I hear a very similar sound from time to time recently. It always makes me look at my mail icon or the chat window to see if something is going on.

Perhaps they should disable guesting so people would stop guesting to the high pop servers. Maybe then those zones on your server would have more players. This is just another suggestion thread trying to corral people from their home servers. Many of these players have paid to transfer to their servers because of the community on that server not to be pushed into some global community. Perhaps some of you should create an unofficial low pop merge server where players could guest to fill these zones instead of trying to force other players off their home server.

You just missed it a few weeks ago. They brought all the tools back for a limited time. I’m guessing they will be back again sometime in the future as they seem popular.

Although I’m not an RPer, I specifically looked for an RP server because of the increased atmosphere and immersion that RPers around me help to provide, especially in the cities which are usually deserted on other servers.

I’d rather things stayed as they are. I have no need to have the RP chatter replaced by “LOL, noob” and derogatory comments about my religion and/or what some 12-year-old would like to do to my mother, thanks.

For those of you saying that GW1 had such a system and it was fine – GW1 was heavily instanced. Outside the hubs, there was nobody around except the party you created.

and a district is a completely different thing, it’s not an instance it’s a shard where a certain amount of ppl walk trough.
you’re thinking way to much inside the box, outside the box is more roomy for better ideas.

in case you need a small example on how this would be, imagine you can use your skills in a town, now imagine enemies in the town.
that’s how districts work, it has nothing to do with instances.

But the OP’s idea is to corral people from different servers into the same region. Myself and others are saying we do not want that. We enjoy the community on our server and people like myself transferred to a server based on the community. Many others have remained on their home server because of the community as well. Pushing people from all servers into shared areas would taint that.

The whole argument seems kind of pointless to me because I think if Anet wanted to do this they would have carried it over from GW1.

This bothered me as well until I noticed something. I was having problems getting baubles quickly because I’m not very good at the SAB but I wanted enough to get a skin. I found that you can easily get 60-70 baubles in the areas just before the 2nd checkpoint in a very short time, about 2 minutes. So perhaps this is in place to slow down farming of this area?

That’s tough because that awesome reduced price on waypoints period messed up all my calculations.

Ack I missed another daily. I just logged in and thank goodness all my stuff was still there and all my characters were the same level. I was scared for a moment.

I’m on my server because I like the community on my server as a whole. I transferred twice to find the community that fit me best and I’m sure I am not the only one. It does not just apply to a small group of friends. I don’t want to have to district hop to find the community I enjoy spending time with. Also you have to consider the RP community that would have to run around trying to find each other in different district overflows. There are large groups of people and guilds, not just a few groups of friends that it would be a real pain to organize getting together in the same place trying to find districts that are not full. I don’t even like having guesting. Maybe if all those guesting folks stopped hopping to the other servers then zones on their server would be more populated.

I have around 2M karma because I don’t like basil leafs.

Weapons, armor, and trinkets that had a magic find stat combo have been flagged as account bound and Soulbind on Use. These items will now allow double-clicking to permanently change the stat combo. Items that were already Soulbound to a character will continue to be bound to that character.

No. I want to play with people on my server. That is why I am there. I don’t want to go into a zone and have no idea who I will be playing with and from what servers. Or to find out the people I enjoy playing with got into the first zone server and my timing was bad and I got there after it was filled and I am now kicked into a different server. It is bad enough when I get kicked into overflow on my server and a bunch of people are guesting there taking home server spots.

Although I don’t know numbers I don’t like the idea of going into overflow on my home server because others are guesting and taking slots. If anything people on their home server should have priority in the cue to leave overflow before guests.

Twerking is idiotic at best and given the nature of the dance it may not fit within the “T” rating of the game. -100 for twerking. Chickens, well I don’t care either way.

The first time I got a mini I thought it would pretty cool. I activated it and noticed it was never near me unless I was standing still for several seconds. Then I noticed it deactivated when changing zones. I deposited it in my bank and never put a mini in my bags again. They are a waste of inventory space. I sell the ones I can now and let them chase after someone else that doesn’t mind it.

It would make them much better if, like you suggested they staid with the character and if they didn’t deactivate when you change zones. Heck, I noticed that a lot of the time standing still they still keep a distance like I had not washed my armor in years.

@OP IMO you are not missing much with SAB unless you enjoy feeling like smashing your computer to pieces with a hammer, shoving the pieces in a garbage disposal and then breaking your fingers with the same hammer so you have no chance of trying it again. Also it almost game me a seizure.

My memory is so bad I can’t even remember what is going on in my personal story. I hate the personal story and it seems like just some task I’m suppose to do running about and stuff. I have not done more than maybe a 6-7 parts of the personal story on any of my characters just because I can’t remember why I am doing what.

Yeah that would be nice until they saw you sent them a black lion key and then they block you and remove you from friends.

Sorry but there is no way the champion boar provides enough bacon for the zergs rolling the champion cycle all day.

I avoid underwater at all costs. It’s clunky and annoying. With my luck the next Living Story achievements will be some underwater version of SAB that also includes doing 300 45 minute underwater invasions.

I don’t keep count. If I had to guess I would say around a dozen a month maybe a bit more.

I’ll just say i’m glad there is a mute instrument option. So as far as I’m concerned crank it up as long as the mute option applies to it as well.

it’s not loud at all, you can barely hear it.

I don’t care I don’t want to hear it at all. After messing around with Stupor Adventure Box for way to long (about 4 hours total in my case) that music makes me want jam pencils into my ear drums and then jump out of a 50 story window.

Cobalt works great in that jumping puzzle in LA where the lights go on and off at the end part. I was looking at some skin galleries but I didn’t see a pistol skin. Given the look of most pistols though I’m probably not missing much. I have been trying to get the SAB backpack because I want to use the SAB pistols on my p/p thief but I’ll never get that junk done. I’m terrible at it and I typically avoid games that make me want to rip my face off, throw my computer out the window and then set it on fire.

I have not seem the boom box in game but I hope the mute instruments option works with it as well.

Champ routes have made the game better for beginners in Queensdale. I always see people complaining that zones are empty, and leveling is a lonely process. Well, in Queensdale it’s not. There are people talking to each other, communicating objectives, teaching others about the game, and making the leveling process for people in this zone much more social and welcoming.

Not on my server. It is a mindless zerg of L80s running in circles and taking up chat constantly talking about what’s next, where to go next, and so on. They act like they are on some legendary crusade and leading each other to a massive victory.

There is no teaching going on and low level characters are lucky to get to the champs in time if they don’t join the mindless zerg. Heaven forbid you enjoy an actual fight with a champion because the zergs turn it into an auto attack fest. If you start a champion like Troll without waiting for them to do whatever champ they are on or for their cycle they get rude and angry about it. They act like they are in charge of the map and expect other players to play their way. These zergs are not going around helping other players or contributing in a fun conversation. They are just WP to WP swarming over every champion as soon as they spawn.

I actually spend a lot of time in Queensdale because I like helping new players and lower level players. This mess is not helping them one bit. If someone asks a question in chat it gets buried by zerg fest banter before most people see it. Sure the zerg fest isn’t taking over the rest of the map but they certainly are not contributing either.

People would abuse it. People would dislike every post by someone just because they don’t like them and without considering the quality of the post itself. I’ve seen it happen with just about every forum that has such a feature. Also I believe with the thumbs up option posts that have a thumbs up with a star on them have been up-voted by several people as opposed to posts with just a thumbs up.

In wvw it’s a big deal. I’ve been in many, many fights where I won or lost by only a few hundred health.

I thought we were all supposed to be equal in any sort of PvP.

Are you new to this game? WvW uses ascended gear, therefore people with ascended > people without

I’m not exactly new, but I haven’t done any WvW. I’ve been wanting to get into it, but it looks like that’s out because I refuse to grind for ascended gear.

I was under the impression that everyone is equal when doing any sort of PvP. Looks like I was wrong.

You can still enjoy WvW without all the best gear in the game. Sure you may not want to go running Rambo style alone into a group of enemies but there are still things you an enjoy. I suggest shying away from PvD groups though. It’s a little boring.

I run a p/p thief and really enjoy it even if it isn’t optimal. I do almost all solo PvE and I’m a little slow on buttons so I use passive utility skills: Assassin’s Signet for increase power, Signet of Agility for increased precision, and Signet of Shadows for increased movement speed but swap it for bigger battles with Infiltrator’s Signet for that extra little bit of initiative since the fights will last longer. My thief is only level 35 so far so I have some trait points in Deadly Arts for power and Critical Strikes for precision but I also dropped 10 points into Trickery for Uncatchable which drops caltrops on dodge. I find this handy since I’m trying to stay at medium range and Unload is my best friend. When mobs close in I can dodge back cripple and bleed them to keep some separation and to allow some time for my in initiative to recharge.

As far as gear I max out at my level for power and precision as well. I guess I’m going with the if I kill them faster they can’t hurt me as much concept. Using the signets and traits lines I mentioned you could probably fiddle a bit with gear and trinkets to drop a bit into toughness/vitality without giving up too much power and precision.

At the least, players on their home server should take priority over guests while in the cue to leave overflow. There is no way for me to determine how many guests might have pushed me or other players on my home server into overflow. However, I don’t like the idea of being pushed into overflow while guests on my server are taking up spots.

I think they should add doing laundry. My armor must be pretty ripe by now. No wonder my mins stay so far away from me.

Just mute yourself by not typing in chat. Self restraint is a very good thing to practice aside from knowing which keys to press in PvP. To answer your question they can’t just mute you in chat. Well they can but it usually includes several days without being able to play at all and ultimately never being able to play again. So choose, self restraint or Anet imposed vacations.

I can’t even find stuff to spend my karma on. I think I have bought stuff with it maybe a dozen times and most of that was when I was new with new alts getting those crappy trinkets after finishing a heart. Oh, and I bought a recipe once because the crafting guide said I needed it.

After further review I’m almost certain this is part of the new and improved forum search function. It went from getting almost no results to not being able to search at all to this. Up next every page on the forum will just show this…

@OP Romance is much, much, much more fun IRL. I’ll keep my efforts there and don’t need to waste them in a game.

Pickpocketing: When I played Ultima Online in the early days you could steal from anyone and it was great. There was one problem though, if you got caught you could be attacked. So, long story short when I first logged into GW2 I tried a thief and saw a skill called steal. “Awesome!” I thought. I started running up to NPCs hitting the steal key and nothing happened. I tried it on mobs and other players and nothing happened. I then rolled all other professions and my Thief is still on the shelf.

Champ zergs in Queensdale have totally trashed the champs in the map. Some people like myself enjoy actually fighting the champs with my lower level characters. Now each champ is a massive auto attack zerg. If you start Troll before their zerg circle gets there they throw a fit in chat. Queensdale is pretty much garbage now because of that and /map chat is trashed as well with constant chatter of which champ is next and blah blah. I’ve seen people ask good questions that get buried by zerg banter. It’s too bad really. Personally I would like to see them remove the loot bags from the starter map champs.
