I switch back and forth often and have never lost progress. If you are sure you are trying with the proper character and this is a fault of the game you will need to contact support for assistance. The link is at the top of the page.

Did you perhaps switch to another craft at some point? You can only show 2 current disciplines at a time unless you buy the “additional crafting license” from the gem store that allows you to have up to 4 concurrently. Speak to the weaponsmith crafting NPC and you should be able to switch back to crafting discipline if you had switched to something else.

Sorry, but the “I want to change my display name because I purchased the game through a means that is against ToS,” argument probably isn’t going the convince Anet to allow display name changes. A display name change may be the least of your concerns at this point. Hopefully the account you are using doesn’t get shut down for violating the User Agreement.

Getting an account is not only from the official homepage. There are several ways to get it, but people, who didn’t get it officially, didn’t get a chance of changing their display name(=their identity), despite they can be still one of GW2 communities. I think it is unfair…

If you obtained an account from a source where that account was previously registered to someone else, and thus the display name was already chosen, then you are indeed violating the rules. In the event of rule violations such as that there is nothing unfair about not being able to change the name. In fact if caught, they are in jeopardy of having the account banned for violating ToS. If this situation applies to you, it is not very wise to broadcast that fact on the official forums.

Open the Hero panel, click the star shaped icon on the left when moused over reads, “Story Journal”. Continue your personal story.

Id be happy with a simple map of the world which you could buy at the store for gems which would at least show you where all the waypoints were, even with them still locked.
You would still have to go there to unlock them , but at least you would know where there was.
Ive been slowly trying to do all the jumping puzzles, and most of the information about them always starts off with “Go to this waypoint” which in most cases is meaningless unless you have previously been there and know where it is.

Infinite GoE’s would significantly trivialize the quest for a legendary. 100’s of times more so than when they removed WvW for 100% completion. It would basically make an account capable of crafting a legendary in much less time. We are not talking hours or a few days, we are talking many days to weeks depending on play time and dedication to the map completion task.

Under the infinite GoE rational, Gift of Battle should be account wide unlock as well. No more ever having to WvW once it is done. All the other gifts as well, no more farming for mats. You see where this is going. Once you have all the gifts unlocked for your account all you ever have to do is acquire the precursor.

Trivialize making a legendary? I thought that be able to straight up buy from TP was already trivializing….

Yes, make gift of batte account wise makes sense. Oh wait, badges of honor are already account wise and the cost for the gift is so cheap that it is a joke. 1gift = 5 alpha golem blue prints…..

Yes it would trivialize the process for those that craft them and either chose to keep them or sell them on the TP for those that wish to buy.

Also I was talking about making all Gifts infinite like you suggested for GoE. If you are going to make it infinite for one gift, might was well make it for all. Why not? If map exploration is taken out of the equation once unlocked you might as well take away all the other requirements once unlocked, right? Way to pick one example I mentioned even though I stated all gifts later on in my post to try to support your argument.

If you can’t see the flaws in your idea that GoEs should be infinite once unlocked I don’t know what to tell you aside from I am most certain that will never happen. Good luck with your idea though.

I run with Volcanus on my Mesmer but that is because I have an overall fire theme. It really depends on what look you are going for.

I think you were referring to my post about toggling on and off the ability to have unlocked waypoints. But I said if you have it turned on to have them unlocked then you would be given a warning that you will stay at 0% map completion no matter what you do until you turn the feature off and therefore the waypoints back off. Or you would stay at whatever percent your character is at such as 20%, which would remain locked at 20% when turning the feature on until you turned it off. Though that also sounds hard to do on a programming stand point.

Yeah, my bad. I misread and thought you meant once turned off all the player would have to do is go to the WPs to get 100%. I see you meant, once turned off players would have to still do all the hearts, vistas, and POIs again to get 100%.

Just so I understand. So once you complete the map on one character you get infinite Gifts of Exploration? Yeah that won’t fly with people that have done 100% on several alts for those gifts.

Why not just halve the rewards? One item instead of two, half as many materials, one Gift of Exploration at the end.

Because having all WPs unlocked makes map completion much, much easier. I can only imagine how much faster I could do it with all WPs unlocked. I’m guessing it would cut my time in more than half. If a player wants the luxury of having all WPs unlocked they don’t get the rewards. That seems fair to me. In other threads on this topic, people in support of account wide WP unlocks have also stated they would be willing to give up map completion rewards.

If your girlfriend does not hear from support after 72 hours a ticket number can be posted for review in the sticky thread located in this forum.

I held off from posting in this thread because I don’t like the idea. I don’t think it would be something used by many and feel it would be a waste of development resources. It has nothing to do with, “This is why we can’t have nice things.” It has to do with the amount of work that would go into it to produce an item that would not be used by the masses in my opinion.

The item, as proposed in the revised OP brings little to over all game play. Yes, it might be nice for a few people that like writing things, but overall GW2 players want more game play changes. Every minute dedicated to developing such an item would most likely take away from developing more game updates that would appeal to the majority of the player base. I’m sure I’ll take heat from the few in this thread that support it, but I don’t care.

Look at the Community Creations forum and the fiction posted there. For the most part, no one seems to care. Using development resources to add the same thing in game seems like a waste of resources to me. Sorry but I’d rather see the developers spend more time on things that will appeal to the bulk of the player base. Flame, on.

It sounds like you want it both ways. You don’t want to do dungeons with a L80 but you want to do speed runs on low level characters. Well you can’t have both in most cases. There is no rule against starting your own LFG for dungeons/fractals based on your own terms. You could always try starting your own LFG for example, “P1 I’m L62 exp players please.”

I never understand the people that say things like, “Everyone on LFG only wants X”. It is as if people have some fear of starting their own LFG based on what they want. The reason you see the “Only want X” more often on the LFG tool is because the more relaxed LFG posts fill up faster.

If you stop the download you will not lose progress. Once you launch it gain it starts where you left off. The display may seem a bit misleading because once started again it will show 0% downloaded but if you notice the files remaining should be where you left off.

I’ve since come back and become addicted once more, but i’m not even bothering with my display name again because it reverted to my old key again (not my gw2 cdkey dont worry). Sounds like you need to submit another ticket. That is unless the numerical display name has grown on you.

Feedback on the Revenant should be posted in the Revenant forum. Feedback on Stronghold should be posted in the PvP forum. I have seen red posts in threads posted in the appropriate forum so it appears they are following the feedback.

You should not buy a Mac if a significant interest is playing GW2 or gaming in general. The current GW2 Mac beta is just a cider port. It is functional but far from optimal. A lot of people have continued problems with the Mac client. It has been out almost 3 years and I expect the client to stay in Beta and never progress past just being a cider port. Support for the Mac client over the years has been lacking as well.

Of course you could play via Bootcamp which some state does improve performance a bit. But that would require you to install Windows on your Mac.

On July 10th, 2015, they increased the character slot limit to 67 because of the veteran player Heart of Thorns bonus character slot. This slot was free if you purchased Heart of Thorns on a older account, otherwise it can be purchased with gems.

We get it Dark, the game might be too hard for you, even though several people have offered to help you. If HoT is too hard for you, sorry for your luck. Like I said before, many people complain that the game is too easy. Maybe HoT will be difficult and it will leave you behind. If that is indeed true, there is no reason to make a scene about it. GW2/HoT isn’t for everyone. Maybe it is time to realize that, wait to see how HoT pans out, and if it doesn’t include easy mode for you, move on. There is nothing wrong with not playing a game that is too hard for you.

If you upgraded and received the items for the the expansion plus the beta slot then you are indeed upgraded to HoT. There is nothing else you need to do and you will have access to the expansion when it is released. However, you may want to try to track down the serial code that should be in your email if you bought from the in game store or the web store. It is a valuable piece of information to have should you need to contact customer support and they ask for it.

If you bought the expansion via the in game store your account is automatically upgraded. You can verify this by logging in and seeing if you have a beta slot. You also should have received an email with the serial code with a note to keep it for your records.

If you bought the game via the GW2 web store you should have received an email with instructions on how to upgrade. Namely, go to register.arena.net, click the , “Already have an account? Sign In” link, log in, and then you will see an area to add the code.

If you purchased the expansion from an authorized retailer, the same as above applies, go to register.arena.net, click the “Already have an account? Sign In” link, log in and add your serial code.

Sorry but with a $600 budget you are unlikely to find anything that can play GW2 or other games on high or ultra settings, especially if you are not building yourself.

Well maybe you should just wait on HoT then until it has been out for a while and there are some walk throughs and videos available. That way you can make a more informed decision. There is nothing wrong with that.

The difficulty of the game can’t cater to everyone. Heck many people complain the game is too easy.
