Hmm the wiki implies that the Risen in this step got buffed in February. A character with AoE heals will probably have an easier time of soloing this since they could probably keep the crew alive at the beach which is the most problematic bit.
Make sure your mailbox isn’t full …
In theory every class has the same number of available builds. Some classes might have more builds that only an insane person would use though.
If it is researched on the server you are guesting to you can activate the bounty. You have to activate the bounty on the server the bounty mission was started on.
Ah this makes sense.. So even though I have those opened on my server and have influence, I’m actually at 0 influence / 0 upgrades on the guested server just like transferring..
I did activate the bounty on the guest server, but seems that it doesn’t recognize it because technically I have no tiers opened there. Well at least it was only a training bounty, that was why I wanted to test it. But it makes sense, even if it would be cool to go to other servers and get help with bounty’s on more populated servers.
Actually it would have been better if it was one of the normal bounties. :P
Those only cost 200 Influence. The bounty training cost 300.
Since you’ll want to organize things before activating the bounty why not get the helpers to guest on your server instead? 5 people is enough for many of the targets(main problem is the searching) so you don’t really need a highly populated server. It is even easier if you only want the commendations since you can use a tier 3 and pick the easiest target.
So, any news about this recipe? Im trying to complete tailor recipes and never found that one.
This is medium armor so it would be leatherworker not tailor.
They nerfed potion of ascalonian mages? sigh We used that occasionally just for the lulz. Running around as a group of ghosts in PvE was mildly amusing. And they removed that? Annoying.
At least in Guild Wars 1 you could earn a wearable title if you used enough tonics. The only reason I don’t delete the ones I have now is just in case they bring that back.
Well no, they fixed it but its still partially broken. Before the change there was no way to get out of the transformation and you couldn’t change utilities anyway.
I doubt skillpoints have anything to do with this. The problem is the t6 dust. It is very easy to end up with a lost given the 250 common/50 fine + 5 t6 dust required for the conversion. Dust + elonian wine makes the core → lodestone conversion pretty bad as well but at least in that case you can still have a chance of saving a bit of silver.
For a long time I didn’t want do to new AC, mostly because of the posts on this forum. But this last weekend I was forced to get 180 (3 runs) because I wanted a piece of armor.
From what I have seen, AC is not hard, it’s only when people try to glitch or speed run that they fail and cause all kinds of cluster kittens. Just run it as intended and it will be fine. The spider queen is easy, kill adds, kill fire traps, queen spawns, kill few adds, keep out of red circles, stun break. DPS down low health Queen. easy.
Stun break? O_o
I don’t remember getting stunned, just a lot of immobolize.
There are already chests around in the open world … they just don’t require any key. We really don’t need anymore inventory clutter. -_-
I don’t really get the economy, at least for low levels since I’m still under level 30, and found that there is really no need to buy gear that often. Most of what I need drops often, unless your really really think spending 45 copper on a chest piece to gain an extra 3 points is important.
A new set every 10-15 levels is generally sufficient.
Carry harvesting tools from the start. They drop in slots on the hero page and don’t take up room that way. Mats actually seem to have value in the game so it is worth it to harvest them every time you run across a node.
Carry a spare set!
Don’t worry about filling your bags up with mats. You can right click on them in your inventory and send them to your bank from where ever you are without actually having to go to the bank.
You can also click on the gear icon on the upper right corner of the inventory window and deposit all of them at once to save on having to click so much.
You can use salvage kits to break down worthless items for mats. I generally break down about half of what I don’t need and put the rest on TP for a few extra coin depending on the item. Once again I don’t get the economy and it seem the TP isn’t going to get you much unless you are flipping items. Too many blues drop in my opinion, toss in a 5% magic find bonus and you will never be short on blues.
I break down all white and blue but some lower level greens are actually worth selling on the TP because their vendor price is low but they sell for around the same price as lv80 greens.
I’m going purely off of Perfect World’s other games for my opinion on Neverwinter. If they know how to balance classes in 15 games, then I think they can do it one more time.
As an off/on STO and CO player, I really want to post this to those games’ forums and see how much of a laugh I’d get.
Maybe you’ve been playing the wrong class in those game.
All jumping puzzles have chests at the end. The question you have to ask is: “Are you at the end of the jumping puzzle?”. Many have ‘fake endings’ where you think you’re done, but you’re not.
As far as the chest reset, it’s a 23:59 timer. So, if you did one yesterday at 1pm, you wouldn’t be able to do again any time prior to 1pm today. Hope that helps.
They reset with the daily. If you are standing next to the chest when the daily resets you might have to go to the character select screen and go back in. Did that the other day in the frostgorge JP.
Wall Breached Blitz has never had a chest, probably because it wasn’t originally counted as one.
Grendich Gamble just has the Rich Silver Vein.
King Jalis’s Refuge should have one but that is just bugged right now.
Even for JP with a chest it is not required to open the chest to get credit for the daily/monthly. The only JP where this matters is Griffonrook Run.

Once you have enough experience with the game class is completely irrelevant. You should also make dying a learning experience. You don’t necessarily have to do anything about it but if you start to see a pattern it should become obvious what you should fix.
Did this again(all 3 paths) recently. I’ll add ‘the dungeon designer is an kitten #8217; to the list. -_-
Hallway full of spike traps with ranged AoE spammers at the end. THEN after you kill those a room full of silvers while the traps remain active.
Oh and whoever did the dungeon layout is apparently unaware there is an Engineer class with grenades. You basically have to go melee with grenades unless you want them colliding with the ceiling.

Do 5 of these, any 5. Sell the guaranteed rare. There is your 1g.
Mob with cripple is easy to find. Earth elementals to the east of Pagga’s waypoint in Malchor’s Leap when the Melandru statue is inactive. They certainly love spamming those cripples. -_-
If you are testing with the rune then you should eat a http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bowl_of_Lemongrass_Poultry_Soup too. A 98% reduction should be very noticeable.
omg!?! Anet are nerfing health now!?!
No. Your health goes up and down depending on the time of week and how well your server is doing in WvW.
Your health will be at its lowest right after the WvW reset. It should get higher as the week progresses.
I know, couldn’t you detect the post dripping with irony? Read too many OMG!? THE WORLDS ABOUT TO END because (insert trivial point here…)
With these forums you can never be too safe with assuming the worse …
The root of so much unhappiness in this game is envy. Everyone compares what they have to what someone else has. Want to know what my ranger has that your warrior doesn’t.
A pet. lol
I like the pet. I like collecting pets. I enjoy swapping out pets, like an extra weapon. And if I’m not as effiicient as a warrior, that’s okay.
Because playing my warrior bored me to tears.
Mmm the benefits of being an altaholic. My engineer is also a lot more damaging than my warrior but that is not any accident. I would like ranger a lot more if dodging and 2 with sword wasn’t so unreliable. Pets do not really feel like they contribute enough given the attention investment.
If I were in that situation I would kill the skales under the bridge just outside of divinity’s reach. Anything less than or euqal to your actual level but not more than 30 below is fine. The skales drop both vials of blood and eggs. So that is exp and gold.
There isn’t really any need to go after ever increasing level mobs in GW2 unlike some other games. There have been people who leveled to somewhere in the 60s just in the starting instance.
The “fight two boss at the same time, kill one and the other absorbs it’s power” thing is hardly new or unique to Dark Souls. I’ve never played Dark Souls but I was expecting that to happen anyway because that has been used in so many RPGs.
The entire boss sequence seemed more like a Borderlands boss. Right down to the intro, the personalities and the transition cutscene.
Using my engineer when that happened. Don’t even have any weapons to swap either!
hmmmmm…..
By swap I meant I was replacing my ori axe with my mithril axe.
They shouldn’t be. You’ll probably want to put that in the bugs section.
I also ended up with ruined ore when I swapped my axe while in the middle of mining ore(it happened to be an ori node
). Avoid doing anything sort of equipment swapping while mining/chopping just to be safe.
I’ve also gotten ruined logs while trying to toss grenades in the middle of chopping a tree.
If they have a “good” week and lose by only 150,000 points they will actually gain rating. Their only saving grace is that SFR is capable of losing alot of glicko rating and is more likely to swap places with a tier 2 server, which should accelerate Deso’s descent.
That is the thing that has had me confused for a while(actually still confused by it). How can we be gaining rating while losing?!
Right now http://mos.millenium.org/matchups#EU shows that VS is way ahead of either Desolation and SFR. It has more than both combined yet VS is the one losing rating? Am I looking at that chart incorrectly?
The Frenchies on Vizunah simply need to spread towards the other French servers. I guess its clear to all of us that Viz is the most crowded and active WvW server in whole EU, so by making Viz lose players the T1 would balance itself et voila, you got your fancy T1 matchup. Make them transfer to other servers, I don’t even get how they can regularly bear queues of 3 hours, whereas every other server in T1/T2 almost never have queues and if they have it’s like 1 hour max. This would certainly influence the whole EU ladder, so that we might get new matchups.
So Anet: free transfers to the less populated French servers.
Where are you getting those queue times from? If that is true that just makes the blackout even better. They can sit in a 3 hour queue to get in and then … do absolutely nothing. Well maybe not nothing, EB might be good for farming some lodestones.
I know. The point is, vizuna is literally cleaning it’s kitten with deso and sfr x) That isn’t exactly fun, it’s a fight we can’t win (especially now that people got tired of fighting viz, while in viz there is SO many people they hardly get tired at all), we need a decent situation. Something that we can you know, actually fight.
Well I guess there is still one option left. Bore the enemy to death(just completely abandon WvW for the next month or something). Organizing existing people to not fight seems a lot easier than organizing non-existent people to fight. People in the lower tier attempting to do the same would only help the cause. Either they do something or they can deal with the PR of WvW being dead on a pile of servers.
I think this is better than asking ANet for help because this can be done NOW. ANet only seems willing to do things on a monthly cycle.
Action through inaction has a sort of weird appeal to me.
Without any action of Anet, this, as i see of it, is the only option you’d have to change the situation right now. Simply boycot WvW for 1-2 weeks, that should be enough to drop one tier …
We already tried that, it’s impossible to not score any points. And no matter how bad we do, whoever is in tier 2 will just score what they need to not move up. We paid for the game, we want to play the game. Not boycott it for two months so we can have fun again. This is the only way out of this that I can see as of now, untill another server does what is necessary in tier 2. But as I said, it is beyond our control. It shouldn’t be that way.
Have we? I guess the bigger guilds can just tell their own members about that but I don’t recall seeing anything about that in being mentioned in the WvW map chats. It shouldn’t be necessary to acquire absolutely no points, just not enough points.
I agree with the playing the game you paid for thing but I guess I can’t really empathize since I play more on the PvE side of things.
There is also the third option of Desolation and SFR combining to fight VS. The problem there is that there is nothing in game to make that work. Even if it does work I am not seeing a whole lot of benefit for either server.
If there exists a way to track how many people (from each server) are on each map then i propose this:
The points are calculated by the relationship between the server numbers.
Example:
red team have 10 players
blue team have 20 players
green team have 100 players (T1EU)
The lowest team is the base (in this case red)
The relationship between the two are: Blue 2X and Green 10X
working this into % we have a point reduction of 50% for blue and 90% (it can never be more than this) (this is calculated per tick)
The reasoning behind this as that no matter how much you are outnumbered the outnumbering server must hold more to get the same points. This would also allow the servers with NOT MUCH COVERAGE to move up. (as long as they played well).
This then turns the meta into skill and tactics – NOT about numbers and time coverage.I believe it would work well against the servers that blob and map hop when they notice attacks. In the above example red team would get 10 points for capturing a tower whilst green team would only get one point (and blue 5)
There is certainly a way to track how many people from each server are on each map, that is how the game knows when you have to queue to get in. The scoring would be good if the only thing that mattered was the score but it isn’t. VS already has enough people to steamroll everything. Your proposed change just means Desolation and SFR would have an even harder time of getting rid of them.
I know. I still have that feeling of “Cant wait to finish to get home and login to wvw” because you make your own fun in this game.
I hear that a lot. A normal misconception.
But it seems like creating once own fun is impossible when once idea of fun is tacticle play, tacticle defense and tacticle thought.
I upgrade, siege and stock up a keep/tower for a better defense and the supply I make sure is there for emergency repairs and/or emergency building. After 6 hours of this there is nothing more deflatting then seeing set players drain that supply in 5 min because;
- they can not be kitten to run to a camp
- they think its good to repair a wall being attacked
- they just simply wanna have supply on them
I mean .. it’s not >their< idea of fun to run supply, repair or escort.
You forgot a few things. Achievement points. Leaderboards. Dailies.
Let us use silk and leather together with siege blueprints to upgrade them into superiors and see how much of that silk/leather is burned up in a week.
That doesn’t look like it would work very well either. Mithril Ore prices have been dropping for a while. Then again all speculation relating to elder wood/mithril ore is useless unless ANet makes a move to eliminate the teleporting bots.
They do, make sure you bring orichalcum picks. You can msg me in game if you need a 5th.
The new jewels aren’t all that appealing though, Vitality,Power, Toughness with Vitality as the main stat.
One of the recipes dropped for me from the final chest in the F&F dungeon.
If you know the names of the recipes, you can buy them from the AH. They were around 5 silver each, last I checked.
Recipe: – Consumable – Masterwork
Just ignore all the ones for corrupted stuff.
Is the inquest vestments transmuted?
You get to destroy them …
There is only one jump I have issue with in that puzzle. A while ago I realized that you have to jump a bit to the left rather than straight ahead. This is two jumps before you exit the cave.
Edit: This is the same jump Zenyatoo is referring to.

I don’t think his mailbox is full. I sent 4g to one of his alts, which he almost never uses.
Same mailbox is shared between all characters. Well they are shared for player to player mail anyway.
Looks like you were given the transformation from Potion of Ascalonian Mages. Effect is exactly the same except the potion adds an apple buff icon. And 0 works for leaving.
Also nice timing on that screenshot.
be sure the condition you want to remove has a white border (duration counter). There are some fixed “conditions” with almost the same icon as the “usual” ones. You can’t remove those without white countdown border. Not a necro thingy.
Pretty sure those are normal Burning. I removed them a bunch of times with my Warhorn and the Guardian was removing them too.
Dungeons
1) 30 for story, 35 for explorable mode
2) not really, lots of mixed opinions
3) lots of mixed opinions because any of the classes can be spec’ed into any or some combinations of those roles
4) not really sure where you are going with this. each has increasing level recommendation. the game will send you in game mail about them as you reach the appropriate level for the story mode and explorable mode is always story mode +5
5) not yet, being worked on
Leveling
1) all nodes within range will show up
2) no but there seems to be enough map chat spam in various zones to have this covered
3) not really
4) most zones have multiple entrances, it is entirely possible to enter from the “wrong” side and end up with things that are too many levels above you. there is no straight forward way to determine which is the “correct” entrance. The personal story doesn’t really help much there. One workaround is to clear all the 1-15 and then clear each new zone you enter. That will put you at equal or higher level(but you get downscaled) than the mobs all the time.
5) no
1) just look at the combined total and use whichever is higher, I assume the +4 is from a rune. You can always add the same rune to the lv15 as well.
2) those are reasonable but at this point in the game it’s generally cheaper to buy than craft. replacing one with jeweler might be a good idea. some people have trouble with trying to level multiple professions at the same time that use the same fine crafting materials.
I did a run with two 30’s, a 60 and two 80’s. The run went pretty well. The level 30’s weren’t word either, they were new players. So there were a few issues with them not taking advantage of dodging and such, but overall the run went pretty well.
There will always be people that demand stupid things. Last night on gw2lfg I saw a post for fractal 8, yes 8, that stated PROS ONLY, NO NECRO, RANGER. THIEF OR ENGI!!! There are a lot of people playing this game, so you’re bound to run into ignorant people. I recommend starting your own group and note in the lfg that low level characters are welcome.
I can see a legitimate reason for that requirement! If I was extremely terrible I would want pros only so they can carry me through the whole thing.
I start all my dungeons to avoid being griefed out and having my spot sold. And or network errors.
That’s nice that you found a (bad) work around.
ArenaNet hasn’t fixed it because it’s low on their priority list or they don’t even know about it.
If people don’t complain about it, it won’t get raised on the priority list.
They certainly know about it since Robert has commented about it. Possibly more than once. It would require rewriting some code. How high a priority would depend on how often it happens. Since they had a way to know how many people were leaving party to kick out everyone to bring in their friends for the end reward(before it was changed to how it is now) I assume they have a way of tracking this as well.
Uh … so what happens if you press 0?
Honestly? I didn’t see any competance at all. First room, they’re both KOed along with the other NPCs in the room—I couldn’t even go res them, as the Veterans kept lurking right on top of their bodies despite me trying to pull them off. Eventually got tired of having my armor damaged and gave up. They were a lot more useful in the previous pair of instances, really. :-/ Bad enough this is a Dungeon, but you could at least make the Heroes as worth working with as the ones you get in GW1.
GW1 heroes were meant to be substitutes for actual players. These are not. Even henchmen were meant to do more. These are around more for flavor/context/story telling (for example in the beginning sequence with the drill it wouldn’t make a lot of sense for the player character to suddenly have knowledge about how to work dredge machinery). That makes a huge difference in what they should and should not do. Ideally they should not be dead weights. Only part where I would have considered them dead weights was when Rox was shooting arrows into the earth elementals’ reflective shields.
As for doing better in the previous instances, that is to be expected since those didn’t involve any silver mobs.
The length, difficulty, and reward are about right for a “story mode” dungeon. Will need to do it a few more times. Other judgements are still clouded by the shinies.
I used Rare armor plus masterwork trinkets on my elementalist for quite a while(it was my first character) due to being too lazy to replace them with exotic. Did pretty much everything including dungeons(although not Arah explorable). Didn’t seem like I was doing any worse then the rest of the party who was wearing exotic. Switching to exotic was noticeable in some place but not “night and day” noticeable.
You’ll probably want to make sure you have the chat filter enabled as well then.
It can be set to None, Normal, or Maximum. I have it set to none but generally don’t see much issue except occasionally in Lion’s Arch.
The Update – 30 April 2013 Reset my points to 0 and i know i have completed thousands of dungeon runs.
A bug is a bug … but according to your own screenshot only 10 of those thousands of runs actually contributed to the title unless you meant you completed those thousands after the bug was introduced.
I seem to have lost all mine as well but it was a trivial amount since most of my dungeon runs were done before I got Dungeon Master.
If you are getting lost/disoriented you might want to check your minimap rotation setting. It can be set to either rotate with your character or not(in which case it shows a cone representing your character’s field of view). One or the other might work better for you(too bad BOTH is no longer an option >_<).
Heh … FotM as the garbage bin for temporary content?
