Hi,
I just notice that out of all the dungeon merchants, only the orr mechant sells exotic armor pieces which do not contain the associated rune. (superior rune of orr). These pieces generally come with an unused upgrade slot much unlike the other dungeon merchants which come with its associated dungeon related rune in their exotic armor pieces. Therefore, is this a bug or as intended? I did a quick search before I opened this topic but found no answer.
Thanks
Is it possible to get a reply for this please :o

Why is this topic still alive lol.
People like to blame something when something doesn’t go right in parties. Unfortunately, they blame players with magic find even though they may the ones who are the source of the real underlying problem.
If a player wears magic find but still out damage/survives you, who is wearing your so called “proper” gear, does this player still deserve to be harassed by you or should he be harassing you for your poor lack of skill?
If a player sucks, hes gonna suck regardless what gear he wears, if a player is good, he’s gonna shine even if hes wearing blues.
I MUCH rather have a FULL MF gear player who is skilled then a crap and non-communicating player with full so called “proper” gear. The people who argue people who wear MF aren’t doing their best, does that mean if someones best is no good, is it ok? and if the MF players ability is double that of yours, does it make you the liability? STOP trying to define players with just numbers and start learning to play the game for what it really is.
tldr: this game isn’t wow, numbers isn’t what defines your player ability, real skill is.

Hmm… the dinovo should be more than good enough for this game really. But if you really think its a keyboard lag problem, then just stick with any logitech cabled keyboards. i.e any of its gaming g series one will do (g105, g110 etc etc) or microsoft sidewinder
There has been no comment on this even though a lot of people have reported it doesn’t work. It’s a bit careless on anet’s side. Once again, no idea how this huge bug manage to get through. It’s like no one bothered to test anything practically before a patch. Makes me afraid of any new patches which comes in.
If people would all boycott and stop buying precursors at so called overpriced rates then it’ll be fine. Obviously, these precursor prices are still considered acceptable to some people.
Imagine if there were flying mounts but then there would be no fly zones or speed limits and ther would be flying mount cops who catch you or you get speed ticket mails sent to you from speed cameras and then when the cop catches you you can try seduce him to let you off it you’re a female (tough luck male toons) and then you could also try to out run the cops and then start a mega flying mount chase only to end crashing down into LA and screen goes black and white with the spinning character with the corner saying.. wasted……..
Well it makes sense that not everyone can join the top t1 t2 servers else there would be no point for t3 and below servers.
This is monstrous! Skinning and stuffing live baby quaggans for their own sadistic pleasure!!! The quaggan will not be pleased.
Items don’t disappear after awhile. You can’t deposit soul/account bound items. I would not recommend putting valuables in there since if anyone who has access to the bank gets hacked, it doesn’t get restored with the account restoration. So put stuff like cooking ingredients or excess cheap mats in it?
I’ve played since release but I have yet to get a SINGLE exotic from these chest. On average per day, I kill about 3 dragons (most likely more)? so lets say I killed them for 5 months, that a whooping 180 chest i’ve opened but no exotic lol. That’s some pretty bad luck. Other friends I know have gotten at least 4 exotics out of these chest who kill it approximately the same amount as me, if not less.
Sometimes things like these really make me wonder if there is some unintended code for bad luck. Anyways, if you got just as kitten luck as me, feel free to share
Honestly, I’m a GW1 player and I just don’t like anything about this game. I probably will never play it again. I come on the forums to check how ArenaNet is doing but I really don’t see myself ever getting into it again. My friends and I are all playing other games while we wait for the “next best thing”.
I’ve come to terms with it. As a GW1 veteran I feel insanely betrayed but that’s okay, because they’ve managed to make millions of new fans and there are many people who actually love the game. I wish only the best for ArenaNet and I hope they perfect their vision of what Guild Wars 2 is supposed to be.
It’s good you feel that way, it’s a very mature response. In some way, I too feel betrayed by Anet on a few things but… the game is still good overall for me.
Playing with others has no point at all, and that’s a fact. This is not a great MMO in that regard.
This is a great mmo in that regard because no one gets a free ride.
Um, if its soulbound on one character already, no matter how you transmute, it’ll stay on that character I believe.
If you have to ask yourself if you should be doing it, I would say you are better off not doing it.
That sounds like something that could get you banned, especially considering that ppl got banned for using salvage kits as intended.
What? This is complete bull crap. People get banned for the stupidest things lately, and I even heard stories from players who got banned for doing nothing wrong, and had proof that they weren’t. Yeah, they got their accounts back for submitting a ticket, but why were they banned in the first place?
This is the type of behavior that needs to be stop not encourage. I shouldn’t log on to Guild Wars 2 just to play, and fear being banned, because I might do something illegal. Since the poor, and lack of communication on Arenanet part on things.
Example: Players asked if the snow flake bug was intended. They never got answered, and Arenanet didn’t give us a warning. It was just. “BAN, LOL, BAN, LOL.”, but luckily it was only the worse 200 offenders. Even still this type of Fear they are instilling into their players is bad.
I see no reason why this Player can’t go mine Ori at level 2 if he has the means to do so. That’s his choice, and that’s how he wants to play his game.
Besides there’s no difference between 1, and 80 besides 1, and 0s. There’s no reason why he needs to wait to mine it if he wants to make money, or craft.Anyways. that’s my thought.
The ban hammer is overplayed by players and is no where near the amount that has been made out to be. Accidental bans do happen then and again but are resolved quickly. Most if not all players who have been banned knew they were clearly exploiting something but thought they would get away with it because a lot of other people were doing it. Sadly, these people also got too greedy and were the top 10 % of the exploiters.
I think it’s a nice touch to not know when it’s time or day in some areas because those areas are usually infested with EVILLLLLL
do you this this will further create a population problem on the lower populated servers?
Of course it will.
That’s the point. They want to
forceencourage people to buy gems to transfer to highly populated servers (which coincidently cost more to transfer too than low pop servers, how odd!).
Lower cost encourages people to join a lower population server…….
And giving people the opportunity to do certain maps in a lower pop server is helping the issue.. since they don’t have to physically move away from their home server…
Fewer people play the game, fewer materials enter the market, prices rise.
3 million copies of GW2 sold is totally meaningless if not many people continue to log in on a daily basis.
Lol at this response.
But ye, the current real reasons are likely to be bot bans and market manipulation
Legendary Weapons are not as legendary as they used to be. Reason? Trading Post.
People are shifting their mindset to buying precursor materials and/or weapons themself, rather than playing the game. Perhaps ANet is trying to fix this, however, the easiest and quickest route at the monent would be getting gold and converting it at the TP.
Once again with that, you have a sense of knowing how much time/effort/money you need to spend, whereas with the whole RNG/DR you feel lost and frustrated.
IMHO, all parts of the legendary should not be part of the TP. This is one end game path/goal that should not be dictated by the TP.
Thing is, everything can be bought with gold. Even if legendaries weren’t buyable and it had to be done through completing a series of difficult task, it would make it even easier to get then. People will sell their service to relieve people of doing such difficult task. Unless they made it purely solo content but then that’s just not the way it was intended was it? Even then, the solo content would still be easier and people would just repeat it until they got it thus making legendaries easily obtainable. The truth is, the real solution isn’t that simple and the current implementation is the BEST of the options that have been available.
The truth is, there has to be a grind. If there wasn’t a grind, these legendaries would be common as ever, the grind helps separate common and the uncommon. That’s why they’re working on a scavenger hunt and it has to be carefully design so that it can’t be abused and taken advantage of, making a surge in the precursors and dropping the prices very rapidly.
I’m going to make a wild guess here and say you guys are misinterpreting their idea of nerfing the AoE. I think what they mean is, they want to make make single target skills have a place as a skill when compared with AOE skills when it comes to facing 1 monster. So in terms of AOE, if there is more than 1 mob, I don’t think the nerf will be regarding that aspect but if its versing one more, then the damage is reduced (is the idea they’re hoping to achieve?). Hopefully if it’s something along this line I wouldn’t really mind, though these kind of chances are rather controversial given that staff ele and necros pretty mcuh are ALL aoes. Why make a weapon which is all AOE then nerf the damage against solo mob. In general, I too agree that I’ve never seen a problem with “aoes” and that it is a mechanic that is working fine. An official response to clarify the exact nerf and reason would be nice.
People like to put blame on certain groups of people regardless if they are actually the ones who let the team down. Berserker and magic find gear is all the same if you lack in survivability which clearly BOTH types of gear do not provide. Compare it with a knights gear or something which provides you with survivability and other nice trait bonuses with certain class.
Yes, I have tried to bring this up in game bugs but it has been ignored and also supported two bug tickets.
Lol elementalist don’t need to be nerfed, they are more tricky to handle compared to thieves but there is no grounds to nerf it. Thieves are also fine as it is as long as they fix the culling. They’re only scary to nubs.
I guess he wants more skills? I guess I wouldn’t mind 7 skills and have to choose 5 per weapon. There is still a lot of room for development in the builds we currently have. I particularly like vsing people who are inclined to play glass cannon builds but lack the skill to play one.
They can’t do account bound dyes now, because some genius had the idea of putting dye in the cash shop.
Less dye purchases= less money…. which means dyes won’t go account bound as long as there is money to be had.
Welcome to a game with a cash shop.
EDIT: And for those who come back with the ridiculous argument ‘it can’t be that much money/ it’s not enough to matter/ ANet isn’t all about the cash grab’, etc. I submit: they are a business, which exists to make money. Selling dyes, however few they may sell, generates profit. Any chance at profit is good in their eyes. Thus, we will never have account-bound dye.
They considered it then they ditched it. To be fair, gw1 never had this too. I’m not too bummed about not having account bound dyes just because yeah, i don’t really care. Dyes are cheap enough as they are, not everyone has to go with abyss and celestial colours, seriously.
There is a lot more selfish behaviour then magic find, i.e. uncooperative players, lack of communication, arrogance etc. Magic find just reduces your “survivability”, so if you are good at surviving, it is fine.
Sure this is a good idea, however, I’m not certain whether this is the way anet intended, we’ll know in the future where farming dragons on two servers was something they foresaw. It’s little to no impact (given dragons drop crap anyways)
As mentioned above Orr is totally soloable… there may be a few skill points that are more difficult but it’s far from impossible. As for WvW, there are such things called weekly rotations. So you should have plenty of chance to get your pois/skillpoints etc if you spread it out over the weeks.
Eh… but mystic clovers are a fixed 1/3 drop rate.. so in a big enough sample size (about 21 attempts is enough) you should get about 7 out of that. Even if you did it separately, the probability will still remain roughly 1/3. People usually complain about their bad streaks but then neglect the good streaks which they had (maybe they got 2 in a row or more and then a consecutive none from 5 tries, see what i’m getting at? they got 2 out of 7 attempts but only looked at the 5 failed attempts and ignored the successful ones).
Anyways RnG is fine. There has to be RnG aspects in any game regardless if you liked it or not. The drop rate has to be lower in this game because the loot system rewards every player and not 1 items shared among 5 people using a need/greed system.
Besides, I avoid most of the rng aspects in this game. They’re mostly optional if you’re not an impatient person. But then it’s not really the game but you eh.

In general i don’t even alt tab at all while in fractals. Doing such actions have a high chance to crash in fractals.
Usually my tactic is, if she is dead before you reach the stairs, keep her dead. Else, have everyone run deep into the room with no hesitation. Worked fine for me every time with this tactic
Um the second one happens when you don’t reset it properly. Try running a little further next time.
Thief players seem to underestimate how valuable it is to be able to drop everyone targeting you. Even if you spam “target nearest/last” you have the chance of targeting other mobs or ppl. That is why stealth is always a crutch and is needed by bad players so they can do good.
That being said Thieves themselves can’t be blamed because of culling and since it is just part of their class mechanic they aren’t exploiting in anyway.
Anet just stated today they are working on the culling issue. when it is fixed Thieves will be much easier to deal with by general players because they can no longer get 1-2 skills off while they are still totally invisible.
Right now GW2 Rogues are just doing what they are best known for, Ganking noobs.
Agreed. Thieves are nothing more than a pest, they can only kill noobs and experienced players of any class can take them out with ease (or at least make them run like the coward they are
)
There are much harder classes to deal with than them, thought having said that, the culling issue does need to be fixed.
I prefer swiftness over signet passives just because signets don’t stack with swiftness active. I play a guardian and have no trouble catching up to the zerg.
It would have been nice to be able to guest between EU and NA servers, and hopefully they continue to work toward making that possible.
I’ve seen quite a few mentions of meeting in overflow in this thread. That doesn’t allow playing open world content together, only dungeons (as far as I know).
This is incorrect. You can play open world content together in overflow. You just need to form a group in an overflow region (Lions Arch) and then you can go anywhere in the world with your group.
Just to clarify, it’s not possible for NA and EU players to play together in dungeons. No idea about open world since there are rarely any overflowed open world maps. However, their player icon should be a black anonymous person to you.
For everyone who’s complaining that cross-region play was possible in GW1 and is not possible with Guesting in GW2, please consider that GW1 was fully-instanced (it was not an MMORPG in the real sense of the term and even ArenaNet called it a CORPG – Cooperative Online RPG), while GW2 comes with a fully persistent world.
Simply taken from a network architecture perspective, cross-region play on a persistent game world compared to an instanced one is not the same thing. But then again, everyone here seems to be a game network programming guru.
Well said.
I’m actually appalled Anet would implement paid server transfers. There is no reason what so ever for us to be forced to pick 1 and only 1 server in the first place. Then to add insult to injury make us pay to transfer to a different server.
I’m new to the game, been playing close to 2 weeks and i have found that the server i picked was not one i want to be on. I had no way of knowing how the server would be before even playing the game and now i have to pay to change servers ? Sorry, this game might go into the garbage bin just on principal.
I understand that there is a problem with WvW and guilds transferring to lower tier servers but this is not the way to fix that problem. Hell it doesn’t do anything other than put some $$$ in Anet’s pockets. It’s ridiculous and if this is the best Anet can do … I hate to see what the next step is when they realize paid server transfers wont fix ((( their own ))) blatant and obvious oversight concerning WvW.
Paid server transfer have always existed and is vital to stop server hoppers in WvW. I think this fixes the problem perfectly and if you have a better method then by all means you should suggest it in the suggestion forum. Also, transfers are still free at the moment so you can still transfer to another world if you’re not happy with yours…
How is it going to fix the problem ? Do you think people who are so inclined can’t afford a $10 server transfer fee once a month or even once a week ?
It’s also apparent Anet has designed it this way by making it (((cheaper))) and easier for the problem guilds to hop to a lower tier / population server. This is a joke and it really makes me sad to see Anet do this. All they had to do was simply make every one who transfers servers start over from level 1 with no gold gems or anything… Problem solved.
Paid transfers are effective because it would force people to think twice now that real money is involved. If a guild is willing to spend lets say your proposed 10 bucks per member then sure by all means they can play that game if they want. I have nothing against it if they’re willing to pay the price.
The amount of unappreciative people who greatly underestimate the amount of effort required to design and implement these features are appalling….
It’s easy to say a few words and call them lazy… why don’t you do it and sell it to them.
From the beginning, I never once thought that guesting would be across NA/EU. For me, these two regions are completely separate. In fact, you should be thankful if you actually live in either of these regions, some of us don’t even have that choice.
Gah…. I mean.. all looked good until I realized that the lfg site that I only found a few weeks ago (read: can easily find groups and have fun doing dungeons almost anytime) will become next to useless…
How will lfg become next to useless? There is no change in the system at all. It’s not like NA and EU server could play with each other in the first place (why there are separate tabs)
I’m actually appalled Anet would implement paid server transfers. There is no reason what so ever for us to be forced to pick 1 and only 1 server in the first place. Then to add insult to injury make us pay to transfer to a different server.

What’s with all the surprise and complaints already? Region based separation exist to minimize latency issues. If you and your friends wanted to play together so much, why didn’t you play on the same region server to begin with o.O…
This implementation is good else we’ll have people crying about lag after guesting to a different region server.
Removing free world transfers is good.
Looking forward to the update
Why would you ruin the game and my farm spot by doing this. Were you feeling lonely? Did you need attention? Are you seeking community approval for being helpful? your not.
What’s your problem? Why would I need attention and why would I seek community approval? I was just trying to help others who don’t know about this farming spot.
The problem is by making this public in the end everyone can potentially lose out. In previous cases where something like this was posted – IT GOT NERFED!
It would be different if we didn’t have situations where ANet would not nerf such hot-spots after being made public – it would effectively help. But, because ANet is pedantic about their TP/Economy and they will nerf anything that has the potential to “upset” the balance.
Anet only nerfs spots if it was not intended. e.g the armored scale farms.
Why would you ruin the game and my farm spot by doing this. Were you feeling lonely? Did you need attention? Are you seeking community approval for being helpful? your not.
What’s with the selfishness that people exhibit.
Thank you OP for the tip~
There is an option to turn this on and off in settings.
AN has to make money somehow, their system is the smartest i’ve ever seen in a F2P game (Personally I’d still play this game with a monthly fee) and asking for them to reduce your gold sink (which is, currently, reasonable) is like asking them to cut their earnings. They have to make money in order to keep us entertained with content.
I may be wrong here but I don’t think anet really earns money from having this gold sink here. Gold sinks should not be related to the people who buy/convert gems to gold. What gold sinks do in my perspective is to keen the currency from inflating.
It would be nice to be able to let us add a small comment to the report to elaborate what the report is on. For example, someone spamming a choir bell i’m not sure if it can be considered abuse but it’s very very annoying. I report it because many players find this an extreme nuisance and no way to turn off. But the category that fits it best is spamming and usually this would be associated with chat and not skill.
Thanks~
the first 2 replies on this thread are sad
Then the subsequent ones show the two sides of the extreme clashing together resulting in the big bang.
Totally agree. This system is flawed. There are a couple times the game disconnects itself from the server in the middle of the cutscene right before the reward is given. I’m so glad that I wasn’t the leader of that run. That wouldn’t be fun for any of us if the connection dropped on just the leader and ruined it for the whole party. :S
Disconnection doesn’t render the kick. Only if the leader leaves the party or if he switches character does it kick everyone out.
So I finished a dungeon, and I stayed in the last cut-scene a bit, and my husband left right away cause he saw it already.
He was dungeon leader… So when he left, we all got kicked and no one but him got the tokens or time to get the treasure. I don’ blame my husband at all, he felt bad too, even though he shouldn’t.
It is the dumbest system I have ever seen. I’ve also experienced trolling with it in past dungeons where the leader was having a bad time and he was like HAHAHAHA and just left and kicked us all out after being in there an hour.
This HAS to be changed. It doesn’t even seem on purpose. Really clunky and stupid.
If he left the party before you finished watching, he shouldn’t have gotten the tokens (final pop up reward) since it’s only dished out when everyone has finished the cut scene. Also, if he left the dungeon but stayed in party, no one gets kicked.
He could have however picked a chest while you guys were in cinematic (eg ac path 2, cof path 1). The system works fine, just the party leader needs to be aware of this.
