Hence my inquiry is there was any truth to the rumor. You can really deny that all “unfounded rumors” are false in nature. Most of what I have learned in this game came from word-of-mouth. It would have been silly of me not to double check it and just believe the rumor and pass it on as if it were fact.

What other option are you looking for? Necromancers, just like Elementalists and Mesmers are just another caster class. Their limitations are based on their profession, and there is only so much any caster can do… any class period, can do.

Noe having thought about it. I didn’t know there was a Terrormancer. Okay, that’s cool. But what is it? I would assume it is a necromancer that runs a specific kind of build, like the Berserker.

I’m genuinely curious, why would you quit over something fairly innocuous that has been stockpiled? What had been planned for such a large number of Tomes? I largely disregard them tbh.

What does it matter what had been planned? We all know what the Tomes do, so… really, do you need ask what the plans are?

We’ll just say all in all, my Husband is not happy. Between the two of us, I’m the gamer in the house and he has little time to play. Stockpiling these tomes to make any future progression he makes in the game easier for him to do is something that should be entirely left to his discretion, as with the introduction of these tomes made that an option for him to do.

He read over the new trait changes coming, he doesn’t like it (which, he’s entitled to feel the way he feels, regardless of my opinion). He’s afraid that with the rumor of the removal of tomes, he’s angry as what he has understood of this new trait system; his being a tank will be largely affected. His health pool is greatly contributed to how his places his traits, after this new Specialization Primer, he livid because he think we’ll all have to buy new armor.

That having been said, I cannot disregard his concern over the rumor of these tomes. I hate to say this but it really does feel like ArenaNet is revamping the entire game system on us, and… a few of us… just wanna know… why? That’s all.

I had discussed yesterday with someone in-game that skill point scrolls were to be converted to crafting matts, but.. that’s neither here nor there.

All I know is, when my husband got wind of the new changes coming and the possible deletion of Tomes of Knowledge, after he has stocked piled a stack of them after so long, he… was not happy and pondered quitting.

I too, have about 70 of my own Tomes and I have to look at this in an objective way. The work it took (before the daily rewards system launch) will be negated completely. People like my husband, who have truly to receive and therefore hoard Tomes of Knowledge before the Daily Rewards would be getting nothing more than a slap in the face if they were taken away. All the work it took to get them… when they were so scarce to begin with before the Daily Rewards would be an insult to people like my husband. He feels, and I agree: He worked for this.

It’s very hard not to listen to people when they shout out comments like the following and for some, should this be true, then it totally throws one’s intentions for the future out of whack.

I heard skill points whereto be converted to hero points, okay, I get that… I think, but, I also heard that Leveling Tomes of Knowledge were going to be removed as well. That, I do not know if it’s true or not, and it’s way to early to be speculating I think. I just wanna know if I am being trolled or not on that note. My husband and I, like many others I’ll assume, stockpile Tomes of Knowledge.

IF this is true, can someone please tell me why this feature is being taken away?

Berserker Meta Discussion

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Jaymee.1560

Husband asked me last night what a Berserker was and since he and I don’t run beserkers builds, yet I’m the gamer of the duo, I explained to him what I have come to understand Berserkers are, so please, I will tell you what I told him and IF I am incorrect on this, people school me. (And I ask nicely to please keep it… friendly? I’m not terribly interested in personal opinions that involve how stupid or noobish anyone may think this is.)

First off he and I run “Tank” builds. He always got confused where Ferocity came into play and what it actually was, so I told him:

Beserker builds… Okay, well, I always took them as a simple “Lets See Who Dies First” type of situation. While we as Tanks can talk a heck of a beating in PvE against the game computer enemies, in WvW and PvP… um, yeah… we’d get out butts kicked, big time. I tried Berserker a couple times, it didn’t sit well with me. You lose health faster, yes, but you also deliver damage faster and critically. Faster you do damage, the faster they die and you can move on.

This is what I told him, I don’t know if I am exactly right, but if I’m not, I’m somewhere in the neighborhood of it, but…?

I wish that I could give you an amazing feedback post on the Stress Test but… me being the kind of player that I am, this stress test was… erratic… I couldn’t get a sense of what was going on until 30 minutes before the Stress Test ended. The amount of battles that took place that in such a small amount of time made it a bit difficult for me to learn even the basics of the Revenant. The zone area was kinda.. small in ways that falling 50 million times was something I know I did my first 5 minutes into the test, lol

Okay, so that is just my depressed opinion.

Now my more happier opinion.

I loved the Revanant. The skills she used, the graphics surrounding the skills were amazing! I just think I’ll have an easier time running it once it launches and I’m in an area that is not destroyed by war. It’ll give me a chance to truly learn what the class can do.

What little we could do, it was fine, my husband and I found no glitches, the the glider was so fun, I loved it! Now I just can’t wait to try the mushroom!

This is not a GW 1 vs GW 2... but it is...?

My friend told me that Orr sank around the same time the Ascalon Searing took place in GW 1. True or false? Friend also said that Orr’s sinking would not have affected Ascalon as the two cities are too far apart in distance.

Friend told me that yes, it is possible that the Foefire ritual “King Asinin” set off could be seen from Blazeridge Steppes (I question that one)

I need to also know. How long of a period of time passed between the time of the Searing and the time the Charr reclaimed their homeland of Ascalon?

The Searing breached the Wall. The main charr army poured through the breaches and headed south to Orr instead of stopping to complete their conquest of Ascalon. Vizier Khilbron performed his ritual when the charr army arrived at the gates of Arah, destroying the army and sinking Orr, so it would have happened not too long after the Searing. The Searing was in the fall of 1070 AE, while the sinking was in 1071 AE, so the span was somewhere between a few months and a year. (It would have taken some time for a large army to traverse the Crystal Desert and conquer the outlying areas of Orr.)

I suppose distance was a factor, but I suspect the main reason Ascalon wasn’t affected by the sinking is that it is a high-plains region with no coastline. It does not seem to have been affected much when Orr rose again, either, probably for the same reason. (Though it seems odd that Kryta and the Tarnished Coast don’t seem to have been affected by the sinking either, yet were devastated by the rising.)

Keep in mind that the charr had already reclaimed most of Ascalon — everything north of the Wall up to the Charr Homelands — prior to the Searing, though there were still some pockets of resistance. King Adelbern had to move the capital to the city of Rin, south of the Wall, because the previous capital (Drascir, north of the Wall) had fallen. The only area left for them to reclaim was southern Ascalon.

The destruction of most of the charr army had the benefit of giving the Ascalonians a little time to recover from the Searing and organize a defense of the remains of the Wall against the charr forces that stayed behind. It took the charr some years to rebuild their army to complete the conquest of Ascalon. The final conquest, resulting in the Foefire, did not take place until 1090 AE, about 20 years after the Searing.

I would imagine the Foefire could have been seen from parts of the Blazeridge Steppes. Ascalon City is not that far from the area, and the Foefire did affect a wide area. There are ghosts in the southeastern part of the Brand in Blazeridge, from Serenity Temple on down to the southern border of the area.

Thank you so very much!!!

I am going forth with an idea that I have had for a while now.

I write, therefore I am choosing to write a short-story about how my GW character clan met and allied a friend’s GW character clan.

Friend and I have played GWs for years GW 1 and GW 2… but I have some roadblocks in my way as far as the lore goes.

I did not read the books, so don’t ask, nor I really don’t want to.

Pushy Guild Representation - Right or Wrong?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Jaymee.1560

Eh, I dunno… Can’t really say it’s wrong, so to speak, but do know that it is not widely popular, at least among the players that I interact with. I am apart of several guilds. One is major, one has a HIGH roster count, and that guild never demands required repping.

I suppose it’s just left up to the leader of the guild as to how he/she wants their guild to perform.

Personally, I think it’s… kinda foolish in a way… This is game, it’s not a job and to restrict your guild members to have to rep your guild 24/7… to me… sounds like a job.

Last thing I wanna do is long on my game and have my guild demand that I have to do this or have to do that. But that’s the beauty of it too… I don’t HAVE to be in a 100% rep guild.

I added a picture to better describe what I am about to suggest.

If you intend to make 1 stack of lodestones at one time, it would be great if… we had an option to make them basically all at once.

Based on my picture below, I am pretty much telling many that we are actually clicking 1,000 times to produce a stack of Lodestones from cores… and… well… my hand aches me something horrible by the time I’m not even half-way through the process

Could we have, like, the Mystic Forge pick up the fact that you have enough materials on-hand to forge XXX-amount of the result?

Do that instead of clicking 1,000 times… do 1 click, 2 click 3 click 4… and perhaps a 5th option of the Forge asking you, would you like to craft 250 of them?

And you would say, (well, click, anyway) “Why, yes I would!”

That way I can shave a few layers off my future diagnosis of Carpal Tunnel…

What do you think?

I think a lot of this is being taken out of context. I just… wanted to thank Anet, that’s all, and I really didn’t think it would gain this kind of attention. I’m happy that I was able to get my thoughts out there. For some people, this is more than just a simple game. Thank you to everyone who has understood where I was trying to come from.

Most people unfortunately and I’m sure you’ve experienced this outside of the virtual space as I have, don’t understand the choices people like you and I have to make about even the most basic of basics. Things they don’t have to think about because they take their time and energy for granted. Like having to decide whether or not you can clean the house or go shopping for groceries because you don’t have energy for both that day. Or having to try to stay for a visit at a friends house because you are suddenly having inflammation pain.

I suffer from an extremely rare condition known as Eosinophilia. I was hospitalized 2 years ago when it was aggressively attacking my lungs. I’m still on oxygen daily and I am currently searching desperately for a specialist who knows anything at all about this condition so I understand what’s happening.

I’m sorry you’ve experienced these flame wars on your thread. While I don’t like certain aspects of this game and have since decided to sit back and wait for things to change before joining again in key areas, I felt that my reply to your post not derail your thread and turn it into something it’s not. You’re not advocating for the game you’re expressing something that many gamers experience in many mmo environments so I thought I might share that aspect of the post and save the discussion of design philosophy for another thread. I just wish more had in this case.

From someone who suffers from ongoing problems from disease, I’m happy that you found an online space that you can get the support you need because nothing nothing is more terrible than for people like you and I to be alone when we need support like this.
