It spawned on Gandara- I even took a screenie, showing the vast multitude of people that were there (it told me it was an overflow). I spent ages looking, and counted exactly THREE people at the whole thing, with around 7 minutes left on the clock.
And i was taking about the ‘flawless defence’ type achievements, whihc are extremely hard to achieve if there is NOBODY doing Teq as they have moved on to the next two week event, leaving Teq spawn a ghost town in many servers.
An no one being there after the Boss Week event ended and the new event started surprises you? It started dying off the last 4-5 days or so before the event ended.
No it won’t happen. They are meant to be like the special hair colors.
I guess Anet should just dissolve their business and just act as an entity that makes games for free.
Considering a ton of people here expect that Anet will work for free and ignore all opportunities to make money.
Seriously, is everyone here in high school or what? Anyone here have a job? Do you know how the world operates?
Or are we having an anti-corporate circlejerk?
They should make it a non-profit. GFESB.org
I always thought once traits were selected they should be permanent and unchangeable. I’ve got some pretty bad traits of my own and I don’t think they will ever change. I’d pay a lot of RLM for an item that would do that. Of course my ex-girlfriend ran through my wallet pretty quick and despite her best efforts she couldn’t change my traits either.
People act like Anet staff never gets time off from work. It was a bug that happened after most business hours. In games of this magnitude bugs happen especially around update times. Get over it. The whole game didn’t implode and all your gold and items didn’t go missing.
Now all they need to do is close down this crappy sub-forum and they will have done a good job cleaning up this mess. See you all in the swamp waiting for SB to spawn while Tequatl is twiddling his thumbs Sparkfly Fen.

I wanted an option to change traits out in the world or at least in towns/outposts, I would have no problem paying in game money, but this being a cash shop item is a joke.
But you can pay in game money. Convert some gold to gems and there you go. You have now used in game money.
“It’s 4 am where they live.”
“So?”

This video needs to be embedded into a sticky at the top of each forum. Then it needs to automatically be every 5th post in every thread with auto play.
Instead of getting so upset why not call it a wash and do something else at this point? Posting here isn’t going to do any good. If Anet is aware of the problem and they were going to respond they would probably have done so by now. It isn’t like they are going to read these threads and say, “Oh crud! We are on it. Thanks for letting us know! We will have it spawn in 5 minutes tops!”
We did cancel the event over 4 of our guilds. But the magnitude of organization isn’t that easy to say, “Well, let’s just go do something else and come back in an hour”.
It’s really not that simple.
True but it is one glitch since the event started and people are acting like the whole game busted. How about go do something else until an answer is provided as to the problem and solution? Or post here about how unfair it is and continue standing around for 3 hours +. Whatever I suppose.

It seems an appropriate way for the event to end from what I have seen over the last two weeks.
What language rule is broke? I just see someone talking about cats
Yeah and after the update all gem store items will be free for a month right?
Next time you post a screen shot you might want to edit out the chat for the benefit of the player violating the language rules.
He drowned after consuming too many overflow AFKers. Good, I hope he stays there.
All this for some hairstyles? Where are all of you when a legit GW2 discussion thread goes up on how we need some permanent content and things of that nature?
Oh right, gushing over your kittening characters. //CC swiping bandits
Why are you posting in this thread instead of starting or posting in threads related to the need for more permanent content? Look here, pass your math exam and do your chores and maybe your folks will pick you up a gem card.
Amusing.
Is that what you do? I will take your method to heart and hope to all the Gods of the entire universe that my parents get me a gem card so I can buy hairstyles too.
Do you also have to eat all your vegetables and walk the dog?
No I know their Paypal password. :P

Now if i could just make my characters look older than 18.
Heh. Grey hair, not white. And don’t look at them from the front. <straightface>
I spent too much time trying not to look at my ex-girlfriend from the front. I’d like to be able to see my characters faces and not have them look like they just left a Justin Beibers concert.
Now if i could just make my characters look older than 18.
Maybe an NPC should open up a Kentucky Fried Moa.
Okay what’s the deal with the little animal pictures? I don’t get it.
Why do you need any guilds with 400 people in them…
To fight Tequatl and hope that at least 80 people will show up that are actually trying.
This is interesting cause it suggests that people who aren’t in massive guilds dont try . Somehow i don’t think that’s the case .
I didn’t say nobody tries but if you have ever ended up in an overflow where a guild didn’t show up then I am sure you have seen the multitudes of AFKers. I’ve tried to organize in overflows and even once on my home server when I actually got in. There was almost no response and from the few that did respond several said they were just there for an achievement. I’ve seen it enough times to know that many people don’t try or don’t care. Not everyone but a fair amount.
It certainly would be nice if Anet stopped by this thread to say something, anything. Please let us know if you are working on it, plan to work on, don’t know how to work on it, or don’t care at all. A small tidbit would help out all of the customers that can’t figure out why the search function doesn’t work and potential customers that want to review the forums before buying but can’t even do a search. I would think the later certainly wouldn’t leave a very good impression.
It provides a sense of urgency from the consumer. If someone was considering buying an item but had not committed to it the limited time frame can play a factor in their decision.
Every team in the AFC North is now 2-2 aside from the Steelers at 0-4 so at least I have that.
We better stop now before we get banned.

Off topic forums tend to get real ugly real fast. As soon as religion, politics, or even sports hit the forum you can forget about civil conversation. Sure they could make a rule not allowing political/religious threads but I doubt Anet wants even more things to moderate. People can’t even behave in GW2 discussion forum half the time.
Don’t worry about the Texans though the Bengals were rather embarrassing today and lost to the Browns.
No thanks
/15 and some other ones
Right now the only thing stowing a pet is good for is in cities as a courtesy to other players by reducing screen clutter. Try to do a jump puzzle and take 1 point of fall damage and your pet is right in your face. A mob looks at you funny and your pet is right in your face. Stowing a pet should be just that, stowing it away until called upon.
My advice is just to get in game and try it. No one here can really tell you if you will enjoy it as we don’t really know you or what you like in a game. If you feel lonely on your server you can guest to a more populated server to see if you like the community there better. If you find a server you like better and are not too invested in your characters so far you can delete them and transfer to another server for free. Just make sure you bank all items that are not soul bound first.
Many people here will blindly tell you that you will not enjoy GW2 because this is the forums and that’s how they roll. I’m sure if you post in the PHP forum you will find some friendly players that wouldn’t mind showing you around and helping you out. I say hop in and give it a go.

It has something to do with not being able to move characters guesting to different data centers during guesting.
The one I can’t stand is in The Grove. There is this high pitched sound every so often that I guess is suppose to be a bird. When I first heard it I thought my air conditioner was on the fritz. It actually hurts my ears so I avoid that area as much as possible.
There is no actual option to report someone as AFKer in the game. AFKers are going to be a problem in several of the mini games and they have been for a long time. There is a serious problem with it during the Tequatl event as well. I don’t think there is anyway to deal with this through the in game report options.
Haha this is the first mmo I’ve played so I guess I learned the mmo community is rather selfish if you can’t trust anyone. Kind of sucks.
Well from my Internet experience of almost two decades it isn’t limited to MMOs. If you ever want to see a clinic in selfishness, backstabbing, liars and miscreants there is this site you should check out. It’s called Facebook.
I don’t think Anet wants more things to have to monitor because of nimrods trying to be cute and name great swords or staffs things like My Big John… I’ve already seen many times people trying to skirt the rules with creative spelling for character names. Then when they get caught they try to claim innocence and that they didn’t know better.
Now imagine the trading post getting flooded with such nonsense. It’s one of those things that could be fun but unfortunately some players would ruin it for everyone.
Brought this upon myself by assuming people can be trusted once in awhile.
This is the Internet. You can trust no one. No one.
That NPC obviously got it from the NPC gem store. Now you know where all our waypoint and armor repair money goes.
I’m not going to watch a half hour video to see an NPC wearing an aqua breather. Perhaps a picture would suffice?
I’m willing to bet that most people here don’t know of the song and think Blue Oyster Cult is a group of Justin Biebers fans. I like it though. It’s pretty accurate.
Everyone is heading back to the swamp to wait for SB to spawn now. This forum has slowed down quite a bit in the last 2 days as well. Once Boss Week is over Tequatl will do what it learned from all the events and just go AFK.
I haven’t done much with living story stuff since Bazaar of the Four Winds. I really enjoyed that one. Sanctum Sprint is the only mini game I play but it’s getting boring now because most people are there just for achievements and don’t try.
Cutthroat Politics – Didn’t bother because I didn’t care. I knew that the waypoint person would win anyway. Payoff, I sold all those support whatever for some decent coin.
Queen’s Jubilee – I hung out in the pavilion for a bit farming with the zerg. I didn’t mess with the rest and couldn’t even tell you what the achievements were.
Clockwork Chaos – I didn’t really have time to mess with 5 invasions that lasted an hour with no one really trying to win. I had some free time one day and decided to try one out for the heck of it. I had a valuable item drop and sold it on the TP. That was enough for me and didn’t go out of my way to do any invasions again.
Super Adventure Box – I burned out on those types of games in the 80’s. I did world 1 normal mode and tried for awhile to do tribulation mode. I don’t like things that make me want to smash my computer and felt the difficulty was more dealing with frustration than anything else. I found it a bit odd that one of the most anticipated events is a game that isn’t really GW2.
Tequatl Rising/Boss Week – I don’t think I need to say much about this one. See sig.
I’m taking a break from GW2. I’ve noticed my enjoyment waning. That is a sign that I need to stay logged off for a while and revisit it later. I do really like GW2 but I have been rather disappointed in the last few living story updates.

I think I’m going to take a break for the rest of the month, maybe a bit longer. I’m finding I’m not enjoying myself as much recently so it is probably a good idea to step back for a bit. Plus I’m getting a new dog to train on Friday so that will require a lot of my attention.
Thank you
You’re welcome. I hope you get a good chance to enjoy the battle.
Tequatl changes are permanent. The achievements under Boss Week and the ability to get the wings are not.
I’ve tried it several more times since event launch. I can’t get out of overflow, I’ve tried several times to get a taxi into a group that is actually trying with no luck, I’ve done everything I could in each ‘fight’ just because that’s how I play even knowing that there was no chance because of AFKers and people not caring. During one attempt I tried to get the overflow to work toward organizing. I was pretty much told by other players they were just there for the daily achievement.
I won’t go back. The event is supposed to be hard as far as strategy in defeating Tequatl. Unfortunately the biggest challenge is really the massive amount of time it takes to try to even get into a fight where people are trying. If it took me an hour to get into a good group I would attempt the event again. When it takes several hours battling overflow and little chance of getting into a group that is even half trying, no thanks.
I’ll go ahead and say it to myself before someone drops in here and says it. Yes this event (content) is not for me. If countless hours just waiting and asking random people to take me in only to get stuck in another overflow of people that don’t care was fun then I suppose the content would be for me.
Usually Metallica and Rage Against the Machine.
- I don’t think most casual players expect everything to be easy.
- I don’t think most casual players expect everything handed to them.
- I don’t think most casual players stand around in Lions Arch all day chatting.
- I don’t think all casual players only do PvE and run around doing champ zergs all day.
- I do think most casual players understand that not every aspect of the game will cater to them.
- I do think most casual players are interested in participating in challenging content.
- I do think most casual players understand obtaining certain items will take longer than other players.
- I do think casual players strive to get these items when they do play.
- I do think many casual players are just as good at the game as more dedicated players.
- I do think many casual players that read this forum get a bit tired of non-casual players trying to define how they play and what they want. Then again here I am trying to define what casual players think and want as well but I’m a casual player.

Overflow Orange
AFK Auburn
Guesting Green
You know what would be funny to see in the next patch notes.
Tequatl
- Reduced the amount of damage Ranger pets can deal to Tequatl
And nothing else related to the event.
You could always make it where having friends from another server, puts your entire group in an overflow.
I know what your going to say.
But folly, how is that fair? Well, if they are your friends, why arent they on your server to begin with.
I don’t think that is necessary. Simply allowing guests on invite only would cut back on a lot of it. Of course there would have to be some limit to concurrent invites as well. For example you couldn’t invite 100 “friends”.
I actually paid attention to this at first and picked my responses carefully. Then I realized it didn’t do anything. For example the heart in Queensdale with the Ettins where you talk to them and pick a response based on personality. I thought picking responses based on my characters personality would lessen the likelihood that they would fight me. It didn’t. Now I just click stuff real quick to get to the point.
