I’m convinced they stay at “Very High” all the time now, even when there’s one person per server. Seriously though, I literally played for 9 hours non-stop about a week ago and I traveled through each and every map so I could explore the world. Guess how many people I saw? 6 people. 6 people in 9 hours is unbelievable, even for GW2. Oh yeah, 4 of those people were in LA when I went there to do some selling. Yet, when I logged off and checked my server population, it still said “Very High”. At that point I was basically jumping up and down yelling BS! BS! while pointing my finger at the screen. And yeah, my server’s WvW is hopelessly gone forever. Nobody plays it anymore and I can’t gather enough people to even take a small tower. I’d like an answer to this as well, but Anet removed a similar thread like this, so I don’t know if we will get one.

Maybe other players are purposely avoiding you.

No. Race and size should not have special abilities. You would have nothing but Norn Warriors and Azura thief’s. Wait… NM

Actually I could see a race change option in the future. There are several options they could pursue to do this. One option could be upon race change you re select all your story modifiers and start off with a brand new slate; only you are what level you were at them time you began the race change.

This topic pops up here about every other day and I have yet to see Anet respond to it aside from this thread, although 2 months old, doesn’t seem to provide much hope since there has been no news.

I have seen other threads where people claimed to have seen an official response saying no but they can’t be validated.

Personal story and race go together. This is probably why this will not be an option. Also all races have the same base speed. Only traits, signets, and buffs increase speed and that is dependent on the profession. Norns just look slower because of their size and animation.

I would rather have another utility skill than an elite skill on some of my characters. Some elites are as useful as a utility skill while others are are not. Sometimes it feels like a wasted skill slot.

I agree and some of them are just about worthless especially the racial elite skills. The first character I leveled enough to get an elite skill was my Sylvari Ranger. I was excited and of course I hate doing homework so I selected Summon Sylvan Hound thinking cool a temporary second pet. I found out very fast that it was basically a slow casting, low damage projectile. Two seconds to cast, it stands there for about 5 seconds before it decides it needs to do something, attacks mob once, gets hit twice, dies. Yeah that’s real elite. LOL

So yes, let me as the player decide what is an elite skill to me to put in that slot.

I require absolute 100% rep time in my guild. No excuses and members are required to do what I say when I say. They are also required to contribute gold during each session they are online. But it's just me in my personal bank guild so it's never a problem. ....

No choices such race and profession should be permanent and I’ll say it anyway. If you want to play a different race or profession roll an alt. If you can’t level up then you must just spend all your time in main cities chatting in /map because that’s about the only way you can’t earn XP.

I use it as a gimmicky trick every now and then when I know I won’t need anything else just because it looks kind of funny.

It is an achievement that comes naturally as I play the game. I have no desire to have a legendary or a title related to map completion so unless some aspects of the game take me there naturally I’ll never achieve 100%.

How would you limit the subform to only people on a certain server since there is no login information specific to a server? They would have to create server specific login information just for the subforms which would probably end up being a mess. Also people change servers all the time. Lastly there is a way to communicate with people on your server but is limited to region of course. /map

I believe an LFG tool is in the works. Not sure of the ETA though.

I don’t usually use terms like this but people that make threats of violence against game developers because of something in a game truly do need to get a life. Then again I don’t have much positive to say about people who make threats of violence in general.

Lots of people complain or say they would ruin the game, but I have yet to see a single reason that could not be easily fixed or was beyond “WoW had mounts, so I hate mounts.”

I’ve said these things before. Giant Norn on giant mount blocks your field of view even more. The probability of major clipping issues. Excess screen clutter and increased effects GPUs have to process decreasing FPS. Fun.

Also I am not a programer for Anet and I highly doubt you are either. The “easy to do” and “easy to fix” argument just doesn’t fly because we do not know that.

I don’t like mounts and I don’t care what games had them or didn’t I don’t want to see them in the game. My opinion on that is just as valid as the opinions of people that want them.

I’m holding on to those Pavilion tickets just in case they happen to turn out like support tokens. Chances are they won’t but since I will never use them anyway it doesn’t hurt to keep them for a bit.

I’m color blind and about the only nodes I can see on the mini map are the mines. With trees and plants I am out of luck until I run across them exploring. In many cases I can’t see the red rings that indicate events. So I suppose, using your example, I’m at a slight advantage as far as exploring is concerned.

If there was a system where you would actually be forced to stable your mount, half of the annoyance would disappear (for me at least) as the most irritating thing I know with mounts is people who stand in the main city in front of/inside the TP or Bank or any other important NPC with their over-sized, double-headed, flaming horse-creature with wings, blocking the vision and thinking they look soooo cool on their 200$ mount that daddy bought them.

One possible problem would be character or mount scaling, specifically for Norn. A full sized Norn on a mount would either take up half the screen or look like it was riding some tiny animal. Plus mounts add more screen clutter, are more invasive in another player’s field of view, and I can’t even imagine what kind of clipping issues might occur.

I agree with Safer Saviour. For me, mounts would probably drive me out of the game. When they came out in WoW, I got my mount (hey neat), started hating seeing them everywhere and within a week or so I canceled my subscription. GW2 has no subscription but I do buy a large amount of gems a month so, well.. I guess that would be the end of that for me.

It is a one time use item and an expensive one to craft at that. It can’t be used in WvW. I certainly don’t see it making Mesmers obsolete. Of course as others have said even without portals Mesmers are very, very useful to have on your side.

I’m not completely against the perma-use tool items, but the thing about this salvage kit that I don’t understand is in regards to how it’s supposed to save inventory space. If it’s not going to have a return chance at all with sigils/runes, then you’re going to wind up carrying extra salvage kits anyway.
I usually carry a Basic, a Mystic, and a BL salvage kit. So buying this would be swapping out a Basic salvage kit (and did I read this right that I’d need to carry a stack of copper ore?!o.O )

It doesn’t use copper ore it costs 3 copper per use and works the same as a basic salvage kit. I generally use basic salvage kits on anything green and below so it clears up a lot of bag space fast for me.

But how is buying a salvage kit or mining tool a problem or annoyance? You’re visiting a merch to sell your crap constantly… If its too hard for some1 to double click and buy a new salvage kit/mining tool, that’s extremely lazyness and its not like anet is selling them for cheap, they’re charging $10… If you bought the kit and all three mining tools that’s $40, enough to buy another copy of the game. This kit is even more useless than perma mining tools were and that is saying a lot.

See, I’m not constantly visiting merchants and now I need to even less. It takes one bag slot as opposed to 2 or more. When my bags fill up (I’m maxed on bag slots) I can quickly salvage greens, blues, and salvageable items, click once and send the mats to my bank. I can do this several times without once having to go to a merchant. Additionally I admit I can be a bit absent minded at times and having these tools protects me from that because I don’t have to worry about “leaving home without it.”

Hey they aren’t for everyone but for people like me they are and they are worth it. When and if they bring back the other infinite tools I’ll be gearing up most of my alts with them because I didn’t have the foresight to do so when they first came out.

I carry my check card with me everywhere I go and it has a substantial amount of money available with a high daily spending limit. That money is for all sorts of things, bills, food, gas and other things. Your comment was that you were afraid you would “fritter it away”, in other words blow it, waste it so forth. I could easily do so with my check card but I exercise self control just like I do with my in game coin. Yes I have savings accounts too but at any time I have access to those as well. I could blow all of it in one night in Las Vegas if I was careless and thus “fritter it away”.

If you are that worried set yourself a minimum balance. That is what I do. I have my minimum set to a number that I know will cover all my alts needs just in case I need it. I don’t spend coin that will go below that. Everything else is “play money” (well technically it’s play money anyway). I do the same thing with my check card account as an emergency fund.

I’m for anything that will reduce the number of players guesting on my server in popular areas. It’s a bummer to login on your home server and get kicked into overflow because people want to guest there due to the popularity. I say send them to your hardcore server instead.

Running on all 4s is part of their race. Plus what would options for others be? Humans running on all 4s?

Just gender, hair, height and so forth. Race is part of the personal story so I doubt players will ever be able to do so. As for your suggestion about profession, I am against that as well. I feel if you want to play a profession you should have to start from the ground up.

For my human characters it is so they can run away faster.

Learn to manage your coin like you would real money. Don’t go hog wild every time you see some shiny on the TP.

Yeah, I got a race change kit during a dragon event. Two to be exact. Well it’s called a total make over kit that allows you to change your race if you wish. You can change height, hair, hair color, eye’s and color and your race.

I’ve used total makeover kits and never seen that option. You can change gender and appearance. I just looked at the wiki and it says you cannot change race. I thought the reasoning behind not having race changes was due to the personal story.

They should remove it completely from every salvageable item. I know how to pause .5 seconds and look before I click it. I have the self-control not to spam left click every time I do something.

I agree that an option to turn it off completely would be great. If that can’t be worked into the game somehow then just turn it off across the board. At least for anything below rare. It isn’t like there is anything mind blowing about masterwork and below.
