Humans have a BIG thing against the mursaat, remember the Saul incident?

He won’t get an easy ride.

Ya know, I often wondered where they took him. He was there, they offered help, he took it, they took their payment for their services. I always wonder where they shoved him.

Are you finding during your gameplay that our toons scream? Now, I just assume this voice over was meant for… say if your character takes a long fall. However, my husband and I are noticing that… we could just simply be standing around… and… our character let out a frightful scream.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Cause, it’s… rather annoying.

Yeah, the birthday would just occur on day 365, and then every 365 days after that.

wait wait wait… okay, so the Feb 29th birthday is obvious first year, but once it lands on March 1st on the second year, it will then forever be March 1st every year that follows?

Here’s an interesting question, I have no clue why I thought of it so suddenly, but, ya know, it happens irl, so I am just as positive that it has happened in game.

If a person creates a character on Feb 29th, ideally their birthday would be the same day every year that follows, but… lol… yeah we all know this one.

So if say you created your toon on Feb 29th, then the following next 4 years will that toons birthday land on March 1st, but then Feb 29th again when the next Leap comes around?

Helpful Hair/Makeover Kit Hint

Wow, thank you so much for pointing this out to me. I received an email from the support team, they are restoring the deleted character who was holding the Perma-Kit.

Thank you SO very much, ArenaNet for giving this back to me. It’s a shame but very true, yet… when it comes to an item such as the Permanent Hair-Styling Kit being deleted, I doubt that falls under the definition of an “accident”, catastrophic seems more like a more suitable description.

Seems so silly to be so stressed out over something that isn’t even a tangible thing, but after waiting for years before getting one, and considering their price value…?

Danikat’s suggestion is a good one. It’s what I do … well, it’s what I do now. If it happens to be an older character, you might also want to check birthday status. I deleted one just before its 3rd BDay, so no dye.

No, it was cool, re-read my last post. I created the character, moments after doing so, I opened my bank and grabbed the perma-hair styling… and noticing that something about the physical appearance, I was like – “Ugh…” logged her out, deleted her and went to remake her again, forgetting I put the perma-kit on her

As far as deleting characters in general? I do everything you had listed… but ti was slo 1 in the morning, brain half asleep, I had forgotten THAT fast that I had the perma kit on her.

I hope so… Ugh, I waited 4 years to nab that Hair styling kit… What had happened was:

I had made a new toon last night, Asura, got her into Pre, and immediately got the kit out of my bank, as I also have the Permanent Bank as well with Shared Invetory slots. Opened the bank, got the kit, gave her a new hair style but… then noted that I forgot to set her eye shape the way I wanted.

Eh, log out, deleted the toon, remake the toon. In the middle of doing that it dawned on me, and I started shaking. X’d out of that and logged on my main to chest my bank, it wasn’t there, and I almost started crying…

Should Anet fix this for me,I will reserve one of my share slots for that kit, so that this NEVER happens again. Even my husband gave me wide eyes of disbelief when I told him.

Auric Basin Loot "Exploit" [merged]

I get why some people would not agree with this way of farming. Talking from experience in the past, some exploits, like the one on the Lyssa temple in Malchors or the beach in Cursed Shores, these particular farm method were found to be disruptive to others who wanted to simply play the zone’s event.

However… and this is just a question… With people also finding a way to do this in AB with the Tarir event, I have participated myself, I have stood aside and just played it regularly while others multi-mapped, and my question is: Is Tarir Multi-Mapping in anyway interrupting the way the others who are NOT multi-mapping, is it interfering with their game play?

By my experience, it’s not, and if it truly isn’t, then what’s the problem? Why would some want it stopped? You can’t freely toss around the “It’s just not fair!” complain, because it’ll be poorly received.

I been playing MMOs since 2001 and I can honestly said not a one of them are 100% fair, and even if it was eliminated, it’s only gonna be a matter of time before the players find something else to exploit. So, if it’s not disruptive to the regular game player, then why campaign for it’s removal?

Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s something that can be “banned” with how the game mechanics work at the moment.

It’s something they’ve been doing since the dawn of MMOs and… it’s just a pestilence that we players actually put in the work have to put up with in-game. Usually how I deal with it is, in MY squads, when I catch an AFKer, they get kicked, period. I’m not above carrying people, but… I only carry other people who deserve TO BE carried.

I’m disabled irl, I don’t man the keyboard as well as most who play do, I’m a bit slower, so… people who have like-problems, I’ll immediately offer to carry them but, afkers? forget it.

My husband and I have… many guilds between us, just guilds that we, he and I, that we are the only members of. All but one of them has a hall. 2 out of the ones who do have halls, those hall have decorations.

So, we wondered…. for MY 1 GH that doesn’t have a hall, I told him, “Hey, if there were more than two options, I would go for it… but, hey, wait… that’s it. I’ll hold off on this guild having a hall until they is a 3rd style!”

Then we discussed it extensively after.

The reason he and I do this is, we are very obsessed repetitive farmers and after every farm or even, we go straight to the hall that is being rep’d… and we shove our money in our guild banks, so…

Whatcha think? Think there will be more than 2 halls in our future? Cause, ya know, GW 1 gave us like a buffet of like 10 hall theme to choose from in that game, so I was just wondering…?

Great, so now I am gathering that the 200g-ish I spend to make banners in my Guild Hall, especially the Hero Banners (And yes, it can get THAT hideously expensive)… is all a waste on my part if I am using them for the Tarir event

sobs

Thank you everyone who took part in this for me. Now I know. Still a bit confused on how a container will “tell” you it’s affected, but… I guess that neither here nor there. Because anything I do that gets me loot never states it is affected by MF so…. I give up

Am I reading this correctly, that HoT event loot IS affected by MF? Cause all I know is, during the Tarir event, especially, I deck myself out with any and all MF sources I have. Now from your reply here, it sounds like… my attempts here are not in vain?

Okay, I am getting very tired of this debate that is, what I call and age-old bicker, in-game about whether MF works or doesn’t work.

I been in this game since it’s launch in 2012 and just today, while doing the Tarir event in HoT, I put up a MF banner and all of a sudden chat goes wild. Back and forth, back and forth, arguments about how MF doesn’t do anything for you when you loot the chests below Tarir.

Yet, in this age old banter, I have read other people say that MF DOES work on containers, yet NOT bags.

Basically, you all get the jist of this and why after 4 years, I am tired of being confused, tired of being in a royal tug of war between those who say it does help, and others who claim it doesn’t.

So, anyone reading this now, Devs most especially, set me straight, okay? Does it help or doesn’t it help, because if it doesn’t help and every little piece of loot in this game is 100% RNG-engineered, then I’m wasting my money in making banners and throwing away my gems and trashing my laurels when buying Item Boosters

Can anyone please help me understand this?

It’s something I never once accepted about GW 2 in all the time I’ve been playing it. It’s almost as if they erased the existence of these two “continents” of the world and RARELY bother acknowledging their existence.

Sure, Logan asks us what our linage is. And some twit outside of the armorsmith in DR is forever missing her grandma’s Red Bean Cakes, but… it seems like that is the only evidence that these two societies even co-existed with Tyria and…. from a storybook point of view… that’s… pathetic, lmao…

Ugh, why are there still people whining about F2P? Seriously. It’s just a dang marketing gimmick for Anet so they could sell more games and make more money. F2P never bothered me. They can’t talk to me, I can’t talk to them.

The Grind aspect in this game is 100% optional, though it seems like more and more people everyday complain about the grinding in this game and the fact of the matter is, if you’re competitive and you want the best of the absolute best, you’re going to grind for it, no matter what. They actual fact here is simply: You never NEED to, or every HAVE to, so stop making it sound like grinding in this game is mandatory – because it’s not. It never was.

You can still get from lvl 1 to lvl 80 with your simple rare, gold/yellow gear and weapons. If YOU want exotic and Ascended, then you’re gonna have to work for it, how is this different than any other MMO out on the market, honestly?

If you’re considering coming back to GW 2 but Diablo 3 is on the table and you’re leaning towards Diablo 3, then go Diablo 3… and then play it until you find something to complain about there. Ugh.

Oh, and the economy is down, you say? Name me one MMO out there whose economy had been 100% stable and on the high note for the entire length of its career.

I remember GW 1 being very rich into the story-telling aspect of the journey we players take.

Guild Decorations & the TP

Yes, but that’s not what I asked, unfortunately. Last month, my husband was buying Divinity Lamps off the TP for 30g each. We had no idea how they even put them up for sale considering. as a Scriber, I see first-hand that anything I’ve made for my hall immediately is sent to Assembly, then immediately to storage once assembled, so we have no clue how they were even put up for sale.

Just recently the sales of the lamps stopped, no more had been up for sale since and it’s been almost 3 weeks that we’ve haven’t seen one.

I was simply wondering HOW they did it and that if anyone here on the forums might have known something. My husband and I just assumed it was a glitched that was exploited, but then again, why is almost all Scribe-made objects even listed on the Trading Post at all? It had to have been a glitch.

(Side note and personal, I’m a lvl 377 Scribe, cried my entire journey there before I paused after hearing of the Quarterly updates coming in a couple of weeks, but judging from what I, personally, have spent making various items, 30g for a Divinity Lamp…. waaaaay too cheap, lol, considering the money I invested to even make one, lmao… I’m glad it’s changing for the future. Okay…

Lets go back a few steps first. I have been in this game since Aug 25th 2012, everyday, love it. Seen many things, crafted many things, made tons of money and lost tons of money, farmed this, farmed that and pay attention to the TP best I can.

Firstly, I never understood why T5 Mats, such as Large Bone, Large Claw, Potent Blood, etc etc etc… tanked in price post-HoT and it took me almost 6 months to find out the reason why on that.

Now…. I have been collecting Freshwater Pearls and Maguuma Lillies while doing my Flax farm everyday and if there is one thing… ONE thing I hate, is when the price is one number this time yesterday and suddenly jumps 50% in price today.

Last night, Lillies were selling for 7g a piece. Tonight, they are selling for 11g a piece, and usually when something like this happens, it means someone apparently knows something I do not so…. Can… anyone help me out here?

I try to stay up to par when it comes to the trading post. but I am finding myself falling 50 steps behind when something changes. Makes me feel dumb…

So 20ish toons dedicated to just flax farming nets you about ~90g per day?

It all depends, really. It depends on how good my Boosters, Banners, food and utility boosters are treating me on any given day.

I have walked away with flax that I roll over to Linseed Oil, from there, roll over to Kegs, and then sell the kegs.

Remember, while hitting both patches, I hit EVERYTHING, ever random Flax, Jungle Plant, and Mussel on my route. Any additional look I get from those, (I.e., Lillies or Freshwater pearls, Elder wood, Ancient Wood, the Strong Boxes, etc) all go into the end total of what I farmed for the day. That can easily turn into anything from 90g to 130g, yes.

Fake money is nice. Real life pain to get that fake money isn’t.

My advice is to cut back on getting that fake gold. Park your chars at one flax spot for a daily harvest. After that, why not do some events in those maps or in the old ones. Find a map where the map bounty is good and run around doing events and getting rewarded for that.

Thank you, Flesh. You’ve been a sweet and a truly objective voice throughout this post, I greatly appreciate this, and I appreciate anyone else who posted just as objectively.

I don’t need to do this at all, really but if I am going to do this, perhaps I don’t need to do the whole mother lode in one sitting. I’m considering on splitting the task in half, doing half now, and the other half later or… just reducing the amount of toons I am using for the farm itself.

Because you’re all correct, what may be fun to start with ceases to be fun once irl pain starts.

What your doing sounds a lot more like work or prep to sell some gold, neither of which seems at all fun.

Btw, while I admit that this kind of flax farming jumps hurtles over being excessive, I think some of the mildly-informed comments that are posted here are… ridiculous.

So, before you wager your vote into the realm of me being a gold seller of any kind, I think you should read people’s posts more thoroughly, cause, who cares what I am collecting this gold for, I am doing this to give myself something to do, cause I don’t feel like doing anything else.

(P.S., yes, I’m annoyed by your amazing theory.)

Why do you need so much gold?

So… I can sit and pretend it was all real money, of course. ~bonk~

In my OP, please recall that I did say that this is considered downtime for me in the game right now, I have nothing else that I want to do right now so I pass the time with farming.

Personally, I think it’s all absurd, having to spend tons and tons of game gold just to be able to hang lights here and place plants there….

You’ve immediately taken the fun out of decorating our guild halls the moment you introduced them by crooning to the “corporate guilds” (as I like to call them). Guilds that have a swooning amount of members in it that make dealing with the hall much easier.

In the ways of upgrading the hall itself, be this as it may… If these are the requirements, then touche, Anet.

In the ways of hanging lights, placing plants and…. just generally making it look less like any other guild hall and more like our own, I call fail. Sorry.

One of my biggest issues is, all my characters are running the Item Booster buff, most of which have the 2 hr. timer on them some, the 20 min timer, and honestly… I am certainly not hoarding those bad boys, and the farm itself doesn’t seem worth doing w/o the Item Booster.

That having been said, with the boost running, I try to make the farm quick as possible so I don’t run the timers out so much, it’s not like I own a thousand Item Boosters, so in this case, I view a rare commodity.

Maybe all of that is feeding into the under-lining issue. I am causing the stress my using so many character to hit both patches, timed because of the item booster and it’s, “Get it done, get it done, get it done…” for what seems worth it every 7 PM cause it does rake me in about anywhere from 90 to 130g a day…

(Side note: 90g to 130g due to the fact that I take the flax, make oil then make Kegs and sell the kegs. It’s the kegs that give me the profit.)

With most players so unable to even keep 5g on their person and having to beg in mapchat for people to buy them things, I thing 90-130g a day is worth the farm… until it start hitting 11 PM and I go looking for the Tylenol…

Of course I enjoy it, but I am beginning to find now… that usually around 11 PM… I start getting a headache, agitated and tired, but… I push to get it done because, if I say… cut the trek in half, only do 12 character post-reset and 12 for the next day, I often worry the risk of screwing up the timer of when the Flax refreshes for my next run.

Ugh, am I making any sense? I’m just wondering if 24 character hitting both patches should take 5 or 6 hours to do or am I just a slowpoke and punishing myself through the tiredness to get it done.
