in someway hinders the money-making method of their veteran players…

Sorry, I think your request is… arrogant and doesn’t carry much weight.

Or

This kind of alert system, per your suggestion, would help a great many of us who get sick of having to reduce the game to check websites for timers.

Harsh, my friend. Very harsh.

I think the lore is excellent, all things, all years, both games and novels included.

For a MMO, I think the story is pretty kitten stable and deserve respect for being as well-rounded as they could get it.

Considering MMOs of the past, was FFXI’s story so awesome it overrides this one?

Was Everquest’s story so solid that no other work of fiction could live up to it?

The idea of a story being well written or not written well, is all left up to the speculation of the audience it connects with. One man’s sucky story could be another man’s “Book of Shadows”, if you will..

But if you poison the ley line magic, you poison ALL magic in the world. It’d be a one-stop shop to kill everything in the world. Might not be immediate, might take centuries to really show its effects, but it’d be little different than exploding a nuclear missile in proper wind currents to spread the radiation across a huge field.

(Gawd, I love fiction. Within the realm of fiction you can get away with just about anything.)

Great response btw, I loved it!

In the idea of poisoning ley line magic and that would not only be Mordremoth’s undoing, but Tyria’s undoing ultimately – who’s to say that there can’t be a method to tampering with Ley Line energy in such a way that prove lethal to dragons but other species remain immune to it’s lethal effects?

I posted this in mapchat yesterday and … then really started to dwell on it.
Zhaitan, Elder Dragon, we know the extent of his power. There are places in Tyria his influence couldn’t reach. NORTH-Nothern Shiverpeaks, for instance. In the 3 years I have been playing I never seen a zombie in Frostgorge. Fore Fireheart Rise.

Mordremoth, okay! Yeah, this Dragon’s reach is… obviously more wide-spread than his companion, Zhaitan, yet, we have not seen one key thing in all these months. No hint, no clue-in to what his weaknesses are.

Now, yesterday, someone said arrogantly: “It’s fire, duhhh… he’s a PLANT.”
To me, we’re talking magical dragons and with that having been said, the element of Fire is relative in my mind.

Others tossed that this is information learned in HoT when it launches, but something has occurred to me. We don’t see his reach in the high parts of the Northern Shiverpeaks and… anyone who owns plants, we know winter is not the season for planting… and I thought – Ice. Plants thrive in the warmth, Cold is their undoing (Unless it’s a holly bush) uh… what do you think?

All these dragons, powerful in their stature, but power… is not an infinite reason, the Asura have proven this. So if they consume magic, their use of it is not infinite, doesn’t get recycled to continuously keep going, like an drinking glass, to exhaust at some point, they have to have weaknesses… don’t they?

Renewed Focus (No pun intended to Guardians!)

I haven’t has the best of summers in this game or in real life. My Cat died, I handled it… oddly in comparison to similar situations in the past. I not only maxxed out but I over-shot my limit on my credit card on GW 2 Gems… and blew every single penny I owned in game within a 1-week period.

sobs

Thus I had come to find out from all of my wonderful fellow players and my husband and friends in real life that, HA! Guess what? I’m not the only person to have ever made silly mistakes like that.

I am known in this game as the resident Lady Donald Trump, and I hate that term but… whatever, yet, I found I couldn’t actually manage to earn any money in game for a time immediately following this strange hiatus that befell me. I was broke. I mean, kitten POOR BROKE, in game, couldn’t buy anymore gems to rectify the issue, I couldn’t figure out how to make any money in game either… I was… in a depression.

Suddenly – ANet announces: October 23rd – Heart of Thorns!

You’d think I’d be excited by this but… actually, I panicked, cause I had nothing and what in no way prepared in way I had hoped to be by this point.

I wanted to have at least 1,000g in my game bank by October 23rd, and I had NO clue on how to do it for some reason.

1 week later: Dove head first into Silverwastes and came out clean on the other side with 700g in bank via doing various different methods that I knew but somehow forgotten yet… suddenly remembered?

I struggled for weeks to earn and keep even 50g in my bank, but they announce Hot and 5 days later, 700g saved.

What the hell? I went to a friend of mine, Ed and we talked about it and his input on the notion is: “The finally announced the release. Fell like someone flicked a switch and turned your brain on and everything comes into focus? Yeah, that’s called renewed focus. Enjoy it.”

Not that I post this cause I don’t believe him, just that… really, what the hell?

Our brains get so fogged over and huge mistakes can be made but… they announce the one thing you’ve been waiting for them to say and… all of a sudden you go from being stupid to smart again?

"Hardcore" folks dont want "casuals" pugging.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Jaymee.1560

Jaymee.1560

I’m sorry, I just think this is dumb, it’s stupid and it has no place in MMOs.

Comments like this are a clear motive to divide people into two groups, in the same game.

Group 1: Hardcore Gaming

Group 2: Casual Gaming

and while these two types of plays style have been apart of gaming since the dawn of multiplayer gaming, there is a backfire to be had here. A backfire I myself suffered in GW 1 when Ursan was introduced.

I wanted to do the Torment Realm, I wanted to play it, yet I could never find a group who would take me unless I was Ursan Rank 8 and I would get upset by this. I couldn’t EARN my own G.D. Armbrace, I had to BUY it because no one in Torment take me and try to TEACH me what needed to be done in order to achieve these things.

Some Hardcore players here in GW 2 don’t mind PuGing and I love that, I support it… but when other Hardcore Players discriminate against me or anyone else for being casual, then they very well could miss out on a potential player that would help them achieve their goal and it’s just, wrong.

I too bought this game, I have a right to play it, who is another player to tell me I cannot participate in certain aspect because I do not have this or I’m not a hardcore player?

I understand everyone has goals here, I get that, but… to exclude people from gaming in an area where they may not play it as well as someone else or… play it, but lack 10 more beeds of sweat that the Hardcore Players use as their prerequisite is pathetic,

I missed out on a sizeable part of GW 1 because I didn’t know how to play it and the so-called Hardcore GW 1 players would take someone who was Ursan Rank 6.

We are all players in this game, we all have the same right to try all available content. I despise those who think they play better than someone else.

I went through it in Everquest, EQ 2 FFXI, SWTOR, GW 1 and I REFUSE to entertain going through it again here. Anyone who thinks this kind of mentality is justified should be bonked on the head. Pffffttt…

I’m a casual, or at least I call myself one, but everyone else labels me an “Elite” player in a novelty way cause I can do a great many things in this game that they can’t. But a lot of others can do a great many more things that I can’t… and… if I were interested, I’d never learn how cause no one would help to teach me, so…

Jump on my thought-train here, my darlings….

I know a great deal of us are just jumping out of our skins, we can’t wait for Oct 23rd! Oh, my goodness, I am so excited!

We, the veteran players, get to play something NEW! For everything you have shown us ArenaNet, I want to sincerely thank you for all the work you have done for us!

Some of us can’t wait to fly!
Some of us can’t wait to been Mordremoth and give him the finger!
Some of us can’t wait to see if Caithe truly stole that egg with intentions of having a delicious omelette!
MOST of us can’t wait until we get into our guild halls and finally marvel at the beautiful detailed designing the ANet Devs have produced for us!

Thank you!

Now, my hope is that… since MY guild is only just my husband and I… that perhaps claiming our own guild hall is a battle that is scaled to the size of the guild?

My husband and I would truly be crushed if we… couldn’t enjoy this amazing content!

so, um… You’re hoping to go back to ancient Rome and have an arena a gladiator could be proud of?

Or maybe just the extra space to run around more and burn a few calories?

Seriously? Is no one ever happy?

The overall size of those guild halls period are… astounding. They’re giving us our OWN map… MAP! And you want the arena to be BIGGER?

What? You want to throw keg parties in there or… what?

OH!! I think I get it!

Daily reset begins at 12:01 UTC… and obviously, it’s the time zones anyone of us could live in that renders that 12:01 different depending on location in where you live?

Gold Transfer restrictions question

Husband and I are discussing this, and I went ahead and reached and found Gaile’s huge post on the changes and we both read it, but husband and I are NOT seeing eye to eye here.

12:01 am UTC – 4:01 PDT and 7:01 EST, according to the Universal Time Coordinate (which I never heard of by the way, not before tonight anyway), after reading all that, I got the sense that all 3 of those times I mentioned just now… are all the same.

Now we’re EST, my husband and I, reset starts at 8:01 PM for us (Daylight Saving’s Time, gotta love it) and where I was 500g capped for last week, upon reset, I could take more money out of my guild bank again.

My husband, however, is questioning the 12:01 AM Sunday UTC vs 8:01 pm EST as two different time frames.

Such as… come reset Saturday evening, we can take out our money, restrictions lifted. But then we WILL become restricted at 12:01 AM EST and… I tried explaining to him that I don’t think… that’s how it works, but that I wasn’t sure, and now he’s not sure and… screw it, we’re both confused.

Help?

Guild wars 2 anniversary sale [merged]

I’m not impressed.

Anniversary sale so far are selling items I already own, so…?

I understand the new players are more than likely loving this, but I am pretty sure veteran Players, like myself, are getting more and more frustrated.

Do I have to wait until day 21 of the 21 Day Sale to maybe get something I don’t already own?
