First of all a P/D thief was an exampel and what you advice is to go D/D or bow for AoE, well on D/D i can Aoe without spending my points witch i need for stealth when im alone vs manny and on my bow same problem… you really dont know anything about thief’s need to stay out of sight ? or atleast thats the way to kill manny at the same time…
Second thing is that i aint calling everyone noobs, if all was the hole thing wassent a problem, the problem comes when i meet ppl who know how to play and counter my trys to finish or Spam dmg as soon one of there team mates go down, witch force me to stay away and they can rezz there grp. mates up fast..
You refute an argument by making a claim that has nothing to do with the original claim, nor the argument against it? You claimed that not every CLASS has AoE then made an example of a spec within a class. I educated you on the fact that every class does infact have the ability to AoE and pointed you to a spec within your chosen class that fits the bill.
Your assumption, incidentally that all thieves need to make heavy use of stealth is false. That is one way to play a thief. I have two, neither use stealth much at all. One is an evasion theif, the other is a teleport thief. Also, staying out of sight is not a way to kill many real fast. Hitting many real fast and real hard is a way to kill many real fast. Staying out of sight is only a way to not be killed yourself as easily. I personally love killing stealth thieves on my ranger because I can hit them whether I can see them or not.
So, your WHOLE (not hole) problem is that when you take on more people than yourself they work together better than you work alone and are able to thwart your attempts to kill their allies? You call people noobs because they play better than you? That seems counter intuitive.

Because the vote kick system works fine the way it is. Because if a group consists of 3 people and one of them is randomly AFK for an indetrminant amount of time you couldn’t kick them without getting a fourth person just for the purpose of kicking them.
My suggestion is, don’t upset people such that they feel the need to kick you consistenly. I’ve personally never been kicked from a group while it mattered, so I don’t even understand what this, so called, abuse is supposed to mean.
The skills are fine , but for wv3 the weapons could do with a trait buff to put them on a par with other classes.
sPvP and Pve are fine, but a +6%-10% damage trait vs Wv3 PCs would IMO even out the field, and help them fulfill the Scout role better. You are wrong, read, writes ArenaNET, Ranger – it’s not a scout, he is a warrior with light armor class!
Ranger is an adventurer, and wears medium. Ranger’s are scouts, and anyone that says differently, regardless of who they are, is silly and doesn’t know what they’re talking about.
Interesting fact. Scouts are usually soldiers with lighter armor, which is what I think you actually meant.
So smart a.. you thinke im new ^^ you go on belive that.. you advice to AoE hmm can all class/ spec do AoE ? Nope I’m playing P/D con thief i dont have a dmg burst and if im fighting against manny i need to finish ppl, other way they will have to much dmg going on me at the end…
I don’t demand anything im simply saying my opinion and ask what other’s feel. I belive that Anet got Down state so all casual / noobs gamers dont whine evry time the die, but isent the game about skills to take your opponent out or do you thinke its okay that 3 out of 6 rally on a stupid Deer ?
This simply makes you look like you a PvE nerd and thats fine with me..
It is totaly okay that new player / casual player / small kids / Freaks that don’t have a life plays.. but dont make 10 new player win by rally or down stage vs a hardcore duo (and no its not me im talking about)
Can all class spec do AoE? Yes, yes they can. You are playing a P/D con Thief… so? Pull out D/D or Short Bow, bam you have AoE. Thief can do AoE, just like every class. The fact that you are playing a different spec doesn’t change that fact. That is a choice you made, not the game.
You keep calling everyone a noob, but the way you describe your situation it really doesn’t sound like you understand how to handle these things. A “Pro Gamer” doesn’t get trashed because he brought someone to a downed state but can’t finish the job.
Basically you seem to have an unnecessarily puffed up opinion of yourself. Along with a fully unnecessarily rude and condasending attitude toward everyone who disagrees with you. Learn to handle the game at its level, rather than compaining when you can’t. You can’t call yourself Pro, then fail at one of the most basic designs of the game.
This is not a good idea
Only if only a commander can access the funds, rather than some kitten who doesn’t know what they’re doing randomly upgrading bullkitten areas for no reason.
Yes please, also fractals and WvW commendations.
Even better, since it’s a currency that can be used by any character on my account, but can’t be traded, just stick them in with Karma and Laurels and make them account wide like laurels.
Yes, I get the concept of it, but I would like to be able to actually watch the combat happening around me.
I think it should be disabled completely in PvE, but enebled exclusively, such that you can’t mouse look at all, in WvW and PvP.
Or you can hit the back button until you exit creation…
How much would you pay in order to extract a rune or sigil without destroying its holder?
Now check the TP and check out the cost for a new one of that paticular rune/sigil.
I am curious about the results.
But they could move it half an inch to the right and that would also fix it.
Is that half inch on your screen or mine? half inch here wont help at all. Please measure in pixels for your suggestion… also, a move vertically would look better.
How about half an inch based on the provided image? It doesn’t need to me exact it just needs to be moved over a little bit. And I guarantee that it would do the trick on your screen and anyone elses too.
I like my longbow the way it is. I would rather no one messed with it.
The concideration is that by the time you’re level 30, as far as the story is concerned you’ve already handed off the Warband to your second and have moved on to join an Order. So the Charr that come to help you are the new members of the Warband that the new head of your Warband has brought in.
Instead of a fancy “neutrality” system or instances, just make the EB starting locations cycle like the borderlands do (weekly) and the problem is solved. The issue arises when you’re stuck in one rank spot and can’t reach the opponent’s areas since keeps/towers in EB are generally harder to cap.
It was annoying for me to have to switch servers for a week to get the remaining completion for EB, and now that transfers are paid, it’s flat out unfair that you need to pay gems to get completion. I’d actually prefer WvW stay in completion so that PvE completionists like myself are forced to try out their trademark PvP. To be honest, I’m not much of a PvP person, but WvW is quite fun when I get bored of the usual Orr/FotM grind.
Technically you’re supposed to switch color regularly. Your color defines your starting location for each of the four maps. The problem is that it seems to be random, and since you have a 33% chance to be any color you tend to repeat colors alot. I think it would be better if it was a cycle so that every week you were the next color, unfortunately that also can’t work because you could change brackets and join with someone else that was that color. But there is probably a way to make it more consistent.
As always, on this matter. Why is this not already a thing?
I also want to be able to link from TP to chat so I can point things out to guildies.
Based on that picture it looks like you just need to make sure to only click on the right or top corner, instead of the middle.
But they could move it half an inch to the right and that would also fix it.
WvW PoIs don’t actually force people to PvP. WvW is actually still a PvE area with open PvP enabled. All you have to do is have the area already owned and you get it. You don’t have to personally participate.
The only problem with WvW in world completion is that you are subject to the ranking system actually giving you a chance to win enough to eventually get all of the points.
The problem here is not that WvW is necessary for world complete, it’s that the WvW brackets need a lot of work to keep things consistently fair.
No way, if it wasn’t for thie JP players would have no reliable way to grief people in this game. Griefers need an outlet too. Just be glad they removed the ability to drop seige equipment there, so no more arrow carts at the top of the pits. That was extremely annoying. Now they actually have to work for it, and if you’re good enough you can make them pay.
Just having traps if worthless if there are no repurcussions for those guys that tried to stop you with the traps once you get through.
When the game first came out, all the classes that had access to speed boost signets only got 10% boosts, but they were also at teir 1, so they could have them immediately. Thieves had to wait until teir 3 and 26 skill points before they got a speed boost, but for their wait they got 25%.
Now, however, all speed boost signets are 25%, so why exactly are thieves still stuck waiting until teir 3 to get them?
Hmm, so you admit that players are demonstrated to be a reversal of the lore regarding guilds. Considering that the game was marketed primarily for its GvG PvP, I think it’s a pretty big stretch to say that the word “guild” in the title is in no way whatsoever a reference to player guilds, even when considering the lore.
If the title wasn’t meant to invoke player organizations in any way, it would have been a different title.
Regardless of nomenclature, the point is that GW2 has not lived up to GW1’s standards of community-oriented features (the lack of GvG being one of the more blatant ones). This thread is an attempt to rectify that. Unless you’re trying to argue that we don’t need QOL features because of the game’s title, bringing it up in the first place is of questionable intent.
No, I’m just trying to point out that GvG has nothing to do with GW2 and never has. GvG was also not a selling point of GW1 that I am aware of. Guild Wars was never intended to indicate that Guilds fighting was something to look forward to, concidering the Guild Wars were a terrible thing that nobody in the world wanted to happen again.
Lastly, being able to have GvG has nothing at all to do with being able to see the last time someone was online, or more pertinent the last time someone represented your particular guild.
On the guild roster, there should be a section which shows when a player was last online. This will help find out how active players are in a guild.
This feature was on the first Guild Wars so I’m a little confused as to why it isn’t on this one too (as well as trading).
Anyway, anybody else want this?
I’d add this to the list of guild-related QOL features that are nonsensically absent from a game with “Guild” in the title (intuitive MOTD editing, MOTD in chat, coaltions, officer chat…)

You understand the the Guild in Guild Wars does not refer to players in any way, right?
It’s a rating system like that have in PvP sometimes. It serves no purpose though. I don’t worry about the effort other people are putting into an event, nor what reward they get out of it. I also don’t put much interest in what reward I get out of it. Just that I completed the event.
It takes a significant amount from the game, actually. Which is almost certainly the reason that’s not how the game works.
You have an out of combat weapon swap already. Just like every class in the game that wants more weapons than they can hold. It’s called keeping extra weapons in your inventory and activating them while not in combat.
See, everyone is still on equal footing.
Unfortunately they would have to make them specifically for each individual item because the shapes and sizes of even the same weapon type are so extensive that there’s no way to make a generic sheath and have it look consistently good.
Most weapons aren’t soulbound on acquire. Only Karma bought weapons are, and they’re not slavageable, nor vendorable. They’re also available to any character as long as they have the heart done.
Pro-tip: If you use a transmutation stone on a soulbound item and an item that isn’t soulbound it becomes account bound.
Legendaries in GW2 are just fancy weapon skins, they are no more powerful than any other level 80 exotic. Their purpose seems to me to keep those who want to grind busy, while those who don’t want to grind can avoid it and still have equipment as powerful as anyone else.
If you made them quest rewards, then you would have to find something else for the grinders to do…..
That is why the Epic quest should not be for Legendaries, but for Precursers, like was suggested here:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Precursors-should-EQ1-Epic-Quest/first#post1407251
You can go through youre epic quest to get the precurser, then you can stop, or if you really care about the grind you can finish it for the actual Legendary.
Transmutation stone. At level 80 I’m still wearing my Beetleton Coat from level 14. More then that, if I find something I like on one character for another character, I don’t want it to look different when my other character puts it on.
Having some unique class gear like we currently have for race gear wouldn’t be objectionable, just not everything.
CORRECTION
i meant that in guild wars one all armor looks were based on profession
You could have just editted that in… Like I editted this in
Also the ability to target lock, so when I turn to see what’s coming up behind me I don’t stop targetting the thing I was fighting before.
This, and auto target which almost never targets the thing immediately in front of me, and often attacks something off to the side which isn’t even on my screen.
well, my only concern is that any sort of scavenger hunt/questline/path to follow will result in legendary being less of a long term goal, right? because all it takes is for someone to figure out how to acquire them and essentially follow the guide?
i’m not downing it, because i myself would like a legendary one day and what not, just thinking from a different perspective
But it’s not for the Legendary. It’s for the Precursor for the Legendary. The Legendary still requires all the excessive effort that was involved in it already. The only difference is that you aren’t gambling for your precurser, you’re doing a long scavanger hunt questy thing for it that will absolutely give you the payoff you’re looking for in a reasonable time frame.
But you don’t understand one thing, that I didn’t see any thread in other MMO games about WP which I played. Second, I am using everything that game give: Salvaging, do events and helping, crafting. This is style which I play and all time I played in other MMO games, and I didn’t have any issues with transport.
I believe that most player rarely want to use WP in same map, so it’s means that they less helping, they do less random events if is not close.
The true is, that only in this game WP is trouble. Better think how game will change if they reduce WP cost or if they improve WP system.
First off, WPs aren’t a thing in other MMOs, so of course you’ve never seen things about them. In other games you have to run where you want to go. There are occational alternate modes of travel, like ships and speeders, which may or may not cost to use. And extremely limited fast travel options that let you teleport to a specific location every half hour or so. None of those things are related to WPs which let you go anywhere in the world any time you want, as long as you’ve unlocked them, for a nominal fee.
As for no one using them? Are you kidding? Everyone uses them all the time, because they’re inexpensive and easy. The only people who don’t use them are excessively cheap people. Or the unreasonably poor who spend all their money on crafting instead of only using the materials they’ve collected while playing the game.
Currently the WPs are not too expesive and are amazingly easy to use. There is nothing wrong with them.
So, as I understand it, the whole point of removing waypoint prices is to prevent a hit in profits while jumping around the map from dungeon to dungeon. I just did this. Cost me 3 silver to get from whever I was to Honor of the Waves. Then I made over 1 gold in the dungeon. Where exactly is the hit in profits? What exactly are you doing that involves you not having more than enough to go wherever you want, whenever you want?
I would like Daily and Monthly separate from the standard personal quest/heart/event list. Or else increase the total expanded tasks from 2 to 3. Better yet, give us the option to have all tasks expanded.
I’m not following this at all. We can have two sets equiped and can switch between them at will (unless you’re Engineer or Elementalist). The game isn’t designed to accomodate more sets than this, and most likely never will be.
I think as long as we’re not talking about story style missions like the person story quests. If it was some sort of event questline, like we had for Halloween, that would be cool. Nothing with instances, but where you had to go places and reach areas that were difficult to get to, possibly to fight a mob that is hard. Maybe Each of the three Dragon Lieutenants has the chance to drop an item that you have to bring all three together to some place that is at the end of a jumping puzzle which will give you something. From there you have to do another series of things. You have to talk to specific mobs that only even become available for a short time at the end of major event chains and you have to give the item to them, or get another item from them.
That’s basically how I recall the Epic Quests in EQ working.
I support this, because I don’t like the current design where I basically have to gamble to get it. If I’m going to start doing work for a Legendary I want it to be guaranteed that I will eventually be able to get it, just that it will be extremely difficult. Currntly there is absolutely no guarantee because there is no way to tell if I will get a precurser or if I do which one.
I want to know I’m working to get the weapon I want and only the weapon I want.
NO, this was disc. before and we DON’T Want this! GO play thief or warrior if u want rifle, all we need is to adjust the use of longbow!
Ranger is meant to use bows as main stuff.. idk why u play ranger if u miss gun so badly .. there is engineer, warrior thief and so on play that, i don’t want to ruin original icon of ranger!.
Who are “we?” My main and first 80 is a ranger and I would LOVE to have rifle. Go to the hunting lodge in Queensdale and point out the archers? They use Rifle. I want to also.
So the rich get richer, and the poor still don’t gain much benefit from it? Yay inflation!
IT wouldn’t be a problem if they didn’t disable your ability to do anything at all until you click it away. Definately support getting rid of it.
Wow dude thats not what happened it said medium armor and ended up being heavy read the topic description before you claiming my attention span jas issues.
That sounds like a bug, not a fault in the system. You should make a report to fix the problem, not a suggestion to change the whole design.
Regardless, I’m pretty sure you just messed up and bought the wrong thing.
Just more enemies and mobs to fight. Right. “That must be why killing young karka is the same as killing Veteran Karka and Champion Karka. All the same?”
And potshooting a few trash mobs in orr is the same as clearing the Temples. Ok…..
Just what “content” have you been doing?
I don’t need a new zone to gank trash mobs in. Challenge is in the current 80 zones, and ignored because there simply isn’t any challenge vs reward in the World loot tables.
Is this your answer to a challenge. Content that that forces you into a party. Is this how you want all new zones?
I soloed a Champion Reef Shark in Southsun, yesterday. It was plenty of challenge. Challenge for me is doing something alone that should take more people. Too bad I don’t feel the need to repeat it, as it dropped nothing. Couple of silver event payoff, no more than I get collecting eggs for the Chef there.
I don’t want new zones. I want the loot table fixed for Champions and Vets, and DEs in the high level zones made attractive enough to bother with. New “high level” zones with the same abysmal challenge vs reward matrix would be just more fail.
Champion’s are to easy to kite in circle’s. This should nerfed.
That’s what you got out of that, huh? Well done…
It’s simple, make it work just like all other major chests. It’s only accessible once per day.
Yes please. It’s a really pain. If you are off by even a copper over it won’t deposit anything. One click shopping please.
Why would I go to all the trouble to get Sunrise for my Ranger, concidering I very much like the two hander attacks, if it suddenly changed those attacks into something else I might not actually like?
It wouldn’t be a problem if they made it so you could switch out weapon skills, like utility skills. In fact, I think they should do this with all weapon skills and give us some variety. That way if you only want the skin, you can use all the original skills. If you want the extra skill, you can replace one of the current 5
This I could go for, but it shouldn’t be restricted to Legendary
Wait… you don’t have to use the rafters to reach the vista? I’ve only ever gotten there from that path.
So what you’re saying is that you would like to reduce the number of builds there are and eliminate even the semblance of uniquness for members of the same class?
“It is a terrible idea.” I know it’s a kitten good idea. You just lack the vision to see it.
Concidering you have yet to get a single comment in favor of anything you’ve said I really have to wonder how kittening good your vision really is. It seems a bit miopic to me.
Why can’t I +1 this more than once! Yes yes yes. I have wanted this ever since I went to Ebonhawke and got to experience the different events there, since the city is not a city.
The solution to levels is easy. Make anyone in the area of the event level 80, like they do in WvW and like they did during the Lion’s Arch events.
The only problem with this is the likelihood of backlash from RPers because events are getting in the way of their not playing the game. That may or may not actually be a problem though. It’s hard to say.
I support this idea as long as it is Guild Commander. Meaning if the person is in your guild they can see the commander, if they aren’t they can’t.
It allows guilds to organize amongst themselves, without interfering with anyone outside the guild. It also offers some interesting posibilities with a full blue commander. If he fills his squad with guild commanders of various guilds they could provide a lot more organization.
In order for you to be able to mail to an alt, the mail system would have to be changed from account based to character based. 5 accounts X 10 mail X 5 items per mail. 250 free slots.
No, it would just have to be changed so you can send yourself mail. The mechanics don’t matter though, because the word on high is they don’t want to do that.
