The search is broken. It’s basically a box you can type things in to see what might, if anything, comes out. It is the forum equivalent of a crude salvage kit. The best way to get results is to use Google and type “guild wars 2 forum (what you are looking for here)”.
That being said, I do not want mounts in GW2.

If that was implemented and you transmuted a medium hat onto heavy armor you should be forced to wear trench coats as well for all eternity.
I’m off to the dentist Tuesday, so no I’m not looking forward to it.
I don’t see your post as a suggestion. Perhaps you should have posted in the Mesmer subforum or players helping players. Also I see a lot of Mesmers in WvW they are very handy to have around.
Other websites & software make a big deal out of keeping the user ID private/secret in order to prevent brute force hacking of accounts (“Never share your login data with anyone, including not just your password, but also your ID!”) …
… just saying.
Your email address and password are part of your login not your username or in the case of GW more or less a screen name.
I think this is one of those things where Gaile will post here and explain the issue. Everything else is kind of just going back and forth in this thread.
I wonder what type of players WoW was targeting when they made a commercial with Chuck Norris.
What would WvW guesting add to the game anyway? How would these outweigh the negatives that it would introduce?
They wouldn’t. Additionally players guesting into WvW would be taking a spot in the cue from someone on their home server.
Maybe you should leave T1.
Why should I leave my server? I don’t mind the cue that much but I certainly don’t want it lengthened by players guesting from another server.
The only numbers I think you might be able to get data somewhat related to your query is from GWSpidy. It looks like there is only one for sale at the moment.
Well, it’s arguable. There are more events in Queensdale, although there is Fire Elemental in Metrica. On Jade Quarry, whenever I go to Metrica, there’s always people there.
I guess it’s a matter of server.
I’m on TC and there are always many more people in Queensdale. Metrica and the other starter maps are not barren by any means but you are more likely to run into larger groups of players in Queensdale and /map is more active. From my experience Caledon Forest is the most barren. I hate that place and most of my characters are Sylvari.
You will probably find more players in Queensdale as opposed to other starter maps. It seems to be the popular place to start leveling. Some of that I think has to do with it being somewhat easier to navigate and some events easier as a whole. Human is also the most popular race. Also a lot of people go there to run the champion circuit.

Talk is cheap because supply exceeds demand.
Dcypher and others have made a lot of valid points for dueling, while all I see for the argument against dueling is “REQUEST SPAMS” which is very easily avoided, and is pretty much already implemented with the costume tonics. Is it really that hard to tick the “Decline all duels” box once and be done with it?
Then you didn’t read through the thread carefully. There are a lot of posts from people who would not like to see open world dueling covering how they feel it would affect various aspects of the game negatively. I’m not going to hash them all out in one post for you but they are there, just take another look.
Make sure you read this thread as well.

My Thief is semi-retired. I don’t care for the Thief play style but when the Molten pickaxe came out I gave her one before I figured out I didn’t really want to play Thief. Now she is parked at my home instance to mine the crystal node. Heck I almost never even do that anymore because I have no use for it and the novelty wore off quick.
My other 11 alts just get to take some vacation time every now and then.
The population isn’t split between hard core and casual, there are 3 million people in between the two extremes. ANet targets its game to maximise the people who will benefit, and hence retain them. ie. it’s the people in the middle (bell curve) that they target.
These casual vs. hardcore threads pop up about once a week and I always find it odd that people insist on labeling the entire player base on these two extremes. There is a lot of grey area between the two and I imagine a significant player base that fits into that grey area.
I wish they would just speed it up. I know how to check my inventory to see what I got. I don’t need some slow scrolling display.
I thought every karma item was soulbound on acquire. At least I recall it being that way from the first karma item I ever purchased with my first character up until now.
When this comes up I always agree with it. The less stuff in game I have to confirm the better. I know how to pause half a second before I click something to make sure I’m not screwing it up. I don’t need a button to second guess me.
It’s not our fault most hardcore players have no jobs or responsibilities. Let them game hop. Most hardcore players are negative and drag down the community.
and the casuals would be happy even if from now on the only added content was My Little Pony so your point?
I’d prefer My Little Nuke Cola.
There are many other things I would like to see them spend their time on then something like /fart. Good grief.
Whoa buddy, I think quite the contrary, considering part of my love for games, is delving into the experience of the game, and adding such emotes, would not only enable humorous things to do on your spare time, but add to the overall feeling that this game is alive and active.
I guess if you find making fart noises as a humorous activity in your spare time I could see why you want it. I outgrew fart humor when I was around 10. I’d prefer not to be at the bank in LA and having people spamming /fart non-stop.
Whoa buddy, I’m Level 80, and still find those things humorous, and when i was level 10, i didnt quite get it, so i think fart humor develops in as you level, still though, you cant disagree this idea is pretty super awesome idea.
I hope you are just being goofy now. Also I am not your buddy.
I bought the CE, I'd like the Heroic items

I recently purchase GW2 to play with a friend. It has been less then a month since I purchased it. If I knew they where going to be adding new items I would have delayed my purchase of the digital deluxe edition and just upgraded. In my opinion, I feel that I have paid for items/service that has not been rendered.
About 3 months ago I purchased a membership package at a gym. Not long after that I saw an advert where they were offering the same package but also included a bi-weekly session with a personal trainer. Of course I thought I might as well enquire but was informed it was for a promotional package only. It would have been nice had I known and could have chosen to wait but I can’t predict the future. I still have access to my gym and everything else I paid for. That’s just how these things work.
Wait ppl still use Ebay!? I though Ebay was a borderlands in wvw to destroy!
Yes indeed.. A portion of my income comes from eBay. It’s much better than flipping on the TP.
I don’t think being a casual player means game hopping. I have played MMOs for a very long time dating back to the original Ultima Online, well MUDs if you count those. I used to spend a lot of time playing up until 2008 when I got burned out on WoW and I had other priorities in life. GW2 is the first MMO I have played since then. I don’t play sometimes for 4 or 5 days depending on what is going on. I never schedule game time but play when it fits in. That doesn’t mean I’m going to just start playing a different game during that time. I enjoy the game and will continue to play until I no longer enjoy it.
When I used to play a lot, specifically WoW, I almost felt like I had to make time to play and I often scheduled things around that. I looked back at one point and realized the time I had invested in it was kind of lost time. I wasn’t having much fun anymore and there were other things in life I had missed out on. I can’t and won’t do that again. I have a lot more going on outside of a game that I am responsible for and that I enjoy. I don’t see where that means I’m going to switch to another game in a month. I’ve been playing over 4 months as it is. The good thing about GW2 is I can avoid the login screen as often as I want and I don’t really feel like I’m falling behind aside from some of the LS stuff but since gaming isn’t a priority it doesn’t bother me.
I don’t see how casual play means losing interest and going on to some other game in a month. In fact it has been the opposite for me because GW2 works well with keeping my interest in the small amount of time I play.

Account bound* Character bound means on just one char..
I see what you mean, but I think its still nice getting a drop/somthing random that can just give you Karma.
I think its nice actually having an item to give you karma, also it gives an actual use for karma boosts and if they go away my karma ascended trinkets will be deemed useless.
Only annoying thing is opening them when you save them up ;p
The karma boosts won’t work on consumable karma as of the 3rd of September. It was originally on the 20th of August update but due to poor communication they extended it to the 3rd of September.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-August-20-2013/
General
The amount of karma granted from consumable karma items has been increased. Karma boosts no longer affect the amount of karma gained from consumable items.
The minimap and objective list no longer disappear when a character is downed or defeated.

i would love to know how often i die ALOT, (elemetalist btw)
If you want to know how often you die type /deaths in chat. Then you can type /age and figure out how many times you have died per hour sort of. An average of sorts I suppose. Hard to tell for sure because of time you spent in cities and what not.
You say that like you can’t die in cities
Sure I do it all the time from being dumb and falling. Sometimes I jump to my death on purpose during RP. My Mesmer doesn’t really like himself so he is a bit self-destructive at times.

’Nuff said.
No ’Nuff said.
1. Did you get what you paid for when you bought the edition that you did?
2. Did the edition you purchased state that you would receive bonus items offered in future editions?
If you answered “yes” and then “no” I think you should know what the answer to your question is.

I enjoy the game much more for some reason when I stay away from the forums. That being said, I suppose I should not have even posted this.
Do you have your keyboard set to use the “F” keys as standard function keys? If not they won’t work by just pressing the “F” key alone. If you don’t have it set that way you will need to press the “fn” key plus the “F” key you want to use.
You can change this by going to System Preferences > Keyboard and then select the keyboard tab on the top to the left of the keyboard shortcut tab. There is a check box to set them as standard function keys.
If Anet wants to put ugly faces on human males I’ll be glad to send them my picture to model them from. Of course any characters modeled after my face would also have to come with it’s own passive fear skill.
First I believe your post belongs in the suggestion forum as this is not a issue with your account. Staff has stated that display name changes can cause problems when certain players are tracked as far as being blocked by other players, suspensions and so forth.
Honestly I think part of Anet’s concern should be how the busted up search function reflects on their product for potential new players. If I had come to the forum to see what people were talking about as far as the game and tried to do a few searches and get maybe 1 result that was relevant I might wonder what else is going on as far as the game itself.
Perhaps they should have just gone with a clean and simple phpBB or similar and put less worry on the graphics. Sure it looks nice and all but it would look nicer if I could search for things and find them. My default search function for this forum now is Google where I type “Guild Wars 2 forum (what I’m looking for)” The results are 1000X better. Then again I don’t think 1000 X 0 makes much sense. Let’s just say it gives me actual results.
I don’t think Anet considers what the player is doing at the time they decide to give the player a 72 hour vacation. Why would they? If you earn a time out there really isn’t a reason to say, “Okay finish what you are doing and then go sit in the corner.” Part of the punishment is taking away your game play. As for other names the best you can do is report the ones you think are not appropriate. If Anet does not punish them perhaps they don’t see it the same as you.
I ususally put a railroad spike through my tower then overhead viking toss the whole thing out of my second story window onto the street below.
I actually tossed a box off my second story patio about 15 years ago. It was running Windows 95 so I don’t think anyone could blame me.
A I D S could mean other things but give us a break. You knew the context of your name and apparently so did the people that reported you. There is nothing funny or cute about it. If you see names worse than yours then report them as well.
My number one method for canceling a skill is getting killed. It works 100% of the time.
It would really be a nice way to show off and celebrate getting a legendary. Rather than just swinging your sword or what ever weapon to make people notice the effects.
Most people have seen legendary weapon spamming 100 times over so I don’t think many notice or care. If you spend time in any populated area the effects spamming is a very common thing. Someone spamming junk in my face just to say, “Hey look at me!” gets on my nerves really fast. The last thing I need is some goofball spamming some legendary emote in my face or spamming it at trading posts and banks.
If you want people to notice you and your legendary have them notice while you are actually using it in combat.
Here is an interesting and long thread with differing views related to being or not being impressed by legendary. It’s worth a read.

All it does is prolong my death. I wish there was a key I could use to just kill myself once I’m downed instead of waiting to get killed by the 50 mobs I accidentally agroed because I’m terrible at this game.
For my characters the best downed skill would be called, “pistol to temple”.
I never really got birthday gifts anyway. It seems like the parents should get the gifts. After all they did all the work.
If you loan someone $20 dollars and never see that person again it was probably worth it.
Today some players found a bot in Queensdale. Some Mesmers ported it onto one of those balloon towers and because it auto "f"s constantly it took the balloon to DR. That was pretty funny.
Mounts, race changes, capes, wear town clothes in combat and ability to hide all armor, more gifts (I’m thinking precursors and maybe 5000 gems), change to any profession you want as much as you want, and most importantly open world PvP.
Edit: I forgot raids and inspect.
