So what happened to all the class changes in the patch?
That’s for October 15th
UGH…
The point of heart is to bring you to areas to discover the Dynamic Events that occur there. Almost every heart in the game can be filled by completing Dynamic Event or two that occurs around it. Hearts were added late in development for this specific reason. Unfortunately people have consistently misunderstood their purpose because they come from the wrong kinds of games where quests are a thing. They aren’t in this game.

So what happened to all the class changes in the patch?
I’m actually a little sickened by the reaction to this. Did you seriously just assume you would walk into this and destroy it without any preparation? You saw a video, maybe, and so you assumed you were prepared for everything it had to offer, really?
Yeah, you’ve been taught, up to this point, that GW2 is trivial. You’re supposed to be able to just face roll everything, right? So much so that there has been a clamoring outcry to bring in non-trivial content. They do that, but what? You didn’t mean it? Content that takes effort to complete is not actually what you wanted? Have a little pride, would you? If you can’t handle it, don’t play it. Stop complaining cause you can’t beat it, over and over. Get over yourself and move on. Someone else who actually has the backbone and the skill will fill in for you, don’t worry.
Go run your low level Fractals, or run face first into keeps. Go to your jumping puzzles, or hanging around in taverns in Divinity’s Reach. Go do trivial content, this is meant for those with a higher calling. This is meant for those who can lose and come back for more.
So, how many times have you fought Tequatl since the patch? If, after 15 tormenting minutes, Tequatl is still at 90%, because many, many players experience skill lags in excess of 30 seconds, crazy rubberbanding and one-shot kills they did not even have a chance to see coming you do not need a second or third go to see that you will not succeed if you just adjust your tactics a tad. Of course people are crying for a nerf or at least a fix for the most glaring problems with this change.
What exactly did you actually expect on in the first moments of the new content? Really?
AFK or crash isn’t a concern, unless they’re being defended strongly. If they crash they shouldn’t be there to lay claim to the turret. If the turret gets destroyed they lose claim to it. Griefers are another matter, we’ll just have to see.
Hope it’s not too late to chime in, but it’s pronounced “teh-KWAHT-ul.” Kind of rhymes with “heck bottle,” with the accent on the “BOT.”
That’s how we say it in-house and how we have NPCs say it in-game through VO.
Sorry to say that but Tequila Sunrise is better and I’ll stick to it
Even having already known how to pronounce it right every time I see this forum I read it Tequila Sunrise
Hi,
I love GW2 and i think is the most inovative game ever. Nº 1 since launch.
But there are some issues that I just cant understand why Anet doesnt deal with them.
Here is a shortlist of things I think Anet could deal with low effort and which would improve largely the game.
Feel free to comment/add new things.1- Guild menu – Let guild admins see players last login
2- Commanders – Add guild commanders (only visible to guildmates)
3- Commanders – Add commander/squad menu: its so annoying having to type commands
4- Commanders – Add commander colors: just let commanders chose a color from a limited list
5- WvW- map view: on mouse hover add guild tag of the guild claiming the objective (and possibly current buffs – icons only)
6- Activities- Add group queue as well as solo queue.
7- Legendary weapons – account bound instead of soulboundZemi
1) This is a thing I’ve seen people ask for, it is useful for keeping a roster clean.
2) This is a thing I’ve seen people ask for, it would be good for keeping a guild together without necessarily causing a server zerg.
3) I have not seen this, but I can see the value in it.
4) This is a thing I’ve seen people ask for, it has limited use, but some value.
5) I have not seen this, it could be cool if possible, but doesn’t really have much value.
6) This is sort of a thing I’ve seen people ask for, without a fairly significant change to the design of PvP it probably isn’t going to happen.
7) No, just no.
LOL!
I have better idea. Remove achievement points from daily/monthly. Why do u play? Because of few points? And you write a post because of few points.
Play for enjoy.
Suggestion: Remove achievement points from daily / monthly and everybody play for enjoy not for achievement points.
Actually I do it for the laurels. Also because it’s fun.
Fractals aren’t dungeons.
Fractals are super mini dungeons and can be done in a fraction of the time. A typical Fractal run is 3 or 4 separate fractals. Should the dungeon be worth only one dungeon since it is only one dungeon, or should each event in the dungeon be a separate point toward the monthly?
I think Dungeons should be an option along side Fractals as a separate achievement, not shoe horned into the one that already exists. They’re separate things.

Hey Josh
The changes you made are fine though. Only thing I don’t like are the geysers being always up. I hope you find a solution to the problem with them, so they can be moving again next time they are around. How about you put in an alternate path with a switch, that makes the geysers frozen..or an upgrade to the slingshot that freezes stuff.
I just hope it would be possible to leave the geysers as they are in Zone 1, but make them cycle again in the intro world. It was much more interesting and more of an accomplishment to reach the flag.

Zoom in to see clouds. Have the flute out before you start. Bare left to reach the end. Hit 3 before you jump onto the first of the three clouds to start the charge up, hit 3 again before you jump off. Hit the next two numbers on the second cloud then jump. Hit the last two numbers on the last cloud. The door should open and you should have waited long enough for the first cloud to respawn. If not, just make your way back and the door will be open.
blah
Well 1st everything is going easier or tougher for people to learn, so a low skill entry level for me is different for you. Should we make all weapons able to be played by a 2 year old?
2nd every weapon will have it’s up and downs, saying dont defend the weapon with its good pints is being ignorant of the fact that not all weapons can be perfect.
Autoattack should be useable by a 2 year old, yes.
Yeah, there shouldn’t be a learning curve for auto attack. Mastering every nuance of the skill, sure, but just using it normally should not.
Just being able to dodge AFTER the kick and the pounce would probably settle a lot of peoples problems with the weapon. Currently it isn’t possible. Being locked out of a dodge during a leap is reasonable. Continuing to be locked out after you land is a bug.

I can see shortcut eagle not working, cause there is nothing to it. But Shortcut worm they just made extremely hard. I see no reason why you shouldn’t be able to use it if you can actually survive it.
SAB not for you
yeah… I don’t understand the point of this thread. You say you don’t enjoy it, and admit that it’s not meant for you, so why did anything need to be said at all? Are you just verifying that those who are not its target audience do not, in fact, enjoy it, just as everyone should have expected?
Also as TDWIG said, World 1 was created without a concept for tribulation mode. Most of World 2 was designed with tribulation mode in mind. So they were able to actually build the path right into the world design. For World 1 they had to shoe horn it in.
At the same time, though, hidden traps are part of the point. They want you to randomly die for no reason because you got over confident. One of my favorite things watching Wooden Potato’s runs in World 1 was when he would get to a gate and yell his joy, then walk forward and instantly die. It is only partially about the challenge, it is also about Josh and team screwing with you.
Chances are extremely high that you are throwing the crystal shard at the crystal and not into his mouth. If the shard goes into his mouth it always works. If it doesn’t you get screwed over. When you see him looking both ways you should click on his face to make sure you’re targeting the frog and not the crystal.
In every single video I’ve watched in which they’ve failed to actually hit his mouth it’s because he wasn’t properly targeted. The same has gone for my own playing.
It’s a good concept, except they’re breaking poison and burning next patch. All duration stacking boons and conditions will only stack up to 5 times. I have no idea how that is supposed to work, and it sounds incredibly stupid to me, but that seems to be the case.
It definitely seems cool though. I would love to see this sort of thing have an effect in WvW, but one player can’t stand up to that amount of conditions for more than a couple seconds, if that.
The farming required to get the dungeon armour guarantees enough gold to buy the stat armour and a transmutation stone.
What’s the problem?
Why should I be wasting the gold I made running the dungeon, when I ran the dungeon to get the tokens FROM the dungeon in order to get the skin I wanted. The whole point of getting the tokens is to get the skin, so why should I have to spend gold on top of that to actually use the skin?
Sword #1 doesn’t root you. There is a problem in its design that prevents the use of dodge after the end of at least one of the powers in the chain and before the next.
You can’t dodge during a leap, but that’s not the problem. The problem is the inability to dodge even after completing the leap.
That is what is not functioning properly. It is a problem and has always been a problem. The fact that there are other powers that are potentially able to be used to augment the use of a dodge does not detract from the simple fact that they should not be required at that point because dodge should function properly.
I support them being skins. That’s what they are for now anyway, and I don’t like having to waste a transmutation crystal to use them as such. Especially if I’m getting the skins for my under level 80 character, since it is an under level 80 dungeon. Then I have to use a crystal to peel the skin off the level 80 item, and eventually I have to use another to make it level 80 again when I get there. If you want the stats you should craft them. The skins should just be skins.
Basically, it requires a complete redesign of their combat system to make support roles worth more. I, for one, definitely welcome this since I have gone against convention and made supporting characters. Unfortunately they’re simply not very good in general because the game doesn’t support their use in any meaningful way.
It isn’t a problem with condition builds in PvE. It’s a problem with certain players in PvE.
Yes, something. I got to the second to last gate on W2Z1 Tribulation then fell into the geometry right next to the gate. I even tried digging up rabbits to kill me, but they all spawned outside where I was standing.
I think if you went through the sylvari personal story then you were kitten thered by Trehearne.
I personally liked him.. but then I like Logan….and Kiel.
hahahahahaha ….. ok “less” “bothered” gets kittenified. Too funny.
Especially if you picked the path that let you wield Caledbolg for a little bit.
Or don’t transmute things into something you don’t love?
I don’t get it…
Trahearne is not that bad a guy, why all the hate?People do not like him mainly because they think he “stole their story”; that Trahearne is the main character of the Personal Story, not the player.
My only problem with him is the voice acting to be honest. He doesn’t sound inspiring, and as the leader of the Pact, he should be. I forgive him, though, because he loves the PC so much and he always make sure that we know how important we are for him. I used to hate him, but now I believe that there are characters that are worse than him (I am looking at you, Kiel). I am not a huge fan of Trahearne, but I don’t mind him that much anymore.
Ohhh! So it’s because people don’t understand that the Main character ISN’T them and never has been even since the original Guild Wars. The main characters of GW2 are Destiny’s Edge and to a lesser degree Trahearne. We’re just on for the ride.
IF they don’t have two legs they won’t be allowed to be playable. Simple game mechanics, they have to wear pants and boots. Centaur are out for the same reason. They can’t.
While the art team will obviously have to make all new appearances for all the armors for the new race, the race does still also have to be able to wear and display all the armor pieces.
So no snake people.
It seems to me the most obvious design change would be to make it a targeted AoE like Search and Rescue and Guard. Though I don’t know that it would really make as much sense for how Sic em is supposed to function. Of course just giving off a pulse at max range of the power that auto reveals all stealth would be good too, I guess, but that still begs the question, what are you targeting to make that happen?
I wonder what changes will be brought to weapons? Maybe Power Rangers will come back
Or maybe it’s just fix to #1 sword skill for which I’d be more than grateful
Maul is getting a buff next patch. That’s all I know of.
It’s a case of L2P and no tutorial mode by anet.
L2P is a situation like don’t stand in the fire.
Turn off auto attack on this single weapon in all of the weapons in the game in order to even be functional is not L2P. It’s getting around a broken design. Work arounds aren’t learning to play, they’re learning to cope with something that doesn’t work right.
If there was even one other weapon in the game that simply was no usable if left on auto I could almost accept this. But there isn’t. I know, I’ve used all of them. The sword is broken, and you can go on and on about it all you want but you’re not making it less broken.
Turning off auto to gain improved functionality is fine. Being required to do so in order to have ANY functionality is not.
I imagine that these races would be tied to world expansion.
Tengu – return to cantha/rebellion against the xenophobic emperor. they would be playable as not only is their home then accessible but they would most likely ask at least one of the greater races/pact in their struggle to return home to cantha. this also means that, since they’ll need to design the tengu homeland, they’ll need to use an architecture style similar to cantha itself.
The Tengu live between Lion’s Arch and Caledon Forest. Just look at your map, it’s very well defined. Talk to the Tengu in Kessex Hills, he’ll explain everything you need to know. You can also try to talk to the Tengu in Caledon and Lion’s Arch, but I don’t think they have anything to say.

Charr are awesome the way they are. They are beasts. Their hunched, prowling posture makes them look menacing. I love their design.
-1
Less humanoid things in games everywhere thanks
This just indicates those who have not played GW1. I’ve been wondering, since playing GW2 where the Charr that stand up straight are. In GW1 only the warriors were hunched over like that. All the rest stood up tall.
-snip-
My point
Yes, I am biased in the fact that I would very much like Skritt as a/the new race.
But at least use this as an example that most races have pretty reasonable avenues to become a “greater race”. Regardless of their connection to the story mode or their position in the current affairs of Tyria. As Anet puts it, it IS a “Living Word”, the smallest races can rise to be the most powerful and the greatest races can fade to dust or become lost to extinction.Basically, don’t be racist.
Vote Skritt.
So what I read is, with Dais Ex Machina, aka bad writing, the Skritt could be smart, otherwise a small handful of Skritt, as in the few that play a role in the stories, would be. So our options are, bad writing just randomly boosting them for no better reason than to do so, or bad writing by letting an infinite number of Skritt be regarded as a small handful.
I love the Skritt. They are my single favorite race in the game. There is not a single thing that the Skritt randomly say in the world that doesn’t bring a smile to my face, cause they’re just crazy. That doesn’t take away what they are. It also isn’t racist to say they can’t be more than that, it’s realistic. The lesser races are there to be lesser. They are there to be boosted by the player during the story to bring them into the Pact to fight the Dragons. How would it make sense for a Skritt to join the Whispers then move to boost up the Skritt? Why would he need to do that, they’re already at that level, aren’t they? It’s part of the story and lore of the game. To arbitrarily ignore and change that goes against ANets design.
It’s actually not a 50 second cooldown. Because the power lasts for 10 seconds it’s a 50-60 second cooldown depending on IF he uses the return. If he doesn’t use the return he waited 10 seconds with nothing and then has 50 seconds added on top of that. So it’s the same.
It doesn’t drop conditions as a matter of course, so you can’t cite that as a basic function of the power. It is a stun break, but lots of things are stun breaks. Looking at my guardian I’ve got two stun breaks out by default, both of which have no activate time and give me a bunch of boons in the process.
It only actually does one thing. It teleports you, and then potentially teleports you back. Unlike leap powers, though, it can only teleport you along the ground without any gaps or ledges involved. So that’s its limiting factor.
So, based on your own criteria it isn’t OP because it only does two things. It moves your character and it breaks stuns. Glad we cleared that up.
Could we maybe bring this forward, as in not hiding this function behind a drop down menu? There could be room for three icons
The problem comes with resizing. If you resize the inventory too small three icons wouldn’t fit. But that seems easy enough to fix. Just give us three icons (deposit, compress, whatever the other one is,) when there is room, and compress it to the current setup if it’s too small for them.
Oh noes! Hitman is complaining about another skill someone used to beat him with. Will wonders never cease? Cause I’d really like it if they would…
Because for a lot of people its too much effort to do it,they want levels that take one minute, the reward’s ect on a silver platter,
for me i like it,i love it….they should make it permanent content, but a lot more difficult
You fail at fours
If you can’t remember, or see, or find the dart traps after the first death then I duno what to do for you.
Only thing I didn’t like was the spikes that have no warning, but that’s only in trib mode and well…you memorize them after a while. I still don’t like them but I accept it.
Why is no one playing? We got what we came for and are done.
Before, the baubles could be used to purchase legendary crafting items, so you had some people farming that, and also farming to get skins to sell.
The levels are too long/difficult to farm now I guess for the average person, but I appreciated the advancement in the challenges.
Longevity? No, I guess not. Memories? Definitely, this one will be remembered for a long time. Both good and bad
I liked it overall.
You fail that too
Link to the leaked patch notes, please~
That HP buff is for minions. Do Pets count as minions?
Rangers can pull. Hunter’s Shot is just about the best pulling skill in the game. Get just within range, Hunter’s Shot, so you’ve successfully agroed whatever but now it can’t target you and sits still, nothing around it even notices and forgets. Dodge back twice and run just far enough away in those three seconds so it doesn’t lose agro but all its friends continue to not notice you. Stealth fails and you have one mob to play with.
I consistently did this to champions during Scarlet, and with tougher mobs in dungeons. It’s a lot of fun.
You guys are assuming there’s something wrong with sword…according to a GS ranger.
Come on.No, we’re assuming there’s something wrong with Sword because of the amount of hate there is for sword and the number of people who are unwilling to use it because of its design.
I could actually see these changes working. It lets you have an auto attack while still having leaps at your disposal for gap closing. My only thing is that kick should cripple and serpent’s strike should evade.
With those two in place it could work. Though I don’t know that I like serpent’s strike flipping me all over the place more than I like pounce and kick locking me down.
okay I must be crazy then because every time I drop into a match I kid you not the rangers I’ve met are always using sword. Honestly the weapon is brain-dead easy to learn, gives you a ton of option, and boost your survivability by a tenfold because of all the leap cripple and evade you get.
Why change what isn’t broken?
Do you even play a ranger? Have you used sword? Every Ranger knows sword is broken, even those who use it and have made it work for them. A weapon in which you have to use autoattack manually instead of on auto to have any ability to function is broken. That Ranger Sword is the only weapon in the entire game where this is the case is the evidence of that.
Yes, it is a strong weapon, specifically in PvP. Everywhere else is it a liability. Its only real purpose is not to escape, but to dog. It is designed to lock you onto a target and never to let them get away. The problem is, in anything but PvP this will get you killed.
The changes suggested here would allow it to maintain its ability to continually the target, even if not quite as locked on, while also removing that liability from everywhere else.
im playing in High population server, im meeting 1 player every 10min
I play on a medium pop server…and i see more than 1 person every 10 minutes!
I play on an actual high pop server and there are people everywhere no matter what you do and where you are. So yeah.
tarnished coast is the unofficial role playing server though… so thats kind of a given
I don’t see a lot of RPing in the open world, in cities sure, but not in starter areas and the zones surrounding. So those people are there to play.
Everyone seems to forget why this game is GW2 and not just an other expansion on GW1. They started a whole new game because some of their plans just didn’t fit into the lore. So the next race(s) will have to fit in. Races that don’t want to work with the current playable races, like tengu, kodan or largos are not the obvious choice. Their position may change in the future and I do expect the tengu to become playable some day, but they won’t be the next race.
I think the next race will be a race that is at war with the dragons and working with the playable races, so the minor races seem most likely. They may seem/be dumb or strange, but for RPers that’s just an other interesting thing to work with and for non-RPers, what does it matter? You don’t RP anyway.
They seem unpopular on this site, but on my server everyone seems to love skritt and quaggan so I guess they could be concidered to be in the pool. I for one can’t wait to play as a skritt.
Wow, for a post that started out so well you tanked fast. The Tengu WERE not ready to work with us, but by the time they release them as a playable race they’ll be ready.
It isn’t a question of if, it’s a question of when. Like I said before, the zones already exist, they just need to link them for us. You can see them quite clearly on the map, both a city and a starter area. The Kodan and the Largos are also in a position to be willing to play with the other races, they just need the story to explain what tipped the scale.
The lesser races can’t make sense because of the personal story because they have to be convinced to help by the orders. What we need are races outside of the story ready to commit and the Tengu, Largos and Kodan are ready, they just need to be tipped. But only the Tengu are actually in a position to become a legitimate playable race right now.
I don’t get it…
Trahearne is not that bad a guy, why all the hate?
Honestly, I understand why everyone is upset and I like Josh too. But I am absolutely shocked they let him go on for so long. I assumed he was allowed to do as he pleased during April because he was a team of 8, his addition was a play test, and so it didn’t really matter what he did. This time he’s in charge of a full team and presumably has responsibilities.
I’ve constantly wondered if he actually did any work at ANet because he seemed to be on the forums all day talking to us. From our perspective that’s cool, but from a game company’s perspective that is extremely dangerous for both public relations and quality assurance purposes. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, I mean just looking at the actual evidence the public is a fan and likes it, and because of it the quality of the product has gone up, but that’s not how they see it because there’s no control.
I’m still playing it
im playing in High population server, im meeting 1 player every 10min
I play on a medium pop server…and i see more than 1 person every 10 minutes!
I play on an actual high pop server and there are people everywhere no matter what you do and where you are. So yeah.
Not happening. First off, you still have the rest of the month. Secondly, you won’t lose progress, so if you somehow fail to do all the things you want to you will be able to continue when SAB comes back around with World 3.
This sounds familiar. I think I’ve seen this exact thing before and it is self defeating.
If everyone goes to an underflow because there aren’t enough people in the zone there will never be ANY people in the zone because they’ll automatically go to an underflow, indefinitely.
