Why do you feel entitled to have everything that’s available? Do you go to a casino and expect to come out with a return? Do you feel you are required to buy gems for something that’s completely optional?
Get over it. They are rare skins for a reason. You can’t always have everything. I want the shield skin badly but I don’t feel like I’m entitled to have it.
“Would you like to buy some Soda or a Hotdog? They’re $50 a piece.”
~~“Wtf?”
“Stop being so entitled.”
I really loved the idea’s for both.
Of course after 2-3 games they get sort of boring since they pretty shallow, but that fact that they technically made a MOBA/DOTA game in the most basic form shows alot of potential.
Can anyone say, Costume Brawl + DotA style map + Varied Costume Skill Sets?
In the mean time, try the pact stave you can get for completion of the storyline.
There’s still too many underwhelming skins, especially compared to greatsword. =p
There’s no game I can think of that allows multi-class in a competitive scenario that’s actually serious.
There’s just too many gimmicks.
And it’s a decent way to help limit the OPness of certain classes if they ever are, limiting one per team.
Let’s hope they give us a “Free tourney” that’s essentially a premade-free Solo Queue.
It’s just a passive 30 hp per second tic (at lvl 80 at least) not a boon, doesn’t scale.
It’s rather bad.
There are so many underwhelming staff skins, and then when you see some beautiful trident skins that could easily pass off as staves I cry a little inside. On top of that since they’re underwater they sort of go to waste.
My Suggestion : Allow people to transmute skins from tridents to staves and vice versa.
This would help immensely with Legendary skins as well. As a necro BiFrost is really unattractive, but the Serpent Trident Legendary would be an amazing fit, allowing me to transmute that to a staff would be incredible. As would other skins.
Or at the VERY least, please throw us some sexier staves!! There’s too many that are simply boring sticks with small hood ornaments on top. A good example is the Molten Staff skin from CoF, not even a little flame, nothing, just a hood ornament.
So please Anet, as a primary Staff user, and a lover of sexy skins, give us some love. I beg of you. <3
I just wish it was more lucrative.
Title for beating it, title for beating it 25 times, 50 times, etc.
Hell maybe even a skin. RAWR!!
I finished it 47 times now on my asura.
However there was one time when I jumped through the window while people were starting the tower again and it ported me on top of the starting area roof.
As seen here : https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/halloween/LOL-Clocktower-Bug/first#post554904
Don’t know if it’s asura related or not (doubt it), but it only happened once. Is that what happened to you? Oo
Asura
Necro
No Speed.
Edit : 47 wins now

lol happened to me too !
I could’ve stop laughing lol.
I got shut out of chat so I had to mail people to tell them I was stuck above them lmao.
On a serious note though, the bug prevents you from looting the chest, so if someone FINALLY makes it but then is sent up there, they’re gonna be PISSED.
(edited by Knote.2904)
Ok, so I finally made it for the 29th time, except when I jumped though the tower this time. I guess some beams got crossed and when people were sent up into the tower the same time I jumped through the window, I some how got spat out on top of the roof where everyone starts for the Tower.
Pics below lmao.
edit : Added another pic to show what happens to everyone during the cinematic lol.

I’ll gladly trade my 250 ToT bags from my 25 wins for the title Anet!!!! Make it happens-a-Lot!
Forget 30 wins; doing it once with an asura is harder than doing it 100 times on a human or norn.
I do agree the game could use more titles (ex., for individual crafts, jumping puzzles, doing all paths in specific dungeons, etc.).
Yeah it’s tough for asura, atleast for the first part, camera bounces all over the place, but once all the fat people die you’re good to go.
Trust me stick with it.
Yea! People that beat the clocktower 25-30 times should get some sort of title like… “Wasted my life” or “Sir Brags-a-lot”. It’d be nice to label the people I wouldn’t want anything to do with
!
Fix’d.
And YES this, Sir-Brags-a-Lot.
DO IT ANET!! I WANNA BRAG….S’lot.
edit : 23 wins
(edited by Knote.2904)
I’m on my 21th win so far. My guildies are hating me so hard atm.
I finally helped one get their first after 3 hours LOL.
Could you add a little insignificant title for like 25-30 wins on clock tower? Just for extra bragging rights? I would love to shove it in my guildies faces lol. =p
I’m creaming my pants right now., this new FOV is amazing. =D
You know what I’m more pissed about.
This is the first time I’ve seen a chest that’s actually rewarding. How about they add that chest to the dungeons and let it drop an exotic every once in a while or some rares?
>=[
(edited by Knote.2904)
Yeah I think it should be left as is. However they should either make it a solo instance or make other’s invisible.
Other player models can make it a miserable experience.
Can you just make it so everyone else is invisible or something? This is starting to piss me off. z.z
The way he went out didn’t sit right with me.
He could’ve just came with us and closed the kitten gate… >=[
Witch costume isn’t really all that. Yeah you can be immune on broom but that’s the best you got. The puddle has a delay at the beginning that makes you vulnerable to dmg/interuption, then you’re stationary and after the block/dmg part stops you’re still stuck sitting there, vulnerable, for like 2-3 seconds, not able to do a kitten thing.
Also Thieves can abuse the hell out of their swiftness on dodge trait so they can’t be outran.
Yeah, they should really just remove that feature and keep it more of a fluff thing than an actual combat mechanic.
The thing is, they need to make events more dynamic, diverse, complex and difficult yes, but before they do that they need to address the Tagging issue. The way people are rewarded for events.
They need to get away from loot by trying to aoe tag mobs being the best rewards, the reward should be by just participating and winning your events. Otherwise people will ALWAYS do the part of the event that involves killing as many mobs as possible.
Centaurs fanning around and trying to kite players? While melee centaur are zerging on the other side, I’m going to go aoe the mass of centaurs while the poor ignorant folk chase down single centaurs.
Play a supportive build that focuses on buffing, rezzing, healing allies and controlling enemies with CC? Too bad you probably won’t be able to do nearly enough aoe dmg to warrant any loot, especially if mobs still die too fast. Again same issue.
Want to use a single target weapon/build? Lol nope.
Tagging takes away from the events completely, I’m constantly trying to make sure I’m tagging each mob for 10-20% of their health, and then sometimes ignore those and finding more mobs to tag, it’s flawed.
I don’t mean to be off topic with this post. I agree 100% on making the events more complex and difficult, which in terms makes them 1000% more fun. But they really need to rework the way people are rewarded.
5x Bunker Mesmer.
Come at me. =p
Thieves cut their survivability for dmg? What?
They’re one of the best classes, next to mesmer, that can get away with going full Glass cannon BECAUSE they have a ton of survivability that don’t rely on stats.
But, I sort of agree on guardians, they can be quite hard to kill while putting out a ton of dmg. The main thing I hate about them is that they’re constantly proccing 1 second burns for just completely unmitigatable dmg, can’t cleanse, ignore dmg reduction etc. On top of retaliation of course.
He wasn’t THAT bad. The only things that stuck out to me were him standing around not doing much during a fight sometimes, and also neglecting to use his Blink to save himself many times.
The way the game rewards you is incredibly screwed up and poorly designed. Same issues Warhammer had, you would think Anet would’ve learned from it, but I guess not.
I think you fellow necro’s might enjoy this.
I was playing a warrior in pvp the other day, decided to go for a condition duration CC build. Got my aoe fear to about 5 seconds. And my short cooldown immobilizes were 5-6 seconds lol.
Well it does have potential that’s for sure. They could have more interesting costume skill sets, and even some more focused mini-games or instances for Costume Brawl pvp.
i don’t mind them at all. most can be finished in about 2 minutes. granted there’s a few that take way too long ( the one where you paint frogs blue comes to mind) or are extremely repetitive ( catch the barrels of ale which is impossible or rouse 60 drunken patrons) but overall i enjoy them. some of them are fun and original ( take food back from rabbits).
I think they could’ve made them more like mini-games or something that could’ve made them alot more fun to do, especially if they actually had unique rewards. Like that one quest in the norn starting area where you have to dodge the rabbits.
Sylvari versus Risen has some great Plant vs. Zombie potential. =p
Or a Sylvari Plant Turret Tower Defense mini game, etc.
Most hearts are just a boring grind.
They actually could’ve done something like that with Legendaries.
Mixing it up between Personal Stories and basic grind. You could get some nice background lore on the legendaries too lol.
Speaking of the Orders. I would love to see more “quests” of those. They could just fun things that could test your skill and stuff in return for fluff rewards. Like Order of Whispers, you’d have a stealth mini-game to assassinate or steal from someone, and it could actually be tough, a legit stealth game. Or another one where you actually have to fight a boss with it’s own mechanics and it actually being difficult.
What surprises me though. I’m the type of person that usually doesn’t have a problem with the basic “kill 10 rats” sort of quests. Sometimes I actually sort of enjoyed just sitting down, having my list of 10-15 quests and just get em all done in an efficient manner.
But hearts…. I don’t know I just can’t do it, they drive me nuts lol.
It really is. Sometimes I’m actually sort of overwhelmed with just how much there is and how much detail went into it, or just thinking how much time was spent making it all. Orr for example, there is just so many massive ruins and so much detail put into it, I try to imagine what it looked like before it was sunken.
Unfortunately, my Asuran Clown Car point of view gets in the way of things, FoV as well. Sometimes I will play with my window squashed just to let my eyes breath and really be able to take in the environment, but that ruins my UI and can make it hard to play sometimes. As shown in the last 2 pics.
TLDR; Game’s environmental design/art is incredible.
TLDR2; Camera Woes.
I’m not really sure why exactly, but I can’t stand Hearts. I just reached Orr and lvl 80 a few days before the Halloween Event, and I have to say, I actually felt relieved zoning in and see ZERO hearts on my screen. I could just go out, and do w/e I wanted, with events ALL over the place.
All I could think of was “This is how the whole game should’ve been from the start”. I’m actually reluctant to go back and complete lower level zones because all I can think of is running around having to grind hearts with few events happening.
And on top of that, I’m actually encouraged to group in Orr which is nice, although at first I’ll admit when I found I couldn’t solo certain events I got annoyed, but it gives me a reason to group up with someone and just go around finishing stuff and it might actually be challenging enough for us to need some teamwork. It’s great.
Anyone else feel the same?
TBH I’m really surprised this isn’t a top priority issue. Tagging in this game is a complete joke and extremely flawed design, and it only takes away from these events.
At the very least they need to just increase mob HP scaling when more and more people show up as a band aid fix.
What I find more irritating is that it’s not an actual option or mechanic that can be used to help reduce the lag.
Like in WvW, why can’t I have the option to cull player models or something but keep their name and actions showing so I can have some FPS gains and still be able to see and fight them? Something Aion had.
Culling people completely makes it useless and really annoying.
I’m actually starting to get annoyed with the Greatsword Favoritism. Makes me wish I actually had a class that used one. The hand/dagger looks like crap on my asura, it’s so small you can’t even tell it’s a hand holding it, just a really ugly handle.
And speaking of the halloween weapons, the crafted ones need some particles or something, considering how much they actually cost to make. I just don’t get it.
In a game where literally the only thing to look forward to is Cosmetic skins, Anet really sucks making them…
I just thought of this, especially after seeing some of the unique skillsets some costumes have, like the Ghost’s. And considering each costume can have 4-5 skills, what if they added a little MOBA like event/instance just to mess around in, maybe earn mini pets/skins/new costumes and achievements.
Could be potentially awesome lol.
Could you get “that guy” to come here and post something for us? =D
It doesnt actually make it into 130%. It makes the 100% Life Force into 130% of your hp instead of just 100%. It will last just as long but it will have more “hp” in it
Yes but after testing, the same amount of dmg was reducing life force by the same exact amount of % with and w/o Soul Reaping.
For example, pop in and out of DS and take 2k hit, lose 13% Life Force doesn’t change.
It’s the sum, always the sum.
Power by far is better for leveling.
Condition can get pretty boring rather quickly when you’re just leveling, you’ll get sick of chaining 3 aoe bleeds back to back and then just sceptre autoing stuff slowly to death. Epidemic aoe’ing stuff is always nice and all but still.
Power is just more flexible, you’re not screwed if stuff dies too fast, you can kill objects better, you bring arguably stronger aoe dmg, and death shroud is alot more useful.
Although it usually ends up just being Life Blast spamming which can get boring too, it does hit pretty decently, and again, double well + life transfer just wrecks stuff. And you have a little more weapon diversity, can switch up between Axe/Dagger and Staff.
I think it could slightly be looked at as an exploit.
I never thought of it TBH, I already chugged my monthly and daily jugs. =[
I will be doing it next time unless fixed otherwise. =p
Usually this is why most games try to avoid having xp boosters affect things that can be saved and turned in like Quests. Only other game I can think of that actually let you do this was Allods Online, and in fact was important to efficiently lvl at one point lol.
AFAIK there are no unique gear from karma vendors.
It would be nice if they added some more karma based carrots like unique skins, or even just fluff or mini pets or w/e.
One question:
Why do you think the value 1% Crit damage equals to the value of 1 point of any other stat?
I don’t think you understood what he was talking about. =p
He’s saying you can get more stat value by getting crit dmg on your gems instead of your gear because it doesn’t translate down the same as other stats.
Best example is to look in the Heart of the Mists, grab a Bezerker Amulet and compare the stats to the gem. Amulet gives 15% Crit Dmg and gem Gives 5% that’s 25% stat value for the gem versus the amulet, where as the other stats 125 versus 798 is more like 1/6 or so.
Don’t forget the 20% bonus dmg on people below 50% which Mug + CnD usually drops them to that point, and the 10% more dmg when people have a condition, which Mug will do.
That’s usually a FULL 30% increase on backstabs. And 10% on CnD.
Also most thieves will use Immob venom with the combo. And it all lands in about a 1 second window. Oh and oh course the Signet, 15% boost on all 3 hits. Which instead of adding 3000 to backstab, it still adds 2400 dmg to the overall combo.
And I’m not here trying to be bias and say thieves are OP or anything, these are just facts, as I’ve been playing thief since beta lol.
The only thing I will say is OP is Mug, and MAYBE the dmg on CnD, they could probably use a slight toning down. Mug at the very least should be adjusted, it’s a 10 point trait for crying out loud.

2nd sword or axe please. I might return to the game. Also…lower some of the casting times. Necro has more long casting times on their abilitys than any other profession for no real advantage. cast times = interrupted more, miss entirely cause they have time to roll or run behind something.
Yeah that’s pretty annoying. For staff for example it’d be nice if each mark was 1/4 cast time like Chillblains when it’s traited. It can be a pain trying to use the fear or putrid quickly enough.
Frankly, I just want another weapon, we’re lacking compared to other classes (besides Ele/Eng obviously), and I was feeling bummed about our lack of suitable Legendaries.
I remember testing this in the mists, I don’t think it’s working either.
But hey, just another day for a Necro.
